Got Your Revolution! Right Here, Right Now.

The song in this informative video is by Fatboy Slim and called "Right Here, Right Now", which could not be more accurate.
Sure, there is an ongoing argument about whether social media is an evolution or revolution.

You can argue what you like, but know this. It is a GAME-CHANGER, and it is "Right Here, Right Now".

"Get busy living, or get busy dying", thats the kidney shot heard
'round the world right into your business. Social engagement cannot be avoided; only embraced. How will you react?

For those of you that want to read over the statements in the video quickly or come back after watching the video to the statistic that most jumped out at you,
I've written them all down below.

By 2010 Gen Y will outnumber Baby Boomers

96% of Gen Y have joined a social network

Social Media has overtaken porn as the #1 activity on the Web

1 in 8 couples married in the U.S. last year met via social media

Years to reach 50million users (Radio: 38 years, TV: 13 years, Internet: 4 years, iPod: 3 years)

Facebook alone added 100 Million users in less than 9 months

iPod Application downloads hit 1Billion in 9 months

If FaceBook were a country it would be the world's 4th largest, just behind China, India and the United States

China's Qzone is larger than Facebook with 300 million using their services

2009 US Department of Education study revealed that on average online students out-performed those receiving face-to-face instruction

1 in 6 higher education students are enrolled in online curriculum

80% of companies are using LinkedIn as their primary tool to find employees

The fastest growing segment on FaceBook is 55-65 year-old females

Ashton Kutcher and Ellen Degeneres have more Twitter followers than the entire population of Ireland, Norway and Panama

80% of twitter usage is on mobile devices. People update anywhere, anytime. Imagine what that means for bad customer experiences.

Generation Y and Z consider e-mail passe

In 2009 Boston College stopped distributing e-mail addresses to incoming freshmen

What happens in Vegas stays on Social Media (Flickr, YouTube, Digg, MySpace, etc)

YouTube is the 2nd largest search engine in the world

YouTube has more than 100,000,000 videos

Wiki is an Hawaiian term = Quick

Wikipedia has over 13 million articles

Studies show that it is more accurate than Encyclopedia Brittanica (not to mention refreshed faster)

78% of the articles are non-English

If you were paid $1 for every time an article was posted on Wikipedia, you would earn $156.23... per hour.

There are over 200,000,000 Blogs.

54% of bloggers post content or tweet daily

"Word of mouth" is being replaced by a "World of mouth"

25% of search results for the World's Top 20 largest brands are links to UGC, user-generated content (aka social media)

34% of bloggers post opinions about products & brands

Do you like what they are saying about your brand? [Do you even know]? You Better.

People care more about how their social graph ranks products and services than how Google ranks them

78% of consumers trust peer recommendations; only 14% trust advertisements

Only 18% of traditional TV campaigns generate a positive ROI

90% of people that can TiVo ads, do.

Hulu has grown from 63 million total streams in April 2008 to 373 million in April 2009

70% of 18-34 year-olds have watched TV on the Web

Only 33% have ever viewed a show on DVR/TiVo

25% of Americans in the past month said they watched a short video... on their phone

35% of book sales on Amazon are for the Kindle

24 of the 25 largest newspapers are experiencing record declines in circulation

We no longer search for the news, the news finds us

In the near future we will no longer search for products and services, they will find us via social media

Social Media isn't a fad it's a fundamental shift in the way we [mass] communicate

More than 1.5 million pieces of content (links, news stories, blog posts, notes, photos, etc.) are shared on Facebook, Daily

"It's the econonmy stupid." -James Carville, 1992 :: "It's a people driven economy stupid" - Erik Qualman, 2009

Successful companies in social media act more like Dale Carnegie and less like David Ogilvy (Listen First, Sell Second)

Successful companies in social media act more like party planners, aggregators, and content providers than tranditional advertisers.

Social Buzzword Potpourri Poem

In preparation for a presentation next week to cover the social media landscape I figured it would be more fun to create a social media buzzword poem, rather than dully list hundreds of terms and sites out there.

