      <title>Church Of Misery + Support TBC</title>
      <link>http://www.leedstickets.com/eventinfo/4320/Church-Of-Misery</link>
      <description>Featured in Rolling Stone's Best Metal Albums of 2013:&#xD;
&amp;amp;quot;Little has changed for Japanese metal doomsayers Church of Misery since they put out their 2001 debut, a record that features serial killer John Wayne Gacy on the cover and bore the punny Sabbath title Master of Brutality. Their fifth album, Thy Kingdom Scum, still bulges with bluesy Tony Iommi-inspired riffs, murder-minded allusions, audio samples and even a steroidal cover of Seventies proggers Quartermass' &amp;amp;quot;One Blind Mice.&amp;amp;quot; Other bands have turned on and tuned down to the formula before, but few have made it the sort of acid-trip-gone-bad that Church of Misery have on this record&amp;amp;quot;&#xD;

Ska is a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1950s, and was the precursor to rocksteady and reggae. Ska combined elements of Caribbean mento and Calypso with American Jazz and Rhythm and Blues. It is characterised by a walking bass line accented with rhythms on the upbeat. In the early 1960s, Ska was the dominant music genre of Jamaica and was popular with British Mods. &#xD;
Music historians typically divide the history of Ska into three periods: the original Jamaican scene of the 1960s (First Wave); the English 2 Tone Ska revival of the late 1970s (Second Wave); and the third wave of the Ska movement which started in the 1980s (Third Wave) and rose to popularity in the US in the 1990s.&#xD;
&#xD;
Mods, initially a small group of clothes-focused 1950s working class young men insisted on clothes and shoes tailored to their style, which emerged during the Jazz boom. Early mods watched French and Italian art films and read Italian magazines to look for style ideas. By the summer of 1966, the mod scene was in sharp decline but a Mod revival started in the late 1970s in the United Kingdom. Thousands of Mod revivalists attended scooter rallies in locations such as Scarborough and the Isle of Wight. This revival was partly inspired by the 1979 film Quadrophenia and by Mod-influenced bands such as The Jam, who drew on the energy of New Wave music.&#xD;
The British Mod revival was followed by a revival in North America in the early 1980s, particularly in Southern California, led by bands such as The Untouchables. The mod scene in Los Angeles and Orange County was partly influenced by the 2 Tone Ska revival in England, and was unique in its racial diversity, with black, white, Hispanic and Asian participants. The 1990s Britpop scene featured noticeable Mod influences on bands such as Oasis, Blur, Ocean Colour Scene and The Verve.&#xD;
From the Jam, The Beat, The Selecter &amp;amp;amp; Bad Manners are all UK Ska &amp;amp;amp; Mod bands who have seen decades in the music industry racking up many top 10 hits!&#xD;
&#xD;
So join us and let&amp;amp;rsquo;s make history!&#xD;

      <title>Atomic Bitchwax</title>
      <link>http://www.leedstickets.com/eventinfo/4321/Atomic-Bitchwax</link>
      <description>Chris Kosnik, Finn Ryan, and Bob Pantella first started plotting their musical careers back in the mid 90s influenced by 70s rock and progressive groups ranging from Black Sabbath to Parliament Funkadelic. Simultaneously all three members where already playing for major labels in separate bands: Godspeed (Atlantic), Monster Magnet (A&amp;amp;amp;M) and Core (Atlantic).&#xD;
The Atomic Bitchwax slowly evolved for fifteen years as a players band with the enduring vision to &amp;amp;quot;play what you want&amp;amp;quot;. Their music is a combination of 60s psychedelic rock, and 70s riff rock filtered though the progressive rock influences of today. Since their first release in 1999 'The Atomic Bitchwax' on Tee Pee Records, they have toured every year in North America and Europe covering over 15 countries and continue to expand. In that time the band has released five more records including three full lengths. 'TAB-2, 3 and 4', two EPs 'Spit Blood', and 'Boxriff', which included a DVD live show filmed in Seattle's Sunset Tavern. Their music has also appeared in popular TV shows including 'Jackass', 'Home-wrecker' and 'Fox sports'. Latest work includes the 2011 release of 'The Local Fuzz', boasting one 42 minute track of over 50 riffs back to back. 2012 and 2013 brings the bands road show to Australia, New Zealand, England, Germany, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Holland, Italy, Switzerland, Austria and the United States.&#xD;
Chris and Bob will also be touring with Monster Magnet from late 2013 through summer 2014 in support of their latest record &amp;amp;quot;Last Patrol&amp;amp;quot;.

