Are citizens , slaves to the courts and parliament? Do they have to follow even if it is absurd? How can a judgement by a Judge who orders a state Government to distribute 9 crore books in three days be a man with mental acumen and why should a citizen take his judgement as one that should be followed, especially when the SC also has found the foolishness in it and made quick amends on it.

A day before the verdict is read, Stalin says the verdict and weeks before it karuna spells it out word by word. There is enough grounds to understand that the courts gave only three days time with a purpose of not allowing Government to correct the anomalies. There is enough reasons for the Government to appeal against this verdict and if due consideration is not given to this consideration and if the HC order is not stayed, what Justice can we expect?

What are the relief for any citizen who is wronged by the state? Is this world not our own? Is the UNO effective in safe guarding the interests of the citizens of the world? Is the UNESCO and UNICEF bodies of relevance? How effective can an UNO intervene if human rights is violated and that too in Education?

Guess it is time to find out the answers for these questions. soon.

TN Govt. will not distribute Samacheer books!

Either the Sc should not have accepted the appeal or stayed the HC order. But by accepting the appeal but not staying the HC order, is it going to waste the Tax payer's money by sitting on July 26th? What is further investigation if it is not staying the HC order?

But look it this way. the Hc order asking TN govt. to distribute books in three days was mischievous and the SC has rightly seen this and hence has now extended time till August 2nd. so that TN Govt. can wait till July 26th and then decide on it's course of action.

The Court consider's any Interim stay is not necessary for even if the order is negative Tn Govt. will have enough time before August 2nd and in case it is positive the books need not be distributed at all.

Kalignar TV says it has announced July 26th as date because of cavaet applications. Absurd.

SC has not upheld Samacheer kalvi for this year, as yet and has informed that the case will be taken up for hearing on the 26th July. But then it has refused to stay the high court order which means the new books should be distributed albeit now before August 2nd. Can there be any other more confusing stand by any learned people? If the court has accepted the appeal normally that should mean an automatic stay on the HC order for if not then it just would mean that Sc is taking more time to read out it;'s already negotiated and set deal judgement on July 26th. now suppose the Sc decides otherwise will it reimburse the logistics cost incurred for distributing the books before that?

Sc intervention should be based on logic and commonsense understandable to all common man, Common sense is in the side of TN government for there is absolutely no need for haste and there is enough evidence that corrections need to be made in the Samacheer kalvi system and curriculum.

Karuna's Tv clamis SC judges asked why the TN government is not hearing to HC and not implementing Samacheer kalvi immediately. If it is real then these Judges need to go to school again for it s obvious that it is not convinced by the verdict and that is why it has approached the SC. The SC has refused to grant stay on the HC verdict of samacheer and has asked to distribute the books before August 2nd, which is one reprieve and may bethe only judgement not written in the streets of Gopalapuram.

The HC gave a verdict asking the Govt to distribute in three days time exposing it's poor knowledge on education and also on Logistics. Now the SC has exposed it's wisdom albeit only in logistics.

All these are already in public domain and the allegations against Yeddi and his kith and kin are being contested in the High court already. Is there any proofs and logic applied to clearly prove that the crime was doe by yeddi is what to be seen if available in the report. Also it is the Government which has to decide what to do with the report, not some TV channel or Opposition, as per the law. So one has to wait. It may be political prudence for BJP to act on this opportunity but otherwise there is nothing new revealed as was already in the Interim report. If at all anything new is leaked it is the indictment of Kumaraswamy who now says he will give away his Loksabha seat of proven guilty. What a sacrifice and why not give Yeddi also the same excuse- if he is proven guilty in the courts he too will be magnanimous to give away the CM post!.

What about the Lokayuta indictment of the Delhi CM? What action was taken by Congress after CAG indicted Raja ? If Kanimozhi is proven guilty did Karuna resign as CM? why should Yeddi be responsible for his sons and son in law?

The father is a well known power hungry highly selfish, 'dont care about others' human being and is now using his well known secessionist weopen and is inciting students in a bid to whitewash the deep divisions in his ranks and also in a desperate last ditch attempt to outshine his Son Stalin whose probable last chance to take reins is tomorrow!.

