NBA Live 10 is the latest installment in the long-running E.A. Sports basketball series – much like with FIFA 10 and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, the improvements over last year's outing are more than enough to justify a purchase (even though some claim they are merely roster updates and not much else).

Audiences have been given a bigger role than ever before in order to create more lifelike atmospheres, while teams have been given their own individual playing style with faster running animations that take into account player sizes – 24 authentic FIBA squads have also been included as well.

Let's Tap consists of a number of mini-games that require you to tap a flat surface with your hands to play. Setting the Wii Remote face-down on one of the two provided tap boxes, your vibrations are picked up and move a character in a race, inflate a balloon, create ripples in a pool of water, or paint swirls on a canvas.

Whilst many of these compilation things are generally a waste of time and money, Let's Tap is original and ambitious – the fact that the mini-games are very well designed also helps things too.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 £32

Instead of being just another game in the franchise, Prince Of Persia is a completely new chapter. A different story, as well as a new graphic style and gameplay elements, is like a breath of fresh air in a series that had been on the slide in recent times.

The gameplay retains a similar feel to that found in the "Sands Of Time" trilogy, in the sense that acrobatics, puzzle solving, an combat elements remain. However, it's non-linear and, as such, gives you the chance to explore any part of the world whenever you feel like it.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 £10

Viva Piñata: Party Animals is actually based on elements from the television show Viva Piñata, including the characters featured in it as well as the voice talent. Furthermore, it provides a mini-game based experience (much like the Mario Party series), with over 40 different games to play – unlike the original, which had more of a sandboxed style environment.

Reviewers haven't been all that kind to this, but then I feel that most of them having been missing the point somewhat – for starters, this is more aimed at kids/families than other titles in the series.

Viva Pinata: Party Animals £4.75

Although Wii Sports is bundled with every Wii console, it's actually a very good game in its own right – which makes the arrival of a sequel, in the shape of Wii Sports Resort, absolutely no surprise at all. I'm just surprised it took so long to come out!

A total of 12 different activities are represented, with golf, bowling and boxing making repeat appearances from the original. Of the new sports, canoeing and basketball are perhaps the most fun – though the others are great too, especially in multiplayer.