      <title>Neutral Milk Hotel</title>
      <link>http://www.leedstickets.com/eventinfo/4290/Neutral-Milk-Hotel</link>
      <description>The cult status of enigmatic headliners Neutral Milk Hotel is a testament to the power and longevity of their music. Their seminal 1998 masterpiece &amp;amp;lsquo;In The Aeroplane Over The Sea' is a record held in legendary regard by so many - and with good reason. The emotionally visceral, fuzzy, freakish folk found within defies categorization and famously reclusive frontman and centerpiece Jeff Mangum's lyrics explore history, faith and spirituality with an eloquence that remains unparalleled.&#xD;
Following a long, self-imposed period of inactivity, this year sees the lineup of Mangum, Scott Spillane, Julian Koster and Jeremy Barnes finally reunited.

      <title>Steak</title>
      <link>http://www.leedstickets.com/eventinfo/4322/Steak</link>
      <description>Steak are from London, UK. Gritz lovin, mud slingin', if you want fuzzed up stoner grooves, then you want a piece of Steak...&#xD;
StonerHive:&#xD;
Heavy cruisers on route to some generator party or biker freak out in some run down part of town! The new EP Corned Beef Colossus by the heroic UK foursome Steak thunders down the road like Genghis Khan on beer run. It&amp;amp;rsquo;s the deep rumbling of the bass and the tumbling of the drums that propel these massive grooves forward. This rhythm section is all about keeping the pace moving fast and steady down that main line. Opening up the landscape for the fuzzed guitar and excellent vocals to go wherever the spirit might lead them. Just listen to that psychedelic purr exhumed by the great magnet; and the incredible kicks your having.This is high energy desert truckin and begs to be devoured whole and on a regular basis. It will surely make you lift off and soar through the sky!&#xD;
Ninehertz:&#xD;
Listen to Steak if you find you are becoming jaded with our old friend stoner rock, you'll start to see why it's still as valuable a genre as any. Dismissed by some as a flash in the pan musical style, Steak have proved here it is alive and well'.&#xD;
Heavy Planet:&#xD;
'Distortion hits you square in the face at the beginning of &amp;amp;ldquo;The Butcher&amp;amp;rdquo;, before kicking into a mighty, meaty, full out fuzz assault from Steak, a London stoner band that play the full stoner sound on this track, reminiscent of Dozer, Freedom Hawk, Firestone, Truckfighters, and Cowboys &amp;amp;amp; Aliens . . . not to mention the pearl of inspiration for the high desert sound, Kyuss. Steak brilliantly capture the Stoner sound and play it with exhilaration.&amp;amp;quot;

      <title>Pentagram</title>
      <link>http://www.leedstickets.com/eventinfo/4326/Pentagram</link>
      <description>Pentagram play the garage on the 7th September. After their stirring performance at Desertfest 2013, Desertscene are proud to welcome them back to Blighty.&#xD;
Pentagram is an American heavy metal band from Alexandria, Virginia, most famous as one of the pioneers of heavy metal, and the subgenre of doom metal in particular. The band was prolific in the underground scene of the 1970s, producing many demos and rehearsal tapes, but did not release a full-length album until reforming in the early 1980s with an almost completely new lineup. Throughout the band's history the only constant member has been vocalist Bobby Liebling. The revolving lineup of Pentagram has featured many well respected musicians in the local doom metal scene, with members spending time in other acts such as Raven, The Obsessed, Place of Skulls, Internal Void, Spirit Caravan, among many others.

