For years I was a volunteer at some of the major golf tournaments held at Pebble Beach—which meant I had to dress the part—and buy the official uniform.   This has the official insignia of the 100th US Open when I wore this for the four shifts I worked —and never again.

This June Pebble Beach is hosting the  US Open for the first time since then, and I don’t work as a volunteer anymore.   So I’m cluttercasting this jacket in honor of  the A T & T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am going on this week.  If you or your son love golf, this is par for the course.

Overcoming the Money Disorders that Threaten Our Financial Health—in case you can’t read the subtitle.

I was on a conference call the other day with the author of the book,  Dr. Brad Klontz,  one of the experts for H & R Block. He is a financial psychologist—an area of expertise I’ve never heard of  but seems desperately needed, considering how many people have problematical relationships with money.

Obviously, someone with clutter issues probably also has money issues—-which is why I’m offering this book to anyone who thinks they need it more than I do.

Are you making  a New Year’s Resolution?

Exactly one year ago, as my New Year’s resolution,  I started my other blog,  Cluttercast.

Every day I posted an item from my clutter, and gave it away to someone who wanted it.

It was a big success—-most of all, for me.   This was the first time in my entire life I successfully kept my New Year’s resolution.

At least for 6  months.

That’s about when I went from cluttercasting daily……to sporadically…..to rarely.

A year later, I wish I could say I’m out of clutter.   I am out of the habit of cluttercasting it.

And unlike other projects I haven’t finished, this isn’t something I can  hide in a closet or stick in a drawer.   Cluttercast is out there.

And there it sits.  Like the elephant in the living room.  (In fact, I actually cluttercast some elephants!)

Even elephants probably follow Newton’s basic law— an object in motion will stay in motion.

More to the point, an object at rest will stay at rest.

I hate making decisions;   I’ve been struggling over what to do.   New Year’s seems like the perfect deadline to decide:

Cluttercast?

Clarity?

Closure?

All of the above?

None of the above?

Or  my friend Myra’s brilliant suggestion—-that I cluttercast Cluttercast.

Meanwhile it’s almost New Year’s—–and I finally made a decision:   This year I’m not making a New Year’s resolution.

I first  “met” Kim on Twitter, then  for real at BlogHer…and now this makes her the all-time Guest Cluttercaster.

You MUST see what she’s doing on her blog,: where she calls her version of cluttercast:  “The Great Free Crap Giveaway.” Don’t miss it!!

The problem is clutter….not the clutter in my house, but the clutter in my brain—which is filled with too many other projects, all going on simultaneously.

Lots of people have the same problem;  they handle the overload by being organized.  Then again, if I were organized, I wouldn’t have all this clutter in the first place.

In the meantime, thanks for your patience!

IQ test:

The kids are back in school and that includes Lilli, whose mom thought she would enjoy the Mensa game.   Lilli and her mom Denys first played at home over the summer—and now Lilli has taken the game back with her— to Harvard.

Speaking of Harvard, which was the setting for “Love Story”, here’s the Cluttercast version:

Girl meets boy while she is studying abroad in the US one summer.  They fall in love.  When summer school ends, their relationship continues although they remain separated by oceans and continents.  In her comment Diane  explains that her boyfriend calls her” bunny“.  So I send him this bunny—and they send back this picture—of the two of them, with bunny—all together in cyberspace.  I love it.

 This purse is so cute! I’d love it for me and my daughter to share!  She was given some “peace” tie dye t-shirts and a knit cap. This would complete her outfit from that era perfectly even though we’re too young to remember the era, it seems the clothing and style are enjoying a resurgence and as always, what was once old is new again! Peace, man!

So I haven’t  abandoned Cluttercast ; I’ve just procrastinated.   And I’ve just gotten into a really great exercise routine –so hopefully it’s contagious.

My ex-husband  used to say I am the most generous person he knows, who will give you anything I have;  unless it’s chocolate—in that case, I’ll fight you to the death.  Which makes this a rare, even historic occasion.   Normally I would stash it for a future emergency; but I’m feeling overwhelmed by the expressions of chocolate-flavored love and decided to share.   I’m posting this before I eat it myself change my mind.
