I been of the grid for a couple of months, to be honest when you thinking about writing a journal, a blog or a diary becomes an effort, it means that you need to take a break. Thing going amazing, move to a new house, we still working on fill it up with furniture, but I am waiting to buy the right pieces; just finish making arrangements to go for the first time to Comic-Con (awesome), I have to say is been a very stressful process, from buying badges to hotel reservations, is just crazy, I hope the experience in July worth all the headaches.

When we move to a new house, kids had to be move also to a different schools, Hallie love her new school, the oldest had a little hard time to adjust, thank God she is doing better, Cole also had been sign up for the fall, that means more free time for me, which has make me think I want to go back to school. We taking one day at the time to recover from the awful past year, but overall Life is good, and I hope stays like that for a while.

Thank You for reading. Probably you're having the same stress that I'm having, I plan around July, trying to start getting presents very early, but I end up to date not haven't finish Christmas shopping; stores are madness, I even was in a wrestling match on this after thanksgiving sale on Walmart, I been taking care of the "big" presents online, my fave place to shop is Amazon, no taxes, free shipping, so when Target, Toys R Us or any store will charge me the taxes, I don't have to worry it in this website.

Schools being busy, from Choir Concerts, to this week kids having a little get together before been off from school for a couple of weeks.

But, in all the holiday madness, people remember the family, everyone is in better spirits and smiles, you receive Christmas Cards, in my case TONS of them, thanks to a wonderful club I belong around the world.

We also make a list of New Year's "goals" that if we want to be honest, we not planning to do.

Mine is.....

Losing 40 lbs.
Take some classes
Finding a Home
Losing 50 lbs.

As much annoying December turns sometimes, I do appreciated the blessings of this year, more when things haven't been that great; I do enjoy the cookies my husband makes (best Peanut Butter cookies EVER), the faces of my kids when they opening their presents, just in general our time together. I hope you enjoy it as much I do.

I am falling apart, this is becoming a hard year to buy for Christmas, Cassie is now 11 and in 6th grade, and not a kid anymore so is not like I can get her a Barbie and is going to be super thankful, don't get me wrong I have amazing kids, and they would never complain because they didn't receive something, but not only the older they get, the harder to gift, but also the older they are, the expensive the presents become. From a Barbie to a Tablet is a huge difference of price, and what? now the presents also become more clothes, but in there is no wow factor, unless our kids are in to fashion.....now....If we would be talking about Hallie it would be excitement, but Cassie is more a farm girl kid that Fashionista.

Also, there is no blame it to Santa cause you didn't get what you want it, is more like sorry that mom and dad didn't have enough budget for Christmas, or, mom got a horrible outfit for you. I really don't enjoy much Holidays, Birthdays or any celebration that involves presents, I kinda forget them very often, including mine ( who wants to remember that I'm getting old). I cant wait to finish Christmas shopping and stop stressing on what to get.

When I was writing my last Blog Post, I realize that I still have tons of places to take my kids this holidays to see, so if your in Las Vegas areas, this is what I found. I mention before we visit the Ethel M Chocolate Factory to see their Light Botanical Garden and the Motor Speedway to see their display of lights, so make sure you read my last post.

Magical Forest from Opportunity Village. They created a Winter Wonderland in a one-and-a-half acres of millions of lights, rides, and holiday scenery. You will find a Train that will ride 2 acres of road, and a Carousel, and Alpine slide, and I cant forget the goodies like funnel cakes, hot cocoa, hot dogs and such things on sale at kiosks.

Winter in Venice. The Venetian Hotel and Casino give us their best by adding a 2,000 festive lights and 30 larger than life snowflakes hang above as gondoliers whisk by the largest ice skating rink on the Strip. Characters wandering and egg nog cupcakes and more waiting for you in this property.

Winter Wonderland at Sam’s Town Mystic Falls Park. Another local Casino with what is now a tradition that they been doing over 15 years, they decked out the holidays by making their Mystic Falls Park snow all month until New Years, a visit to Santa is a must.

Many of the mall have Santa visiting; Boulder City offers a train ride with Santa in it and another skating rink was build in the Lakes for everyone enjoyment. So please, if you come to visit us, do not forget to stop by this locations.

I been off blogging most of the month, to be honest is wasn't lack of time, was just laziness, I just wasn't inspire. Life is been as usual, from good to uneventful, Hubby got a promotion, which is super, we had found a wonderful church to start attending service, we felt that with so many thing going on, we need it some food for the soul, to me what was more important is the children's ministry the have, which is amazing, because if my kids are OK, i'm OK.

