Part of it due to my impatience, my inability to formulate long and interesting thoughts, and in general my relatively short span when it comes to concentrating into one single posting effort for a long period of time. Lately, I have become a fan, or to be frank, an addict to micro blogging as a social networking medium, in particular Rejaw is the one that has taken a lot of my time. It goes without saying that my blogging effort is in even deeper trouble right now. The irony in all of this, is that now that I have acquired a minimum of extra visibility, thanks to several contacts generated through my micro blogging effort, I feel I am in the process of disappointing people that might enthusiastically flock to my blog, expecting a content-filled, state-of the art web site. Oh well, at least one thing you will find here my friend is honesty, minimalism and simplicity. Better than nothing I guess...

Mostly MicroBlogging...

I have always been and still am kind of a lazy writer, and minimalistic writing seems to appeal to me. Most of them start out in beta and thus only allow users to join if they are invited by other pre-existing users. One interesting service I found that allows for "invite harvesting" is Invite Share. The formula is simple, after a registration, you can request invites for certain website of interest and other users will see your request and "offer" out free invites. Check it out if you are interested exploring new websites in beta.

Presentation vs. Content

One of the problem with my Blog, is that so far it is more presentation than content. After an hiatus of several months, this post is to indicate my intention to do so. One of my renewed fascination is with web and media trends, and as such I am probably going to orient my posting toward discussions and observations regarding this general theme. I will however still post about other items of interest as they surface. In order to write about something...anything, I have decided to delve a bit about this year's hurricane season in Florida. Luckily this year has, again and against all expert's predictions, been a pretty calm year for the state of Florida. Last year was the same story; the experts predicted "doom and gloom" and an above average season, it turned out pretty calm. This year the same happened. What is going on here? As I am not an expert on weather or meteorological science I have obviously started scouring the web for answers. This is a recent article on USA today about the subject...It does not explain much...it just discusses what has happened...here is the article. In my humble opinion, there are several factors in play...First, the last two years demonstrate how weather science, despite all the progress in technology and predictions, is still a very uncertain science, especially when even the renowned "experts" grossly fail with their predictions. Second, I dare saying that the modern media outlet, need to feed on the public fear of catastrophic events, hurricanes being one of them, and tend to err on the side of negativism , thus emphasizing the pessimistic predictions. That's it...I am tired of typing now...

A Blog Entry for the Heck

Here we go again...Don't have anything to write about...so I am writing these few lines just to fill some space...I just don't want this blog to die like my other web adventures, but it is going to be hard to keep it alive if I don't get any good ideas. I just want to make my best effort to spare this very blog site the same fate and namely demise that most if not all my other sites have experienced. Going back probably more than ten years, my adventures with personal web sites began with geocities, which I believe is still in service and existence as part of the yahoo network. I was intrigued and fascinated at the time with the idea of a virtual community with virtual "cities" based on interest and affinities and virtual streets and addresses. At that time there was no such a thing as community portals in the likes of myspace or youtube...Web pages hosted on geocities, were mere conglomerates of ideas, links and images all mingled together. A far cry from today's "organized" or "prepackaged" formats, such as "blogs", "photo sharing", "video sharing", "community portal pages"...In all truth, geocities was a pioneer in that it was giving average Joe the chance to own "a piece of the World Wide Web"...and I think it is this idea of wanting to be a "part" of the information super-highway that drives peoples, techies and semi-techies, to join community portals or blogs such as this very one. Wanting "to belong" has been a part of human nature since the beginning of times, and in this information age, this idea of belonging is perpetuated with joining of the web own virtual worlds...

The Nature of Time

Time is the elapsing of arbitrary discrete representations of continuous instantaneous physical events.

Another attempt at Blogging...

This is my second experiment at Blogging...let's see how long this one lasts... Like a lot of the things I do on the Internet this is another experiment, my first attempt at blogging happened about 1 to 1 1/2 years ago. My arid null blog now resides empty and untouched in the meanders of yahoo...One problem I have with the Internet (Yes...I am a computer addict) is information overflow...and my relatively short attention span really gets in the way...I have now countless numbers of unused registrations all over cyberspace...many are forgotten...others were for now extinct web sites. The majority were experiments, (like just about everything I do on the web these days...). Is the Internet a playground? In many ways it is. And for those of us that thrive in technology, electronic formats and colors and the idea of virtual worlds, it is definitely a never ending laboratory of experimentation. But I digress...this is only my first post and if I place all of my ideas here, this might turn out yet again my one and only post...'Till my next post...maybe...
