Die heute vorzustellenden Songs (jaja, es sind zwei!) bereiten mir eine ganz besondere Freude. Bei den Interpreten handelt es sich um ein daenisches Duo, welches in den 80er Jahren einige ihrer Kompositionen in die Charts bringen konnte. Nach 1993 wurde es ruhig um die beiden, bis sie 2004 wieder was von sich hoeren liessen und schliesslich vor zwei Jahren eine neue CD veroeffentlichten.
Die heutigen Songs also sind auf einer 12" enthalten, die voellig unterbewertet 'so dazwischen mal' erschienen ist. Schaendlicherweise kam es damals zu keiner digitalen Veroeffentlichung, und auch in den 'Best Ofs' fehlt der Titel der A-Seite. Der Titel der B-Seite wiederum gibt zwar den Titel des dazugehoerigen Albums wieder, wurde aber z. B. als CD-Bonustrack auf eben diesem nicht beruecksichtigt, wo der Song doch so schoen dazugepasst haette! Aber gut.
Gluecklicherweise gibt es Musiksammler, die auch Vinylversionen qualitativ hochwertig ins www stellen. So geschehen mit eben diesen beiden Titeln vom user 'Baerli' aus den eightiesfanatic Forum (Link links). Da bedanke ich mich grad nochmal dafuer.
Waehrend nun der Titel der A-Seite eine voellig unspektakulaere mixtechnische Behandlung erfuhr um die Songstruktur nicht unnoetig zu veraendern, hat der Titel der B-Seite ein ganz neues akustisches Gesicht bekommen. Dieser wurde von mir naemlich um satte 32% hochge'pitched' allerdings ohne dabei die Tonhoehe zu veraendern. Dies habe ich als notwendig erachtet um die Geschwindigkeit des Songs an den Titel der A-Seite anzupassen, und damit auch um der gemeinsamen Thematik gerecht zu werden. Jetzt haette ich natuerlich noch den Titel der A-Seite um einen Ton heben und den Titel der B-Seite um einen Ton senken koennen um damit einer Art Megamix den Vorschub leisten zu koennen, aber das war mir dann doch des Guten zu viel (probiert hab' ichs naemlich!), und so steht das Ergebnis eben fest so wie es hier zu finden ist.
Ich kann da nur mehr eines sagen: There's a party going on...

Today I present you a song, where the re-recorded version is way better than the original recorded one. Unfortunately this new version was only to find on a b-side of a 12''. But fortunately it was also released as a Single-CD, and they did a serious instrumental version too. So it was then pretty easy for me to edit this tune, that it became a very nice and easy listenable 12''-Version finally.

As I promised, here is the second song, which was also the second release from this music project (I don't wanna say band). Sadly they splitted up after one year of existence. But thank god, we still can listen to their music, and thinking about, what would have been possible, if they would have been played out their complete potential.

ACT! - like, ...you know? ;-) (Part 1)

Today I proudly present you a shorttime collaboration between PROPAGANDA vocalist, CLAUDIA BRÜCKEN and cult favourite electro pioneer THOMAS LEER. The pair released a handful of smart singles and one album before deciding to cut and run. Satirizing the glitz and indulgence of the entertainment industry, the first release came at a time when perhaps the public had grown weary of the promotional style of ZTT and just didn't 'buy' it. Ultimately, the duo suffered the cynicism of the industry they lampooned.

And why Part 1? Well I already now decided to lay my hands on a second song from this funny collaboration. But later more. Hi music.blog.lovers and a happy belated new year!

I hope it started as good as with me. It has been a while since I put a mix up, because a lots of changes are lying ahead of me.

This is the last posting I make while I'm in Australia, because in a few days I'm moving back to New Zealand, because I can't stay in Australia permanent but in New Zealand I can thank to my wife (she who has to be obeyed). :-) And I (we) are really looking forward to it.

The today's song is performed by the second band of the now ex-bass player of NEW ORDER, PETER HOOK. I only took the vocal version and the instumental version and made my own 12" version of this wonderful tune, an oldfashioned chronovisor mix.