We went to the Ethel M. Chocolate Factory, every year the put a display of lights on their Botanical Garden, Is pretty nice, I totally recommended if your in Las Vegas visiting this December, you can walk thru the paths to see more than half a million colorful lights, at the end you might get a chance to take a picture with Santa, and also visit the MM's store, tour the factory and end at the Ethel M store for more fancy chocolates.

Hallie had a Thanksgiving play and she was dress as a Pilgrim, I must say she did great, she work hard to learn her line and songs. We spend Thanksgiving day with hubby cooking and watching Football (of course), by the way Marie Callender's Pies.......AMAZING!!!!, hubby and the girls went to grab some while I wait in the car, and came back with 4 pies, Cheese, Pumpkin, Apple and Chocolate Pie, we eat pies for days, not that is healthy to do that, but is not healthy to eat leftovers either, I can see my belly grow by the day and Christmas is not here yet, I have a wedding to attend next year, how am I going to loose all this weight?

This past weekend the kids sign all the Christmas cards we planning to send, and they help me to add addresses, I'm still writing a note in them but they so many, 80 to be exactly, so is taking me longer to fill them up. By Saturday we stop by to see even more lights at the Motor Speedway here in Las Vegas, their display is call Glittering Lights (known before as The Gift of Lights), they feature 2.5 miles of lights, with more than 400 animated and sparkling displays, boys Scouts were selling this glasses that look 3D glasses, but no 3D, is even cooler, it make you see every light like a snowflake, so this is another neat place to visit.

Overall is been a different November, a better one, a fun one, I hope you enjoy your like I did mine, because the fun is just starting.

In Halloween me and my husband have already mark for 3 years were to take the kids for Candy, we still have the cuteness factor with Hallie and Cole, we pretty much have to empty their bags several times that way they can put more candy in.

They had an amazing night, but, like many parent is hard to control all that candy, we even have to divide it, separating the chocolate (to be put in the fridge), suckers, and the rest of hard candy. We decide to give them 3 pieces each per day, and we can say that until tonight, I can officially say they done. Is been crazy and not a very healthy October, but like aways...we cant wait for next year.

Thank You for reading. For those that dont know, I am originally from Mexico, is a difference between how you are raise in the south of the country and where I was born and raise, I was born in the Northwest part of the country, Baja California, on one side of the border. In this part of the country we are more expose to the US and the mexican culture is not that strong, I dont want to get into this, and explain it cause can be confusing, and I just want it to give you a back story for my post.

I am proud of who I am and my culture, but since I marry a wonderful man in the US, I move here, embrace this country as mine and love it. My hubby doesn't talk any Spanish, and he only understand a few words, like llantas, chichis, and cerveza (lol fyi you can Google this); because of this, inside my household we only speak English.

When I meet people from a Latin America country and leaving in this country, I always been ask "do your kids know Spanish" and my answer is always "the oldest knows and understand some and can speak with an accent but not the two youngest yet", with this they answer back, "oh!!!, are you going to teach them?", I know I will, but really offends me the way I been ask this, I most politely will answer back "of course I will, but not now, for one, I am in America, were everyone talk of course English, I don't want them to grab an accent and to be honest like I said before we only speak English (even with my accent) at my home, I find it offended if I would speak Spanish in front of my husband and he cant understand what is been told, I just find it disrespectful; two , why make my teachers a nightmare because my child doesn't know what is been said on the classroom, three, they get there fair share of Spanish when they visit they grandparents and last, in Junior High they will have classes of Spanish to speed them up.

I don't like the fact that I been judge for not teach them Spanish, they will, as soon they actually can handle the one they suppose to know now, I also believe in teach them not only Spanish but also maybe Japanese, Italian and others, this will help them in their future professions and languages are a wonderful thing.

I just feel that people look at me like I am betraying my culture or something, like I said before, I embrace who I am and where I came from, but also embrace this wonderful country and what stands for like my own, so deal with it and stop the OHs!!!!!!

You seen TV lately? Spooky flicks are on many channels, a few years ago the only horror you see was in October when many channels take the dust out in horror movies and put them non stop (like right now), yes we do have on and off shows in the past like The X Files, Buffy the Vampire Slaughter and others, but in the era of Cable TV, horror in full mode, and is cool. Dang there is an Award show on Spike TV call Sream Awards.

You have Nickelodeon and Disney making shows like Wizard of Waverly Place; you looking stuff for teens? well MTV and the CW has a few too, The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural; looking for networks that can give you a bigger doses of spookiness you can go to SyFy or just go straight to Fear Net. Crazy about Reality TV? Ghost Hunters, Ghost Adventures, Mediums, Ghost Histories you name it, there is a show for it.