      <title>NAAM + Gonga</title>
      <link>http://www.leedstickets.com/eventinfo/4332/NAAM</link>
      <description>Naam was formed in early 2009 by guitarist Ryan Lee Lugar and bassist John Bundy. Following the addition Eli Pizutto on drums, they self-released Kingdom, their first EP. Buzz generated from the EP led to them being signed to Tee Pee Records later that year. October 2009 saw the release of Naam, their debut album. &amp;amp;quot;Kingdom&amp;amp;quot;, which runs for 16 minutes, was used as the album's opening track. The LP was followed by a United States tour as a supporting act for bands such as Orange Goblin and Nebula. In November 2010, they supported Priestess in the US.[1] In 2011, they toured Europe with and released a 7&amp;amp;quot; record consisting of Nirvana covers.&#xD;
In 2012, Naam released another EP, entitled The Ballad of the Starchild Vol. 1. The EP contained five new songs and is the first installment in an ongoing project. The song &amp;amp;quot;Star Child&amp;amp;quot; was accompanied by a music video. To support this release, Naam had their first headlining tour in Europe. At this time, keyboardist Johnny &amp;amp;quot;Fingers&amp;amp;quot; Weingarten was added as a permanent, regular member of Naam. Naam spent much of late 2012 recording their second album, Vow.&#xD;

      <title>Mars Red Sky + Trippy Wicked</title>
      <link>http://www.leedstickets.com/eventinfo/4333/Mars-Red-SKy</link>
      <description>Considered as one of the greats of the European stoner rock scene, MARS RED SKY have gained international recognition thanks to a unique sound imprint based on thick infectious grooves and melodic aerial guitar riffs. This is truly a one of a kind experience, wrapped up by Julien Pras&amp;amp;rsquo; ethereal vocals, Matgaz&amp;amp;rsquo; powerful rhythms and Jimmy Kinast&amp;amp;rsquo;s pachydermic bass lines. Somewhere between doom metal and 70&amp;amp;rsquo;s psyche pop, the Mars Red Sound intrigues to begin with, after which it irremediably attracts the masses to celebrate this cosmic ritual of solar burning fuzz and reverberated atmospheres.&#xD;
Driven by the huge success of their eponymous debut record, which was recorded in Spain&amp;amp;rsquo;s mystic Bardenas desert and released in 2011, the Bordelais were quickly invited to play on the largest European stages with Kyuss Lives!, Dinosaur Jr, Sleep, and renowned festivals such as Eurock&amp;amp;eacute;ennes de Belfort (Fr), Roadburn (NL), London and Berlin Desertfests, Sziget Festival (Hun), SXSW (USA), leading them to play in more than 20 countries. With their incredibly heavy and hypnotic performances, MARS RED SKY have been considered as one of the most thrilling live acts among the international stoner rock scene. In 2012, they paired up with French doom metal monsters Year Of No Light to release a 3-track split record, which sells out in a blink of an eye.&#xD;

