Sad this tour is over for me. I really enjoyed these songs live, especially Slow Dancing With San Andreas and Palm Reader. This crowd was PUMPED and sang every song and did it well.

The big question of the night was what we’d get for our encore. Before the show the band posted a video with Sister Cities playing and the conspiracy theorist in me thought maybe we’d get something from that and we sure did. Dan told us we were the only crowd getting these encore songs (Raining in Kyoto and the old school Philly ain’t there no more Melrose Diner). What a great ending to a great tour!

Friday night crowd was ROWDY. I thought vibes were off at first when Michael (drunmer) showed up with his shirt on but it came off a few songs in. Balcony view has been great (I had second row this time.) Not much new going on except Dan actually pointed to the Jason Aalon Butler hologram during Stained Glass Ceilings. SGC and Palm Reader have been so good to watch on this tour. My last show of the tour is tonight and I’m hoping for a surprise in the second set.

The vibes were so good last night. Some highlights-it was Wyatt’s birthday so Dan had us all sing HB to him. Wyatt wasn’t feeling well so Dan called an audible and they played Wyatt’s Song early. I also finally got good video of Dan explaining the Beach Boys intro to Song for Ernest Hemingway. Last thing, Dan confirmed the SEPTA shout-out in Slow Dancing with San Andreas.

First night of the West Coast swing of this tour and for once the San Diego made me proud. The sing-a-longs were enthusiastic and just lots of good energy in the room.

Dan’s banter did not change from what I saw in Brooklyn except the city of course. I did record his rant about people not understanding that TWY is a political band. (The way he called them bootlicking m*f*ers was ELECTRIC.)

This encore was heavy on The Hum Goes on Forever songs which was great. Both lead singers from the opening bands (Initiate and Knuckle Puck) came out for COS and that was very fun.

Excited to see what craziness happens for the hometown Philly shows to end the tour.

My first time at this venue and I will definitely be back. It’s gorgeous! The album has been on heavy rotation in anticipation of the tour and hearing all these songs live did not disappoint. Dan was his talkative self and very emotional and this was a good thing. Really enjoyed his commentary about these songs and about the space itself.

This was my first of 5 shows on this tour. Seeing them in San Diego in a couple of weeks so more then. Didn’t film too much but all on insta as usual.

Just a couple of swaps from the set list in New Orleans - the opening (You Made it Feel Like) Home and Mr. Self Destruct. I sat on the other side of the arena so I did get a new perspective. I was even more appreciative of the Closer visuals and THTF. Just really stunning. The crowd was a little weird but mostly enthusiastic at the right times (did not appreciate cheering in the more intense piano solos). TR was a little more talkative in his nightly address to the crowd (on my insta per usual.) I had a lot of FEELINGS during this set since I have mostly decided I am not seeing another show on this tour so who knows when I’ll see them again since TR has said this is the last tour for awhile. There’s nothing like a NIN show high.

So right off the bat we get a SICNH which was a surprise in itself and then Trent did a little Depeche Mode “Stripped” outro. Then we got Non-Entity which hadn’t been played live since 2009! We also got “The Frail” which is beautiful but I always want to hear “The Wretched” after since it was a longtime live duo. The last surprise was “Parasite” (HTDA) in the NIN Noize set. No other huge changes in the set list or visuals. I did notice right away that Alessandro was not playing bass and sure enough TR announced Stu Brooks as the bassist. Not sure what the story is there but I’m sure the NINternet will have all the dish. I’ve got one more show this week but I may try to sneak another when I’m on the left coast. Always chasing that show high.

As an old I have embraced that my favorite albums are now celebrating anniversaries older than the age I was when I bought those albums. When Billy Corgan announced this series of shows celebrating 30 years of MCIS, I knew I had to make one of those shows work because I could already hear the dramatics of this album reimagined as an opera. The whole experience did not disappoint.

Everything about this performance was perfection. From incorporating the album art to the stage design, the Chicago themed visualizations, and even the costuming, it just perfectly matched MCIS reimagined as an opera. BC only came out to sing for Thirty-Three, 1979 and the reprise of Tonight Tonight which I thought was so great. Hearing the lyrics OPERATICALLY sang by other vocalists just blew me away. Galapogos into Thirty-Three just about killed me, I absolutely cried it was so beautiful. And MUZZLE! My favorite non-single of this album mostly because of the lyrics.

I observed the no camera request so no visuals but if they end up releasing in some form online will definitely post for posterity.

So Todd and the guys are still out there making a room dance for the entire show and we love them for it. The floor was packed and I was happy to watch the show from a perch in the balcony. Set list was career spanning (with new songs too.) Before Sex is Personal, Todd said “it was the oldest song we’ve made that we still like!” SIP into Conductor was SICK. And the 5 song stretch ending the main set was more than epic, just a full dance party assault.

This tour was in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Everything in Transit. Unlike most anniversary shows, we did not get the whole album in order. Instead, Andrew meandered in the way we expect him to and of course it was great. Mostly it was great to hear him talk about this time in his life/career because it really wasn’t a given that he was going to survive his illness. The crowd was pretty awesome with their singing and we did get Andrew crowd surfing on an inflatable llama so there’s that.

This venue was larger than Brum and that meant we got the full light/visual show. The setlist was back to the previous one and we got no surprises but it was still electric.

I love the Deja starting set! So did the crowd because there was lots of singing. We did also get a special Manchester outro - a snippet of Stone Roses’ I Wanna Be Adored. Really fantastic. Jesse also told us a little story about Degausser. (Check my insta for the video clip). And I’m still buzzing from Play Crack the Sky.

Sad that my UK shows art at the end but very happy I made it happen. I was able to meet up with friends I had made last summer and also met a bunch of new friends from the Discord. We also had an epic bracelet exchange. And now we will speak into existence a TDAGARIG 20th anniversary tour!

Before the show someone posted a setlist that was not what was played BUT as the third show of this tour they did mix it up and from all accounts was the best show thus far. They did not bring their full light/visual show as these venues are much smaller but stage production was still great.

I was up in the balcony in the second row and had a great view. It was pretty electric to hear the sing-a-longs and watch the craziness on the floor.

Jesse did talk to us a few times. “This is a strange job to have you never know if you’re doing it the right way.” You are doing it right Jesse!

I had somehow never bought a copy of this on vinyl (mostly due to talk that the previous reissues were pretty shite in quality). So when this 20th anniversary deluxe edition was announced I took it as my fate to get this one. And it is gorgeous! The original record plus release era live outtakes and b sides. The memorabilia was an added bonus.
