Tell your dog to look out for Sharks

Do you love your doggy enough to leap into the ocean and fight a shark to save it? Hmmmm I want to say yes but man do I hate sharks.

One Florida Keys man showed his love by punching a shark in the face when it tried to eat his dog, Jake. The rat terrier got into trouble during his daily swim off a pier, when a five foot long shark lunged and caught him in its teeth. His owner, carpenter Greg LeNoir, leapt into the ocean on top of the shark.

One of my new favourite things

Hi to all of you fellow dog lovers, sorry for the little vacation from the site but life got busy. Bosco is still as happy as can be and living his spoiled life. In fact I got him a giant bone to chew on today and that is all I can hear as I type away.

I wanted to share one of my new favourite things with you. A few weeks ago we got a package in the mail full of cool new products to try out from PetSmart. Now we all have our opinions on giant box stores like that but before you get all worked up, the products they sent are pretty good.

It was part of a campaign of favourite things for a pet owner, stuff to make the day-to-day life easier.

One of the products I got is called the N2N Poop Patrol. It is a little bag holder that fastens to your dog leash so you always have bags with you for those days you forget.

The bags are biodegradable and the packages come with more bags than other similar products. Our bags are blue but they also come in pink and grey.

They are small and a lot nicer than lugging around those grocery bags that most of us use.

This product goes for $5.99-9.99 and I have to say it is a great product for the money.

The Healthy Dog bowl

Ever get that feeling that you want two dogs?

For all of us who have a dog, it is one of the best experiences there is. They are truly a best friend. So why not double that feeling and get a second dog? Hmmm if it were only that easy. Lately I have been seeign puppys and rememebering how much fun they are and how great it would be to see Bosco have a little brother or sister to play with.

Of course my mind starts to remember all of the work and all of the sleep I did not get when I basically raised Bosco on my own.

Two dogs equals twice the work and puppy work is even harder.

I have no fears that Bosco would not get a long with a new dog but at this point in my life I don’t think I have the space.

I have to stop thinking of all the fun moments of watching them play and being cute and snap back to reality and remember the pains of doing it.

Expense is a big one as well. More food, toys, vet trips and boarding costs.

I have been told that having two is not that hard because they entertain each other but for now I think I like how it is with one chocolate guy who does not ask much of me other than food, one long walk per day and lots of affection.

For those who have more than one dog, how is it? I think I will wait til I live in a place with a bigger yard although I don’t want Bosco to get too old.

Ah the back and forth, such is life.

One of those costs we may hate paying but it is totally worth it in the end is home insurance. One of the fun parts of having this blog is when people find it and want to send you stuff to read or try out. A little while ago Anna of the Hachette Book Group sent us a copy of InDognito and it came last week in the mail. Here is the official blurb on the book.

Bosco is liking a big dog this week

Good morning all, it is Sunday and the sun is shining bright. I don’t know if you know or not but Bosco is taking part in a football pool where all you have to do each week is pick winners in the NFL. Okay so I make the picks but if they are winners, it benefits this blog and gets a lot of exposure.

This week Bosco is picking one of the biggest underdogs on the board to win. Bosco is taking the Miami Dolphins to beat the New England Patriots today. Crazy? Maybe. But that is just how Bosco rolls.

Top 10 least intelligent dogs

Okay so that title sounds a little mean to start with but I came across this list today that ranks some of the dumber dogs.

Now we all would never call our own pets dumb (most of the time) but you have to admit some dogs have a lot more going on upstairs than others.

My family had beagles growing up and they pretty much listened to their nose and not their brain. Funny enough, the beagle made the list.

Even as smart as Bosco is, he has his dumb moments.