      <title>Vance Joy</title>
      <link>http://www.leedstickets.com/eventinfo/4302/Vance-Joy</link>
      <description>Vance Joy has an original voice which at first he kept to himself. Feeding on a diet of The Pogues, Paul Kelly, and whatever else was playing, he cut his teeth performing at open mike nights in Melbourne. It is folk music with pop influences. <title>Tycho</title>
      <link>http://www.leedstickets.com/eventinfo/4329/Tycho</link>
      <description>For nearly a decade, Tycho has been known as the musical alias of Scott Hansen, but with the release of Awake &amp;amp;ndash; his second LP for Ghostly International &amp;amp;ndash; the solo project has evolved into a three-piece band. Reaching an entire new realm of sonic possibilities this time out, Awake is situated in the present, reaching Hansen&amp;amp;rsquo;s vision of Tycho like never before. &amp;amp;ldquo;This is, in many ways, the first true Tycho record.&amp;amp;rdquo;&#xD;
Following 2011&amp;amp;rsquo;s Dive LP, the San Francisco, California based designer toured extensively, accompanied by a full band on stage, his sound coalesced into a percussive, organic whole. Zac Brown (guitars, bass) continued to join Scott on the road, but it was the particular addition of Rory O&amp;amp;rsquo;Connor&amp;amp;rsquo;s live drumming that ultimately sent Hansen back to the studio with a more precise vision for what the future of what Tycho could be. &amp;amp;ldquo;After the tour, I decided that I wanted to capture the more energetic, driven sound of the live show on the next album,&amp;amp;rdquo; Hansen recalls. Bringing musicians into Tycho&amp;amp;rsquo;s creative process was a step towards expanding his own songwriting and advancing the project beyond its current incarnation.&#xD;
In a cabin near Lake Tahoe last winter, Hansen and Brown began fleshing out the structure of the new record, but it wasn&amp;amp;rsquo;t until they set up shop in the hills of Santa Cruz with O&amp;amp;rsquo;Connor that it all fell into place. &amp;amp;ldquo;It crystallized the vision of how the drums would come to the forefront on this record,&amp;amp;rdquo; says Hansen. The sound was much more stripped-down and concise with live instruments coming to the forefront. Perhaps it was leading up to this all along, songs like &amp;amp;ldquo;Montana&amp;amp;rdquo; and &amp;amp;ldquo;Awake&amp;amp;rdquo; perfectly exemplify Tycho&amp;amp;rsquo;s new, amped up, sound &amp;amp;ndash; unique to the group effort poured into the songs on the new record &amp;amp;ndash; while &amp;amp;ldquo;See&amp;amp;rdquo; and &amp;amp;ldquo;Dye&amp;amp;rdquo; echo ideas from previous works but with a clear with a view to the future. Working with Count Eldridge, who also engineered Dive, the team could fixate on the pulses that Tycho might have previously layered under synthesizers and exhume them with distinct bass and guitar patterns. Together they bridge an ethereal middle ground between old memories and new experiences, &amp;amp;ldquo;While I grew up in California, I spent a lot of time as a kid in places like Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico and Montana,&amp;amp;rdquo; says Hansen, &amp;amp;rdquo;I got back in touch with those areas over the past few years and they inspired me a great deal.&amp;amp;rdquo; Hansen went on to build those images into the foundation behind the artwork for Awake, &amp;amp;ldquo;I created the cover art to be a symbol, or a flag, to represent this fictional region comprised of idealized elements of all these western states.&amp;amp;rdquo;&#xD;
Also known for his design work as ISO50, Hansen&amp;amp;rsquo;s visual and sonic efforts have dovetailed throughout the course of his career. &amp;amp;ldquo;This is the first time in my life I&amp;amp;rsquo;ve dropped everything to focus on one artistic pursuit,&amp;amp;rdquo; notes Hansen. Previous Tycho releases came to fruition from Hansen&amp;amp;rsquo;s delicate solo approach to constructing a song, tweaking each peak and valley, but &amp;amp;lsquo;Awake&amp;amp;rsquo; is three like-minded people coming together where music becomes the sole purpose and true expression becomes the result.