What about for the most sophisticated viewer, Dexter has given us a serial killer we like to watch, or HBO has make us watch 1 minute of soft porn with True Blood, and yes ladies doesn't matter how you want to call it but is soft porn, I'm not complaining, I love the show, is another one of those things that is also cool to watch, figures. One of my Favorites The Walking Dead, just praying that the world doesn't end this way, cause I'm pretty sure I will be eating by zombies in the first couple of hours.

And they haven't stop, with new shows coming, like Grimm, The Secret Circle and the bizarre American Horror Story (with free butt scenes from Dylan McDermott, thank you very much). I can say this, I am enjoying the versatility on TV right now, we will have spooky stories to watch all year round.

In this day and age were even Sponge bob will wear square pants, I find myself involve in a fight of wills with my 4 yr old son (Cole), since he start potty in the bathroom, he has found himself more relax wearing just underwear and no shorts/pants, the irony is that his favorite underwear is his Sponge bob SquarePANTS set.

On a positive note is that he will keep the underwear, on the negative is that I find myself hard to hide from him when I want to cry or laugh when very proud of himself he takes his privates out and says "look mommy, my pitito is big" for those that don't know Spanish check on Google for the word, it looks like when he had a diaper on, he couldn't reach into the package, now with more access it seems he found a new toy to show off. I am not reading into it, I know he is only 4 and he is just trying to be cute, and he has calm down and stop doing this exposure that often, but, I just hope he outgrows this stage, cause, what we find cute and funny at 4, 10 years later we find it as being a pervert and ready to go to jail for exposing himself. On a more positive note when we go out he will let me put pants on him and he doesn't touch or give me a hard time for wearing them.

Any thoughts on how to help me out to make him wear his pants?

Sometimes stress of life make us forget what is important, daily life becomes a routine and we forget paying attention to the ones close to us. Since last weekend me and my hubby start taking the kids to a nature preserve to have a small BBQ and today we took them to church (with the move back to Las Vegas, we haven't been going to any service) and BBQ after that, I guess we need it some preaching, I must say that the message hit us hard, like meant to be for us, and to be honest I am not a very religious person, but feeling like the sermon was meant to you, just freaks me out; the kids really enjoy themselves and they definitely enjoy the walking paths and have all the area to ride their scooters.

Hubby and I really start to understand to not forget enjoying our kids, even in this time of hardship we been going trough, like the song says "You going miss this".

Like I say, sometime stress of life make us forget what is important, I just remind you that, so stop forgetting and get out there and enjoy your family.

With Halloween almost here, the stores are full of extra candy and costumes, and of course television is in full mode scary, just look at channels like AMC Fear Fest all month and also the new season of The Walking Dead (a must).

Anthony Hopkins (Image via RottenTomatoes.com)

I have to say I am a movie junkie, I will watch anything, even if it sucks, this helps me appreciate the good movies; horror is one of those guilty pleasures of mine, is so bad that has to be good. I came up with a Horror-meter that makes me score this movies, shows, or anything related with horror, and I want to share it with you.

1. Lame Troll. No need to say that this is for the horror movies that are so bad that you feel you last a couple of hours of your life that you will not get back, ex. Nightmare on Elm Street 4, Ghoulies, Leprechaun (ring a bell?), they were so bad that I didn't know if I should laugh or cry....or even dare to finish the whole thing.

2. The Jump. Is the movie that make you do a little unexpected jump from your seat, you can put in this category horror movies that involve teenagers (scream, final destination), I am not saying they are bad, but are not the ones that make me have nightmares while I sleep. It can also be movies like

3. Sick and disturbing. We have tons of movies that fit #3. The Human Centipede people! it is so disturbing that I need it to turn my face away a few times, and guess what? they came with the idea of The Human Centipede 2. Who can forget the Hostel movies or House of 1000 Corpses, or the first Hellraiser wasn't bad, but after the first it went down hill. Any type of Zombies might fit in this category based on the fact that, well they pretty much spend the whole movie eating you.

4. Peek a Boo. Level 4 is dedicated to the suspense and horror movies that give me a story that doesn't show much scary stuff but it get your there; they always keep me in the edge of my couch. This might sound like Level 2, the difference is that this are a much better movies. Stories about hunting and everything in between (Amityville) We have many like Psycho, Halloween, The Haunting and Saw.

