Patient’s frequently complain about the unavailability of counselors on the weekends

Talking with 1000s of patients over the years indicate that counselors may need to consider weekend hours. Many complaints were voiced, but one complaint stood out as an important issue to the respondents, the need for weekend hours. Many people with mental health issues say that stress plays a large factor in their anxiety, depression, relationship dysfunction, and other mental health issues. They seem to be saying that counselors could help just a bit more by contributing to a reduction in the stress of yet another health care appointment during busy week schedules. Trying to balance family, job, finances and other life needs is often stressful enough. Add on top of all that weekly sessions with a therapist and some find themselves in over their heads.

Brandon personally interacts with patients frequently who request weekend hours for counseling appointments. “Is there any way I can schedule an appointment on Saturday?” one patient asks. Until now, Brandon had to respectfully decline.

Now, Brandon can gladly answer yes to those requests. Having teamed up with The Lighthouse Counseling Center in Chattanooga Tennessee, Brandon has opened up several appointment slots on Saturdays to help accommodate those requests for weekend sessions. It is his hope that in doing so, he will contribute to decreased stress and better quality of life for those who take advantage.

If you’d like more information about Brandon, The Lighthouse Counseling Center and/or weekend counseling sessions, please call 423-499-9335 or visit www.lighthouselifeskills.com.

Chattanooga, TN – June 28, 2011 – Breakaway Outreach is excited to announce the launch of Kidz Connection Mobile, a new outreach program bringing Chattanooga kids “Somethin’ Good in the Hood” through creative neighborhood experiences for under-served communities and low-income apartment complexes.

The faith-based initiative aims to turn the tide of youth violence, delinquency, poverty, and gang affiliations by empowering kids with social resiliency skills, teaching them biblical values, and equipping their families holistically. The vision for KCM is to deploy mobile kids’ activity vehicles all over the city, providing cutting edge children’s ministry to inner-city kids throughout Chattanooga utilizing creative arts, drama, interactive worship experiences, puppet shows, and age-appropriate activities.

There are many ways you can volunteer with KCM. Volunteers are needed to operate sound systems, serve snacks, facilitate games, teach Bible stories, lead music, perform skits, and mentor kids. Breakaway is also looking for people to serve on the committee for their first annual golf fund-raising event: Champions Fore Kids.

Breakaway Outreach is a 501(c)3 organization committed to reaching at-risk youth and children through inner-city outreach, summer camps for prisoners’ children, KidVenturez trips for underprivileged children, after school clubs, juvenile center intervention, and mentoring initiatives.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.— Hundreds of thousands of music fans will invade the heart of Chattanooga, Tenn. this week for the annual Riverbend Festival, bringing with them cell phones, smartphones and tablets. Verizon Wireless technicians have deployed a high-tech Cell on Wheels (COW) unit to Chattanooga, Tenn. June 10 – 18 to boost coverage for the festival attendees, who are increasingly using wireless devices to shoot and upload videos, pictures and blogs about the festival.

The COW unit will fortify Verizon Wireless’ network coverage in Chattanooga, Tenn. during the expected spike in network traffic during Riverbend, providing enhanced coverage for wireless calls; text, picture and video messages; Internet connections; and other wireless traffic. The COW has a 75-foot telescoping antenna and 11 dedicated voice and high-speed data channels, and it can process thousands of phone calls and data transmissions simultaneously.

Verizon Wireless’ 3G network utilizes the most advanced high-speed Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) Revision A (Rev. A) wireless technology, providing clearer call reception and faster speeds when sending text or multimedia messages. The deployment of a COW unit for enhanced network coverage at Riverbend is part of Verizon Wireless’ continued commitment to give its Tennessee customers the best coverage possible for their wireless lifestyle.

Verizon Wireless also announced in January it will launch its 4G LTE (Fourth Generation, Long Term Evolution) network in Chattanooga, Tenn. in 2011. The 4G LTE network will usher in
a new era in wireless communications for Chattanoogans with real-time speeds and improved in-building penetration. To date, Verizon has invested more than
$1 billion in the Tennessee network since 2003.

About Verizon Wireless
Verizon Wireless operates the nation’s fastest, most advanced 4G network and largest, most reliable 3G network. The company serves 104 million total wireless connections, including more than 88 million retail customers. Headquartered in Basking Ridge, N.J., with 85,000 employees nationwide, Verizon Wireless is a joint venture of Verizon

Sticky Fingers Smokehouse is introducing beef brisket in Chattanooga. The restaurant company has traditionally had a pork menu, so this is a new and exciting menu addition for guests.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Southeast restaurant company that has sold millions of pounds of pork, is taking on beef. Starting this week, the Sticky Fingers Smokehouse locations in Chattanooga (2031 Hamilton Place Blvd. and 420 Broad St.) will offer the tasty meat.

This new menu item has been in development since last July. To get it right, the Sticky Fingers team spent time in Texas sampling beef brisket and learning the secrets to making the best. Earlier this year, Sticky Fingers began test marketing the beef brisket in some of its markets and the item sold out consistently.

“Our menu is already full of the familiar comfort foods you crave. By adding beef brisket, we are truly offering everything a barbecue lover wants under one roof,” said Frank Sbordone, President and CEO of Sticky Fingers. “Our beef is top choice and smoked on-site so our guests know they will get authentic, high quality brisket.”

Sticky Fingers’ beef brisket is seasoned with a mixture of black pepper and the smokehouse’s signature dry rub. The brisket is then smoked over hickory wood for eight to ten hours until mouthwatering and savory. To ensure the beef brisket is juicy and tender, it’s served fresh off the pits at lunch and dinner, until it runs out.

Menu choices include:

Beef & Bleu Salad, $9.99 – Chopped beef brisket served over mixed greens with red onions, diced tomatoes and bleu cheese crumbles. This salad is topped with fried onions and Sticky Fingers’ new, homemade Bacon Bleu Cheese salad dressing.

Half Slab & Beef Brisket, $16.99 – Hickory-smoked ribs and sliced, smoked beef brisket served with Memphis Original Barbecue Sauce. Served with your choice of two Southern Sides.

Beef Brisket Plate, $9.49 and Platter, $11.99 – Sliced, smoked beef brisket served with Memphis Original Barbecue Sauce. Served with Texas Toast and your choice of two Southern Sides.

Smoked Beef Brisket Sandwich, $5.99 (small) and $7.99 (large) – Chopped beef brisket piled high topped with Memphis Original Barbecue Sauce on a toasted bun. Served with seasoned fries or your choice of one Southern Side.
