Through Compassion International, we sponsor a few children. One of them is Francklice who lives [...]]]> Today is the Feast Day of St. Jerome – patron saint of orphans and abandoned children. For those of you who know us, this is something that sits close (if not on top of) our hearts.

Through Compassion International, we sponsor a few children. One of them is Francklice who lives in the Dominican Republic, but is of Haitian descent. He actually lives with his grandmother, since his mother is still in Haiti and his father is…who knows (frustrated sigh…). I was blessed to be able to visit Francklice two years ago when he was 11. However, in a few days, he will officially be a teenager…the big 1-3!

To celebrate St. Jerome’s Feast Day, I thought I’d pair up a verse with a photo of myself with Francklice.
