This time around, we won’t see the ladies sitting in the same room with each other revisiting the highlights of the season since some of the ladies refused to be in the same room with each other because of all the feuding that occurred between them.
It is a great weekend here in New York City, as the New York Giants face off against the New England Patriots in Indianopolis, IN. CherryOnTop is giving you the scoop on some NY Giants bars, Super Bowl parties, tips and recipes to do ‘Big Blue Weekend’ right!

Every bar in the Tri-State Area will have the Superbowl LIVE on every flat-screen with surround sound booming. If you are looking for a bar, that paints the only color that matters, RED, WHITE, and BLUE, check them out! The owners and staff are DIE HARD fans and GIANTS memorabilia is covered all over!

The East End Bar & Grill: 1664 1st Ave.
The Hill: 416 3rd Ave.
Tonic East: 411 3rd Ave.
The Bull Pen: 1678 1st Ave.

If you are planning to host your own Super Bowl party, check out CBSNews‘ Do’s and Dont’s on a successful Super Bowl party!

DO – Adjust your TV before your guests arrive. Make sure the colors are at their optimum and that the team colors really shine. Make sure, if you have it, that the HD channel for the game is cued up, and if you have a format you want them to watch on, say letterbox or widescreen, make sure you are already good to go.

DO – DVR the game. You can’t rely on the announcers to cue up all of the replays you are going to want to watch. So if there is a flag on the play and you want to rewatch the moment, you can. Have a Super Bowl ad that has left you speechless? Rewind it.

DON’T – Leave valuables and furniture around the living or TV room where you are going to be watching. You want people to feel comfortable jumping around, and making noise. That means that obstacles have to be removed from the couch to the television. And if people are going to be making a fuss, you probably want to put away those valuable family heirlooms that might be important.

DO – Decorate! Get some NY Giants flags, helmets, bobble headed dolls, jerseys, footballs. Break out that silly sombrero chip and dip bowl, paper napkins in team colors. However you want to focus your decoration, make it fun, go crazy and make it football.

DO – Have EVERY guest turn their keys over to a big bowl as they walk in. That way everyone’s keys are in one place in case one car is blocking another and someone has to leave early. It also allows you to keep an eye on who has over-indulged as the guests leave. Know who is sober at your party, that way you can use them to give rides. Also, have a phone number to a cab service at the ready in case you have a tipsy friend who can’t get a ride.

Also, check out Food Network stars, Pat and Gina Neelys’ Super Bowl recipes!

Pat's Famous Hot Wings
Grilled Potato Skins

BE RESPONSIBLE: Don’t drive and drive.

FACT: Researchers say that domestic violence increases on Super Bowl Sunday. Remember guys, It’s only a game.

Enjoy this weekend and the hilarious commercials!

From time to time, we ask our friends at various media outlets what they think about hot topics of the entertainment industry. These are people who are ‘OnTop’ of their game, and you should be too. Here’s what they had to say:

What’s your ideal result for the Super Bowl?

Kimmi Cupcakes – Gwinin TV

“I usually go for the teams with the best looking players and I got my money on Devin Thomas and the Giants. Lawd have mercy is he gorg!!”

Sean Malcolm – seanmalcolm.com

“My ideal Super Bowl would be the Giants and Patriots deadlocked at a 0-0 tie with a power outage at Lucas Oil Satdium causing the game unable to play and finish…I’m a Jets fan so this game is the worst possible scenario for me. #SucksToBeAJetsFan”

Dan Spritz – COT Entertainment Editor

“I’m from Boston, and the loss 4 years ago hit me hard. All I want is a win. Some good commercials would be nice too, that Ferris Buller spot didn’t do it for me.”

7.5 out of 10 cherries

Creepy antique monkey dolls. An isolated village full of unnaturally somber children. A crumbling manor house in the marshes, cut off from the mainland during high tide. The Woman in Black, directed by James Watkins (Eden Lake) and based on the novel by best-selling mystery novelist Susan Hill, is a turn-of-the-century period piece that exudes a wonderfully eerie atmosphere. Like many horror films, The Woman in Black occasionally falls back on cheap camera tricks and clichés. Still, with a strong script by Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass) and powerful performances by Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter, obviously), Ciarán Hinds (The Debt) and Janet McTeer (Albert Nobbs), this gothic ghost story will have your spine tingling with delight.

