dConstruct 2012

Thank you to everyone who came along to UX London last week. We had a splendid time and we hope you did too.

With barely a pause for breath, we’re already preparing for our other upcoming events. There are still some tickets available for Ampersand in June and we’ve just announced the line-up for this year’s dConstruct in September. Just look at that stellar constellation of names, including the one and only James Burke!

Tickets will be £130 plus VAT and they go on sale on May 29th. And don’t forget: we’ll also be hosting four superb workshops in the run-up to the conference.

dConstruct archive now available

We’re very happy to announce that the entire dConstruct archive is now available online. And what an incredible collection it is! In the last 7 years, dConstruct has presented 2175 minutes of insightful thinking from the brightest minds in the digital industry… inspirational talks which you can now delve into any time. Also, our very own Jeremy Keith wrote this blog post about creating the archive site.

And there’s more dConstruct news. This year’s holding page is now live - and rather lovely it is too (design courtesy of our super intern, Alex Jones). The 2012 event will take place on Friday, September 7th, at Brighton Dome - be sure to mark the date in your diary. With last year’s tickets selling out in a gobsmacking 6 hours, you’ll want to make a note of when tickets go on sale, too… follow @dConstruct on Twitter, so you don’t miss any announcements!

On the subject of fast-selling tickets, have you snagged your place at UX London? There are less than 40 discounted Standard rate tickets left, so be sure to get yours while you can!

We’re thrilled to have some fantastic sponsors on board for next year’s UX London: Executive sponsors Balsamiq, and Associate sponsors Axure and Optimal Workshop. The folk at Balsamiq are the creators of Mockups and myBalsamiq, the brilliant, rapid wireframing tools that reproduce the experience of sketching. Ampersand 2012

We’re very excited to announce that Ampersand, our web typography conference, will return next year - back by public demand! We had a splendid time at this year’s inaugural event, which featured some fantastic speakers and a great crowd of font fans. We’ll be making further announcements, including details of our speakers, soon, but in the meantime mark Friday, June 15th in your diary!

Bill Buxton to speak at UX London 2012!

We couldn’t be more thrilled to announce our final UX London speaker: Bill Buxton. A true pioneer, Bill is Principal Scientist at Microsoft Research and author of Sketching User Experiences. Not only is Bill a trailblazing UX authority, he’s also one of the best speakers we’ve ever seen, which makes us even more excited that he’ll be joining our stellar line up.

After another fantastic and inspiring dConstruct, we’re now looking forward to our next event, UX London. This year’s site is up, and rather lovely it is too. Be sure to take a look, and have a gander at our page of spectacular speakers - we’re thrilled to have another stellar line-up of world-renowned UX folk joining us to share their wisdom. Tickets will go on sale on Monday, October 17th, and we’ll have a very limited number of Super Early Bird tickets at a specially reduced rate, so be sure to nab yours as swiftly as you can!

It’s now a little over two weeks ‘til dConstruct, and it’s a hive of activity here at Clearleft HQ. We’re very much looking forward to welcoming everyone to Brighton for another fantastic and inspiring day. For those of you who are heading to the conference, if you’re planning on staying in Brighton but haven’t already booked your accommodation, keep an eye on your inbox, as we’ve just sent out a list of local hotels that have availability. dConstruct - sold out!

We were thrilled, and pretty gobsmacked, after dConstruct tickets went on sale yesterday morning and sold out in a very speedy seven hours! Obviously everyone else is as excited as we are about this year’s event. It’s still possible to snag a ticket - by attending one of our rather super workshops you also get a pass for the conference, so be sure to check out the details for those. And for those of you who’ve already bagged your ticket, we’ll see you in September!

Like us, the Hoefler & Frere-Jones folks are nuts about typography, and in fact also just sponsored our first ever Ampersand conference, which took place here in Brighton last Friday and was mighty splendid (if we do say so ourselves).
