So, I know I've not be writing for ages. So sorry dear readers.

For the past two months I've been working as a part timer in a Pastry Kitchen which specialized in cakes.

Almost everyday I will get fcuked, either too slow or sent home for talking.

Official working hours is 7am till 4pm, an hour lunch but we only take about 20 mins and quickly continue working. Usually I will finish around 5 plus. Latest was 7pm.

Chef comes at 6am and has never taken off since March last year!

I feel I'm really a nobody there as my Pastry skills really sucks; really really.

Had brunch at IKEA. Earlier in the day, made breakfast for matey.

I did some reading and knocked off. Was trying to let my soul catch up with my body.

IKEA was packed during lunch, long queue and no place to sit and yet ppl like me still goes there. Wtf rite?

So today's exercise regime is still walking. So I walked from IKEA along Alexandra road to Berlayer Creek (about 25 mins).

From Labrador mrt, the trail begins and it takes about a good 20-25 mins to reach the coast.

The weather is so so hot!

The short walk along the coast is very pleasant. Passed Reflections and Caribbean condo. It is not possible to continue to Habourfront even though there are tracks available.

I could see the cruise ship, Superstar something but a gate was separating between my goal (nice cold water at Habourfront) and me.

Did I mention how hot and surprising hazy too.

Searched for some rooms in Holland. Here and there.

OK.

Matey went to mamak with friends for dinner and came back later to clean the house again till 1am cause matey parents is coming to our house tomorrow.

Made a simple breakfast for matey. That also matey couldn't finish it and I packed it for lunch. (The next thing I heard, it was still in the chiller at Matey's office, as forgotten all about it).

Needed to exercise, so walked to the Cbd, under the extremely hot sun. Had my sun glasses and cap to help me. The next thing I knew, plans changed when I arrived at the old Railway Station. Damn, really miss this place as lot! Really nostalgic about it.

Lunch time and hungry, so headed to Parsley and Thyme along Kampung Bahru, just opposite the General Hospital.

No one here. An old man, whom I assumed was the proprietor. He's friendly but talk about bit too much if ppl start a conversation.

I opted for the set pasta lunch +-$17 including tax and service.

If you add $5, you can upgrade your soup to French Onion or Lobster Bisque.
Pumpkin soup was not bad at all. But plate way too huge. Portion could be more but that's how it goes with set lunches right? No garnish, except the last min black pepper.

Penne Bologna was next. Portion was OK but again no garnish! Wtf? Some parsley would really brighten the entire dish.

Then came the dessert which he failed to mention was Peppermint with Chocolate Chip, which I absolutely hate!

But no choice, for beggars cannot be choosers.

Opt for coffee which is good. Overall, service was fast, perhaps because no customers? I would like to come back again but felt there is no privacy.

Sun was too hot so took bus to Giant at Vivo to do a bit of marketing.

Came back with 2 packets of yellow onions which I made French Onion Soup, took a long while to get it caramelized.

Add water and seasoning and that was it. Delicious!

Used auto slice of bread with some broken cheese and blow torch to gratinate.

When matey tried it, matey mentioned the Bread was soggy. I'm sorry Your Majesty but I don't have a loaf of baguette.

Cake Spade and Jogging.

Had breakfast at Hans at Habourfront at the very last minute.

Did some checking online before matey called me over for lunch.

Japanese ramen (upgraded to large serving) and a small bowl of rice costs $18.80. The ramen headed by some Japanese Chef but tasted just so so only. Even the tomago wasn't over the world.

Headed to Cake Spade for dessert and I had the Chocolate Banana Cake which was really really good!
Matey's Red Velvet wasn't too sour, in fact not sour at all?
Total was $12.10.

OK.

So how?

Bought some goods for home use.

Did more research at home.

Matey forced me to go jogging near Matey's friends place, so there I was at the Alexandra Canal.

Nice spot really.

Cooked Assam Sotong for my dinner. It would be better if changed to prawns.

Started to target my train dates already.

Initially wanted to head to Mustafa but ended up Tanglin Mall for breakfast.

The polenta with sausage $11.9 wasn't satisfying enough, so got Eggs Benedict $12.9 which was perfect, but the Hollandaise sauce could be more "sour". No drinks as couldn't afford hahaha, wanted to try their Cannoli but it's $6 for like 6 inches.

OK.

Wanted to find SuperNature nearby Camden but noticed the Park House Condo is gone! And a new condo is being built on top of it now.

So headed to Paragon and M Gallery and couldn't find what I was looking for.

At night Matey to have dinner with me at Funan and I had Mee Rebus which wasn't too bad at all.

Then, I took bus to Marina Square from Raffles Hotel.

Found my 300g honeycomb from Australia for $34 from John Little.

Expensive, yes Sireee!

