Lots of different emotions in our class today as we talked about what makes us happy, sad, mad, etc.. We read My Many Colored Days by Dr. Seuss and then made faces on our plates that turn into happy and sad faces. We asked the children what makes them smile or frown, and had fun turning our plates around. We had music today and sang our last snow songs and enjoyed one last snowball fight. We played indoors and then had cheese itz and juice for a snack. Have a great weekend, see you on Monday, Miss Lisa.

Did the groundhog see his shadow? Find our poem and pop-up! We all had fun singing our winter songs and our last indoor snowball fight! Able to enjoy another fun day on the playground. Thank you Joel for the snack mix, applesauce, and chocolate milk. Thank you Miss Charlotte for reading for us today. We welcomed a new month today with a story about the Groundhog. We are excited to see if he sees his shadow or not tomorrow. Look for our ground hog project in our backpacks and recite the poem with the children while they make their groundhog come out of his hole. We also talked about all the fun things we will do in our new month and pointed out all the new decorations in our classroom. We had bananas, pudding and juice for our snack, thank you Gabbi. Gabbi’s mom read us The Foot Book at the end of our day, we are looking forward to hearing more Dr. Suess books this month. See you all on Friday, Miss Lisa.

Miss Mary taught us lots of fun animal poses in Yoga this morning! It was lots of fun and I was able to take some fun pictures. Back in class we finished our month with some polar animal pictures. We were able to enjoy the warm weather on the playground. During snack time we made some snowcones! Thank you Andrew for the cheese, oatmeal squares, and juice. See you all in class. Miss Linda

Lots of stretching to start off our day as we all learned some yoga. We had fun learning animal poses and wiggling around and just enjoying a good stretch. We said goodbye to January with a book about snow and then we made a snowman mobile. Come see it hanging in our room. More snow fun as we ate snow cones at snack time, each of us got a turn helping grind the ice. We had yummy grapes and juice, thank you Eleanor. See you all on Wednesday, Miss Lisa.

We washed away our germs and learned how to stay healthy! We talked about washing our hands with soap, sneezing into a kleenex and not using our hands to spread our germs. Two very busy projects are coming home in their backpacks. We enjoyed the beautiful January weather and went outside today. We munched on pretzels and juice for a snack. Have a great weekend and be ready for some yoga on Monday, Miss Lisa.

We were inspired by artist Mary Cassat today for our Art enrichment. Find our water colors of Mother with Child. The children enjoy looking at pictures of babies. We all took our time painting and I think did a great job! Once again we had our indoor snowball fight ( so much fun ) and sang and danced to our winter songs. We did get some outdoor play later in the morning as well. Thank you Mia for the cheese crackers and milk. See you all in class. Miss Linda

We finished up our polar animals today, we sponged a white penguin on the belly of another and decorated our polar bear with cotton balls. Our art enrichment was about Mary Cassatt, we read a book about her life and then looked at pictures of mothers and their children. We painted our own Mary Cassat pictures with watercolors and really enjoyed using all the colors. That project will come home on Friday. We had music with Miss Linda and had a lot of fun at our snowball fight! We had wheat thins, fruit bars and water for our snack, thank you Leah. See you all on Friday, Miss Lisa.

We had lots of fun making our Dragon mask and celebrating The Chinese New Year – we even paraded into the other classrooms and Pastor Sue’s office. Everyone had fun in the playroom. We concluded our morning by starting our science experiment. We are growing a crystal garden! Come in and see. Thank you Austin for the goldfish and chocolate milk. See you in class. Miss Linda

Gung Hay Fat Choy! Happy Chinese New Year! Today we celebrated the Chinese New Year with our dragon masks and dragon parade. We learned about the customs the families do to prepare for the 15 day celebration. We even made red envelopes with a good luck symbol on them. Each one contains a coin which is customary to give to children in the new year. We enjoyed our warm indoor playroom today and then yummy yogurt and cookies for a snack, thanks Hannah.