After having brazenly duped the entire population in almost all aspects like Eelam, fasting, 2G , land grabbing and smuggling sand and etc, DMK is now brazenly asking what did they do wrong that the Police is after them? Every child in every nook and corner knows the mount of their crimes and it is no more easy for DMK to use it's media to hide the sins of yesterday. The more they try anything funny more they would be ostracized.

There are many in DMK and outside who feel that had Stalin taken over in the Tirunelveli conference, DMK may have captured power in the last elections. The Greed of the father and his family members has put DMK in a tight spot and the Old man is not giving up as yet. Stalin's last chance may be tomorrow and if he fails then he would have no alternative but to start from scratch. Alagiri will not rest henceforth and his father will keep undermining him.

The words he has used yesterday is not a call to unite students under one banner but surely a well crafted plot to bring forth his secessionist agenda and he must be hoping to stage a coup by that. DMK has always survived by inciting hatred and creating divisions among people. But to his dismay the people by and large are more educated now and know him well by now. Stalin off late is harping in all meetings that he wonders how DMK lost and AIADMK wis wondering how they won. Obviously for he still undervalues the people of Tamilnadu and is not ready to believe the wisdom of Tamilians who showed DMK the right place of a dump in the elections. By organizing a few extra crimes and sending their cameramen there before the police could arrive there, they are only exposing their desperation and frustration and it seems the party is going the LTTE way.

As Murdoch is getting grilled in Britain, there is a strom brewing in India too after Ghulam Fai was arrested in the USA for being an ISI agent for past 25 years. The FBI has arrested prominent Kashmiri separatist leader Ghulam Nabi Fai for allegedly being on the payroll of Pakistan's ISI, which funnelled millions of dollars to him for over two decades, and illegally lobbying US lawmakers to influence the American policy on Kashmir.

"I believe that Fai has received approximately USD 500,000 to USD 700,000 per year from the government of Pakistan," FBI agent Sarah Webb Linden said in documents filed at the court. Up to 80 per cent of the public statements made by Fai were provided by the Pakistani spy agency to "repeat and disseminate verbatim," according to the affidavit. "The other 20 per cent of the KAC's messaging consists of Fai's own ideas, which have been pre-approved by the ISI but not provided by them,"

Prosecutors said the Kashmiri American Council was being run in secret by the Pakistani government. Fai coordinated his activities with his ISI handlers and often communicated in coded emails, the FBI said. Pakistani officials reviewed Fai's budget and told him what to do and with whom to meet.

"You are aware that we have been working together for the cause for over a decade now," Fai wrote in an email to a senior ISI official in 1995. "All these years, I have closely worked with you and others who came before you. It has taken us much time, energy, dedication, strategy and planning to achieve our common cause."

Fai is perhaps best known in Washington for organizing the annual Kashmir Peace Conference at the Congress. The event is billed as an independent forum for Indian and Pakistani voices, but the Justice Department said the Pakistani government approved the speakers and gave Fai talking points to highlight. Photo galleries on the group's website include images of him alongside Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.

Meanwhile "He has been figuring in lots of things in the past, like what US has already conveyed, the diversion of ISI funds for anti-national activities in India and particularly in Jammu and Kashmir," Director General of Police Kuldeep Khoda told reporters

OK now this Ghulam Fai was frequently seen with Justice Sachar , Kuldip Nayaar etc and many including Ms. Harinder Baweja Editor News, Tehelka, Mr. Siddharth Varadarajan The Hindu,, Mr. Tapan Bose Filmmaker Mr. T. Kumar Amnesty International , Prof. (Dr.) Angana Chatterji Scholar-activist, Mr. Ved Bhasin Editor-in-Chief, Kashmir Times, Jammu, Mr. Gautam Navlakha Editor, Economic & Political Weekly, New Delhi and Pandit Jatinder Bakhshi President, J&K Forum for Peace & Reconciliation were invited for the Kasmir peace conference whose list was apporoved by pakistani Government. So it is obvious that each have had at least one journey in their lifes sponsored by ISI and who knows how many journeys and what else was enjoyed by the likes of Sachar!. No wonder his report is so divisive and with wrong facts.

