Oh yes, that is one old school street sweeper! In fact, I was not even sure they ever looked like this, until Google Images turned up this gem.

Without the accompanying words, this icon definitely is too old-school to be of much use to me. I wonder what icons that get heavy use today will be meaningless to future generations?

I came across this sign on my travels. This is the sort of sign that makes you say, “Is this for real?!?” I wonder if the Chinese to English translation is correct? I’d like to think it’s not.

There is a little known constellation that the astronomy nerds of the modern era use to navigate their world, if not their very universe. The constellation is known as Sagi-Larry-ous, the Geek Star.

A reader from Chicago shared this little snippet from the police blotter, along with the query: “Aren’t all accidents somewhat caused by lack of driving skills?”

I suppose there are occasional intentional crashes, but then again, those would not be “accidents” per se.

A screen shot snagged from the United States Postal Service website.

When you use their site to change your address, they charge you $1. Fair enough. It’s a convenience for me and I’m happy to pay, plus $1 is a pretty reasonable amount.

I don’t care for the attempt to make it seem like they are only doing it grudgingly and that it’s not really what they want.

“We’ll need to charge you…”

C’mon, you don’t NEED to. Even if you do need to send a charge through, why could it not be $0.01, or why couldn’t you reimburse me? I don’t mind paying, just call it what it is.

Reminds me of when Netflix basically doubled their price and then told us all that it was for our best interest.

Once the donated books go in, they never come out.

Either that, or the person who does empty the books out is a thief.

Those are the only two options I see.

These barbers became tree trimmers, just “taking a little off the top” as they shorten this small forest from the top down.

Next I think they were going to clean up the ears and shave the neck of the woods.

An alternative lumberjack approach!

Seen on the website of a hospital: “Perhaps our best kept secret is our location on the shores of beautiful <location hidden to maintain anonymity. Please use your imagination to fill in this gap>…”

Makes you wonder what other secrets they have hidden. Perhaps an underground training facility for mutant doctors, led by a bald man in a wheelchair blessed with the power to cure the world’s illnesses but  ironically unable to cure his own affliction.

Or perhaps it’s a hospital for superheroes? The logistical side to all those cartoons we grew up watching.
