Qualifications:<br />

Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in the areas of electrical engineering, photovoltaics,  power plant design and/or power plant performance<br />

BS degree, electrical engineering preferred<br />

Strong knowledge of electrical component theory and practice in the solar industry, or a related industry such as UPS, DC/AC power systems, or motor drives<br />
<br />
Experience with technical training<br />
<br />
Articulate communication skills; he/she will be required to write customer visit reports, technical notes and be able to communicate with all levels of customers on business and technical subjects<br />

Excellent customer liaison skills and a strong customer service ethic<br />

Practical understanding and application of mechanical and metallurgical properties of metals.<br />

Ability to write and understand process and quality documentation<br />

Additionally this individual should have:<br />

In this role, you will be working directly with customers and potentially managing a small team of integration engineers to integrate SSN applications with new and existing applications within the utilityâs back office. Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) technologies will be leveraged to build the integration points. Together, these integrated applications will be responsible for provisioning millions of network devices annually per utility, and processing tens of millions of daily transactions. You will have significant hands-on responsibility and flexibility to drive multiple simultaneous integration projects to successful conclusion.<br />
Responsibilities<br />
<br />
    * Engage with customers to scope, design, document, implement and deliver integration scenarios between our back-office applications and those already deployed (or to be deployed) by the utility. You will collaborate and coordinate closely with Sales, Operations, Product Management and Engineering to ensure these engagements are successfully initiated and completed. Predictably deliver high-quality, high-performance, scalable integrations.<br />
    * Architect solutions which meet the needs of the customer and are beneficial to Silver Spring Networks.<br />
    * Provide guidance to customers on hardware specifications to meet performance and scalability requirements<br />
    * Assist a small team of California-based integration engineers to design and build SOA- and ESB-based mappings. This team will also be responsible for working with Engineering to extend interfaces to meet the evolving needs of our customers while at the same time guaranteeing that all customers deploy non-customized SSN products. Engagements will often require that sample code is provided to customers or integration partners, rather that implementing the integration scenarios directly.<br />
    * Work directly with customers to create data mappings and resolve other related semantic issues involved in the building of the integration scenarios.<br />
    * Plan and execute validation efforts for all delivered integration scenarios.<br />
    * Working with Product Management and Engineering, manage resolution of product issues identified by customers or operations staff.<br />
    * Contribute to the Operations culture by actively participating in the evolution of best practices, tools and processes<br />
    * Ability to travel frequently for projects within the region; some travel in the Pacific Rim and the US may also be required. Must possess a valid passport. ed <br />

Qualifications<br />

    * 10+ years of software development experience, at least 5 of which was spent doing hands-on software development, and another 5 years spent managing teams to deliver enterprise software products or integration-related deliverables.<br />
    * Proven ability to manage customer relationships and accounts; experience dealing with large companies which requires interacting with and managing requirements from multiple departments<br />
    * Hands-on experience with enterprise middleware and volume transaction processing; experience within the utility industry is strongly preferred<br />
    * Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas and designs to both technical and non-technical staff<br />
    * Proven ability to multi-task and participate in a hands-on manner while at the same time being able to effectively lead and motivate a team of direct-reports.<br />
    * Proven ability to work in a collaborative manner with an extended team of peers to ensure customer requirements are fully satisfied<br />
    * Strong understanding of multi-threaded architectures, distributed systems, and scalable messaging<br />
    * Proven ability to track and manage complex projects which involve internal and external resources which are not<br />
    * Knowledgeable of Java/J2EE, SOAP, XML and JMS<br />
    * Understanding of enterprise-class security solutions, including LDAP and public key cryptography<br />
