Love in our mouth, is just like love in real life. It combines two beautiful puzzle pieces into a sweaty smile of satisfaction. Effort is involved, and at times you willingly think more about your partner then yourself.. But in the end you both end up happy and giggling. Sharing huge smiles together.

Tenaya’s Imperial Stout, and Goran’s redheaded Gingerbread Imperial Stout Buttercream and Roasted Pecan Cake. (Recipe)

The Imperial Stout is a Large dark skinned warrior which greets you with a solid off-white shield and muscles coursing full of life and vigor. Beneath gloved coarse hopped hands, is a velvety smooth skin, smelling of cool coffee and warm Carmel. A thick, stick to your palate mouth feel lets you savor the dark chocolate roasted caramel, ending in Victory along a black Malty plain.

Goran took Tenaya Creeks massive Imperial Stout and brought him into the Kitchen! His Gingerbread Imperial Stout Buttercream and Roasted Pecan Cake, pairs just right with Tenaya’s massive build of Stout. Think warrior gets the princess.. Sweet buttery cream red-head, tames the warrior and they end up giggling with smiles on there face.

It was a fun night featuring local cake, local beer, and local folks enjoying the work of two hands. Tenaya Creeks, and Gormo’s (Twitter: @CookingWthGormo). I think it’s fair to say we are all excited for more of this at the Creek!

It’s like George Carlin in a beer… Drift

Here you sit, drawing across the canvas of your mind the perfect rugged mountain. Full of fresh powdered snow, and a snowboard painting sweet sweeping turns across the mountain. Your cheeks sting with a windy bitterness nicely balanced by a joyfully bulbous orange sun warming the day.

The term “Kick ass” only adds up to half of the equation. The other half is your Craft Beer!

This Winter Mt Charleston Lodge is Serving up a beer made exclusively for them! And of course the day described above. Tenaya Creek Brewery has crafted a Pale Ale tasting like George Carlin sounded. Bitter on the outside.. Sweet in the middle, and overall an enjoyable show lending a smile.

Similar to a old school English Pale Ale, Abominable sports a sweet biscuity bread-like center. Yet Anthony, the Brewer at Tenaya Creek along with Marcos and Johnny had fun with this one.

18 Brewers, hundreds of craft beers + Live music + great food = a fantastic time at the Golden Nugget! I’m sure you won’t go thirsty over this two day event… Get a room and enjoy the whole weekend in style! It all starts this Friday (10/14/11) with the All American Craft Beer Tasting sponsored by Samuel Adams, from 7-10 P.M. in The Grand events center. Guests can sample over 120 craft beer selections and enjoy chef-inspired appetizers while listening to live music and mingling with some of America’s hottest award-winning brew masters. One of the highlights of the evening will be the traditional “tapping of the kegs” featuring several seasonal artisan draft beers. Additionally, each guest will receive a commemorative glass as a souvenir. Tickets to the event can be purchased individually for $50 (Price is per person, plus sales and entertainment taxes).

Day two, guests will enjoy a traditional Oktoberfest Pool Party sponsored by Paulaner Beer from Munich at the property’s award-winning pool and shark aquarium, The Tank, Saturday (10/15/11) from 3-9 P.M. Admission is free and beer enthusiasts can enjoy 200 different international and domestic beers available for purchase while listening to an authentic German Oktoberfest band.

As an added incentive, guests interested in both events can receive discounted food and beer tickets for Saturday’s Oktoberfest Pool Party with paid admission to Friday’s All American Craft Beer Tasting.

“Tick and opportunity opens, and tock an opportunity closes.” And so it is, as we preamble through this walking experiment we like to call life. And so says one of my favorite characters from an old Sci-Fi show called Babylon 5. So when I arrived at The Springs Preserve for the Brews and Blues festival and had circumstances outside of my control tell me I had to be at work in an hour and a half, would not be able to drink the very craft beer I know and love, at the very event I was most looking to writing about.. it was definitely a kick in the manhood. TOCK..

Yet when a door closes another opens. I chose to spend the hour and a half I had trying to find the greatest souls, and the coolest personalities right here in the very valley we live. The following is just some of the awesome people I met, as I spirited around one of the most unique event spaces on the craft beer calendar
