Finally, once your request for an extension program for vocational training is approved, you will then be given a schedule by our training center.

Computer Operation NC II

Computer Operation NC II vocational course has been consistently a popular course taken by many students. Many students prefer to study and get a degree in college even if it does not promise a decent job after graduation. However, trade school training for any course is short term but is targeted to give students far more better chances of employment after graduation.

These days, electronic devices are just everywhere. We got cellphones, oven toasters, televisions, fans, and a lot more electronic things. If these things get broken, who would fix them? Of course, electronics technicians! Theses technicians are earning big "secretly". A friend earns $10 to $60 per cellphone he manages to fix, sometimes he can have up to four cellphones fixed in a day!

But how to become an electronics technician? Simple, just get the best training with us!. Enroll in our vocational course training center and learn how to maintain and troubleshoot electronic devices. You will be able to learn how to use the multi-tester, read schematic diagrams, follow safety procedures systematically, read resistor codes, soldering, etching PCB,test discrete components (transistors, capacitors, resistors, triacs, and so on), understand and create simple amplifiers, build a variable power supply, understand television system, and a lot more. This common and important skills to learn will give every student a kickstart to their dream of becoming a good electronics technician.

Our electronics vocational course training does not require any payment upon enrollment. The expenses are however too minimal as compared to studying in any college. The training would last up to three months and an addition 240-hour on-the-job training is also required.

The instructor for consumer electronics course is Mr. Nestor Umbac, a TESDA certified instructor and also an active electronics technician. It also covers car body rebuilding, painting, and maintenance. The course is divided into two main areas which are diesel engine and gasoline engine subjects. Not all automobiles have the same fuel systems and that is the reason why it is so.

Apart from that, things about automobile and engine history, concepts, and principles are also to be discussed. Theoretical instructions comprise forty percent of the total number of hours of the training and the rest is spent for practical or for manual activities. The OJT should be rendered in an establishment strongly related to automotive mechanic servicing.

In countries abroad, automotive servicemen are constantly in demand. Automotive servicing may be a dirty job but it does promise a good pay. Probably you may want to get a certification for such training in plumbing, welding, sewing, computer hardware servicing, heavy equipment operation, medical radiography, and other vocational courses. Yes, there are free technical vocational courses offered by different training centers but are mostly government funded and of course for free!

What is Technical Vocational Education?

Technical vocational education is a type of education where a student is to be prepared to do some specific manual jobs. It is also accompanied to accomplish an on-the-job training for usually 240 to 900 hours depending on the course requirement.

Technical vocational courses are provided by community training centers or colleges or perhaps technology centers supported by the government.

Does Technology Education College Can Answer The Need For Manual Laborers?

Some colleges provide training for students and unemployed adults for specialized skills. A technology education college might give or offer training which the industry both local and abroad are currently in demand. Take for example the massive constructions in Dubai, they badly need good welders and plumbers. Where on earth will they be able to meet their demands? Simple, look for countries with a pool of skill-specific or specialized employees abroad like the Philippines and Taiwan.

That is why some colleges are offering technology courses which the students may attend the training from at least three months to two years and are also required to complete their OJT.

This is an answer for countries like Dubai. If a certain country is in need of welders, a technology education college do not solely offer it. But instead they offer different courses which they project to be in demand some time in the future.

Such vocational career training is so popular among the third world countries and the developing countries as well. Surveys show that students between ages 14 to 17 want to get a course that will surely employ them after graduation and for a short period of time. Vocational tech schools can answer this call.

Tips For Finding The Right Vocational Tech Schools In Your Location

If possible, find the nearest vocational tech schools in your locality. Examine their facilities and equipment. Which ever is nearest to your home and with adequate training setup, then go for it.

Check if that certain training center is registered by your local technical vocational regulating authority.

Please do also check if the listed vocational courses they offer are fully registered.

Also inquire if that particular technical school has a good history for its students evaluation and examination.

