The annual alumni game is set for the weekend of September 13th & 14th and the letter/registration form is available to download.

Registration

A donation of $ 50. 00 gets you a hat, shirt, food and drink, Friday night and Saturday’s dinner, and membership in the Clearfield Baseball Association. If unable to attend, a donation of $25. 00 will gain you membership in the Bison Baseball Alumni Association

We need registration by Monday, September 2nd so hats and shirts can be ordered. Please download the registration form to print out and mail back.

Bisons Great Comeback Downs Chucks In Season Finale

Down 2-0 and locked in a tight pitcher’s duel, the Bisons exploded for 9 runs in the bottom of the sixth to stun the Punxsutawney Chucks this afternoon at the Bison Sports Complex. Jon Janocko started off the inning with a double down the left field line. Cole Kephart immediately followed with a bomb over the right-center field fence to tie the score. From there the onslaught continued with 3 walks and key hits by Wyatt Westen and Thomas Summers. Consecutive dingers by Janocko and Kephart, his second one of the inning, set the score at 9-2. Starter Devin Jones went Six strong innings, and Janocko finished it with a scoreless seventh. It was Clearfield’s first win over the Chucks since 2010 and a great way to finish the 2013 season.

Nine Run Inning Propels Bisons to Win Over Mounties

Trailing 6-2 going into the fourth inning, the Bisons were able to come up with 9 runs in their half of the fifth to build a commanding lead over the P-O Mountaineers. The Mounties didn’t quit, however, scoring 3 runs in the sixth. With the score at 12-10, the Bisons came up with two big defensive plays to save the win. A pick-off by reliever Thomas Summers and the resulting rundown by Jon Janocko created a key out, and then two strong throws, Curtis Collins to Erik Sellers to Jonas Kochan nailed a runner at the plate. Collins and Sellers also had good days with the bat, each collecting two hits.

The Bisons finish their season with a home contest against the Punxsutawney Chucks tomorrow at 4:30 PM.

Bisons Drop 8-4 Decision to Penns Valley

The Bisons fell victim to a late inning Rams rally as they lost 8-4 at the Bison Sports Complex this afternoon. Righty Wyatt Westen took the loss in relief of starter Devin Jones. Thomas Summers and Josh Sorbera led the offense with two hits each. The Bisons loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the 7th, but could only muster one run.

They next travel back to P-O on Thursday for the completion of a game that was suspended in the 4th inning last Friday.

Another Close One: Bisons Drop 4-3 Decision to Central

For the third night in a row the Bisons were involved in a tight ballgame, falling 4-3 to the visiting Scarlet Dragons of Central-Martinsburg. Bison starter Devin Jones pitched a solid game, going 7 innings and surrendering only 2 earned runs. The Bison offense was led by Spencer Herrington who singled and tripled. Cole Kephart doubled and Jon Janocko added an RBI single.

Clearfield travels to Philipsburg-Osceola on Friday for it’s fourth game of the week.

Bisons Win Another Late Inning Nail Biter

For the second night in a row, the Bisons built an early lead only to see it slip away in the later innings. Trailing 4-1 into the bottom of the seventh, the Penns Valley Rams fought back to tie the score. A two out single by Rams DH Kevin Butts appeared to win the game, but losing losing pitcher Cody Luse was cut down at the plate by a perfect Collins to Sellers to Sorbera relay. Neither team scored in the eighth inning, but the Bisons came up with two runs in the top of the ninth. Base hits by Jon Janocko and Josh Sorbera, along with walks to Cole Kephart, Erik Sellers, and Wyatt Westen did the damage. Winning pitcher Westen relieved starter Thomas Summers in the top of the 8th.

A home match up with league-leading Central is scheduled for tomorrow at the Bison Sports Complex.

Summers Walk Off Single Completes Bisons Late Comeback

The Bisons build an early 6-0 lead over the visiting Brookville Raiders only to see it slip away in the later innings. Trailing 8-6 going into the bottom of the seventh, the home team launched a furious one out rally, culminating in Thomas Summers singling home Spencer Herrington with the winning run. The comeback started with Wyatt Westen’s base hit. He later scored on a sacrifice fly by winning pitcher Devin Jones. On a 1-2 pitch with 2 outs, Herrington singled through the hole at short to score Josh Kennedy with the tying run. A walk to Curtis Collins and a wild pitch set up the scenario for Summers’ heroics. Herrington was the only Bison with 2 hits, while Cole Kephart had a key 2 run double.

The Bisons visit Penns Valley tomorrow in the second of a four game week.

Shoddy Defense Costs Bisons In Loss

The Tyrone Golden Eagles invaded the Bison Sports Complex on Friday and handled the Bisons, 10-2. Devin Jones pitched well in his first varsity start but was the victim of 6 Bison errors. Curtis Collins and Thomas Summers led the Bison offense with two hits each.

Clearfield has a big week coming up with 4 games, beginning with a home contest with D9 rival Brookville on Monday.

Bisons Use Solid Defense In Win Over Bellefonte

Playing their best baseball of the season, the homestanding Bisons defeated the Red Raiders at Bellefonte in a 2-1 pitcher’s duel. Jon Janocko hurled a 3 hit gem to earn his first varsity win. Bellefonte ace Taylor Smith pitched well in the loss. Spencer Herrington led the Bison offense with 3 hits, scoring both runs. Curtis Collins and Thomas Summers contributed two hits each.

The Bisons welcome Tyrone on Friday in a 4:30 PM Mountain League game.

Bisons Fall to Strong Central MT Team

The Central Mountain Wildcats jumped on the visiting Clearfield Bisons for 4 runs in the first inning and never looked back. Played under overcast and threatening skies, the contest ended in 5 innings with a 10-0 route. Wildcat ace Caleb Stover stymied the Bisons on 3 hits (two by Erik Sellers and one by Curtis Collins). Starting pitcher Wyatt Westen suffered the loss.

The Bisons host Bellefonte tomorrow at 4:30pm.