Radcliffe stars as Arthur Kipps, a young lawyer sent to the remote village of Crythin Gifford to sort out the estate of the recently deceased Mrs. Alice Drablow of Eel Marsh House. Kipps, a struggling single father still mourning the death of his wife Stella (Sophie Stuckey) but under pressure to perform from his London law firm, sticks to his task even though the whole village seems superstitiously set against his presence there. With the help of a wealthy local couple, Sam Daily (Hinds) and his wife (McTeer), Kipps delves into the secrets of the Drablow family and seeks to end the terrible vengeance that the mysterious woman in black exacts on the village children.

The Woman in Black weds the suspenseful English gothic genre à la Masterpiece Theatre with modern filmmaking techniques and an edge of malice right out of the modern Japanese horror playbook (The Grudge, anyone?). It’s not quite a perfect film. Watkins relies more than he needs to on jump scares and loud noises. In the decaying manor, Arthur Kipps has the run of one of the largest, creakiest, most antique-choked repositories of back story imaginable; yet, The Woman in Black fails to fully develop the Drablow family’s tragic history. Maybe the ghost feels so full of rage because most of her back story ended up on the cutting room floor. Just a theory.

The chief reason not to miss The Woman in Black? The darkly delicious ambiance. This supernatural thriller lovingly incorporates every uncanny detail a horror movie fan could wish for. From voices in the fog to prophetic mynah birds to solemn children’s faces peering out of windows, omens abound. The inhabitants of Crythin Gifford are as oddball and secretive as those in the brilliant original Wicker Man. The surrounding landscape, beautifully captured by cinematographer Tim Maurice-Jones (Revolver), is gorgeous, damp and forlorn, while Eel Marsh House, at the end of a long, narrow, twisting road that vanishes beneath black water most of the day, is appropriately forbidding. The manor overflows with crinkled papers bearing enigmatic scrawls and contains an awesome assemblage of terrifying Victorian playthings: Scary wind-up monkeys, creepy dolls and toy clowns with disturbingly human eyes. (The antiquated plumbing will horrify you as well.) You’ll find your eyes drawn to mirrors and windows and shadows, and your ears pricked for ghostly voices. With subtle references to the spiritualism and séances popular in this period, Watkins has created a convincing world for ghosts to roam.

Heightening the air of mystery is the sheer Englishness of the film; the characters seem too polite to speak plainly about the village’s curse, and Kipps too proper to ask, “What the heck is with you people?” Everyone drinks a lot of Scotch to cope. Ciarán Hinds is marvelously grave, while Janet McTeer epitomizes the eccentric gentlewoman, with her little dressed-up lapdogs and spells of madness.

In his first post-Potter feature role, Radcliffe sheds the Hogwarts wizard robes of his childhood to emerge a serious adult actor. He uses his still-boyish appearance to his advantage as the young widower Kipps, wearing a haunted, harried look across his youthful features and cutting a very melancholy figure in his sober black frock coat with waistcoat and watch fob. At times Radcliffe even channels Elijah Wood as Frodo Baggins; with his pallor and big sad blue eyes, he appears both vulnerable yet full of resolve.

The Woman in Black is an excellent transitional choice for Radcliffe: Serious, suspenseful, a little tragic. The character of Arthur Kipps, like Radcliffe himself, straddles youth and adulthood; he is young, yet has confronted death—in fact, he is even drawn to it. “Don’t go chasing shadows, Arthur,” Sam Daily warns. But The Woman in Black is all about refusing to let go of the past.

The Woman in Black has all the charm of PBS’s Mystery! without feeling outdated; it’s like Edward Gorey’s The Gashlycrumb Tinies brought to life. The marvelous air of suspense and foreboding throughout The Woman in Black more than makes up for the slightly trite ending. And who cares if the ghost is under-explained and overly mean? James Watkins has crafted a masterful horror film in a genre full of schlock. In theaters February 3.

While some of us have high hopes for all the accomplishments we wish to make in the New Year, as time goes by we seem to get less enthusiastic. February is the perfect reminder to stay in check and make sure we’re living up to our true potential. Here are some simple mental notes to keep with you throughout the year:

1. Everyone makes mistakes.
When we mess up, it can feel like the weight of the world is coming down on our shoulders. It’s not. Take a deep breathe, think about what happened and how you can resolve the issue. It may take some time to work through a problem, but it’s important to remember that nobody’s perfect and nobody is expected to be.

