How to do the S.M.A.R.T self-test?

My 2 Cents

Besides, a record of boot procedures of my laptop hard disk is 7407 out of 10k which showing that I am actually reaching the limit?? Perhaps you can explain to me what mean by that. As expected, to perform a S.M.A.R.T inspection on 80GB hard disk with 1.25GB Memory RAM speed needs about 45 minutes to finish.
After all, I ran a little experiment which keep my laptop running on for whole day likes playing game, blogging, internet browsers and so forth. The temperature of the hard disk is at 107°F. Now, I let the cooling pad start working under my laptop for about 10 minutes. The temperature slowly cooling down to 95°F. And this is the reason to get a cooling pad for yourself.

Limitation

Collaborators can be chosen as “Viewer” (allow to view) or “Editor” (allow to edit) before you send out the invitation. And then give the send-out file a description for easy notification to the collaborators.

Precaution: Before Upgrade Every Component On Old Notebook

Don’t throw away your old notebook just yet. I discovered a way out to help your old notebook work better than before. I don’t dispute that Vista is a hugely demanding operating system. Although your notebook may have a fast enough processor – 800MHz is the minimum speed required – you’re likely to be much happier if you upgrade the memory to 1GB. Vista consumes swathes of hard disk space too. And, if you want to take advantage of all those swish graphics effects, you’ll need a relatively modern graphic card.

I can help you to upgrade most parts of your notebook but there isn’t much I can do when it comes to graphics. Fortunately, however, the swish video effects isn’t the most important part of Vista. What I can do is upgrade my memory, optical drive and hard disk, plus add faster wireless, USB, FireWire and even phone capabilities. I can even replace my screen and processor too, but this is not advisable after considering the price cost.

The internals of notebooks are much less tolerant to abuse than their desktop counterparts, and are a lot easier to damage as you poke around inside. As long as you follow a few simple rules, however, notebook should survive the experience. Take the precautions below:

Cut the power
Make sure all power to notebook is cut before carrying out any upgrade work. Turn it off, then pull the plug and remove the battery to make sure you don’t turn it on by accident while working on it.

Firm but fair
Never force any part of a notebook’s case – the plastics tend to be thin and are easy to break. If a panel doesn’t come free the first time you try it, there’s probably a very good reason for this. Look for screws you may have missed and try levering things apart gently with a thin, flat-bladed screwdriver instead of wrenching them off with your fingers.

Stay grounded
Ground yourself by wearing an anti-static wrist strap (or by touching a metal object) before you start to work on the innards of notebook.

Back up first
Always make some kind of a backup before carrying out an upgrade, especially it involves the hard disk. Even something as simple as dragging important files across to a USB flash drive can save your bacon.

Stay organised
You’ll need a flat, well-lit working area, and thoroughly keeping all the relevant screws in separate bowls while you’re working (it’s all too easy to lose them and mix them up).

Scrap your warranty
Haha. Don’t blame me if it all goes wrong. Cracking open your notebook’s chassis, replacing the screen and upgrading the CPU are all operations that can fail, and they’ll almost certainly void your warranty. But just work carefully and you are fine.

Yet, this is just a simple precaution done by ChemstudioWEB. And for more specific detail to any of the component parts that you wish to upgrade. I still advise to get a technician sitting beside will be the best idea.

This sounds very promising as we can even “track” via Twitter. And the tracking feature that added on your mobile or IM is very simple to use though. But why do we need that? Users are able to subscribe to alerts based on keywords, for example a subscription for “NYC” will result in a user receiving copies of all tweets that mention NYC.

How to turn on the track service?
Take an example, if you wish to know something related to “iphone”:-
IM/TXT message track iphone and from there you will get the information on your device in real-time.
IM/TXT message whois username to find out more about the person; or else
IM/TXT message follow username to follow his/her updates.
IM/TXT message untrack iphone to toggle it off; or
IM/TXT message track off to turn them all off.

