So after the riots broke out in Vancouver, people downtown were being told to go home. Naturally, I defied common sense and went out to see what the fuss was about.

I’m not trying to trivialize what happened last week. I’m just saying that this is the only thing I physically perceived with my own eyes. I fucking missed everything else.

Gosh, it’s been 7 months since the last comic.

First, this strip was supposed to be a strip. And then it turned into an animation. And then it turned into a game. And after iteration after iteration I spent more and more time trying to come up with something “new” and “cool” instead of focusing on the task at hand: to put out a new comic and continue a story.

I realized I may have been a bit too ambitious with some of the things I want to do with this strip. I kept putting it off for longer and longer because I figured, I’d come out with a new comic “when it’s ready”. Well… it would have never been ready if I had kept up that mindset. So I’m going to scale my plans back and just try to stick to the basics: coming up with a strip once a week. Unfortunately this takes up a lot more time than I’d like. I need to find a way to pump out strips faster without sacrificing quality… unless you guys want another daily stick-man strip.

With the advent of new web technologies like HTML5 and CSS3 I figured it was time for a site upgrade as well. As much as I want to spend the rest of my life with Flash, I can’t. There are some fancy bells & whistles all around the site, so feel free to poke around. I’d love to hear if there are any bugs or broken links. It’s still practice after all.

A while ago I did a full-page comic for Afoot Magazine, a Vancouver-based lifestyle magazine started by my classmate Dmitri and Sebastiaan. I also designed their website. You can check out the comic right here (Or click on the picture).

Second of all — my senior project I decided to build a graphic adventure game for CUEK in Flash. For those not familiar with the term, a graphic adventure is one of those point-and-click games that make you solve puzzles and shit to advance the story. If you want to check out what I have so far, just click (You can’t really do anything except walk around the room and look/talk/inspect with certain things, so, yeah, just sayin’ since the last demo I put up I forgot to mention when it ended and people were staring at it for ages wondering what to do next).

I’ve also put the online store on hold until after graduation when I’ll really be needing to convince you guys to throw money at me somehow, so we’ll see.