In the spirit of collaborative community, feel free to add on some stanzas yourself!

Social Buzzword Potpourri

Twitter me this, Wiki me that,
Should I really care about a lolcat
Why’d I get poked on my Facebook
Should I blog on my netbook?

Has YouTube killed the video star
Or made it more delicious by far
Did Microsoft StumbleUpon Bing
Should I Digg anything Ning?

Widgets to elf myself and stock tickers
On Picasa and Zooomr, what about Flickr
Can I Cha Cha with mobile or just my MySpace
SEO, Messy-O Will you just Fixya this place?

Atlanta User Groups

Announcing AtlantaUserGroups.com

A resource for Atlantans to find and promote quality educational events that occur in the metro atlanta area.

Serving my second term now as president for the Atlanta Cold Fusion User Group I have recognized that it was not just my group but other Adobe groups and actually just other groups in Atlanta that tend to struggle with some of the same key obstacles.

With the help of other user group organizers, we are building a social community resource at Atlanta User Groups to help solve some if not more of the common issues listed here.

promoting the meetings, especially to newer and younger audiences

finding speakers and topics of interest in Atlanta

getting sponsors and prizes

knowing what other groups are presenting upon

securing venues sometimes in other areas of town

To address some of thes points the site was created for members to

Post Events

Create Groups

Start Discussions

Share Blogs

Add Photos

Those are just a few of the options currently available, with more to come as the network matures and gains the support of more user groups around Atlanta. Currently we already have leaders from the Flex, Microsoft, Perl, SQL, Agile, ColdFusion, InDesign and PHP groups starting to form our core while we keep registration closed currently.

Here are two examples of top quality events by Microsoft being offered for free, that you may not have known about without having known to visit their sites, or by checking the Atlanta User Group Calendar, which, through crowdsourcing, will include a great number of Atlantas quality educational events happening every month.

June 1 – The MSDN Sourthern Fried Roadshow

Join Microsoft Evangelists Chad Brooks, Glen Gordon and Brian Hitney as they present a half day event packed full of great information for developers and architects. Spend the afternoon learning about Windows 7, Internet Explorer 8, Silverlight 3 and Windows Azure.

http://www.atlantausergroups.com/events/msdn-southern-fried-roadshow

June 11 – Windows 7 LoadFest

A great way to get a head start on the training you need RIGHT now with this FREE seminar, so you can be prepared when users call you about Windows 7. This session will enable you to hit the road running on the latest version of Windows, or at the very least, help you find out if this is really as good as you have heard!

http://www.atlantausergroups.com/events/windows-7-load-fest

Look for future articles either here or on the site explaining:

Who can benefit by joining AtlantaUserGroups.com?

Group Organizers

Entrepreneurs

Knowledge Workers

Freelancers

Sponsors

Hiring Managers

Bloggers

Venue Managers

Catering Companies

Small Business Owners

Social Media Trends in Health Care

What are some of the social media trends in health care today?

A brief look at these statistics and trends in health care on the social web should help organizations understand the impact of engaging with social media tools to help in spreading their message. It does not matter if you are a pharma company trying to connect with patients, or if you are a medical education provider looking for ways to utilize social bookmarking.

Social media may have its roots in the trendy tweener population but is growing trees of marketing data that the health care industry can utilize to improve their message delivery and improve the healthcare information being consumed online in the social media landscape.

This video is helping to advertise the Health Care New Media Conference in mid June. I have pulled many of the statistics about social media trends in health care from the video and included them below for easier reading and comparison.