Walked around Chinatown after that and headed home.

Matey came back shortly after class.

Slept at 2am (on 11th morning) because was into the new Google Maps & Earth Course. It's still at beta stage and I've enrolled for the online course and week ago. I must say, I'm pretty impressed with the new Directions tool which allows you to change the route and set the time of arrival. You can also create new maps for sharing, this is a great feature because showing maps is better than explaining it. I'm still halfway thru the course and cannot wait till it's released to the Gen Pop.

So, let's see what happened. Had breakfast with matey. One roti prata is not enough but it will do for now.

Went to Habourfront to try changing my bank pass book but it wasn't necessary.

Then it was to the Post Office to follow up on some admin issues with the Registered Article I posted in end of April.

Went back home and read one weeks worth of newspapers.

A light siesta followed :)

Dinner was last minute change of venue to Thai Steamboat near Clarke Quay and dessert at Tcc further down the road.

Talked about babies topic.

OK.

Reached home around midnight.

Bad Service at D&D and Money Belt.

It was my suggestion to bring matey for breakfast at Dean & Deluca. Reach fourth floor of Orchard Central around 11am and there were many empty tables. Only towards lunch, business started to pick up.

I ordered the American Breakfast $24? And Flap Jack's for matey $22?

My eggs breakfast which wasn't the best (could have provided with more bread and eggs was too scrambled?) was devoured by both of us.

I noticed something was amissed when ppl after us had their food served already.

So when I asked the waitress she said will check and she came back by asking us for our receipt!

Wtf?

Why you no trust your paying customer? You think I want to cheat you ar Mr. Dean and Deluca? Why you no check at your POS? Why you make hungry ppl more angry?!!!!!

After 20 mins, came the stacked pancakes. With complimentary ONE cup of coffee with milk (no I not angry anymore.

How now?

Damage was about $48.

Walked to Plaza Sing, and spent sometime in spotlight to look at needles, different types of zips and threads to make a money belt.

Ended up the thread and zip is from Daiso.

Matey spent the evening clearing up the stuffs in the hall while I on the other hand took a nap.

OK.

Had the packed Bento yakitori for dinner.

Yes, I did.

OK.

Matey's actually then sew the money belt for me.

It was all done by hand and the stitches were all hidden, hence you could not see it in front at all.

Slept around 1am after massaging Matey to sleep first.

It's now 10pm and on the way back from Marina Square after paying $90 for a second hand tripod from a guy. The heavy tripod from Italy is for my Bro in-law.

Earlier Matey and I attended the Samsung Training Class for S4. The two hour session talked about new features of the Phone which is of no use to me because I use S3.

Was hungry after the session and headed to Lerk Thai. Should have seen the tell tale signs where most of the tables were empty. The Kitchen was very slow and service was all over the place doing everything but serving.

I said no spicy Papaya salad but came otherwise. Same goes with the hair in my soup (but I just continued drinking it cause the hair wasn't curly, hahaha I know it's not funny) and the served the dessert when we're at the counter paying! (after 25 mins wait).

In the morning, had breakfast of mee rebus where this Pakcik will only open his stall like twice a month, so when he's open I will surely order from him.

Bought Yong Tau Foo for lunch, so at 2pm, I cooked it with mung bean noodles.

The entire day was spent cleaning, sorting out our stuffs and disposal. I really like the idea of "recycling" where you put your stuff downstairs, on the void deck and "God Knows Who" will actually go thru your "rubbish" and take what they really want.

Actually, Matey's spent most of the time cleaning more than me.

Took cab to Marina Square earlier because we missed the bus and costs me $10.

It's now 10. 21pm now.

Today I totally felt my life as quite meaningless.

Went to my favourite Thosai shop for breakfast. It was good! So good it was.

Then to Mustafa for look see look see.

Then to Uniqlo at City Square for a free Tote bag as they celebrate their opening of 10th store.

Headed later to Plaza Sing to buy Zip to make money belt. Yes, I'm using methods to hide my money as a tourist.

Took bus back and then a short nap was in order.

Dinner was at Madam Kwan's at Vivo, my Hokkien mee wasn't too bad but the portions was way too small for $15.

Nasi Lemak, $13 was just so so only. No peanuts! And chicken breast was too dry.

Matey insisted on having dessert at Cafe St. Marc. Matey was at high with their desserts, $9.

Matey is meeting a seller later at 10.30pm to buy 2nd hand tripod for Matey's brother.

Trouble sleeping.

Headed to Orchard area, as my initial plans is to get some stuffs from Muji but I ended up window shopping at H&M, Uniqlo, G2000, Watson's ....

Earlier breakfast at Wendy's was fairly disappointing. Felt my tummy acting halfway thru breakfast.

My so called shopping spree must come to an end.

