Summer Fun Nights!

Wed June 6 – 6:30-8pm

Water play night at COM on the main lawn. Come in your swim suit, bring a towel. We have rented an inflatable double slip-n-slide and a water slide. Let’s have some fun!

Wed July 11 6-8:30pm

Movie night! We will be watching Up (think VBS Sky theme!) and enjoying some popcorn. Bring a pillow and a friend. Preschoolers and kids will be meeting together in the COM preschool building room 5.

Sun July 29 4-6pm

Family Fun Night – An evening at the pool. We will meet at the West Chandler Aquatic Center on Kyrene between Chandler Blvd and the 202. Sundays from 4-6 is free familyswim at this pool.

Wed Aug 1 6-8:30pm

Life on Missions Together – We will be spending the evening with the Kenney family and sharing about our life on mission together! Plus we will have some games and fun snacks.

Vacation Bible School

At Vacation Bible School, June 24-28, we will explore how everything is possible with God – Mark 10:27 at SKY VBS. VBS will be at Church on Mill from 6:15-8:30pm. VBS is for children who have completed K-6 grade. Registration is online at www.churchonmill.com/vbs. You may use that sight to volunteer to help too. We need many Crew Leaders to help guide a small group of preschoolers or children through the VBS stations. T Shirts will be available for purchase for $5 child sizes and $8.50 adult sizes.

Kids Camp Registration

Kids Camp Registration

It is time to register for Kids Camp. If your child is currently in 3-6 grade consider sending your child to camp. We will be going to Prescott Pines Camp June 11-15. We go as guests of North Phoenix Baptist Church. The theme this year is Promise Kept – we will be studying the life of Jesus. Camp costs $250. A $75 deposit is due by April 17. All checks made to North Phoenix Baptist Church. Registration forms have been mailed out, if you need a copy contact Christine in the church office. If you have any questions see Andrea Heaton.

Team Kid Verses and Dig Sheet

At Team Kid on Wednesday nights we spend time having fun and exploring scripture. We work each week on memorizing verses – not just for the moment but to hide in our heart so that when temptation comes our heads can be renewed and follow Jesus. Please help your kids soak up scripture. The verses for the rest of the semester are listed below. Please note that we will not meet during Spring Break. No choir either.

Also, each week we are filling out a Dig Sheet. This are tic tac toe boards where we think through what we know and have learned about a passage of scripture. We are helping the kids think through scripture not just taking it at face value. Here’s what a Dig Sheet includes: Past, present, and future events; author and audience; text reference, memory verse reference and other support scripture; what do we learn about God/Jesus/Holy Spirit; what do we learn about ourselves and how we need to grow/change.

Good Friday Drama Presentation

The 1-4 graders from Praise Kid Children’s Church are working on a dramatic interpretation of the song, The Champion. Tina Schuler is working with the kids for the next 7 weeks on this drama. The kids will share their presentation on Fri., April 6 during the Good Friday Service. Tina has asked a few of the older children and some adults to help too. Please plan on being a part of this special service.

Team Kid Serve Tempe High

Team Kid Field Trip

Wednesday night during Team KID the kids and leaders will be going to serve Tempe High School. The kids will help with different tasks in classrooms. We helped in November and are continuing our relationship of caring and sharing God’s love with our neighbor, Tempe High School.

Drivers include: Andrea, Jennifer, Sam, John, Laura.

We will leave at 6:35 – if you miss us please call Andrea for directions to our location at Tempe High.

Please sign the permission sheet when you drop off on Wednesday. It will be on the patio of the children’s building.

Children’s Choir Music Sharing

Children’s choir will have a music sharing day on Wednesday, February first, 6pm! We will bring in instruments we’re learning to play and songs we like singing and share that music with each other. This will be a great way for us to learn about each other and to appreciate each one’s talent as we make music together for God! Hope to see you there!

Choir and Team Kid begin

Children’s Choir and Team KID begin on Wed., Jan. 11. Both meet in the children’s building. Choir is from 6-6:30 and Team KID is from 6:30-8:00pm. Chantel Lawrence will be leading the choir this semester. She is introducing the kids to praise with instruments as well as singing. The kids will share music in worship a few times this semester.

Team KID (Kids In Discipleship) will be having Bible lessons/verses focused on building character as followers of Jesus using. Topics include: Dare to Do the Difficult, Other People’s Shoes, Watch Your Mouth, Tame Your Temper, Jesus Offers Forgiveness. A list of memory verses for the semester will be posted soon. Please help your kids talk about and apply these verses in daily life. Also, encourage your kids to bring their Bible to Team KID. We practice finding verses and look up passages for the Bible discussion. Each week will also have a missions lesson and rec time. Jennifer Wood, John Hernandez, Sam Goff, and Andrea Heaton are the teaching team.
