At Clos-ette, we are no strangers to accessories. We love love love accessories to transform any outfit! If you're the same way, you need to check out Send the Trend. You fill out a survey, based on your style, and for only $30 you'll have a fabulous accessory sent to you that was picked out specially for you by an expert stylist! When we heard of Send the trend, we jumped at the opportunity to find out more about this awesome company. To tell us more about Send the Trend we interviewed the fabulous Mariah Chase to get an inside look.

Hi Mariah! We are so excited to let our readers know more about Send the Trend. So let's get started! Where did the idea for Send the Trend come from?

The main idea came from our CEO and Co-Founder, Divya Gugnani. She
envisioned an easier way for the time-pressed woman (i.e. all of us!)
to shop. As someone who shopped exclusively online and had always
worked in accessories, when she approached me - I just knew I had to
be involved. We launched in October of this year.

Where does the inspiration for your products come from?
Everything! We watch the runways in NY, London, Paris and Milan and
of course Christian has an amazing point of view and creative vision.
That said, we're equal opportunity inspirationists!

If there was a style you felt the trend, leans towards what would it be?
It seems our customer loves feminine, girly details, i.e. pearls and
baubles. On the whole, she's a little glam, classic & trendy.
Personally, I veer towards accessories with clean, bold lines that
have a little sweetness & amp; edge - kind of a Roger Vivier meets Eddie
Borgo look.

What do you love best about Send the Trend?
The team - we have so much fun everyday I can't believe it's work!
Also, I love love love jewelry, so to play with, research, create
jewelry for a living is magical.

What if I have multiple style choices?

You may change your style survey anytime you like. So if you are looking for evening accessories, you may take the survey to reflect formal evening attire. If you are looking for work accessories, you may take the survey to reflect accessories that would compliment your business wardrobe. Each time you log onto our website the accessory choices that will appear will be from the most recent completed survey.

What if I don’t want a new accessory every month?

Not everyone wants a new accessory each month. If you'd like to skip a month, all you need to do is log in to your account by the 5th day of the month and click the "Skip This Month" button and you will not be charged for that month. The "Skip This Month" button is only available from the 1st through the 5th day of each month. Skipping a month has no negative consequences and you will, of course, be welcome to return to your gallery and purchase an item for the next month. If you haven't purchased accessories from Send the Trend before, your credit card will not be charged and you do not need to request to skip a month.

Can I return an accessory if I'm not happy with it?

We want everyone to be 100% happy with their purchases, so if you don’t like what you buy for any reason, you can return it for a Send the Trend account credit at no extra charge.

Any style advice for our readers?
Find a signature look you love & feel great in - and then build off
of that look. You can experiment and take risks knowing that you've
always got a "safe" place to return to. For me, that signature is a
tomboy-ish silhouette in shades of navy, black, blush & grey accented
with 1-2 key, bold accessories.

Painterly Design

Artist Melissa Norton has been dabbling in artwork since childhood, and over the years has fine tuned her talent into a wonderful business. Melissa was schooled in Ohio and New England, then while working out of her studio in Cincinnati, word of mouth spread about her amazing work. After working on a clients small project, Melissa had an idea to establish her artistry as a business. Painterly Design was initiated in 1992, to offer services to those looking for a truly spectacular Memento for their friends and family. Friday, September 10th marked Vogue's 2nd annual Fashion's Night Out. While Clos-ette made the rounds that night to all kinds of events, including D. Porthault, Akris's super exclusive photography exhibition was definitely the place to be. While Fashion Week 2010 has come and gone, Claiborne Swanson Frank has stayed on our radar.

When Claiborne, a 29 year old Florida native, unveiled her first body of work at Akris, the party was filled with fashionistas in awe! "Indigo Light: a collection of portraits" was Claiborne's debut as a self-taught photographer whose professional history includes working at Vogue under Anna Wintour.

Her inspirations include famed photographers such as Richard Avedon, Tim Walker, Slim Arrons, Bresson, Irving Penn, etc. She had loved photography throughout her life and finally decided to pursue her dream after marrying her husband in 2009. So she set out to photograph portraits of women, who inspire her on a daily basis.

Claiborne’s next project will explore womanhood as well, but this time she will turn her lens onto the women of her mother’s generation. Ultimately she hopes to remain focused on creating portraits of women throughout their journey of life.

She's had a exhibit in NYC and then it traveled to Boston and will be making it's way to San Francisco. She's now focused on a photography book on American Women. Financial analyst, Angelique Soave, grew up splitting her time between New York and Detroit, discovering the need for transitional clothes. One of Italy’s most iconic design houses, Moschino, has created the ultimate destination for style savvy globe-trotters. For all fashionistas in need of a reason to visit Milan...your charming, romantic suite at Maison Moschino hotel awaits you!

Moschino has combined two of Clos-ette’s favorite things to shape Maison Moschino: fashion and design. The modern hotel is located in the old neoclassical railway station on Milan's Viale Monte Grappa dating back to 1840. If you haven’t been yet, this four-story building is every stylish traveler’s dream come true - literally. The hotel consists of 65 rooms and 15 suites in addition to a bar, restaurant, gym and spa, with each room’s décor inspired by fairy tales.

Each room and suite is unique, maintaining the common theme of fairy tales, with every room more whimsical than the next.

Expect your room to completely wow you – with side chairs and bedspreads adorned in rose petals that seem to be falling from the light above, beautifully branch-shaped headboards, oversized teacup tables, and delicious pastry inspired pillows.

The imaginative and luxurious theme is carried throughout the hotel. The entrance hall, for example, features a lamp in the shape of one of the label's signature lampshade dresses. At the signature restaurant, “Clandestino Milano” expect eccentric dishes and a dreamlike menu. As Moschino describes it, “the hotel interior reflects Moschino’s distinctive style where the ordinary world is painted with a brush of surrealism.”Moschino is not the only design house branching out into the interior decorating. Diane Von Furstenberg, as Clos-ette told you, is coming out with a home line in addition to redesigning 20 rooms and suites at London’s Claridges hotel. The rooms are set to debut this June and we’re betting on bold colors and vibrant prints!

In addition, Christian Lacroix has graced Paris with his Hotel du Petit Moulin, a former bakery and Hotel Bellchasse. Each hotel is marked by Lacroix’s theatrical style, but maintains an intimate atmosphere.

Hillary Thomas is a New York City-bred interior designer based in L.A. Not only can she help anyone, with any style, remodel their home, but she’s also just come out with “a new line of decorative children’s bedding anchored in tradition and nostalgia, with a classic, vintage vibe.” In addition to her upcoming home lines that reflect her East Coast background.

Her style? She focuses on her clients’ tastes and combines them with her knack for color and decorating. She sees beauty in imperfections, creating an honest, livable and inspiring place to call “home”. She’s also always trying to reuse pieces that can take on different personalities and looks with a little retouching. So where does her inspiration come from? Growing up in New York, attending college in Florida, and now living in California, she’s drawn inspiration from all over. In New York, a city where America’s history began is tons of traditional design mixed with the new, as New York is known for a its diverse population. In California she’s challenged by the independent spirits of the entrepreneurs who live there – which allows for such a freedom of design style.

As a mother, she sought out to create a stylish and durable children’s bedding line.
