We can offer A rated energy efficient windows and doors, helping you cut the cost of your heating bills in the winter months.

With 15% of your homes heat lost through windows, choosing the right double glazing can save you a significant sum per year.

With the rising cost of fuel, not to mention reducing your carbon footprint, the issue of energy efficiency is an important factor to consider when improving your property. All of the P.V.C.u window systems supplied by ancestral have very good thermal insulation properties which can significantly reduce heating bills, By retaining heat for longer within your property, heating times can be cut, reducing your carbon emissions by burning less fuel.

A measure of window performance is the Window Energy Rating (WER) rating which also involves the solar gain of the glass and is measured from A-G, with A being better than B etc. WER ratings A-G are similar to those used on household appliances like fridges, dishwashers and washing machines.

However, energy efficiency is not only a personal choice but also forms an internal part of the Building Regulations and Part L – the Conservation of Fuel and Power concerns itself with reducing CO2 emissions.

Changes in the regulations in October 2010 mean that windows must now have at least a WER rating of “C” and our P.V.C.u windows can easily achieve these minimum values.

Choosing P.V.C.u windows with the correct thermal performance and requirements for your property can be confusing. Talk to us and we will give you advice and explain your options.
