Reg Organizer is designed for complex maintenance of registry of Microsoft Windows operating systems. It’s time to talk about one of the most important features of Reg Organizer 5 – the registry editor. The new version features an updated editor with great functionality and improved controls. Apart from simplifications and interface improvements, the program now has a tree-view editor of .reg files, which works with the registry editor and enables you to perform the same actions. Let’s take a closer look at it.

Interface improvements

Many users must have noticed plenty of buttons of all kinds under the registry editor tab in the previous versions of the program. We decided to get rid of them and replace this chaos with a compact sorted menu. Working with the editor is much more comfortable now. You don’t need to go through an array of buttons to find the one you need. Just select the main element and click the necessary function in the menu. Additional tabs have been removed as well. The editor window has been simplified and is now more intuitive.




Reg file editor

A tree-view editor of .reg files now complements the registry editor. Like in many popular text editors (NotePad++, Bred2, etc), you can open additional tabs with separate .reg files in the main window of the registry editor.

You can also create custom .reg files with different registry keys right from your registry. It wasn’t possible before neither in Reg Organizer, nor in many other application of this kind. You had to create a custom .reg file (containing keys from different branches) by creating several .reg files and manually merging them. Now all these troubles are history and you can easily create custom files with any keys you want.



To add a registry key to a separate reg file, select this key on the very first tab, right-click to open the context menu and click the corresponding menu item. The program will instantly insert the key into the tab you selected (.reg file).



Once your .reg file is ready, just save it on your hard drive and you are done. It’s really simple.

An opened .reg file can be imported into the registry with a single click on a button located on the toolbox (it appears on the toolbox after you switch to the .reg files tab).

We continue our series of articles about the new version of Reg Organizer – Reg Organizer 5. As previously announced, this time we offer a review of the automatic system registry cleanup feature.



The new version of Reg Organizer 5 gives you the possibility to automatically clean up the registry completely without having to rack your brain over any questions related to the task. The new automatic cleanup feature is now available as a step-by-step wizard. All advanced settings are now hidden in the dialog box with general settings, so the user is no longer bothered by them. All that the user sees in the first window of automatic registry cleanup is a welcome message, information about the previous cleanup, and the offer to click the “Start” button. If necessary, it is possible to specify advanced feature settings by clicking one of the links in the first window.



In the next step, Reg Organizer will automatically search the system registry for errors, while showing the list of searched categories with the number of detected errors next to every category. If there are any errors in a category, you will see a red cross next to its name. This should attract your attention at once.



After the scan is over, Reg Organizer shows the list of categories with detected errors (and also the number of errors) and an offer to fix all problems. If necessary, you can view the detailed list of all detected errors by clicking the link below the list of categories.



You can find the usual table with the list of invalid keys that can be fixed in the detailed list. You can select keys manually, or you can fix all of them at once. You do not have to switch to the list of all errors in order to fix everything at once; just click the “Cleanup” button.



After all invalid entries have been deleted, you will see the last wizard window with the number of fixed invalid entries in the system registry, information about the backup copy of the registry (yes, it’s created automatically), and the offer to close the wizard window in order to continue working with the computer. That's how easy and simple it is in Reg Organizer 5. The program will be made publicly available soon, so anyone who wants to will be able to try it. We anticipate that many users will be surprised by how easy and satisfying it is to use this tool.

Today’s note is about the new version of the system cleaning and optimizing utility, Reg Organizer 5, which is to be released within the next few months. Below you will find a description of the Manual Registry Cleanup mode and important changes and improvements that have been made. Here is roughly what the program and the Manual Registry Cleanup mode will look like. It has become easier and friendlier to use.



In the upper right area of the window, there is a search bar. When you've entered a word or part of a word, the program will display a list of elements in the selected registry area that satisfy the search conditions. It allows you to find any entry quickly and easily without scrolling the list and reading the details. The search list changes immediately as you change the content of the search bar.



Another important change in Reg Organizer 5 is auto detection of the invalid entries when browsing the registry area (for example, file extensions registered in the registry). Previously the Manual Cleanup Mode was manual indeed; now it has been slightly automated to make the work easier and to free the user’s time.

Errors, which can be found automatically, are now detected by the program and marked with a special red icon in the list. By default, the red entries are grouped and shown at the top of the list. You’ll be able to fix those errors immediately by clicking on the special link at the bottom of the window. This feature is very convenient for users who prefer the Manual Registry Cleanup mode instead of the automatic registry cleanup feature which is also available in Reg Organizer. All you'll have to do is click the link to fix those errors. You’ll be able to spend your spare time on something more serious and important.



When the Manual Registry Cleanup mode is active, there is a small box with the resulting information about the selected group at the bottom of the Reg Organizer 5 window. It shows the total number of elements and the number of error elements. (You can click the relevant link right there to fix all the errors at once.)

March 12, 2009 – The final version of PL Table 4.40, the electronic reference tool for chemical elements, has been released.
The reference tool presents the periodic table of the elements. You can use it to find information about chemical elements and study their history. You can also balance chemical equations with the special chemical calculator, calculate the molecular mass, build dependency charts for particular characteristics, and much more.

The interface has been modified and considerably simplified in this new version of PL Table. Now it is much easier to work with the program due to the decreased number of control elements. It is completely compatible with Windows Vista and Windows 7, and Windows Aero effects are now supported.

The final version of the popular tool Reg Organizer 4.23 has been released. The tool is used to clean up and optimize the system registry of Microsoft Windows operating systems. The tool includes a comfortable registry editor, manual and automatic cleanup features, system registry file compression and defragmentation mechanisms, a operating system tune-up section. All these tools make it possible to keep the system in a good state preserving its maximum performance.

The Manual Registry Cleanup feature has been enhanced and some minor changes have been made in the new version of Reg Organizer. For example, there are changes in the names of its configuration files. Some very aggressive disk cleanup tools that have nothing to do with us considered some configuration files as informational garbage, which used to result in "Error in CRC module" and the necessity to reinstall the entire application. Besides, the bug on the “Startup Applications” tab in the Manual Registry Cleanup mode has been fixed: sometimes an attempt to delete an item used to fail to actually delete the item.