Trends in Social Media and Health Care

60 Million consumers are using new media to interact and share their health experiences online

250 hospitals use social media

93% of e-patients said that the internet made it possible to ge the medical information that they needed

Health Care Information Technology now represents a $36.7 Billion/year market

Search Engine Trends

93% of global consumers use search engines to find and access websites

72% of e-patients searched for medical information just before or after a doctor's visit

Facebook Trends

Facebook has 175 Million active users

3.5 Million users become fans of Facebook pages each day

Roughly 1,200 Facebook communities advocate for cures for different chronic illnesses

83 hospitals have Facebook Pages

Twitter Trends

Feb 2008 - 475,000 unique visitors.

Feb 2009 - 7,000,000 unique visitors.

160 U.S. hospitals have Twitter accounts

YouTube Trends

100,000,000 Million Videos viewed on YouTube every day.

131 hospitals have YouTube Channels in the US

Other Social Media Trends

77% of active internet users read blogs - Universal McCann (March 2008)

23 Million Americans have downloaded and listened to an audio podcast in the past month - Edison Media Research

Feel free to add more stastistics and social media trends, especially for healthcare, in the comments. I will also see if I can find the sources for these statistics in the future.

Cellar 56 - Atlanta, Georgia - Tapas and Wine Bar

Last night I had the distinct pleasure of sitting down to taste test Atlanta's newest tapas restaurant, Cellar 56, in Andrews Square. My mouth enjoyed plate after plate of some of
the most delightful palates and combinations of flavors from the kitchen of chef Paul Agnelli. The last time my tongue experienced such a sensory overload was dining at the famous Seegers while it was still in operation just a few blocks down the road from the Cellar 56 location.

56 East Andrews Dr NW, Atlanta, GA, 30305

Cellar 56 earns its namesake from the cozy basement like decor and list of 56 wines to compliment the wide assortment of tapas from the garden, land and sea.
My hat goes off to Chef Paul for creating a unique menu full of wonderful, sometimes soothing and often times beautiful clashing new and intricate bursts of flavor. Chef Paul formerly with the Capital
Grille and Van Gogh's brings such a vibrant zest out in these dishes, that while wine is welcome it certainly is not necessary. The foods and spices alone let ones
mouth dance in the pleasured assortments of flatbreads, cheeses, meats, vegetables and perfectly combined dishes of Cellar 56.

Cellar 56 Review at CheyenneJack.com

Cellar 56 Best of Menu Review

Cellar 56 Best Overall Tapas Dish

Herb Roasted Prestige Farms Chicken, Caramelized Shallot Butter
I have eaten a lot of chicken in my lifetime. I expected a basic staple chicken dish to be offered among the more eclectic dishes. Wow, was
I proved wrong. This was by far the juiciest, most delectable chicken I have ever tasted. Chicken will never be the same again after tasting
this perfectly prepared bird. I really wanted to report some exotic dish as the best, but this will shock you in its simpleness and yet mind-blowing
	richness. Wow.

	Cellar 56 Best Tapas Combination

		Green Chile/Prosciutto Mac & Cheese
& Guinness Braised Short Rib, Natural Reduction

These are not served together and individually they are great dishes that I think will be amazing when combined.
The Mac n Cheese is delicious with the spicy chile giving it a solid kick of flavor. The braised short rib was extremely juicy and
succulent with amazing flavor falling right off the bone (hopefully into my Mac N Cheese next time). Mountain men will shower up, shave and dawn a jacket just to get at this down home combination.

Cellar 56 Best Tapas from the Sea

Jumbo Lump Crabmeat, Avocado, Grapefruit Mojo
This has the potential to be a Cellar 56 signature dish. This unique blend of flavors with the crabmeat and avocados smattered with the Mojo is a treat.
Hopefully they will offer a small cracker with this dish in the future. In doing so, I think this will be a requisite dish for all new-comers to try.
Even repeat visitors will enjoy consistently starting their Cellar 56 tapas dining experience with this signature "get ready to explore taste tonight"
	dish.

Cellar 56 Best Tapas from the Garden

Grilled Flatbread, Roma Tomatoes, Maplebrook Farms Mozzarella
So good I didn't even realize I wasn't eating a boutique pizza full of all the fattening pepperoni and meats.
By far my favorite dish served atop their delicious flatbread options and the top dish from the garden menu.

