Vikram-Ajay trilingual action thriller is in the offing

Confirming the rumours doing the rounds is the official announcement that Vikram will be teaming up with Ajay Gnanamuthu for his next, an action thriller. Arun Viswa, creative producer of the project, says, “This one will be a big-budget project that will be shot in Tamil, but also released in Telugu and Hindi. The content of the project has a universal appeal, which is why we wanted to release the film in three languages. Scripting is still on, and so, the rest of the cast and crew will be finalised by the second week of June. We are planning to begin shoot by August, and have already decided to release the film in April 2020. The film will be shot in India and abroad.”

There was a buzz that Anurag Kashyap might be a part of the film... But Arun says that no one has been approached for the film, yet. “The only thing I can divulge right now is that Vikram’s role will be a challenging one. Of course, he has always taken up challenging roles, but I think this one will be better than all of those,” he adds.

Shruti Haasan croons title track of Kadaram Kondan

Kadaram Kondan title track is sure to be a hit among youngsters as the song is catchy. The lyric video has been interspersed with some shots from the movie and Vikram is seen in a menacing avatar.

Vikram’s Kadaram Kondan will hit the screens on May 31. Ahead of its release, the makers released the film’s first single today. The title track has been sung by actor-singer Shruti Haasan.

The song also has a rap portion written and sung by Shabir, who has complimented Shruti’s unmistakable, husky voice well. The track is sure to be a hit among youngsters as the song is catchy. The lyric video has been interspersed with some shots from the movie and Vikram is seen in a menacing avatar.

Shruti Haasan on Tuesday shared her excitement about singing the song. In a video shared on her social media accounts, she said, “Yes, it’s me and I am so excited and I hope you guys are excited too. Watch this space for the single release on May 1st of Kadaram Kondan directed by Rajesh M Selva. Music by the very talented Ghibran and the film starring some of my favourite people. I hope you love it.”

Written and directed by Rajesh Selva of Thoongaa Vanam fame, Kadaram Kondan is bankrolled by Kamal Haasan’s production company Raaj Kamal Films. The film also stars Akshara Haasan in the lead and will mark the debut of veteran actor Naseer’s son Abi Naseer.

Music director Ghibran has composed the music of Kadaram Kondan.

The second look poster of the Chiyaan Vikram's emotional thriller 'Kadaram Kondan' has been released today and the makers have announced that the teaser of the film will be release on January 15th. The film directed by Rajesh M Selva and produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films has Akshara Haasan playing the female lead.

Itt looks like Vikram plays a role with negative shades, a gangster who rules the Malaysia underworld. Produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Trident Arts, Ghibran is composing the music for the film. Kadaram is the town located in Malaysia which was once invaded by Chola kingdom.

The shooting is nearing completion and reports are that the work will be wrapped soon in January. The shoot for the film is currently on in a grand set erected in Chennai. The film is slated to hit screens in April 2019.

Vikram who was last seen in Hari's 'Saamy Square' and is waiting for the release of 'Dhruva Natchathiram', directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon.

A special pooja was held at Thiruvananthapuram’s Padmanabhaswamy Temple for RS Vimal’s Mahavir Karna starring Chiyaan Vikram.

The pooja was for a holy bell which will be attached to a massive, 30-feet high chariot being built for the film. Actors Suresh Gopi, Indrans, and filmmaker B Unnikrishnan were present with the Ennu Ninte Moideen director to receive the bell.

As per reports, the multi-lingual epic will start filming in January with a plan to release it in 2020. Vimal told the media that the rest of the details are being kept under wraps. “We’ll be revealing the official details in due time through an event. We are planning to cast some prominent actors from Bollywood. A popular Hollywood actor will be playing an important character.”

'Saamy Square' to hit the screens on September 21

The trailer of ‘Saamy Square’ featuring Chiyaan Vikram in the lead was released recently and the film appears to be high on action. Meanwhile, it has been officially confirmed that the film will hit the screens on September 21. Shibu Thameens, producer of Saamy Square has confirmed the same through his social networking page.

‘Saamy Square’ is a sequel the blockbuster cop thriller that released in 2003. Touted to be a racy entertainer, the sequel will see Vikram returning as the foul-mouthed police officer Aarusaamy. Directed by Hari, the film also boasts an ensemble of actors including Keerthy Suresh, Aishwarya Rajesh, Bobby Simha, John Vijay, Soori, and Prabhu.

Going by the trailer, ‘Saamy Square’ appears to be a revenge sage between Aarusamy (Vikram) and Ravana Pichai (Bobby Simha), son of Perumal Pichai. Though the trailer doesn't give out much of the plot, the film seems to be packaged in such a way that it might work with the mass audience.

While it was Harris Jayaraj who composed music for the original, the sequel has music by Devi Sri Prasad. The film has been cleared with a clean ‘U’ certificate from the censor board.