Paid almost $20 for a black hog Katsudon at the basement of Ion Orchard and it was just so so only.

Later in the afternoon, I watched Supersize Me, a drama documentary about Fast Food taking over the nation and in fact all over the world.

Funny, after the show I just wanted to eat Mc D hahaha!

Had Thai with matey at night. SC called me that time if I could go out to meet but it was such short notice.

Still looking for rooms at Lisbon.

Slept at 2am, must be the Oolong tea with rojak.

Quite comical in some ways and it seems there are lots of dog droppings all over Paris.

Woke up at 7am but as usual, matey takes matey time to get up.

I headed to Orchard Central for breakfast but D&D were closed so ended up eating downstairs.

Bought more long sleeves shirt from Uniqlo and headed out by train to have lunch with matey.

Went to Chinatown and lined up for almost an hour again.

OK. Headed home and searched for rooms at Lisbon. Noticed that it's a small city and the rooms were really affordable compared to other cities that we're going.

Had dinner with matey and then matey headed for meeting.

Lisbon will be put on hold temporarily due to some logistic issue that hopefully will be resolved in the next few days.

Love the Google Earth app on my phone.

Madrid hotels.

I had coffee for breakfast and waited till lunch for ma matey.

Braised pork which was horrible. Only the peanuts and rice was OK.

Headed to Vivo and saw Dead Man Down. Another boring show. Story was like about revenge.

Bought three pieces of clothing from Uniqlo.

The entire evening was finding rooms in Madrid when I fly down from Edinburgh.

According to Trip Advisor, there aren't many hotels in Madrid as compared to Paris.

Just like previous searches, I limit myself to stay nearer to the next exit. In this case, it's the second largest train station in Madrid, somewhere up North and it's located in the Cbd area.

The Trip Advisor app was pretty useless as there wasn't any hotels I could locate within the preset neighborhood, so I had to tweak my search.

I called up Google Maps on my laptop (trust me, after tons of reading and searching, the screen becomes a real estate), located the train station and slowly started to zoom out and in; to slowly locate any hotels around.

There were few and then I read their reviews online. Not very favourable but it's cheaper than Paris, so much much more.

I figured the horrors of dragging our heavy luggage around against spending 20 mins by Metro to downtown Madrid. This 4 days 3 nights slightly run down hotel (not a backpackers place finally!) costs €300.

Next was Edinburgh, I immediately went for Tune hotels, so far my most budget conscious basic hotel. 4 days 3 nights here costs only £92 (including add-ons, without the frills it was only £75!), far cry from the rest. Only catch, check in is 3pm (but I paid £10 extra to check in at noon, and 2 towels and room safe). So far this is the cheapest room among all our travels so far. Location too isn't too bad, next to Metro, airport lines and next to ask farmers Market. Only catch? No windows, TV... but we can do without all those for a few nights right?

I actually had discount coupons which I've attained after booking the budget rooms in Paris and initially wanted to use it in Edinburgh but looking at the reviews, it was rated quite poorly. Location was out, not so clean....

Thanks to the internet and with tools like Trip Advisor, Google Maps, forums, e-commerce, fast broadband and cash (you can save much, much, much, much more if you got a place to bunk).

Also did some research on sleeper trains which matey and I will use. Only catch? Need to buy the tickets in advance.

Accommodation at Paris.

The very last thing I did after midnight (past 12 am this morning) is to purchase my return flight from London.

Because I listened to Matey and Didn't buy it last month, the fare has exploded to more than $1,000 instead of just $800!

This is what happens when I listen to matey!!!

In the morning, I still have my back ache which started at few days ago.

It was due to the extreme straight seat which I sat in the cab on the way to the airport. Now really suffering even to just move.

Had freshly made onion Prata and plain Thosai near my crib.

Headed to Vivo to collect my Citi card (supplementary lah, now not working, no money to own any cards) .

Watched The Hangover 3 which I really liked! Hahaha really funny! You must watch part 1 and two first.

Had packed lunch and most of the afternoon was spent Googling on accommodation in Paris.

Yea, Dear Readers, I'll be going to Europe soon and need to find place to stay there.

Omg, so long never surf until my eyes hurt so much!

My back also hurts, so most of the surfing is done lying down on me bed hahaha.

Luckily wifi was fast and my Mac was able to cope with the thousands of tabs that I must have opened.

OK. This is how I looked for rooms.

My friend whom have been overseas on a weekly basis (some ppl salary is five figure, some people).

I asked for advise and was told to use Tripadvisor for ratings and work my way from there.

There are lots of good and bad places to choose. Some reviews were bias and some sounded too mixed.