2. Attitude is everything.
Have you ever noticed a stranger’s random act of kindness can really lift your spirits? It can be as simple as someone holding the elevator, or even a smile. Whatever it is, positivity is the missing link in many people’s lives. People who have an “I can make lemonade out of lemons any day!” attitude are the ones who are more prone to accomplishing their goals. If we don’t first believe in ourselves, who else will?

3. Learn to focus.
Often I find myself reading a book, texting a friend about tomorrow’s plans, listening to my iPod and thinking about the pile of work that will be on my desk in the morning. By the time I’ve finished reading a page, I feel as if I’ve only skimmed the surface of what I was trying to absorb. Teaching yourself to do one thing at a time will make the outcome of that focus one hundred percent better.

4. Success doesn’t always equal happiness.
I once worked for a very successful business man who had a beautiful home and family but rarely seemed to be able to enjoy their company. He was always wrapped up in work and burnt out by the time he got home. While he felt good about supporting his family financially, neither he, nor his family, were getting the emotional support they needed. Sometimes it’s important to take a step back and realize that not all parts of your life are connected in the way you might think. Figure out a distinct way to make them work on their own.

5. Don’t let other people ruin who you are.
Just because someone else has a bad attitude, doesn’t mean that you should too. Let’s say, the ladies at work are gossiping about a new employee that you have no qualms about and they all look to you to add fuel to the scandalous fire. Simple solution; walk away. Don’t change who you are or lower your standards just because it seems easy to fit in. Your thoughts and opinions matter. Stay true to them.

6. The past is the past.
If you are constantly worrying about the past, you are not looking to the future. Stressing about what has already happened will only make you turn into the boy (or girl) who lives in a bubble. You can’t let people or events from your past cloud your judgment. There will always be new people coming into your life and you can’t live in fear that they will all be the same as the other ones. Let it go and move forward.

7. Money is an object.
Many of us worry so much about money that we forget about the simple pleasures that truly make us happy. Make a list of all that brings you joy that money can’t buy. When you’re done, post it on your mirror as a daily reminder to be grateful for those miniature delights.

8. Stop comparing yourself to others.
Everyone has weaknesses and strengths. Constantly comparing yourself to others is not only a waste of time but can be poisonous and downright detrimental to the progress you wish to make in your own life. Stop counting other peoples blessings and start counting your own. Strive to be the best version of you that you can.

9. Stick with happy people who support you.
Nobody likes a Debbie Downer. Life is too short to waste it with people who only bring you down. Know the difference between your true friends and those who only want to be around when it is convenient for them. True friends understand your worth, value your opinion and want to see you succeed in all walks of life.

10. Slow down and enjoy the ride.
In the crazy days of multi-tasking, it’s nice to stop and smell the roses for a change. Our brains aren’t computers programmed with 6,000 GB of memory. Everyone needs down time to relax and really appreciate what life has to offer. If you’re feeling stressed and feel the need to take a break, take one. You’ll only be hurting yourself in the end if you don’t.

If there’s any truth to this rumor, our Mark Sanchez fantasies will forever be ruined!! Apparently, the NFL baller may be having a secret fling with Kim Kardashian. According to StarberryIcecream:

“…there are new rumors that Kim is getting it on with New York Jets pretty boy QB Mark Sanchez.

Sources say that the two began ‘secretly’ dating while Kim was filming her show Kourtney and Kim take New York’s FIRST season. Now that her ‘marriage’ is a wrap, it’s back to Mark she goes!

Our source spoke to SBI exclusively, and this is what she told us!

‘Kim and Mark like to meet in hotels for dinner dates and ‘flings’, says the source. ‘Whenever Kim is in New York, they hang out. They are very careful with not being seen together, Mark is seeing someone!’

The source also tells us that Kim and Mark are planning a rendezvous this super bowl weekend.”

“So are they serious?

‘Kim’s just in it for the sex’, says an insider close to Kardashian. ‘She has her hopes set on a bigger ‘star’ than Sanchez. But for now, he will do.’”

Mark may be a jock, but we refuse to believe he would be that stupid!!