Ask if a scholarship is available. Most vocational technical schools are sponsored and are open for scholars.

These simple tips are very useful in finding the perfect vocational tech school for you. A short training from these schools does not guarantee you a job but it sure does prepare you and give you a bigger chance of employment. Not mentioning that technical skilled employees are paid higher - attending a vocational skills training is a sound investment.

Staffs' Frames

Students' Frames

Refrigeration and Air Conditioning | RAC

Refrigeration and Air Conditioning or RAC is one of the newest courses being offered by CLHIDO. Having a good training in RAC ensures us bigger chances of being employed both locally and abroad. Aside from that, you may also go for self-employment and hire other aircon technicians to work with you.

RAC is an in demand course specially in highly developed countries. Countries with massive building constructions like Dubai and Saudi Arabia are in need of RAC technicians. Aside from air conditioning unit installation and troubleshooting in buildings and other structures, your skill can even be utilized to work with the automotive industry.

The only downside of having to enroll in this type of skills training is - there are too few schools or centers offering it. And if ever it is offered, it is way too expensive and many could not afford it. Others perhaps would volunteer to work in a RAC shop just to gain knowledge and skills in about a year or so. Such vocational course training is essential and that is why CLHIDO and Dumaguete City is reaching out to the community by offering such course.

RAC training at CLHIDO includes basic air conditioning unit motor re-winding, tube patching and soldering, pumping freon, troubleshooting refrigeration problems, cleaning the units, and so many other skills required for employment abroad. That is a great advantage for us.

The instructor for RAC is Mr. Cresente Mamac, a certified RAC technician. He specializes in industrial electronics and services which includes refrigeration and air conditioning. Few of these companies are medium scale and the rest are construction and mining giants. Bulldozers, loaders, cranes, dump trucks, graders, excavators, forklifts, compactors, and other equipment are always around and should each have an operator. You can be driving and operating these wonderful machines soon.

Upon applying for a heavy equipment operator job, a certification is usually required. Though not a prerequisite, it is the best proof of the skills that you possess. Tech vocational schools like CLHIDO do issue a certification upon the completion of the said course. Technical vocational courses like heavy equipment operation are becoming more popular and are preferred by students to take as it gives them a bigger chance of employment after graduating. Though most government controlled and owned tech schools are free, some of the expenses will be shouldered by the students. In heavy equipment operation, students are asked to pay $75 to $125 for the machine rental and fuel's payment.

This is already a bargain, you can do more than that in a day once you'll become a certified heavy equipment operator! But before becoming one of those certified operators, you must undergo some months of training (which is at least three months) and required to have an on-the-job training at a local construction, mining, or similar firms. After the training and OJT, you are also required to take TESDA's examination for the Heavy Equipment Operation National Certification Level II. This certification issued by the government is recognized abroad. The heavy equipment operation certification also do have some little fee to pay to cover the examination costs.

We have several students now working in Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Canada, Australia, and other parts of the world joining the elite group of heavy equipment operators. We also have employed our students to the local mining and construction industries. Our vocational training follows TESDA's training framework which also is compliant with the present international industry standard.

Our heavy equipment operation instructor is Mr. Kurt Rodriguez, a TESDA certified instructor and currently works in the government of Dumaguete. The venues for the training are in the HITC building for theoretical classes and in the City Dump Site for actual classes. The training will hold for three months plus a 240-hour OJT. Study now in CLHIDO and become one of the best heavy equipment operators!

Computer Hardware Servicing NC II

Computer Hardware Servicing NC II is another in demand course these days due to the computerization of most public and private offices. Building wiring technicians are essential in the construction industry. The main job for building wiring technicians are lighting fixture installations, interpret building wiring plans, set proper wiring, install home and industrial electrical machines, and troubleshoot electrical devices.

Electrician training centers are too few in the region where it is almost a disregarded vocational course. It is because electrical wiring is often learned easily through practical applications. There may be too few technical training centers offering building wiring, we offer it here entirely for free.

