Been ages since my last post :$ just finished my 1st physio session with a nice therapist yan ting~ got some stretches and core muscle building exercises and also tried some funny traction machine to loosen the tight lower back muscles~

CNY Eve~

Had been complaining about it that there was clearly no halfday off given on CNY eve.. terribly disappointing but it was just as well.. took the whole day off instead.. cleaning, decorating and last minute shopping in the most festive place during this time of the year ~ Chinatown!

Next stop was to grandma's place for our reunion dinner with the big extended family of 3 generations.

and thanks to 3rd uncle for he spent a day to cook up a feast for everyone~

So as usual.. CNY is about visiting relatives, exchanging good wishes and ang pows.. * very embarassing to still be receiving ang pows at this age.. but.. thats one of the privileges of being single~ :D* also lots of feasting, partying, celebrating, catching-up~ We all want a prosperous year in health and in wealth!

for the first time we also joined mom and dad in an estate 1000-people dinner feast! 100 tables of hillview and bukit gombak residents and their families, good food, entertainment and lucky draws! we won ourselves a nice birdnest hamper~ ;) learnt some indian dance moves~ haha!

Back to work for me on the 6th day of the lunar month~ arranged for a team lunch on the 15th.. also known as the chinese valentine's day. A time to gather again, celebrate the spring festival, hoping for more good luck throughout the year!

So far the year's been great! I even got myself a netbook (mom won it at another lucky draw at the dinner she attended). yes.. outdated.. i'm soooo "beyond technology" but i just like netbooks.. except my fingers are too fat for it.. ;)

Starting the day with a good swim at the pool~ both waking up very late.. ended up a little sun burnt under the 12pm sun :P

After which we made our way to a nice cosy restaurant District 10, hidden away from civilisation~

Lips been cracking and had no choice but to get some lip balm. Seems to have some special affinity with my beloved doraemon~

Hmm well it smells alot better than it tastes.. (strawberry flavored) thankfully it feels nice and smooth on the all cracked and bleeding lips~ :)

Headed to xiaofu's house this morning to finally learn how to do some proper eye makeup~ she's too pro! Now just waitin for my Taiwan trip to buy some MAC eyeshadow colors as recommended~

Alredi can't control my urge to shop!! Just 1 more mth and I will unleash my remaining potential in Taipei~ these bling pinkie shoes were too pretty to resist :$

Got home and helped dad with some DIY hair dye! So proud :) I think I did it better than mom cos the greys are all gone! But got dye all over my nails now :P

not really wanting anyone to know that i was getting older i had kept very hush.. but little did i know that shiv's coming to wish me in the morning would trigger my neighbour's attention (my neighbour being the team treasurer for bday celebrations hehee~)

we had a solemn meeting that morning where our senior manager addressed rumours abt layoffs.. and then at 5pm, there was suddenly another meeting.. *scary* and i was very very trusting.. until... i followed the girls to the pantry...

Spent my very nice public holiday at home doing some room cleaning..
changed the bedsheets, cleared the huge stack of letters, and bills and.. *faintz*
walked wang today.. and he sneaked up on this baby husky that just moved into the 1st floor unit across the pool! both me and the other owner chasing 2 doggies across the compound.. *super embarassed!!!* i'm so angry with wangwang now.. :(

Finally, i'm finding some time to blog about our 2 visits to HAN KA RAM at the building Eugene works at. Also cos i was cleaning up my table today, and i finally found the receipt!! hee :$

Nice and cosy place with authentic korean food. Owner is Korean, nice and friendly :)
Food is affordable and comes in nice big portions. Best part is when the bill comes, there is no service charge no GST!

Ever tried the food at 红锅? I always love to try new stuff and thanks to friends who also do the same that i had to good fortune to try 红锅 at the basement of Bugis Junction (between Crystal Jade & Billy Bombers)

The uniqueness is the food is actually cooked in your boiling hot soup after it is being served. You can also order a few sides to share with friends ;)

Been ages since we had a KTV session!
Thanks to SP we finally had a nice gathering to celebrate her bday and sing to our hearts' content @ party world liang court!

Got the cheese chiffon cake from Tampopo deli after reading great reviews about it! Really nice! very light! But advice is to order 2 or 3 days in advance if you wanted a different flavour else choices are limited!

Adding to my list of cheap and tasty lunch options in Dhoby Ghaut~

Had originally intended to queue for Mee Siam but the drumstick looked too tempting.. i had to give it a try. For $4 you get a super nice crispy chicken drumstick and an egg with Pandan flavoured rice. Chilli was good too~ Hmm the cucumber looked a little dry I didn't wanna eat it.. :P Could have been sitting there all day.

Well this is definitely worth it! Again @ Plaza Singapura B2 I've spotted another cheap and tasty eat!

For about 2 weeks Singapore was affected by the haze caused by the forest fires in Indonesia.. has been a long time since the index went past the unhealthy range...

Taken one morning while going to the mrt and i realised the sun had been heavily "clouded" by haze

Singapore looking terribly yellow and grey.. photos look like they were taken some 20 yrs ago..

Been super busy and also lazy to blog.. Surprisingly the 3G connection here in orchard sucks.. Took ages to get connected..

Finally my #4 choice! Bulgolgi Chicken rice set priced at $4.50 from Seoul Street Food @ plaza singapura basement 2. Cheap and good! The kimchi tastes authentic. Maybe the Bulgolgi chicken tastes more like Teriyaki chicken but I like it anyhows :)

#3 - Vegetarian food at Kopitiam PS

Might think vege food is not really up to your liking.. but to ur surprise this stall has a bit of tricks up the cook's sleeve~

We might like some meat dishes cos of the way its cooked, the sauce and all.. e.g theres a common dish of steamed fish, tofu with salted veg, they've replaced fish with abalone mushroom. For people that are converting, and if u find urself craving for some meat dish cos I did too, this stall is perfect! Its perfectly fine having the meats replaced with some vege, tofu, mushrooms or mock meats (not too healthy though). At least for me i realised its really the sauces that make the difference.

All in all, this is highly recommended, for brown rice and 3 dishes, its $4.00 with 10% discount if you have the kopitiam card. Also comes with free soup! Soup differs from day to day though :)

What's with the long queues @ KOI??

With some patience, me and dearie queued up for a chance to get the recently crazily popular KOI bubble milk tea. Been seeing queues at every outlet we pass by!

Finally, ok it's great if u like pearls cos they give tons of it! So it's filling! -_- the cup is made of super good quality plastic compared to what u get at each a cup. The straws are wrapped up nicely in more plastic. Well the tea is real tea so if u like some real tea, this is good.

But I'm happy to say, Eskimo is still better for those that have not tried it. Minus the good quality plastics, the tea is great, the pudding milk tea is fantastic! U can also choose ur preferred sugar level. There's only 2 outlets at the moment though, one at dhoby ghaut xchange and another at raffles place market street. :)
