This was the microphone that brought my voice to the few who listened to the Wandercast. While I had wanted to reconstitute the podcast, it seems unlikely I will start recording anytime soon. In the interim, it only took up space, collected dust, and got in the way. Now it sits, detached, disconnected, silenced, the stand folded. Will it get re-attached? Maybe.
In the photo are the red puma cap, the USB cord for the mic, the encase holding my MacBook. a bag of things I bought at Goivanni's Room I have yet to consider now I have them home, my gym sack, and a basket of clean laundry that has no home right now.

From 2005 October 1, as I was posting podcasts more regularly, I gave this podcast the name, 'the wandercast', more or less as a tribute to the fact that my mind tends to wander while thinking. At the time, I did not think about acquiring a domain name or gMail account for it. Today I googled 'wandercast' and found among my entries two things that gave me pause. The minor one is the Yondercast, in which Shane entitles one of his recent episodes 'wandercast'. The major one is this, a travel podcast website created the beginning of this year. Am I unhappy about this? A little. Will I sic the lawyers on this. Most likely, not. Will I tolerate the travel site sending a take-down notice for my podcasts, despite using that name for 15 months prior? No. Of course, they may have sent to me an e-letter, which I construed as spam and 'filed'. Then again, maybe this is the time to rework my own podcast.

not customer first

I was successful in getting GarageBand to play nice with Ãïbercaster. I was not successful in getting my brain to work with the two. Therefore, I aborted yesterday's attempt after 16 minutes. Today, I elected not to edit out the pregnant pauses. It can be no worse than yesterday's. In today's wandercast ::

podcasts unhealthy

Are podcasts the modern-day edition of the unhealthy relationship, much as the television was, and still is? Do they make a poor substitute for personal relationships, much like the social network sites? Are they worse than blogs since you can hear, even see, the personal interactions? Am I using these as a substitute for live social interaction too much? Are podcasts unhealthy relationships to me? I asked myself that in Dallas, when I thought my 'escape' was a loss. I hash that out from my own perspective. I use no scientific or psychiatric knowledge. I use only my personal experience. I mean nothing negative to podcasting, nor the podcasts I mention. I understand it is more about how I use podcasts that it is the content itself. I may not be clear about that. Listen to this wandercast and find out.