DMK's Anbalagan has filled a case asking retd. justice Thangavelu be relieved from probing the scams in new Secretariat in Chennai and believe me the main reason he has proposed is that he cannot deliver justice as he ruled in favor of Jayalalitha in Tansi case. By admitting the case on this grounds, the courts also have inadvertently admitted that the judges from Tamilnadu may be biased!. So tomorrow Jaya can contest that the two judges who ruled samcheer verdict ditto as per Karuna's words and whose verdict was made known to Stalin 24 hours in advance be exempted from any cases involving her or the Government!.

It is a fact that DMK had left no institution above board and had dumped Police, courts, educational Institutions, coop banks, Transport sector etc with all inferior and biased men who are now creating nuisance and chaos. The Srilankan Tamils lost because they followed Karuna blindly. Hope the inland Tamils will learn lessons and even those very few who still follow him return to senses and make Tamilnadu the best place to live.

It is obvious that one party wants some topic to talk in their conference which is coming shortly and that is why all these are perhaps organized. the people are very confident that the Government will soon act, catch the criminals, expose the plot and also ensure that these do not happen in future. It is obvious that certain black sheep in the Police too may be helping this plot.

This is a very good suggestion coming in Timesnow newshour this moment. This will clearly expose any prior arrangements and could also explain how someone is privy to the verdict much before it is announced as has been the case in samacheer kalvi yesterday.

While it is a fact that most Judges are fair and just, it is an increasing concern that there are some who are corrupt even in the courts as has been exposed in recent past and as has Bhushans and similar exposed and alleged without any defamation cases on them.

If a print media reporter is allowed in courts why not a TV journalist? If the courts are televised there would be more fair Judgements and people cannot boast of a judgement in their favour much before it is pronounced, as was done in Samacheer kalvi case by Stalin. .

The contempt of court is misused by the corrupt who have somehow managed to get to their chairs in the court and they show more loyalty to those who made them sit in those chairs which is very unfortunate.

DYFI intimidated to create chaos in kalaignar TV

A DYFI leader was seen pouring acid and was seen intimidating and also getting intimidated in Kalaignar TV today at 8.20 PM. He looked like one who was always disinterested in education but acted as if he is concerned about student welfare and one can be very sure that he does not ABCD of samacheer and what it is meant to bring in. He said DYFI will go all out to create massive disruptions and work to unsettle the Government. Also one could see a clever argument that since SC asked HC to give a ruling there cannot be an appeal to it. Well if the HC does not follow the SC ruling there is an appeal isn't. That is exactly what has happened for the HC has ignored the Committee and it's findings which is contradiction to SC's ruling. Also the verdict was known minimum 24 hours in advance to the Opposition and especially DMK and that shows that perhaps the Judgement wasn't fair after all. Well if the SC under Kapadia is not expected to be unfair.

What is obviously unfair is expected to be yet again corrected by Kapadia and Team.

What is quality content in education? Tamilnadu specific!

When we send our children to school, we expect their teachers to be fair. We expect them to teach civics, history, political science, and social studies honestly and accurately. It is wrong of the Court to presume that Uniformity equals Excellence To the contrary, uniformity sets uniformly poor standards. Uniformity also allows meddling governments to incorporate politically expedient material into students' textbooks. The need of the hour is to allow freedom to individual schools to pick textbooks of their choice in accordance with the capabilities of the students and teachers in their institutions. Talented students should adopt higher standards, and students who struggle to cope should adopt an easier standard so that learning can be fun for all.

Can a student studying in Tamilnadu under the proposed Uniform System (Samacheer Kalvi)join in any other school in other States without difficulty? If the answer is yes then this proposed system is justified. If not, it requires rethinking. Already we have been denied Hindi and now perhaps it is the decline of English. The next generation may well have to be contented to spend the rest of their lifetime within the confines of Tamilnadu while the rest of the country enjoys universality.

How can the court expect a committee to certify all the voluminous books for all classes are of good quality with in a week? It is however possible to ascertain in one week that they are faulty and need repairs if not a discard. isn't that what the committee suggested? Then how can a High court veto a SC order to hear the Committee's findings and instead state the Government is acting arbitrarily without caring about the misinterpretation of the same?

