In college, he began to harness the power of the digital music age and acquired a deeper appreciation for all music. Upon graduation, DJ Royale had already spun overseas and played major clubs, working his way from dingy corner bars to the hottest clubs in the country. His ambition to be the best has lead him to encompass all aspects of music, from DJing to producing. Keep an eye out for this guy, he’s bound to blow up.

As a fellow “remixer” in the DJ community, I personally enjoy sharing music with other remixers. The act of changing a song whether completely or additively, in order to create a different sound earns respect alone. Now days, the idea is to create a remix that will make a party feel amazed by a new sound; throw hands in the air; feel free from the ordinary style of play most would hear on an Ipod. Sadly enough, there has been a plague of mediocre remixes this summer. If your remixes don’t work at the parties you spin at, they probably won’t work for anyone else and shouldn’t be distributed.

A remix is an alternative version of an original song. Many DJs have taken this path of production and can be coined as the term “remixer.” More or less, a remixer is a producer with a DJ’s mentality to hype up a party. The process of doing so takes much creativity, technical skill, and maybe even some musical inclination.  A great remix will speak for itself regardless of who made it. The remix may consist of multiple songs cut up and craftily placed, original drum production; the possibilities are endless for creativity does not have limits.

Unfortunately while technology has made the process of remixing easier, the creativity level has been hindered with some DJs. It is safe to say that many of the same hype acapella phrases and loops (especially voices of Lil Jon, Fat Man Scoop) have been recycled unnecessarily. Imagine going to a party with the same exact hype as an intro to every song the DJ mixes; that is almost as bad as hearing the same song twice, possibly worse. Keep in mind that the remixes that do last, are the ones that sound original.

Some edits weren’t made to last forever, which are respected at the time they are distributed. There is nothing wrong with making a nice blend between two songs, which will only last as long as those two songs are current. The problem with making remixes is the numerous amounts already made for the same song. Some of this summer’s hottest songs were: Katy Perry – California Girls; Usher – OMG; Usher – DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love Again; La Roux – Bullet Proof. These songs are awesome as originals I might add, but I love the urge DJs had to remix them (I remixed some myself). The fact of the matter is, timing and creativity. When did you think about making this blend? Do you know any other DJs who have already made blends for this song? If so, how can you make this song better? Some DJs may want to ask themselves a few of these questions before the production begins.

The reason I brought up this topic is because of a significant experience I had going through my music library. Surely nobody wants to look at their library and have nearly thirty versions of the same song, with the exception of two or three great ones.  Before sharing your music please be considerate; test your music when you mix, stay creative and original, and be on your toes ready to work harder than the next remixer. Shouts to the many DJs who are grinding it out and being as creative as productive, you deserve the respectful credit.

Lil’ Jon gave a present to the remix and mashup world when he released his entire new album “Crunk Rock” in acapella format. DJ Kontrol immediately took advantage of this crazy opportunity and, only 8 days later, has remixed all 16 tracks on the album into awesome masterpieces.

DJ RNS began his legacy at the age of 15 while attending High School in Richmond, VA. 15 years later, he has exceeded everyone’s expectations and has parlayed his deejaying hobby into an international brand.

In 2004, DJ RNS earned a spot on his first concert tour as audiences from abroad were introduced to him as the opening act for Usher’s Truth Tour featuring Kanye West. As a fixture in the club scene, DJ RNS has captivated crowds at some of the hottest venues on the East Coast including LOVE, FUR Nightclub, Mansion (Miami, FL), Club Aurora and the Hyperlink Café (featured on BET’s College Hill Season 3).

In 2005, he created promotional compilation mixed CDs containing radio friendly versions of today’s most current Hip-Hop and R&B. He signed distribution of these mixed CDs to two national urban retail chains, which led him to sign a 2 year contract with XM Satellite Radio to air a weekly radio on XM Radio, Direct TV and AOL Radio.

Temabes was born in Russia, Moscow and always loved synthesizers, innovative music technologies, DJing, and house/club electronic music. His first experience as a DJ was in March 2010 in the biggest club of Moscow, performing for over 3000 people.

In July 2010, taking the name Temabes, he began producing his own tracks and remixes. His style mixes house rhythms, harsh break electronic sounds, and positive energy into an awesome blend of dance music.

DJ Kue is back with another perfectly timed club hit! This remix adds an awesome layer of high energy electro while keeping the basic structure of the track in tact. Everyone will recognize this song as Usher’s latest hit and sing to it, while at the same time having their minds blown by the amazing dirty electro juice penetrating their brains. He has recently started creating original work by remixing tracks and producing mixes in Ableton. For now, DJ DiBella is posting his material on DJCity.com for DJs to find and use in their sets, and hopes to eventually produce tracks for other popular record pools.

Sorry to kill the buzz on your spontaneity. Perhaps clubbing just isn’t the same as it used to be. What with the easy accessibility of drugs and alcohol, it’s often easy to become uninhibited and unaware of any bad vibes going on around the event.

Remember there is safety in numbers. Always go out with a group, especially if you’re female. Check in with your friends every once in a while and make a plan to meet up somewhere, such as the bathroom entrance, at the bar or near the back exit at a certain time before you all head home. Try to stay in pairs and watch out for each other. Leave as a group or at least pairs, never walk home alone. If you take a cab, make sure it’s with a recognizable company you’ve used before.

