this is another podcast

With 4songs I will post four full songs that go well together
a short and sweet little podcast that won't mess with your head like
the soundonsound ones do

4songs #01

song one is California Bloodlines by John Stewart
The title track of his fabulous late 60s album.
sweet, gentle and plaintive a surprising album opener

song two is a cover. Deena Webster sings Hair of spun gold written by the young Janis Ian.
her strong voice works well here

song three is a hippy number from the Rainbow Band. Song of the Navajo.
this is repetitive with pretty corny lyrics but I just quite like the bend in the long note

song four is by Tennent & Morrison and it is called Take My Place.
yeah its sounds like where it is from - the early seventies. but it never got any airplay so listen now.

all these four songs are from the late sixties and early seventies but you probably haven't
listened to them to death like other songs from this era - hope you enjoy the mellow mood.

Streaming Issues

Just a quick update.
I am still hosting these mixes on free webspace.
It doesn't have fast download speeds and although
the mp3s are encoded at 96kbps
dilistening to a smooth stream isn't usually possible.

The best thing to do is download the mix by
subscribing to a podcast aggregator such as iTunes or simply right clicking on the title of a
post which is a direct link to the mp3 file and then opting to save to hard disk.
