Welcome back to a new semester and a new year! We are looking for new members to join our eboard as Class Representatives. Class reps learn and experience how an NYU club operates and grasp an overall view of the club by coordinating with various parts of the executive board, such as the Events Director and the Marketing Director. Freshmen and Sophomores are encouraged to apply.

Applications are due on this Thursday, Feb 23th. Interviews will take place on Feb 25th and 26th.

Yuan 2012 Executive Producer Application Open!

What is Yuan?

Yuan is Chinese Mei Society's annual large-scale spring cultural production in the spirit of Asian Heritage Month. It is a coming together in celebration of Chinese culture through the combination of raw talent in the musical, visual, and performing arts. It is our voice reaching out into the world community. Each year, 100% of profits from the Yuan show are donated to the China Care Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing medical care and nurturing to orphaned children in China.

In the past, we produced a fashion and cultural show that featured clothing from designers and stores such as Malan Breton (Project Runway), Le Chateau, and AuH20. Last year, we combined a night of fabulous Chinese cultural performances and fashion shows with an element of fine dining and culinary indulgence to take Yuan to never before seen heights.

What is the role of Executive Producer?

The Executive Producer is the mind and soul of the show. The EP will produce the vision and general blueprint of the show to provide a structure upon which the rest of the Yuan team builds. The EP is also the Chief Executive in the production and will manage all other committee heads as well as the respective projects each is responsible for. The EP will oversee the progress and timeline of the production process by calling together weekly leadership meetings, as well as administrate strict adherence in the planning process to vision and theme.

The EP is a highly rewarding and prestigious position on the Yuan production team. In our search for qualified individuals who may fit this role, we emphasize especially on leadership qualities such as responsibility, strong organizational and communication skills, diligence, drive and passion, the ability to multi-task and to prioritize, and finally, be in possession of some vision or theme.

How do I apply?

To apply for the Executive Producer position on the Yuan 12 board, all you have to do is fill out our application. Applications are due on the 21st of October by 11:59 PM.

We hope you had fun at the first CMS general meeting last Friday! Just a reminder, CMS is looking for students to join our executive board as class reps and a treasurer's assistant to help make our organization even better!

Class Representatives

Class reps will learn and experience how an NYU club operates and grasp an overall view of the club by coordinating with the Events Director, Marketing Director, and the rest of the Eboard. This year, we are opening this position to all classes.

Treasurer's Assistant

This individual will learn and develop skills required as a treasurer (such as managing the board's financial responsibilities and budgeting) by assisting this year's CMS treasurer, Jinna Wang.
