Spring is here!

This past weeks have get the first birds, flowers and butterflies

The first migratory bird have arrived
It is Whooper Swan (Cygnus cygnus), Goose Greylag Goose (Anser anser) and Gulls (Larus )

And also the first butterflies (Aglais urticae) on Lesser Glory-of-the-snow (Chionodoxa sardensis) and Siberian Squill (Scilla siberica)

But the have arrived little early because the sea ice is still about 10cm thick and you can still skiing, skating and have same fun

They have lot of food, because the snow have allmost deciperd at the fields
and were the swiftly-flowing water have lost is ice the can get same rest and food

The temperature have been nice and been up to +10° C at daytime with plenty of sun, they days it did not rain
At night it have been a low as about 10°C and same snowing

But the snow is definitely melting and the melt water soon runs away
and the lawn is become greener and greener at the houses

I think it is still a couple of week to early as normal
But it is April, so we do not now if it will be any setbacks

And a happy ending of the Easter

This past weeks have been very early spring.
It has been reigning and also been plus digress even at the nights
a couple of days.
If this is going on for a couple of more weeks
it will not be any snow to Easter, and it is very unusual.

But El Ninjo effects this part of the Earth to
and they think we are getting a hot summer this year.

In this beautiful weather we have at this moment,
we still can get out in the archipelago and enjoy it
with choclat and sandwich and get some sun

Have upgrade the site to been little more reading friendly
and alto added a Kayak site for things I have built and expired

Huge differens betwen coast and inland

Strange winter, big difference at the coast and inland with snow

that is so much snow at inland that the elk
have big problem to walk around.
They have been fond elk thats have starve to dead
because its so hard to get to the food, that it cost more to walk
then the energy the food gives it self.
It is first time a have heard about this phenomenon in this big scale
They have come across young to old elks and all between
It is always some old elk which dies every winter

The icebreakers do not have to hard, because the is is very thin
So i read in a paper that one of them have get in to shipyard
to upgrade some equipment.
That must have been first time in years that it happens, shipyard at winter?

The skate race from Luleaa to Piteaa in the inner archipelago,
Was a nice family party on the ice, It was about +2-+5°C, partly cloudy (Bothnialoppet, the first long-distance skate 45km, unique and for the first time arranged)

The wather have been from -20 to +10°C, sun to heavy snowing and calm to storm
We have had it all this past week

Snow, Snow, Snow

Yes
The snow is at-least falling down from the sky
The snow is coming vertical, because of the wind, more then 10 m/s

But it is -7 to -12°C, which means real cold snow which blows around
and give heavy snowdrift

It seems like it come later and same amount in a shorter time
But it still no much snow about 200mm, it still below ordinary 500mm,
the blueberry sprigs is rising below the snow surface

The past week begins nice with lots of sun and about -15 to -20° C
and pass to cloudy and -10 to -15°C, and it ends with snow

At the 11 March it well be a skate race from Luleaa to Piteaa in the inner archipelago,
Bothnialoppet, the first long-distance skate 45km, unique and for the first time arranged

Now it cold

At least we get the cold weather which is typical for this period of the year
We have been down to -41° C a couple of day the past two weeks
The weather is cloudy but nice

And now is the last icebreaker out from the harbour
and brake some ice in Baltic Sea

It's only 200-300mmm of snow, which is not that much
It make it easy to walk at the sea ice with no skis on

At least a normal winter

Have been cold 20°C to 1°C
Have been cloudy to clear sky
Have been cold snow to regular snow
The wind have been from calm to stormy
It have been a typical Swedish winter week

Still one of the three icebreakers is in the harbour
which is not common at this time of year

At least the Lulea city have ploughed a road at the ice
from the north inner harbour to south inner harbour
Lots of people have been walking, skating and Nordic skiing

The sun is no up from 8:14 AM to 3:16 PM
which is nice, the mornings been more and more nice to awake at

The cold arrived

When i pushed the publish button
The temperature went under -20º C
and under this week it have been -8ºC as hottest.

Now is the sun back begins at 8:38 AM and ends at 2:51PM
When i write this, is a beautiful sunset at my window,
I hope it will be a nice week with much sun
and not much cloud

In the harbor it is two of tree icebreaker still in
That mean the ice is not thick as it needs, in the outer archipelago
hope for more of the coldness, so it will be possible to drive car at the ice

Now it more like Swedish winter except for the snow
with no more then 2-3 cm it still low, very low.
No more rain in sight, thanks goodness
It is now below 0 °C and very nice days
Have not been so much of the sun days, very cloudy days
When the cloud has deciphered, it have been nice days
with the sun low over the horizon and 5 hours daylight
Becuse it not so cold, have not get under 20 °C
since the last report, the icebreaker is still in the harbour

From a intervju with a captin on one of the icebreaker,
hi remember that it had been so bad with ice in 1969 to

Have done some work on the blog,
Have done a mistake on the name, capital letter in the name

At last some snow

At last some snow, have been snowing for two days.
It seems the snow will be left for same days, veeks?,
because we vill have cold weather for a while.
Temperature will be below 0ºC
It is still very little snow, about 3 cm
But a god thing about it, the ice is thick enough to walk on,
It means i can walk out in the archipelago.
I seen forward to it. It will be god light for photographing.
The sun is still low on the horizon, All 4 hours it up.

Happy New Year
I wish everybody a god and event fully 2007

I have done a major update on this site, so it can handle maps and more pictures

After some hours, I get it up and running as i want. Have rewritten some code to get it faster and easy to maintain. Have get the menu in the gallery area to lock like as the start side. Also get the back button to work proper and done some work at the mapp-picture it self

Now I feel like a can start my feed, will tray to get ít feed, at least once a week