Quality of education does not mean error free but all efforts ought to be taken to remove all errors and Bias. Here we see a clear bias and that too a political one. How can a Government tolerate a political bias , that too of their opponents in the curriculum? How can the courts consider inclusion of a political head's literature and his tainted daughter's scribbling as trivial and does not consider it as any proof of unwanted stuff in curriculum?

The Dakar Framework for Action declared that access to quality education was the right of every child. It affirmed that quality was ‘at the heart of education’ – a fundamental determinant of enrollment retention and achievement. Its expanded definition of quality set out the desirable characteristics of learners (healthy, motivated students), processes (competent teachers using active pedagogues), content (relevant curricula) and systems (good governance and equitable resource allocation). Although this established an agenda for achieving good education quality, it did not ascribe any relative weighting to the various dimensions identified.

Learning: The Treasure Within, Report to UNESCO of the International Commission on Education for the Twenty-first Century, was chaired by another French statesman, Jacques Delors. This commission saw education throughout life as based upon four pillars:Learning to know acknowledges that learners build their own knowledge daily, combining indigenous and ‘external’elements.Learning to do focuses on the practical application of what is learned.Learning to live together addresses the critical skills for a life free from discrimination, where all have equal opportunity to develop themselves, their families and their communities.Learning to be emphasizes the skills needed for individuals to develop their full potential.This conceptualization of education provided an integrated and comprehensive view of learning and, therefore, of what constitutes education quality (Delors et al., 1996).

European Report of May 2000 on the Quality of School Education: Sixteen Quality Indicators were identified. This report on the quality of school education was drawn up by experts from the Education Ministries of the 26 countries that took part in the Working Committee on Quality Indicators. This news is just to highlight how much emphasis on quality of education is given in most countries and also why the Court should give the Government ample time to identify the indicators and rework a proper curriculum and system WITHOUT ANY SPACE FOR ANY DOUBT, WHATSOEVER. THAT IS THE ESSENCE OF ANY FAIR JUDGEMENT.

NKC submitted a set of recommendations on School Education to the Prime Minister on 4 February 2008. The recommendations have been drafted after holding wide ranging consultations across the country with over 250 experts and stakeholders in the field of school education, including representatives of central and state governments, school administrators, teachers, personnel from DIETs and NCERTs, educationists, activists and members of NGOs/civil society organizations and private education providers. NKC recognizes that our country is too large, too complex and too diverse for ‘one size ﬁts all’ solutions.

The Annual Status of Education Report 2010, conducted by a network of civil society organisations led by Pratham, found that 96% of children in the age group of 6-14 years are enrolled in schools. However, the ability of school children to read and do basic mathematics continues to be a cause of worry.

The report found that even after five years of school, close to half of all the children were unable to read at levels expected of them after two years of schooling. Only 53.4% of children in class-V could read the class-II texts. At an all India level, there is no change in the reading performance. However, states like Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana and Rajasthan have shown improvements at the class-I level. There has also been an increase in the proportion of class-V students who can read class-II texts in states like Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

Ranked the third most educated state in India on the Education Development Index of the Delhi-based National University of Educational Planning and Administration, the southern state of Tamil Nadu (pop: 62.1 million) prides itself for providing easy access to education with officials claiming 99 percent enrollment in government primaries. Nevertheless, knowledgeable academics in Chennai are unimpressed, and say that a sizeable number of the 53,000 government schools in Tamil Nadu lack basic infrastructure facilities with the result that the quality of education provided to 15 million school-going children leaves a lot to be desired. In particular government schools in rural areas bear the brunt of government neglect and apathy.

According to the Tamil Nadu NGOs Report, jointly published by 200 child welfare NGOs in the state in September 2008, of the 53,000 government schools in the state, 1,663 don’t provide drinking water, 12,907 are without electricity, 13,808 are without toilets and 17,035 lack separate toilets for girl students. Moreover learning outcomes in government primaries are abysmal.