5. Hannibal Honors. This Score goes for the best in Horror and suspense, the ones that you still talking about them, the movies that make your sleep habits to change for a bit; The Exorcist and the Shinning are a good example, until this day everyone remember this, they are a classic that even with time will still scare the crap out of you; or of course The Silence of the Lambs, what Anthony Hopkins did with this character is by far one of his best work. We are not talking about conventional in your face horror, but this type of movies leave you with a lasting impression and you will be willing to watch them again every October when they give you a Marathon of this movie gender.

I cant say my scale really can tell you that my top movies will be your taste, but it works for me. This days horror has change so much, movies like Paranormal Activity are the NEW Poltergeist and Japanese remakes are in. What is you favorite horror movies? or you think I should add something to my scale? Horror movies suck in general, but what makes them watchable is the fact that I don't expect much from them, and when it ends up being a good movies, really turns into a good surprise.

But, I realize that sometime, just sometimes, I really, really need to vent, can you relate to the moment in life when everything that can go wrong, goes wrong, well, this is it, but because I am a mom and I want to act like nothing is going on in front of my children, and also having a husband that needs that emotional and strong attitude from a wife, I just try to let it go.

When I think I will fall apart Is good to find a location like the bathroom or other place were you can be by yourself tear your eyes out, but, I know if I let it out, it will be a disaster, so to keep my cool, I remember the people for whom I have to stay strong, I guess love is a powerful medicine to take when your feeling down.

Have you notice that if you have a two or four year old kid, most of the cases always something becomes a drama and a live and death situation?

Case and point, my son Cole (4yrs old), runs out of snacks or drink, I say "no more, you already had enough", his smile turns into wining, I keep saying no, wining turns into crying, is like he is almost having a near death experience; this will go on until I give up...or if I am lucky, he will fall sleep crying because i dont give in, you get my point?

Then, I realize that we as adults show this kinda behavior sometimes. Case and point, woman (not me) wants new pair of shoes, husband says "we cant afford it right now", woman throws a tantrum, husband says " try to understand", woman starts dropping tears in silence but in a way to make the husband aware of them, result, he gives in.

Not getting what we want all the time should not become a fight of wills with our love ones, you will not die of hunger or thirst if you don't get that snack or drink; your feet will not get a medical mystery for the lack of that pair of shoes.
Thank You for reading. For 10 years, every year on September 11, we remember the past. You might think that because I wasnt born and raise in this country, it will not feel anything, but your wrong. On that morning I was still living in a border town from California, I woke up and the TV was showing live what was happening, the first plane just crash, I don't want to get into it, but I spend all day attached to the TV, I was overwhelm, cry and heartbroken to see what was happening. News were saying that the border was close and in high alert, It was strange seeing the road to cross the border empty at that time of the day, thats unheard to happen. I had a few friends in the military so as soon I knew this was a terrorist attack, I knew that sooner or later they would be deploy to find who ever has done this.

For years to come on this day I spend hours watching the History Channel and many more channels, reviving this moments, don't ask me why, I just think that in my mind I felt that record this event in my mind would be important for the future. Now that I have my husband and children, born and raise Americans, I understood that is important explaining my children what happen, remember and never forget the people lost on that day. I love this country, since I marry I embrace it as mine, I love for what stands for, and every day I try to learn the history, the past; and by learning the past, I can explain my kids the present, so they understand and be thankful of their future.

We had a wonderful Labor Day, nn company of some friends, hubby and our kids went to Mount Charleston not far from Las Vegas for a picnic, but the clouds all day should it be a warning that 30 minute up in the mountain start to rain and our fire was just "wet off". If we were planning to stay the night camping we would it ride the rain, but we drive to the top of the mountain for nicer weather and a picnic.

We decided to head to Spring Mountain Ranch, which is probably 1 hour away from the top of the mountain and hopefully no rain. We got there and nice much easy weather and warmer; we had tacos and hot dogs for the kids, try to do some trail hiking, but the Boy decide that he want it to go poop half way in the trail, had to run him asap back to some public bathrooms, I must say I was proud of him, since he was able to control it and got there on time with no accidents.

Overall was a good day even with all the driving, had a great time with our friends, and the kids had fun trying to use a metal detector, which Hallie want it to find gold, and fighting for the little dog that belong to our friends.

Today was a busy day, I stop in the Circle K close to me to grab very fast a couple of things, in my way out I see this kid, I believe he was 16 (guessing here), he was opening a package of gum, by the time I sit on my car seat he was almost finish opening the package, and with no reservations, he just drops the wrapping plastic in the ground.

I start thinking "well isn't he not old enough to walk the 5 steps to the trash and drop the wrapping there?", then I am thinking, "well maybe I should blame half of this to his mom to not teaching that making trash for others to pick is a no no". Many probably think if is my business to even criticize this kid for such a small matter, and I didn't make it my business since I didn't make a sarcastic comment to him and went my way.