Keep an eye on your drinks at all times. Even if you run to the ladies room, have a friend hold on to your beverage for you. Club drugs such as GHB are easy to drop into drinks and are colorless, odorless and tasteless so you won’t even realize you’ve been slipped something until it hits you. Drink out of bottles if possible, or hold your drink in front of you. If you start to feel abnormal and experience any symptoms of being drugged, such as loss of consciousness, dizziness, vomiting or unusual confusion check in with a friend as soon as possible and have someone either get you to a hospital or home right away.

Drink water too! While it can sometimes cost as much as beer, water is much more important especially if you’ve been drinking for a while or if you’re experimenting with the darker side of the club atmosphere. Dehydration caused by ecstasy use is not uncommon, and water also helps your body control its heating a cooling systems.

Pack light. Leave any unneeded cards, money, keys and accessories at home. Pack your cell phone, ID, debit card and cash—but not a large amount of cash. Purses are not only annoying to pack around the dance floor but they’re easier to steal. Don’t pack a lot of cash unless you’re looking for unwanted attention and leave behind credit cards if you can. You’ll want a cell phone or phone card at the least in case you need to find an alternate way home or call a taxi. Always bring ID!

Know how you’re getting home. Don’t leave it up to maybe’s, especially if your location is out of the way. Have a taxi number in your cell phone, or assure you’re getting a sober ride home. Never accept rides from strangers—no matter how elementary that sounds, and never give rides to strangers. People wear a lot of faces at night, and you could only be reading one of them.

Do not buy or accept drugs at a club. It’s pretty common knowledge that drugs sold at clubs are dirty, and you may be getting a sugar pill, or even something that was never meant to enter the human body. Most club dealers are simply looking for an easy buck and while they walk away with your money you can be walking away with a terrible hangover, at the least.

Party smart and listen your intuition. If a situation feels wrong or you’re not feeling the vibe, check out and try something else or go home. There will always be another night and wasting your precious dollars at a place where all you can think about is your new down comforter is useless.

All said, do not be afraid to go clubbing! Some organizations will have you believe that clubbing is unsafe, but it only is if you’re unprepared. By following the simple steps outlined above and employing a little common sense you’ll have a blast, meet tons of great people looking to have fun and, of course, have the opportunity to listen to great dance music.

While underground clubs and dirty warehouses can sometimes offer more interesting and intimate DJ-audience experiences, it’s clubs like the ones mentioned below that have created a name for themselves as true party destinations in the hottest cities.

Pacha New York

First off we’ll mention Pacha New York. Typically anything attached to the Pacha name is bound to throw a good party, but New York’s 30,000-plus square foot labyrinth is truly a standout American nightclub. With a capacity of 2,000 there is nearly a party every night here. Whether you’re up-front dancing to the likes of Benny Benassi or Victor Calderone, or chilling in the mirror lounge, Pacha sets the night off right.

Mansion

Miami, Florida is a clubbing destination in itself, featuring a number of great clubs with live DJ music. Mansion is the epitome of everything Miami nightlife is about. Sexy, stylish and fun, this nightclub—partially owned by rocker Mick Jones’ son Roman Jones—is a VIP haven, featuring the best of electro house and techno. Acts like Deadmau5, Dubfire and the LA Riots grace the tables at Mansion, elevating the Miami heat.

Beta

Beta in Denver, Colorado sets the pace for futuristic design in both sound and structure. This eco-conscious nightclub was created by Beatport’s Brad Roulier and features a 100% green lounge and Feng Shui design that adds to the whole amazing vibe of the place. Voted #2 in America on DJMag’s 2009 Top 100 list you’ll see everyone from Ferry Corsten to Andy Moor to David Guetta top the booth here.

Avalon

Before we get back to Miami, we have to mention Avalon in Hollywood, California. This beautiful club has all the style with half the pretension you’ll find in most higher-end nightclubs. Winged angels float around the club while the likes of John Digweed, Freestylers and Sasha funk up partiers with hot beats on a crisp-clear sound system. Known previously as The Palace, the space used to host rock greats like The Rolling Stones, The Beatles and Nirvana, but has been revamped in an avant-garde style home to all kinds of live events, notably banging electronic dance parties.

Space Miami

Okay, back to Miami just once more. Nothing beats an outdoor party and Space Miami offers a partier’s paradise. With 24-hour bar service, an outdoor party terrace and music events ranging from hip hop to techno ravers and clubbers alike come together to celebrate the beautiful bodies, weather and music of Miami. Pretty much anyone who’s anyone in the DJ world has spun the decks at Space Miami, include Sasha, Deep Dish and Carl Cox. Voted DJ Mag’s top US nightclub, this prime party space is a must-visit on your club destination list.

Tao Nightclub

Head to party central Las Vegas’s Tao Nightclub for a serious party. This place gets packed—all 10,000 square feet of it. While the décor nearly borders on kitsch it’s a swanky place for celebrity spotting, great music and fun times. Paul Van Dyk, among many others, pump out great beats while the crowd continues on well into the early hours.

Vanguard

Last on our list, but certainly not the least of the best, is Vanguard in Los Angeles, California. Think big party, and then triple that and you’ll see Vanguard. This 20,000 square foot space gets packed on big club nights. Featuring the best sound and lighting it’s an all out free for all on the dance floor when acts like Afrika Bambaataa and Carl Cox roll into town.

While this barely tips the iceberg of amazing nightclubs throughout America, we hope we’ve given you some inspiration to do a little evening exploring during your next big-city visit. While smaller venues can offer a more comfortable experience, there’s something about a huge dance party that can keep a person going for weeks afterwards, well after sleeping off the hangover first Be safe, get in line and party hard!