Annual Status of Education Report(ASER) 2008 reveals that the quality of schools in Bijar, a BIMARU state is far better than Tamilnadu . The literacy rate, enrollment rate , teacher-pupil ratio and other educational infrastructure has always been far more better in Tamil Nadu than Bihar. but when measured by learning outcomes Bihar scores much better. Actually, for some of the indicators such as per centage of children who can do substraction and per centage of children(std 3-5) who can read std 1 text the difference is beyond imagination. While in Bihar, 62 per cent of Std 3-5 children can do substraction and 67 per cent of std 3-5 children can read std 1 text, the respective figures for Tamil Nadu is only 36 per cent and 45 per cent.

Tamil Nadu may claim to rank as one of the most literate States in the country. Much credit is given to the widespread availability of schools and colleges for the success of IT and other knowledge based industries in the State. But ask around at any of the organisations that are in the business and what you get to hear most often is that those who come out of our education system are completely unemployable.

The only way to overcome this would be to uplift the standards of education in the State, both at school and University levels. But in the name of providing literacy to all, what is happening is that the standards are being lowered year after year, both in terms of prescribed material and also in terms of evaluation. If the former is manifest in the quality of text books as is evident in the ongoing Samacheer Kalvi controversy, the latter is clearly seen in the high pass percentages and the high scores that these successful candidates achieve. The scores unfortunately do not stand up to scrutiny when these same top-ranking candidates join the workforce. How else are we to explain 100% marks in subjects such as English and Tamil?

With so many issues blinking and threatening us, a political party has been busy recruiting teachers only to facilitate it's interests in the counting rooms at times of elections and hence did not care on their quality and ability. Many classes are often seen without teachers or teachers gossiping outside at times of classes especially in rural areas. Time pass is mainly for the teachers and hence a habit for Tamil students.

So how can a curriculum bring in equality one wonders. However by effectively using it;s strangle hold on media, DMk has been able to make believe especially among rural and people from very backward classes that Samacheer means bringing down the forward to their calibre and thus making it easy for them to compete. That is why they react when it is denied. And once they find out that it isn't what was told, how would they feel and react is another worry for right thinking educationists.

It is a fact that many samacheer books are good in quality and syllabus and method of using lots of pictures adopted after lots of positive thought. However the effort is incomplete and hasty and there is also inclusion of unnecessary politically biased material in the syllabus which need to be corrected before releasing to students. All this requires time and if DMK is in a hurry it is because it wants the bias to be used to educate a generation and hence enable it to cultivate more votes by this ill mean. One wonders why the court is obliging to this brazen fraud.

THE QUALITY OF PRIMARY EDUCATION: A CASE STUDY OF MADURAI AND VILLUPURAM DISTRICTS IN TAMIL NADU, conducted by two Harvard researchers proves there are lot of aspects other than curriculum which needs attention before any effective learning is possible in Tamilnadu. The fact is nothing has changed positively since then except for more and more rhetoric and false facts.

The court should mean well organize a new panel and perhaps include opposition members too in it and announce that Samacheer along with overall improvement in other aspects will be implemented from next year onwards. That should avoid embarrassment to all parties concerned and no Textbook is perishable and hence perhaps the same samacheer books after proper inclusions and deletions can be used the next year.

Isn't it obvious that it is the Courts and the Opposition which is adamant in forcibly introducing a curriculum which is of a may be inferior quality and prudence and fairness would mean that the Government of the day is asked to involve opposition also and create an apolitical system which would work to improve the quality of education in the state without any bias or prejudice.

The courts will do well if they close the ears to all the cacophony, including this one and apply simple commonsense and propriety. I am sure they would Judge well. the ego's should be left to hang outside and time should be given to ensure fair and apt syllabus free of all bias and errors.

Who is sponsoring the caveat petitions and the frequent air trips of those who are putting them? Who is sponsoring the SYI and DUFI strikes and why? Isn't it obvious that those who have gone to roads to strike for Samacheer are paid and are people who are either bad in studies or have other priorities. Why is it that no doctor or scientist comes out for strike but only those who scored less in schools out in open without realizing that samacheer does not in any way means dilution of syllabus. There is an intensive misinformation being carried out by Kaliagnar and Sun TV and the Government needs to take corrective action.