	Cellar 56 Best Tapas Dessert

Coconut Cream Pie
Dessert came by the time my mouth had wound its way through the dizzying array of all of Chef Paul's
flavors from the garden, land and sea. I was not sure if I would be able to take on much more. Then I dived into the coconut creme pie. It was
amazing and so delicious, I wanted to be like a real cow and fill my other 6 stomachs with this delightful dish. Even those that did like coconut at the table still raved about this sweet. This pie now tops my list beating out the Haupia Mud Pie found on the North Shore of Hawaii.

Cellar 56 Review at CheyenneJack.com

Cellar 56 Sweet Menu Review - $3

Best of Dessert Tapas - Coconut Cream Pie
Dessert came by the time my mouth had wound its way through the
dizzying array of all of Chef Paul's flavors from the garden, land and
sea. I was not sure if I would be able to take on much more. Then I
dived into the coconut creme pie. It was amazing and so delicious, I
wanted to be like a real cow and fill my other 6 stomachs with this
delightful dish. Even those that did like coconut at the table still
raved about this sweet. This pie now tops my list beating out the
Haupia Mud Pie found on the North Shore of Hawaii.

Blueberry Crumble, Gingerbread, Lemon Curd
This sounds to be a great dish. I can only speculate that it must have been superior, since by the time I had devoured the rest of plates, they unfortunately had run out of this treat. Fortunately, we made amends with another Coconut Creme Pie.

Oolong Tea Crème Brulee
Creme Brulee and all its hardened sugar splendor is a fabulous dessert. This was no exception, but neither was it extraordiary from other brulees. Use the last bit of empty stomach you have wisely and delve into the distinguished pleasures of the Coconut Creame Pie or the Caramel Bread Pudding.

White Chocolate/Caramel Bread Pudding
This dish was to die for and had I eaten it first, then it may have taken top honors beating out the Coconut Creme Pie. The base of this lush explosion of sinful delight is a Krispy Kreme doughnut. I am not sure how the transformation is made but upon that first bite, that doughnut goes from to die for straight to heavenly.

Pot of Chocolate
Pound Cake, Marshmallow, Strawberry, Pineapple, Sugar Cookie
I am used to the chocolate fountains from Atlanta Chocolate Fountains, so this dessert struck me as just plain "vanilla" but a nice activity-based dish that may be an excellent choice for that perfect date.

Part of 7-article
Cellar 56 Review at CheyenneJack.com

Cellar 56 Garden Menu Review - $4

Best of Garden - Grilled Flatbread, Roma Tomatoes, Maplebrook Farms Mozzarella
So good I didn't even realize I wasn't eating a boutique pizza full of all the fattening pepperoni and meats. By far my favorite dish served a top their delicious flatbread options and the top dish from the Garden menu.

Heirloom Tomatoes, Olive Oil, Sweet Grass Dairy Triple Cream
Saute of Wild Mushrooms, Locatelli Polenta
The mushrooms didn't seem to bring much flavor to the dish, and the polenta tasted liked tight-packed gritz. Obviously, I don't know much about polenta. The table did love it. Oddly enough, I think I still I liked it; perhaps it was the textures with some flavor.

Roasted Garlic Humus, Whole Peppadews
The peppadews looked like they would have more flavor than they did. The hummus was just hummus, nothing terribly notable. Granted I'm used to loving the hummus at Taverna Plaka, where you get to crush it and make it yourself at your table.

Grilled Corn, Spicy Aioli, Lime, Queso Cojita
The corn comes on the cob and is really absolutely delicious. You get two half cobs, so splitting among more than two could be difficult. We ended up just getting another order for all four of us.

Cornmeal Fried Green Tomatoes, Cilantro Buttermilk, Goat Cheese
Tasty although nothing really to write home about. This was one of my first dishes and I was quite hungry, so I may not have taken the full amount of time to appreciate this classic southern dish.