      <title>We Are The Ocean</title>
      <link>http://www.leedstickets.com/eventinfo/4301/We-Are-The-Ocean</link>
      <description>After forming in 2007, We Are the Ocean quickly made a name for themselves after signing to UK indie powerhouse Hassle (Alexisonfire, Trash Talk, Cancer Bats) to release their debut self-titled EP, winning a nomination for Best British Newcomer the following year. Its follow-up &amp;amp;lsquo;Look Alive&amp;amp;rsquo; was released the following year, and debut full-length &amp;amp;lsquo;Cutting Our Teeth&amp;amp;rsquo; came hot on its heels in early 2010. It was the emergence of second album &amp;amp;lsquo;Go Now And Live&amp;amp;rsquo; in 2011, though, that cemented the band as a powerhouse-in-waiting of UK rock; packed with colossal choruses, the album enjoyed significant commercial success thanks to strong support from national press and Radio 1. It propelled We Are the Ocean onto Reading and Leeds&amp;amp;rsquo; mainstage and allowed them to go global, winning prestigious slots on Australia&amp;amp;rsquo;s Soundwave tour and signing a US deal with the revered SideOneDummy (The Gaslight Anthem, Title Fight).&#xD;
&amp;amp;lsquo;Maybe Today, Maybe Tomorrow&amp;amp;rsquo; marks a fundamental shift in the way people see We Are The Ocean, as they go onto bigger and better things than they could have imagined. The 10 tracks that comprise MTMT constitute an entirely new beginning for the Essex four-piece, while both paying lip-service to their roots and signaling a bright new future. This is the sound of a young band taking some gigantic risks and hearing them pay off, in some style. This is the moment they stand up and start fulfilling their potential.&#xD;
&amp;amp;ldquo;This,&amp;amp;rdquo; states guitarist / vocalist Alfie Scully, &amp;amp;ldquo;is how we&amp;amp;rsquo;ve wanted to sound for years.&amp;amp;rdquo;

      <link>http://www.leedstickets.com/eventinfo/4324/Brant-Bjork</link>
      <description>Rising like a mushroom cloud out of the Palm Desert scene in the early &amp;amp;rsquo;90s as a member of the seminal stoner rock outfit KYUSS, Brant Bjork went on to distinguish himself as a talented singer and songwriter in his own right, in addition to playing with Orange County rock stalwarts FU MANCHU.&#xD;
For his Low Desert Punks tour, BRANT, has put together a considerable roster of players - his most &amp;amp;ldquo;ideal&amp;amp;rdquo; unit yet featuring Dave Dinsmore on bass (Che, Bl&amp;amp;rsquo;ast), Bubba Dupree on guitar (Void, Hater) and Tony Tornay on drums (Fatso Jetson, Chuck Dukowski) This is a new band with old school, heavy, classic punk and rock roots but also a band with a fresh attitude of ?re and urgency.

      <title>Damnation Festival 2014 - 10th Anniversary!</title>
      <link>http://www.leedstickets.com/eventinfo/4164/Damnation</link>
      <description>Death metal titans BOLT THROWER will play their only UK show of 2014 headlining Damnation Festival.&#xD;
The Coventry quintet, who haven't performed on home soil since selling out London's Forum in 2012, will play the Leeds event on Saturday, November 1, in their only UK appearance for the &amp;amp;quot;foreseeable future&amp;amp;quot;.&#xD;
The one-off performance - which will also mark the first time Bolt Thrower have ever agreed to appear at a British festival - will be a highlight of Damnation Festival's 10th anniversary celebrations, with at least 26 more stunning additions to be added across four stages.&#xD;
Vocalist Karl Willets said: &amp;amp;quot;Well, we always knew if we were ever ever going to play a festival in the UK, it would be Damnation Festival; as we've only heard good things about it from mates who've been, and other bands who've played it.&#xD;
&amp;amp;quot;So we&amp;amp;rsquo;re chuffed our only UK show of 2014 - and the foreseeable future - will be Damnation&amp;amp;rsquo;s 10th Anniversary Bash&amp;amp;hellip; Grind on.&amp;amp;rdquo;&#xD;
Damnation Festival director Gavin McInally added: &amp;amp;quot;In 2005 we asked Bolt Thrower to play Damnation Festival and there hasn't been a year that's passed since that we haven't sent a hopeful enquiry their way so it's with massive relief and delight that we're able to announce our absolute first-choice headliner for Damnation Festival.&#xD;
&amp;amp;quot;The band are by far and away the most requested group for Damnation Festival so there could not be a more fitting start to out 10th anniversary preparations than to have Bolt Thrower topping the bill.&amp;amp;quot;