It is evident that Judiciary succumbed to blackmail and pressurizing tactic of a few hardened politicians and thus 'misinterpreted' the committee's findings and thus arbitrarily read out a verdict absolutely not in sync with it's earlier rulings.

How can a court allege without any clear evidence and that too against a Government servant and claim that he drafted the committee's report and the members just signed? If so can the public allege that the court order was drafted in the streets of gopalapuram and just signed in the court without even reading it prior?

How come Stalin and Sun TV came to know about the verdict 24 hours earlier?

Why is this extraordinary hurry by a court which is famous for delaying all it's cases on a pretext that it wants Justice to prevail and wan no room for any suspicion that Justice is failing.

Isn't it obvious that the ruling, the timing and the dates given for distribution are a means to serve the purpose of karuna for it would make it impossible for the Government to delete the sycophancy articles in the book?

Money is spent and hence compromise in quality a law or a rule only for gullible Tamils?

Can the courts explain how Samacheer can exist in isolation?

Will the courts clarify whether Tamilnadu i9s in India and if it 'opines' it is then can it expalin why a tamilnadu child should be made to read inferior half baked books and why should the choice which is offered to other childres be deprived from them?

It is commonsense even to a LKG student that when the Committee mentioned that the books are not fit for this academic year it means the quality is a suspect and needs further probe and time for the same? How can the court arbitrarily misinterepret that this means no committee member is opining there is anything wrong in quality. In fact they have even pointed out specific mistakes. It makes all this very clear that perhaps the draft was made elsewhere and just like how the Judges opine it was, why can't people also opine the same?

The court's observation that the Govt. order is not a delay but scuttling the samacheer kalvi system itself sounds like a political statement coming out of arivalayam. Can anyone enlighten the people how the Judges fail to read this earlier and why did they waste the time of students and Tamilnadu for so long?

How can the courts rule that quality is not important in education? - So many questions are there for the people and hope the court realizes that people have started thinking and rightly so.

Suki Sivam today showed his bias in favor of DMK by asking two very cunningly timed questions in a public forum meeting. today. The event was 'we the people of India' which was supposed to increase an awakening in the public about the surmounting corruption and black money in the country.

Suki Sivam started well by citing how in movies we always wait for a hero to solve all problems and in real life too we expect someone to become our savior. he said we should remove this attitude and should become the krishna instead of byhearting Bhagvad Gita. However his words were not meant may be for the meeting more than projected just Three heros and the people who were more than the capacity of Vani mahal remained mute spectators whose only duty was to applause as and when the crowd chose to. How could a people's movement become without any real participation of the audience, one wonders.

Suki Sivam argued that people voted without knowing jaya was good or bad for her court case is still pending and he accused the courts for this impasse. How absurd can one get. Some use their mastery in words to fool an audience and perhaps Suki Sivam did it inadvertently or is it his way to show his loyalty to Sun TV- one wonders. Even a child in TN knows that the case against Jaya is politically motivated and the assets worth beyond capability is about a few crores which is so minuscule compared to any petty scam of a district functionary of DMK. The people voted knowing fully well that Jaya is a great administrator and corruption even if by her is minuscule compared to the Himalayan amass by his masters. His argument that people voted without knowing whether she is good or bad is absurd.

Secondly he wondered how two parties which fought elections together can be ruling and opposition party. Thank god, he understood that legally it is possible. But then he stated his problem was on basis of ethics and he holds ethics above law. Well even ethically it is possible and feasible and so far there is nothing to suggest that it is not working. It is a myth that the ruling party and Opposition party should be sworn enemies and only then Democracy will work. Probably Silapathigaram did not teach him this.

Corruption needs to be curtailed and also redefined. That Corruption can be eradicated and that too in six months is nice to hear but absolutely impractical. It is nice to rant and sob against the mounts of money stalked outside and inside and that too by the enemies of the nation but one is yet to hear how and what will ensure they are back to kitty.

All said and done, the forum is a good beginning and one hopes it turns in to a true people's movement without any favor for any party or person.