Caramelized Garlic Risotto, Aged Balsamic
A mixture of delicious flavors. I didn't even know I liked Risotto until after savoring this dish. Granted, I still may not like average risotto, but I love Cellar 56 tapas risotto anyhow.

Marinated Olives
The olives were not extraordinarily special, but they do give you a large amount. I'd suggest using them to really cleanse your palate in between each delicious dish. This would be a more pertinent dish for this factor if you forgo the large wine selections at Cellar 56.

Daily Cheeses
The variety of cheeses had wonderfully distinct experiences for your mouth. The honey comb on the plate to combine with the cheese was my favorite way of tasting the cheeses in new unknown ways to my tastebuds.

Cellar 56 Menu - Seafood Tapas

Cellar 56 - Atlanta, Georgia - Tapas and Wine Bar

Part of 7-article Cellar 56 Review at CheyenneJack.com

Cellar 56 Sea Menu Review - $5

Best Sea Tapas - Jumbo Lump Crabmeat, Avocado, Grapefruit Mojo
This has the potential to be a Cellar 56 signature dish. This unique blend of flavors with the crabmeat and avocados smattered with the Mojo is a treat. Hopefully they will offer a small cracker with this dish in the future. In doing so, I think this will be a requisite dish for all new-comers to try. Even repeat visitors will enjoy consistently starting their Cellar 56 tapas dining experience with this signature, "Get Ready to Explore Taste Tonight" dish.

Seared New Bedford Scallop, Sweet Corn, Nueske’s Applewood Bacon
You receive just one perfectly flavored scallop in this dish, but forunately it is very large and can be cut into 4 bites and shared. Be careful though, sharing may lead to many more table orders of this delightful seafood tapas dish.

Sweet Georgia White Shrimp, Tasso Gravy, Logan Turnpike Grits
Two very large, very tasty shrimp. I didn't taste too much of the extra flavorings but only because I think the shrimps flavor was so great it overpowered the rest.

Pan Fried Oysters, Cayenne Sweet Potatoes, Smithfield Gravy
I'm not an oyster fan myself, but these were quite good. The rest of the dish was extraordinarily tastey. I'm sure the carpenter and walrus to love would give it a thumb and a fin up: coo coo ca choo!.

Grilled Flatbread, BBQ Shrimp, J. Samuel Whiting Bacon
It took me until today to realize that we did not get this dish. Darn! Guess I'll have to go back sometime, starting with the lump crabmeat and avocado dish of course.

Flash Fried Calamari, Peppadew Peppers, Red Chile Aoili
This tapas is like a strange blend of authenticate mexican salsa and calamari combined. This assault of flavors threw me off at first, but started to grow on me just as the plate was replaced by more food to be sampled.

Crock of Mussels, Grilled Ciabatta
The mussels had a very good buttery flavor to them, only to be whisked away by the flavor of mussle in my mouth. I'm not really a mussle in my mouth fan, so I didn't like this dish much. However, someone who does like mussles and butter may enjoy tearing these guys out of their shells and devouring away.

Cellar 56 Menu - Land Tapas

Cellar 56 - Atlanta, Georgia - Tapas and Wine Bar

Part of 7-article
Cellar 56 Review at CheyenneJack.com

Cellar 56 Land Menu Review - $5

        Grilled Flat Iron, Chimichurri, Arugula
The steak alone is very tasty, however do not miss the opportunity to relish in a the set of flavors induced by combining the meat with the arugula.

Chipotle Pork, Corn Relish, Arbol Vinaigrette
This is a solid piece of pork with good tenderness and flavor. The surrounding flavors are nothing to write home about. This is the type of staple dish I would expect of any tapas restaurant. That is what I excepted of the chicken until it absolutely blew me away.

Grilled Lamb Chops
A steak knife would have helped to separate the meat from bone. You get two pieces of meat each with two bones. I did not find this particular plate to be greatly satisfying for your $5, as it just tasted like a small portion of lamb chops.