So I fixed my own criteria :-
1. Hotel should be near my next place of departure (in this case is train station to Amsterdam).
2. Reviews should state how clean, noisy, dirty, far ... and weight it from there.
3. Price should be €£ 100 maximum per room per night (that also it's already $200).

At the end of the day, I've ended up booking Private Rooms with attached bathrooms (ensuite) in the Youth Hostel because it's the cheapest, though no TV and all the other nitty gritty...

Woke up at 7am plus after sleeping at 4am due to YouTube.

Went to Vivocity first to make a supplementary card for me.

Then to Plaza Sing to for lunch where I lined up for 2 hours for the six of us.

This time the food was much better than the last time I visited.

Took bus back home for a nap and then it was dinner at my cousins place as he is going to Jakarta to work for the next three years. Lots of food, beer and Oysters.

Took cab back.

Sundown & Airport.

So in the wee hours of the morning, I ate one cup noodles, chicken sesame burger and soy milk drink.

Walked to F1 pit stop for the Sundown 10 km marathon run which started at 12.30am.

There was a musical screening and I slept on the plywood while waiting for matey to return at 2am.

We including our friends walked in circles and ended up in Marina Bay Sands Rasapura Food court located just beside the ice rink.

I was surpised to see that it was opened too, well not all the stalls but Dim Sum and hot drinks were good enough already.

At 3 plus when we left, the queue for cab was really crazy, my friends ended up calling and I was lucky to hail one from Changing Shift.

Slept after 4am and woke up at 10am! My 2nd in my entire life.

Had a brunch at IKEA and matey wasn't too pleased with their lunch menu. Matey is in fact more choosy than me.

Wanted to watch movie but seats were bad.

Matey spend the entire afternoon washing the bed sheets and going thru what trash to throw or recycle.

I actually took another nap as it was so hot and bright outside.

When I woke up at 4pm, it just finished raining.

Bought some tea snacks for matey.

Matey got a call that our friends from this morning Marathon is going to Amsterdam tonight for something unfortunate turn of events.

We also tumpang them to the airport by cab and had dinner at T1.

Took train back.

It's now 1.23am and looking at flight details for my up coming trip.

My really really last day at work.

Started work at 9am while SC and Pastry CDP started at 5am for breakfast. I have no idea what fuels them?

The Wk new CDP SMS SC saying he has headache and couldn't come. SC was pretty pissed despite not telling it out.

Work was prep and taking everything out to cook in the evening.

I'm so glad that everything was OK but you know lah, Ec surely has something to say and it was about the lobster meat in the soup, like not cooked enough.

After the dessert, I planed my revenged punked with one of the students part Timer to carry my camera while I took my Good Morning towel and filled it with mayonnaise! Hahaha.

My only invention is to punk the Pastry cook as she punked or at least tried on my last day of work last month.

In the end, everyone got punked except the old part Timer cause he was busy cutting 20 plates of fruits!

Had a hard time taking out the Mayo, eggs, flour, butter, dark soy sauce and God Knows what else.

It was really fun and enjoyable!

Cab came around 10. 40pm and wished everyone Goodbyes.

Showered again and took the bus out to F1 pit stop to give support to matey for the Sundown run which starts at 12. 30am.

It's now almost 1am and watching some crap movie along with lots of others waiting for their love ones to finish their race.

Today 8am till 8pm.

Pastry has problem with their panna cotta, it didn't set well at all, so they had to re do all the 200 pieces again.

Work was opening station, prep and executing the 19 pax set lunch which consists of delicious creme brulee.

Then it was more prep for tomorrow's 190 pax set dinner.

Hmmm, there were lots of oysters to be opened too.

Btw, tomorrow is really really my very last day.

This entire month of part time has only given me enough cash to survive so much but it's time for me to get my ass being kicked.

Matey and I are talking via phone messages but not verbally yet. Hopefully tonight...

Anyway, kena squeeze today again. 8am till 10pm that also wanted to slot last minute prep. Sometimes I don't understand why SC is super kiasu. He always is and will always will be. I can never understand the rational behind SC actions. When I question, there is never a direct answer. A Tiger cannot change his stripes right?

Matey and I have not been talking for the past two days. Matey too cannot justify matey answers. Matey nags, nags, nags ........

It's now 9.50pm and matey just finished language class while I'm now on my way back home.

Started work at 10am and lasted till 9pm.

Entire day was prepping for tonight's dinner which highlights lots of cuisine around the world.

Pastry CDP and I ended up managing the cheese station at the very last minute.

Tomorrow start work at 8am.

Tired already as didn't work for so long.

Back to Airport again.

Bought a new battery extender kit for S4 at $54 from Mobile Square.

There was a very long queue at Jolibee and the fried chicken ain't all that great. Love that it came with rice.

Headed back to the airport to pick up matey, due to traffic jam matey missed the flight and luckily they allowed code sharing.