Heute feiere ich meinen 45. Geburtstag und der music.blog seinen 5. Jahrestag seit seinem Bestehen. Schon richtig, dass das erste Posting erst im Februar dieses Jahres stattgefunden hat; das wird natuerlich gesondert gefeiert.
Aber was waere ein Geburtstag ohne Geburtstagslied, und das Folgende ist wohl das Beste, was man finden kann. Ich jedenfalls wuensche mir weiterhin viele Besucher hier im blog und viel mehr Rueckmeldungen als bisher. In diesem Sinne wuensche ich allen noch sehr viel Spass mit diesem music.blog fuer die Zukunft!

Today I celebrate my birthday no. 45 and the music.blog the anniversary no. 5 since establishing. It's right that the first posting was made in February; this of course will celebrated seperately.

Hello all!

Isn't it wonderful to present music on 11 of 11 in 11? :-)

And here we go.

Recently I rediscovered the music from an outstanding French singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. This did happen because I browsed in the www for movie soundtracks, and there I found 'Narco', a french movie from 2004.

And I also am a fan of the music of FELA KUTI. But what relationship do have FELA and the today's artist I want to present you? It's the presence of the 'funky drummer' TONY ALLEN, who founded the real 'Afro Beat' in the 70s.

In the 70s and 80s he was the drummer in FELA's band, and in the today's tune his play fits perfect to the melancholic sounds of this French genius I introduce you today. I combined the session version from 2006 with the studio version from 2004 into a 'collage of sounds' I would call it.

A sweet hello from the again warmer getting Australia!

Today I present you one of the first ever released femal rap tunes. Luckily I found this fantastic one when I browsed the www about the history of rap.

As far as I know this 12", which is produced by the legerdary JOE GIBBS, yet is not released digitally, and will perhaps never be.

Of course it's a Jamaican version of SUGARHILL GANG'S 'Rappers Delight'. I combined the vocal and the instrumental verson to a typical conservative 'chronovisor mix'.

Hi out there!

After a longer absence I present you today a Hip-Hop song from 2003 which reached top rankings almost everywhere in the world. It's very nice produced but unfortunately no 12" version ever was released.

I simply combined the vocal version and the instrumental version, and the result was a proper long version edit made of the tradion way of 'chronovisor mixes'.

Von der Oeffentlichkeit fast voellig unbemerkt starb vor einigen Wochen der deutsche Komponist zeitgenoessischer klassischer Musik WILHELM DIETER SIEBERT im 80. Lebensjahr.

Zu seinen Werken gehoerten Opern, Musicals, Ballette, Kammermusiken, Lieder, Orchesterstuecke und experimentelle Musiktheaterstuecke. Die 1979 an der Deutschen Oper Berlin uraufgefuehrte Oper 'Untergang der Titanic', blieb dort für sieben Jahre auf dem Spielplan.

Er ist auch der Schoepfer der Erkennungsmelodie der im deutschsprachigen Fernsehen aeusserst erfolgreichen Kultursendung '100 Meisterwerke aus den grossen Museen der Welt' (spaeter erweitert auf '1000 Meisterwerke'), welche zwischen 1981 und 1994 ausgestrahlt wurde.

Leider wurde meines Wissens nach kein Tontraeger mit dieser Aufnahme jemals veroeffentlicht. Um diese grossartige Komposition dennoch nicht vollends in Vergessenheit geraten zu lassen habe ich mich in den Weiten des www umgesehen, wo ich dann auch fuendig geworden bin. Nach einer kleinen klangtechnischen Restauration freue ich mich euch nun dieses wertvolle akustische Kleinod praesentieren zu duerfen.

Ehe dieser Monat zu Ende geht, dachte ich mir, machst du noch was. Und das Ergebnis ist das Folgende:

Geht es euch auch so, dass man sich ueber ein Musikstueck jahrelang geaergert hat, weil's einfach nicht gut genug produziert worden ist vor der Veroeffentlichung? Aber weil's halt dann doch nicht sooo wichtig ist, vergisst man's wieder, bis es immer wieder mal hochkommt, und es vielleicht irgendwann doch einmal verbessern sollte? - Tja, jetzt ist es eben soweit.

Und weil's davon keine ordentliche Radioversion gibt, hab' ich's eben kurz und knackig gehalten. Jaaa, so gafaellt's mir wieder, dat Dingens! Und hoffentlich auch euch!