Grilled Flatbread, Duck Confit, Fig Jam, Point Reyes Blue
This combination of flavors on top of their delicious flatbread did not dissapoint. Duck lovers should really enjoy this and make them wonder why duck isn't an option at Papa Johns.

Grilled Flatbread, Slow Roasted Pork, Sweet Grass Dairy Heat
This was this least flavorable of the flatbreads. Something along the way was missing. Definitely try one of the other two flat breads first. If you are a diehard pork lover, then just go for the chipotle pork, which packs better flavor for your fiver.

Best of Entire Menu - Herb Roasted Prestige Farms Chicken, Caramelized Shallot Butter

I've eaten a lot of chicken in my lifetime. I expected a basic staple chicken dish to be offered among the more eclectic dishes. Wow, was I proved wrong. This was by far the juiciest, most delectable chicken I have ever tasted. Chicken will never be the same again after tasting this perfectly prepared bird. I really wanted to report some exotic dish as the best, but this will shock you in its simpleness and yet mind-blowing richness. Wow.

Best Combination - Green Chile/Prosciutto Mac & Cheese
& Guinness Braised Short Rib, Natural Reduction

These are not served together and individually they are great dishes that I know will be amazing when combined.

Cellar 56 Wine Menu Review

Over half of these wines are sourced from boutique wineries on small allocation. This brings Spectator rated 90+ wines to the consumer for an astounding $24 a bottle or $6 by the glass and a $3 half glass option.
The remaining wine choices are available by the bottle at various pricing.

I did not have wine that night, and would not be qualified to tell you about them all anyhow. If you are interested in wines though, I'd highly suggest you look up Gary Vaynerchuk at http://tv.winelibrary.com.

4 Reasons Social Networking Websites Should Go Corporate

At the Atlanta Jive Fall Road Show they talked extensively about social networking websites in the corporate arena for marketing. They outlined several success stories including Nike+ , a corporate social network launched in 2006.

Today, I was passed on this article talking about Nike+ and some of its successes. While a good article it feels more geared more toward asking "if this will be a successful model" rather than recognizing that indeed "it is a successful model" and explaining how they have become and will continue to be successful.

Corporate social networking websites have barely splashed the bucket. Here are a 4 reasons why they will succeed and change business and marketing completely.

Social Network Theory and Evolution

There will always be an unlimited number of vertical market communities out there. For every business, every ideology, and even a mohawk hairstyle a community can form, just like sea life does around hot spots in the bottom of the ocean. The goal of your corporate social network will be to provide that hot spot, and to seed it with a few community leaders with the appropiate passion and direction. These vertical markets have always been there, but with geographical barriers tumbling with the spread of the internet, small communities now grow with vibrant color and new ones form daily.

The biggest thing to understand is that with or without you they will form. So why not help them grow into the flower garden you desire instead of endlessly trying to catch up on weeding out the hydra of negativity that could swallow your corporate image alive without proper communal cultivation

Social Network Analysis

The data gathered from users interacting in a social way is an invaluable tool. Analyzing a market takes three key steps; Gather the Data, Analyze the Data, Understand the Data. Setting up your own corporate social network immediately resolves step one. No more random phone calls, mall hounding or endless boring polls.

People are doing what they enjoy doing; socializing and interacting. You are collecting that data without them having to fill in mindless circles and data input. At the same time you are providing a service and supporting their passion be it running or understanding a health concern like diabetes.

Social Network Software

Social network software is now readily available from a variety of vendors. You don't have to play in Facebooks garden, you can branch out with Jive, Ning and other platforms. Utilize the option to host the data and software yourself, and you will have step two at your hands providing a wealth of knowledge in the data analysis springing forth from your new community. You will identify new thoughts, ideas and plans your company had never even thought possible.

Example: Say 20 years ago you were Arm and Hammer and didn't realize your product was being used for toothpaste - you then turn around and create that product and bring it to market - a market you already know is thriving, exists and for which you have contact points ready to go.