Upon enrolling in our technical school's training, you will be learning things about wiring splices, switch configuration, lighting fixture installation and maintenance, wiring planning, assembly of electrical devices, and more. After the training, each student is required to undergo a 240 hour on-the-job-training at any establishment involving electrical engineering or similar.

An OJT is a window of opportunity for every student as they may be absorbed as workers instead of just being a trainee when a supervisor or manager sees your performance as exceptional. There are many workers in local engineering establishments coming from our vocational training school. The quality of our training in building wiring is currently unparalleled.

Mrs. Lhena Refe is our instructor for Building Wiring Installation, a TESDA certified and National Certification II Examination Passer, and a certified TESDA assessor. It may be a reality that the interest of many students to enroll in a tailoring course drastically dropped for the last 5 years. Automation and technology significantly reduced the need of skilled hands of the large garment companies and this may be the reason of the said decline of enrollees.

Still, some vocational training schools offers tailoring and dressmaking class as it is necessary for some housewives to earn through making garments on their spare time. Majority of the enrollees are moms and unemployed women wanting to make a decent living out from making garments.

The training generally includes making pants, and other tailoring products. Pattern making, using of the sewing machine, proper textile cutting, taking body measurements, and other related tasks are some of the competencies that you are to tackle. Another program related to tailoring class is bag making which is currently being offered and implemented at Dumaguete City Jail.

There is no need to pay to get enrolled for Tailoring and Dressmaking course, you are a city scholar if you are from Dumaguete City. CLHIDO gladly welcomes students wanting to learn and soon earn through our skills development programs like tailoring and dressmaking.

CLHIDO's instructor for dressmaking and tailoring is Mrs. Estrellita Tan. Having been enrolled in a Vocational Course Training is such a sweet opportunity where learning is methodical and highly technical. The trainings provided by the City Livelihood and Home Industries Development Office (CLHIDO) are streamlined from the standards of TESDA's NC II teaching methodology. Though inadequate with the right facility, the center is able to produce quality graduates and highly skilled workforce.

They are the 10 of the 12 students who participated in the fund raising

Dario, the Very Active PC Op Class president who with ate Coleen first proposed and initiated the fund raising project.

Since the center only provides seven (7) ATX Computers for the training in which two of the seven units were unusable, the two defective units further increased the difficulty of the training. The said units are being used alternately by eighty-four (84) students for both PC Operation and Computer Hardware Servicing students. This is a radical truth, the ratio of the units and the students are way out of balance. In effect, the resulting training becomes almost useless. Two dead units are such burden to both trainees and Instructor.

Right to Left: Analiza, Marmelyn, and Ate Coleen

Ang mga artista nga nangaroling!

Twelve PC Operation Students made a bold move to surpass the difficulty in using the Training Center's Computers. The two unused Computer System units have defective power supply and ram and the twelve students decided to raise funds through Christmas Carolling. Their route in Sibulan included Poblacion,Magatas, Cangmating Area, and Tubtubon. Fortunately, the group managed to raise 2,150.00 enough buy a power supply unit, a keyboard, and a 256 Mb ram. With their effort, we now have seven functioning computers being used for the training. Their desire to help the training center do not end there, they are aiming to gather and raise more funds to buy the defective LCD Projector bulb, additional keyboards and mouse, and other peripherals. The amount to raise is really big and hard to target. They said this thing they did is by no means to humiliate the government, this is an act to share, not only for their common good but also for the benefit of the succeeding trainees. It's their way of showing how to be human and humane.

The seven mighty heroes are Coleen, Dario, Jenny, Marj, Marlyn, Carol, Rogin, Arvin, Beverly, Analiza, Jason, and Marmelyn all are students of CLHIDO's PC Operation and Hardware Servicing previous and present students. We are so proud of the wonderful thing you did.