We always encounter this the same problem when trying to download the movie and ‘wishing’ that the movie we have in the seed is the real copy. The feature of this concept car features an innovative cabin which can revolve 360 degrees, eliminating the need to reverse. With this unique feature and it’s compact body, Pivo is simply easy to operate. This three-seater car has an Around View Monitor which reduces blind spots by displaying the outside surroundings on screens mounted on the inside of the car – located on either side of the windshield. In addition, a dash-mounted infrared (IR) commander allows the driver to operate the navigation and stereo systems with mere finger movements without letting go of the steering wheel. At first, sorry that I’ve to admit that the title post is a bit tricky just to catch you all attention which I don’t actually found a clone of ChemstudioWEB.COM instead of I’m creating out another clone of my own blog by using Jimdo.com.

In a nutshell, Jimdo.com allows me to integrate my own design into Jimdo-page, and also can have my own blog’s appearance. In order to use this feature, all I need is basic knowledge of HTML and CSS which I trust you all advanced at. Paste the code into “Layout” > “own layout,” If you are not good at it, you can then use the incredible special layout which Jimdo supplied. And also integrate Jimdo elements like Sidebar, Navigation, etc. with a click, upload some layout photos – finished! All the easy jobs could be done with simple “clicks”!

Since this development is quite complex – in this initial phase, small problems could emerge. They are not aware of any problems yet, but if you do encounter some problems, the support team is always ready to help you up.While they are telling this is freepage but I don’t see it’s not really “free at all”. They are limited those who upgrade to JimdoPro only can view the daily statistics, visits per page, search engines, referrer, and browser and this will cost a few bucks which I don’t actually interested at it as I can have Google.com/analytics as my guide. Just wondering why would they charge the service as people won’t even get bother for such viewing service as because the big brother company like Google.com is actually providing for free.

Most of the time that we have been talking about dual-core computing hit the big time in the last two years or three years perhaps, not quite sure of it. The matter of fact is the performance benefits of having two CPU cores in a single PC have been consistently proven in revealing faster media processing times and better responsiveness. But now, I get a chance to know the latest technology coming in and it’s time for us to move on from dual-core, steps up to deliver you Quad-core PC computing. I ensure you that Intel really does a high-end offering being built-in to plenty of gaming, professional and enthusiast PC or any machine that needed high performance tasks. The market still has not released any news of Core 2 Extreme QX6800 but you may find QX6700 and QX6600 flooding out in the market.

The good news is if you trying to find the best quad-core CPU for your new high-end system and planning for the next upgrade, AMD has entered the race with Quad FX which is worth considering.

Performance bottlenecks

Just my simple 2 cents here, while a quad-core CPU definitely hit on for the best and the highest performance in multithreaded application and multitasking, but at the same time it will stress your hard drive. Because considering installing multiple drives like most people do to house your operating system and applications, data and temporary work area, separately. 320GB hard drives should be worked fine though and I think the price is getting lower and lower.

Another is memory requirement consideration. Maybe 1GB may work fine for a 32-bit Windows XP or Vista-based machine but anything less may lead to a slow-down, especially for those large-workload applications. In my case, tabs that I open in my Firefox often eat up at least 200MB~300MB and PhotoShop takes at least 80MB in basic. (exclude the work on the tabs in Firefox and PhotoShop). Well, I would say 2GB and above would probably look plenty for the machine and that helps to optimize quad-core CPU pretty well.

Gizmodo did a slightly comparison between these 2 century high-tech performance.

As Malaysia’s National Day is just round the corner, Muar born Chinese rap talent has decided to pay his tribute to the country as a patriotic Malaysian. This rapper by the name of ‘namewee’ had self-directed a video posted on YouTube with a rapped version of Negaraku together with his creatively embedded ‘opinion’ of the country.

However, his tribute had turned out to be an insult to the country as it has brought shame to the nation. ‘Namewee’ got himself into trouble for his patriotism as the police are considering action under the Sedition Act against him.