Es ist kaum zu glauben, dass dieser hier vorgestellte Song in seinem Genre Kultstatus erwerben wuerde, und doch ist es so gekommen. Dabei darf man nicht vergessen, dass diese Innovation wieder einmal von Deutschland aus um die ganze Welt ging. Diese Formation war musikalisch gesehen typisch fuer die 90er Jahre. Die einpraegsame Stimme von Linda Rocco, die uebrigens eine der wirklichen Stimmen von MILLI VANILLI war, tat ihr Uebriges um diesen 'trance track' zu etwas ganz Besonderem zu machen. Ich habe nur die Vocalversion und die Instrumentalversion fein miteinander verwoben. Das war's auch schon. ENJOY! Floyd Anderson.

Hallo alle miteinander!

Es gibt so gewisse Lieder, die beschaeftigen mich immer wieder mal, aber dann lass' ich sie wieder um sie spaeter erneut hervorzukramen und daran herumzubasteln.

Um ein solches Lied geht es heute hier.

Dieses Lied ist wohl nur den wahren Fans dieser sehr erfolgreichen Band bekannt. Urspruenglich nur auf einer sehr limitierten CD zu finden, die von einer deutschen Autofirma beauftragt und beim Kauf eines ihrer Neuwagen mitgegeben wurde, veroeffentlichte die Band dieses Lied neu abgemischt zwei Jahre spaeter unter einem anderem Namen auf deren bislang letzten regulaerem Album.

Fuer mich bot aber die originale Version mehr Moeglichkeiten, und so ist dieser neue 'chronovisor mix' collageartig nach und nach entstanden.

Ich jedenfalls wuensche euch beim akustischen Genuss dieses sehr 'ambientlastigen' Mixes viel Freude.

These days I spotted a peace of music in the www I was looking for ages. And I must say, that without other people's fantastic work bringing up these little gems in a perfect quality, my results wouldn't be as good as they are. So, thank you everyone who makes these things possible! ;-)

Now, the today's track is one of the classical pop songs of the 80s, made from a very successful Australian band and hey, I live in Australia, so... ;-)

Hello music.blog.lovers!

About 175 weeks ago I started with this mix series not knowing, if I ever would continue, and I almost didn't.

But recently I literally fell with my listening-ears on the Canadian based disc jockey and music producer JOEL THOMAS ZIMMERMAN, who started releasing progressive house music and trance tracks and also remixes in 2005.

His very DJ-friendly productions helped me a lots mixing myself a tribute CD to honour this guy, who really is 'the killer of the dancefloors of the world' to me these days.

A tracklist of this CD is tagged into the file and very easy to spot.

I obviously can't get to old for this type of dance music, which I am very glad for.

Lots of things happened since then, I moved a continent, I got married, and some smaller things happened as well.

Hallo am letzten Tag 2010!

Schon wieder geht ein Jahr viel zu schnell zu Ende.
Aber nicht nur das, eine volle Dekade bringen wir heute hinter uns!
Ereignisreich war's nicht nur fuer mich, sondern wohl fuer die meisten von euch.

Ich hoffe, dass ihr, so wie ich, erwartungsvoll in die Zukunft blicken koennt.
Denn ich bin mir sicher, dass die Jahre 2011 - 2020 noch viel spannender werden, als die Jahre 2001 - 2010 je gewesen sind.

Musikalisch verabschiede ich diese Dekade mit einem genialen Remix gefertigt von einem 'Grashuepfer' aus Polen. Wer mehr darueber wissen will, der informiere sich hier.

Hallo music.blog.lovers!

Heute praesentiere ich euch ein Studioprojekt aus Pforzheim. In der Tat, so etwas hat es gegeben, und es war recht erfolgreich in Deutschland Mitte der 80er Jahre mit dem Nachspielen von Filmmusik.

Die wohl erfolgreichste Single aus meiner Sicht ist dem Film 'Anschlag bei Nacht' von John Carpenter aus dem Jahr 1976 entnommen. Acht Jahre spaeter also wurde mit Hilfe eines '80er-Jahre-electro-sounds' diese Nummer ein achtbarer Hit.

Mit persoenlich war diese Version der Maxi-Single immer zu kurz, daher habe ich sie verlaengert, so, wie es sich von Anfang an gehoert haette.
