When children start school the adventure starts until they graduate from high school. Along the way children need help with your schoolwork at least once. When my daughter was struggling in English she needed help understanding a lot of the grammar so I tried to help her with it, but being the strong head strong daughter she had a difficult time understanding some of the things I trying to teach her or we’d end up into a mother/daughter tiff over the old ways and new ways of grammar. An online teacher would help her understand while I could sit beside her and learn the new ways of learning English. I’m usually trying to show her the way I was taught. If I lived in the United Kingdom I could check out online tutoring UK for help with her schoolwork. It would help me teach her how to do old English the new way instead of old. Having an online teacher would help me get help for my daughter especially since it’s so difficult to get around with the lupus often. I could preserve my energy for other things instead of traveling across town, which takes away my already precious energy.

Dealing with the aches and pains from living with a chronic illness is overwhelming for anyone. I’ve been dealing with it every day since my daughter was in elementary school. Considering that she’s now a high school senior it’s a big deal. My illness has affected our quality of life in many ways. I’m always looking for ways to help with things, especially the swelling.

It has stopped me from enjoying the simplest things in life like going to a school function or being able to walk out the front door when a family out was scheduled. I’m always looking for a way to help deal with everything. I’ve checked out a several drinks with a lot of vitamins and nutrients. Drinking cactus juice is an option for me since it helps with cleansing toxins from the body. Nopalea is a cactus juice that’s been around for twelve years by people for helping with illness issues. 12 million bottles have been sold to help with the pain from inflammation from daily aches and pains. The goal of the company has been to help people feel healthier. Until reading more about the cactus juice I wouldn’t have considered drinking juice from the cactus.

One of the many things I used to teach her was printable worksheets. It gave me the opportunity to interact with my daughter. Doing the Preschool Worksheets while my daughter was young has made her a very creative person today. She still enjoys drawing and crafting.

I’ve been dealing with a lot of health issues lately. My hip was injured a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving 2011. I’m currently in physical therapy to help strengthen the hip, but it’s very slow going. I think the physical therapy only being 30 minutes isn’t given me enough time to improve things. I’ve been doing the exercise with the theraband I’m up to a blue band now which is great. I feel very discoraged that I’m only doing 30 minutes twice a week. I do 10 of each exercise and ride a recumbent bicycle which is really cool. I wish I had one at home. I’ve been working harder on improving my writing skill, which is fun. My two dogs have been really sick from an allergic reaction to Advantix. Now I have to decide which flea medication to use on them.

Until Next Time,

Chronic Chronic

Have you had physical therapy and was it helpful? How long were your sessions?

Taking medications is a part of the day to day life of living with a chronic illness. I’m pretty bad about taking my pills at the same time every day since I don’t wear a wristwatch like I used to as a teenager. I couldn’t use the excuse that I forgot the time since my mom always made sure I was wearing my wristwatch every day. She didn’t want to give me an excuse for not being home for dinner on time, even if she was hanging out a load of laundry when I got home instead of hanging clothes out on the clothesline attached to two different trees in our backyard. The line ran from one side of the backyard to the other. I really need to invest in a good wristwatch so I’ll take my medications the same time each day like the Citizen Eco drive watches with beautiful faces. I would need a watch with a large face since my eyes are not the same as they were in my teen years. I really love the multicolored watches with an adjustable strap for easy adjustment when I’m swollen from the prednisone inflammation, which happens on a regular basis. It would be great to find one with a purple awareness ribbon on the face.

I’ve been going through a lot with the lupus. I’ve been checked for celiac disease by the rhemotoloogist. Thankfully the test came back negative, but he told me I may have to go to a endocrologist if my D level doesn’t come back within the normal levels. I am hoping that it will be normal, but it hasn’t been since 2007 so I doubt it will be now. He mentioned it could be parathyroid which would have to be removed if it turns out to be that. He took 9 tubes of blood he’ll figure out what’s going on with me. I’m really tired of this vitamin D issue with the lupus it’s not fun at all. He ordered physical therpy for my hip since I’ve been in my wheelchair almost fulltime since November since I cannot stand on it too long without pain. He thinks it’s a pinched nerve causing the pain.

Has your phone made it to the landfill today? If you are anything like me you have several of them lying in a drawer gathering dust. I know I’ve got at least two of them I need to dispose of them. The only reason I haven’t thrown them away is I don’t want to add to the overflowing of the landfill. Every time I look at the phone I wonder what I could do with it besides giving it to a friend or neighbor. Now I think I may have the answer for the all my cell phones.

You can turn your sell used cell phones into cash by selling them online. The company buys the cell phone then sends you a check in the mail. A lot of the companies will send you a box to ship the phone back to them. Once they receive the phone they’ll check it out and send you a check for the money. Depending on the model, make and condition of the phone they’ll send you a check through the mail. Some companies even take broken phones, depending on the model. It’s an easy way to make a few bucks or eliminate a bill on top of the list.