Social Network Experts

All of this data analysis, these contact points and the social evolution of your community will point to experts you did not know existed. These key opinion leaders, vocal by choice in your community, can grow an idea, sometimes in seconds. Last night Kevin Rose of Digg announced on Twitter that he had a cold. Suddenly an account was created for @kevinscold and 500+ people were following his cold within an hour. Talk about viral marketing.

Utilizing their software Nike identified 15 key opinion leaders within their fledgling network. They brought them to the headquarters and listened to what they had to say. That is they chose to learn from their evangelists, not market to their masses. They fulfilled step three by understanding not only the data but the key influencers behind that data. That is probably the main reason why Nike+ has succeeded where some of the other early corporate adopters have struggled.

Begin. Now.

Start your community.

Cultivate it with passion and direction.

Invest heavily in the beginning with time and care.

Finally sit back listen, learn, grow and reap the rewards of social interaction with your community.

5 Ideas To Get Started Social Bookmarking

Here is another great tutorial from CommonCraft.com covering "social bookmarking". Social bookmarking is a fantastic tool that I have used
a long time now, and have found to be an absolute "must" tool. Learn how to do it, then I'll discuss other advantages.

Awesome right? No more wishing you had that bookmark you saved on your work computer after arriving home. Here are 5 more advantages.

People Benefit From Your Social Bookmarks

Want to know where my bookmarks on SEO related sites are... http://del.icio.us/cheyennejack/seo, or do you want ColdFusion...
http://del.icio.us/cheyennejack/coldfusion. Search them all. Check them out. I bookmark them mainly for myself, but if others find value in them,
then great. If others use them to get an instant answer to that site I was telling them about last night without having to wait on me to
respond to their call, email, or IM, even better.

You Benefit From Other Peoples Social Bookmarks

Whether its your friends tagging your username for extra bookmarks or strangers thinking you might be interested in something, suddenly you have
a human element looking out for you. This has to be a little bit better than just the Google "I'm feeling lucky" button. The other advantage is that
you can see who else bookmarked a site that you bookmarked and traverse through their similarly tagged bookmarks. Just the other day I found a user who
had bookmarked 100s of medical journals and sites after I saw they had bookmarked one our disease state sites,
CaringForDiabetes.com

Marketing

The power of discovery is a driving factor for people. They see you are bookmarking sites that are also of interest to them, then they check out
what else you are bookmarking, what secret gems you may have. The bonus being if the secret gems are sites you are trying to promote. It may be a
small impact, but sites like quarkbase.com and others are starting to show website value based upon data like delicious bookmarks, stumble upons
and diggs. There is also the fact that Yahoo owns delicious and these sites are fairly easy to crawl. One has to assume they play a role in how
the search engines order organic search rankings.

Organizations Sharing Bookmarks

Set up an account for your organization, and then let members know about it and have them tag relevant organizational worthy bookmarks with
"for:MeditechMedia" as an example. In this fashion, not only do members help themselves by bookmarking content for them personally, but they help the organization
have a long-term memory in their bookmarks. Delicious also offers several different views for your bookmarks so that you could automatically add
a bookmark cloud or other similar offerings to your corporate intranet. Several weekly podcast and webcast shows use this to have their links readily available for each show; and
even let fans suggest bookmarks.

Desktop Support and Other Bookmark Heavy Activities

Find yourself having to fix random peoples computers a lot. Head to their computer and realize they need to start installing the basics like
firefox, flash player, plug-ins, drivers, anti-viruses and spyware removal tools? Set up a tag for yourself, go to these sites, bookmark them once
and when its time to fix Aunt Edna's computer again, you'll know where all your bookmarked needs are without having to re-remember them all. If Aunt
Edna is kind of savvy, she can at least go to your tools and start downloading from your links. In fact you could do this with any kind of subject
matter as a tutorial for others to easily and instantly access.
