Bombs Away

So it seems while I was out a new t-shirt contest site popped-up. And they’re starting out with a huge prize.

For Tilteed’s launch, they’re giving away $5000. $3500 for a grand prize winning design, and $1500 for a runner up. And then after that, they’ll be awarding $500 every 72 hours to a new design. If that isn’t enough, they’re also paying $1 per shirt sold.

They’ve also released a pre-launch t-shirt by artist DaleEdwinMurray. The design is called ‘Bombs Away‘ and fetaures a crazy little monster flying an airplane dropping bombs.

You can pick this one up for $12 bucks – and it’s printed on a really nice American Apparel t-shirt.

It’ll be interesting to watch this site grow, as they’re already receiving some pretty awesome designs by some of the big t-shirt artists including Greg Abbott, Wotto, and a.mar.illo among others. Go check them out, register as a Tilteed member for free, and vote on some designs!

Sometimes I think that birds are moving in the direction of skulls on t-shirts. You know, in used too much. But then I see a new bird t-shirt that just deserves to be on a tee, dammit!

Wednesday’s $12 T-Shirt: ‘The Connection’ by duba on Teextile is a really interesting print. The detail on the birds is amazing and the textures with that background really pop. Another great addition to this newly established t-shirt design contest.

I like white t-shirts, but usually plain white t-shirts. A design really needs to deserve a white t-shirt to be printed I think. But hey, I also like ketchup with my grilled cheese.

Tuesday’s $12 t-shirt from Teextile features ‘Ghetto Slums’ on a white tee. I really like this print. The simple lines in that design really pop out on the white background. I think this is a really neat-o (yeah, neat-o) design.

I really like the style of the designs by brownbair over at Teextile. ‘Flying Robot’ uses some really nice half-tones. The lines are crisp and it’s a unique design on this t-shirt.I believe this is brownbair’s second design printed.

My wife ordered one so I’m interested in seeing how it looks printed. I’ll post pictures.

I generally like more t-shirt designs from Uneetee than not – sometimes they’re hit and miss. This one is a total hit. I think it’s simple and smart and really uses the canvas of the t-shirt really well.

That’s like 5 t-shirts for $25 bucks. Or 18 t-shirts for $90! Or 111 t-shirts for $555!!!

Billing it as their ‘Spring Cleaning Sale,’ Threadless literally has 100’s of designs listed at $5 bucks. This goes on until next Monday. Get em before their gone.

Now if I can just convince my wife to loan me 5 bucks…
