Beauty and Comfort Combined

Luxury accommodation is something that we all want, but seem to rarely ever fork out for and enjoy. The tourism industry has noticeably become much more accessible over the last few years and more and more people can travel the world for a lot less than you would expect. If you can manage to secure reasonably priced flights and holiday deals, then you might be interested to hear of the increase of luxury accommodation available in tropical locations.

For the most of the time if you are heading to tropical regions in the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean, then you are expecting to park few pound coins. The fact that more and more luxury accommodation are appearing in tropical destination isn’t too much of a surprise as there is a demand for it in those locations. Popular Spanish resorts aren’t experiencing a similar increase as you might expect.

While areas in the Indian Ocean and the Caribbean have long been associated with expense and luxury, you will find that they are very much reachable and reasonably priced locations. If the price was always the stumbling block to booking that dream holiday then it might be worth having another look. More airlines fly to tropical destinations and this means more flights, which leads to plenty of seats at competitive prices. It only takes a few looks to find some outstanding deals that can take you to the likes of Jamaica, Seychelles or the Bahamas. Who knows this year you could be stopping in a 5 star hotel on the white beaches of Cancun for less than you thought.

Malta On a Mission to Showcase Itself

As a tourist destination I think it’s safe to safe that the majority of holidaymakers heading into the Mediterranean this year won’t be going to Malta, and probably many of the younger generation don’t even know where it is! That said, UK citizens are the most frequent of travellers to the Island country with 450,000, which works out as 35% of Malta’s tourists. However, this isn’t enough and the countries tourists’ minister, Mario de Marco, is hell bent on improving the appeal and attraction to Malta.

Abta holds and annual forum called The Travel Convention which allows country’s to wow and impress, and this year its Malta’s turn and they don’t want to pass up the opportunity. The aim is to make Malta appealing to all areas and ages of tourism so that it doesn’t alienate itself. Mario de Marco explained that currently only 10% of the Malta’s tourists are aged over 60 and this is one area which they aim to address and improve. The tourism minister has also stressed that more attention needs to be put into the online market, suggesting the more money spent in that area the more people will travel. He still maintains that travel agents are where the main source of tourism is gained, but the more reliance on computers we have each day suggest everybody will be booking their holidays at some point in the future.

As Malta tries to showcase itself as an ‘all-rounder’ holiday destination it has recently been said that the government are preparing to improve their very own sister island into an eco friendly utopia, which will attract a whole different kind of tourist.

Sydney Offer Out of this World

Visits to Sydney, Australia generally consist of lapping up the sun, exploring the city and experiencing the nightlife. The city itself isn’t always the attraction but instead the outskirts where various landmarks and natural attractions take the limelight, one in particular is the Jenolan Caves. The Jenolan Caves have always attracted a fair amount of interest from tourists but it seems now they have a whole new reason to visit, and it’s because you can enjoy a tour in Klingon.

Tours of the Jenolan Caves are self-guided via audio tapes given to tourists generally provided in a number of languages, such is its popularity. The reason for this isn’t because of a sudden increase of Klingon speakers across the world, or the fact that Klingon remains have been discovered there. The Jenolan Caves were once used in the Star Trek series Next Generation in the episode ‘Relics’. A star ship in the actual series was named the USS Jenolan as a result. Officials from the Reserve Trust said that is a fitting tribute to offer a Klingon tour of their caves to the many fans who visit here each year.

The Jenolan Caves are located within the Blue Mountains west of Sydney. It will be the Nettle Cave which has the offer of a Klingon tour. The system of caves offers an intriguing experience, exploring the various rock formations and underground rivers that have developed over the centuries. This new addition to the cave tours is certainly going to cause an increase of interest as it certainly is a one off chance ‘trekkies’ won’t want to miss!