To face the music, ‘Namewee’ has publicly apologized through the media to express his ignorance for being disrespect to the country and also offensive to certain sensitive issues. Hurray for ‘Namewee’ that the ADP is on the other hand supportive of his act and has decided to stand up for him.

Personally, and I believe, to many Malaysians as well, I actually feel proud of such Malaysian. He was just trying to convey all those facts faced by many of us every day. It’s a hit on the nail and nobody should deny the truth behind it. Maybe, maybe, this is what many Malaysians are proud of. Maybe, even the government is proud of it too. If not, why do they feel humiliated and intimidated by this act? Let the truth speak for itself. This ‘namewee’ shouldn’t be taken any improper action as he’s just being a representative for many people, voicing out our hearts as one.

Furthermore, while hearing the way he sang his ‘Negarakuku’, it makes one feels that he’s singing with all his heart, his soul and his mind to someone so honourable and worthy. Just think about it, what wrong has he done?

What’s the purpose for the government to request an apologize from a person who actually has ‘unite’ his fans’ hearts? I’m not a politician but I believe that’s something for a citizen who has the right to give speech or rap or even normal conversation about his own country. And one thing that I’m pretty sure that, does anyone here care about what’s in his apology? Or people actually trying to rap the rhyme like he does? Let’s listen ..

The use of Ipods and mp3 or mp4 players are the trend among all ages of people as they are good companions for office workers, students, joggers, readers, drivers and also professionals. Well, the answer is ‘No’. Ipods are not lighting rods. We’ve seen warnings that we should not use Ipods for fear of being struck by lightning. However, investigation experts have stated that Ipods have nothing to do with being struck by lightning. Then, why is it that many Ipod users have got struck by lightning?

Actually, the Ipods or mp3/mp4 players don’t attract lightning. It is when the lightning strikes, the charge is conducted by the earphones straight to your head! So, the earphones are the culprit. But again, without the earphones, Ipods would no longer be such a favourite among the users.

Other than earphones, other portable devices such as mobile phones and also piercing, and even jewelry which may contain metal can potentially attract lightning and bring about serious injury such as ruptured eardrums and burns on the face.

Therefore, it is advised that we should remove any electronic and metal devices during thunderstorms and lightning until the storm passes as to prevent ourselves from serious injury.

After I tried out some feed readers and sometimes may have trouble login own username. The way out of this situation, I found Sage which I would like to called the winner of software RSS readers. What’s the best way to integrate RSS news feeds and the Web? Don’t use a separate RSS reader. That’s the secret behind Sage, which integrates directly into Firefox (but not Internet Explorer). Using it is simple: click the Sage icon in your toolbar; Sage will then drop down on the left. Whenever you visit a page that has a RSS feed, you click the Discover Feeds button to add the feed. The rest of the Firefox window then becomes your reader. Sage lets you organise your folders, search through feeds, and import and export feeds lists.

How to install:

After installation, you may need to restart Firefox to make it functional and there are 4 ways to access Sage in Firefox. First, open up Firefox and you may discover Sage button already display on your toolbar, else drag the Sage icon to the toolbar from View > Toolbar > Customize. Another way is clicking on View > Sidebar > Sage, or the easiest way by pressing [Alt + Z].

How to use:

Get all feeds in the list will be a mess, so you can manage the feeds from the drop down Options menu on Sage panel and click Manage Feed List and a simple drag-and-drop feature dialog will pop up like the image below.

Instead of your currently default feeds reader layout, you may find them just too plain. Whereas, you can choose from 32 different style of layouts with Sage RSS reader. You just need to put the ‘dot’ on any of the choices and preview from the page below. Scroll down and right click in the source, choose This Frame > Save Frame As into the directory. Then go to Options on Sage panel, choose Settings and browse for the file you have just saved.

Opera 9 – New 9 Updated Features

There are several reasons why I use Opera more often than Firefox. Of course, the one very point of them is browsing time. I do a simple google search on ChemstudioWEB.COM with Firefox to give me result in 0.17 seconds whereas Opera resulted in 0.03 seconds and that comes to almost 6 times faster than Firefox. Besides, 9 new features added in Opera 9 are more beneficial. Click to learn more after jump.