I will be honest, I am not the most "green" person in the planet, but this is one of the lesson I DO teach my kids, I do flip when my almost 5 yr old boy drop some trash behind him, always explain that I will not pick up and is a no no, and I always ask him to take stuff to the trash bag for me. If we are out I always take a little sandwich bag with me, and put any small trash that the kids make inside the bag, which goes inside my purse until I can get rid off. I think the small lessons in life to are kids, are the ones that will make them a better person when they become adults.

After spending 3 days on overdue back to school shopping, and start my two girls in two different new schools, two different schedules, the only thing I can say is "What a Nightmare". Kids came back from grandparents three days before school start, this means that they were sleeping late, so waking up at 6:30 AM in the morning haven't been the most popular thing with them, then the traffic outside both schools was awful, I understand its the first day school but even with less people on Friday still I have to arrive 35 mins early to pick them up with a 100+ degree temperatures, this is because someone very smart decide to put to elementary schools on one side of each other, not to mention that middle school is right about the corner.

The first day my 11 yr old, who just started 6th grade, got a schedule from 7th grader, she didn't even realize this until the second period, and when she told the science teacher, he/she told her to wait until the end of the class, why????? she should it been send to the counselor asap, she didn't belong in that class! By the end of the day I went to talk to the counselor and she told me they fix the problem.

Also at my 6 yr old elementary school already start Fundraising by doing a meet and greet at Chuck E. Cheese, I had to explain Hallie that is not free you have to buy your stuff, but for some reason she believes that the teacher pays of it.

Overall the girls had a fair week, learning names, schedules, meeting people and all that good stuff, but we are just feeling so hangover hahaha, I will be sleeping all weekend.

It all started last year, suddenly my kid has boobs and other non mentioning new items in her body, but it hit me yesterday when I decided going to Walmart to get her Liners and Pads (just in case) and some anti-Acne items appropriate to her age that I in denial, I felt embarrassed have to ask a 17 yr old Walmart customer what she recommend it for her skin, since Cassie is to young I didn't want to put something to strong in her young face, but since she started school on Monday some pimples appear in her forehead. The pads I decided to buy them, not anybody business but for the just in case, this because I start having conversations with her about the menstrual cycle, about not letting one touch her inappropriately, and all that juicy stuff we as parents don't honestly feel comfortable talking to them.

For those reading that are in my same situation, I found out that Neutrogena has items not to strong for our little girls face, also that Kotex has a brand call "U" for tween pads, liners and tampons, I will let you know later on how they work on her.

I don't think I am overreacting since I was an early bloomer too, I guess at this point I will take it slow and I probably doing something right since I don't remember my mom having conversations and help like this, bless her heart.

They say he appear intoxicated, but after watching the interview he gave, it look more like he is just an a%$$@ole on daily basis....and a jerk, you can even see the poor girlfriends, which by the way try to defend him to try to make him stop answering questions by squeezing his hand, and the jerk getting annoy by this.
I understand that boys are raise differently from girls, and maybe the fact that dads have to rough them up to become man, but this was no place or time, even if the boats were still, even if there was only one more boat or 80 boats and even if the boy knows how to swim like a pro, you just don't this!
I know, I know lame reference, but my hubby make me watch this freakin movie EVERY TIME is on TV, for those that don't know, is on TV a lot, just check AMC this month; but look at what I mean and you will understand the reference.

Examples.

When we have to tell something to our parents, if tell them how I feel or what is going on, guess what, they had plans for you, and what you just said is not part of it. They will just give me a free advice.... they will introduce information to my ears that I didn't ask.

When a friend ask you for an advice, is because they want you to approve something they about to do, even when is the wrong decision, your honest and guess what, the get upset.

Other people in the internet, when you going to comment about an article or a group you belong online, but guess what, if they think you talking about them (which you might not cause you talking in general terms) they start personal attacks by replying your comment with nasty words.

I can go on and on with more examples, but I think you get my point, the true of the matter is that this you cant give you honest opinion about things, because you might be afraid to offend someone, I mean, I am not saying being rude or use inappropriate language, but in some point it gets annoying had to bite you tongue to not hurt someone you haven't even met feeling (like the last example).

I think is time that we can communicate with out getting nasty or you don't like what other people is saying or doing, remember we all humans and everyone has different personalities, and some word can just come out wrong. Just take a deep breath and analyse it before you react, lets be honest, sometimes they might be right, I know this cause sometimes happens to me.