What’s new in Opera 9

Speed Dial™ – A very convenient way to access favorite websites. Just press on [Ctrl + T] to open a new tab and 9 Speed Dial are available for you to enter 9 websites that you frequently visit.

Fraud protection – It gives you the highest privacy protection against those websites that try to ‘hack’ your personal information.
How to protect:

Note the “?” near the address bar
Click on it and a dialog will pop up to enable Fraud Protection
Trusted site will be verified

BitTorrent – Now you can even download your BT file by using Opera.
Add your favorite search engines – This is really simple. If you like Yahoo search engine, just right click on the yahoo search blank and choose ‘create search’.
Content blocker – The feature is available on any web page that you wish to block. Just right click Remove ads or images – it’s up to you. Right-click (CTRL-click on the Mac) on the Web page and choose “Block content”.
Site preferences – Likewise, this can view a site in a different way or deny certain cookies or want to block pop-ups on certain sites only. Right click and select “Edit site preferences”.
Widgets – The very nice feature that I would like to introduce about this. Small Web applications (multimedia, newsfeeds, games and more) that make your desktop experience more fun. 1266 widgets available at widgets.opera.com now. Improved rich text editing – Use advanced text editing features for today’s most popular Web applications.
Thumbnail preview – It is easy to have many tabs open at once in Opera. But exactly which tab had that video you wanted? Hover your mouse on any tab to see a thumbnail preview.

“Everything is possible” is all I can say about today’s technology. If you have something on your mind that just came across, googling it and I assure you may find the same concept was already flip out over the web. A pretty simple layout website which mainly encouraging in dark color really doesn’t catch my eyes to stay for a minute more if I didn’t see the word ‘INVITE’.

InviteShare is running a great concept for some people who eagerly wanted to get invitation from other while begging so hard on it. Or some may have tons of invitation to send out but there’s no way for them to get off from their hands. Well, why not share out all the invitations at this ‘one-stop-invitation’ shop? Besides, they are currently award for inviting people as the more people you can invite, the higher priority you get for those invitation you wished for an age. Firefox Different Extension: Pacman Add-On

Firefox add-on is not just an enhancement plug-in tool anymore, in fact, I found The Retro Extension or Pacman Extension I should name it correctly. Of course, this is nothing to do with the classic pac-man 2D game but just another clone game. As a matter of fact, it does entertain me for a few minutes to finish eating all the ‘dot’ bun and recall my memory back from many years ago.
Is it strange that when there’s a pacman extension on Tools option?

Very few simple features:
* stunning retro graphics
* authentic sound effects
* back-in-the-80s feeling
* highscore list

As you can see, 4 gamespeed from “slow to insane” but you can still sit back relax while the ‘insane’ mode on.

Information Architects 2007 Web Trend Map

Information Architects have released their Web Trend Map for 2007, a subway map of the 200 most successful websites on the web, ordered by category, proximity, success, popularity and perspective. In theory it demonstrates the relationship between various sites and ideas, with a strong focus on Web 2.0.

I’d always found these sorts of things clever, very impressive and inconceivable, at least for myself that it seems like ‘mission impossible’. In a geeky sort of way, inserting art knowledge, business, marketing, drawing some ‘abstract’ graphic but actually end up with technology show! How is that possible could be done in my life? But it’s not recommended that you try reading this with a hangover or whilst on certain prescription medications.

YouTube New Feature: Customizable Player

Another reason why we should stick with YouTube embedded videos until now. They had just released a new feature that actually allows users to customize and personalize your own embedded videos called “custom player”.

What’s in the custom player:

Edit player information

Change the color theme

Layout (a standard layout or the one with related videos to the right)

Content

I’m not able to embed the player with the related videos to the right due to my content width consideration. If you wish to embed your player with that feature on, make sure the width of your content is 780px or wider. So you may customize YouTube player in a standard size or with the related videos which shown as the image below:
