Sunshine makes it easier

Yippee! The sunshine and lovely weather are making my diet and fitness regime so much easier to follow.
After a day in the office it has been wonderful to make the most of the early evening sunshine and go for walks and I have even got my bike out of the shed and taken that on its first outing of the year!

Back on track

It's a few weeks since my last entry and since then I have been on holiday, had several weekends away and quite a few parties so while I have managed to keep the weight I had lost off (through luck rather than anything else!) I have done very little to lose more weight and get in shape.
Panic is now setting in as the light nights mean that summer is just around the corner and the thought of wearing a bikini on the beach is filling me with dread.

A great new concept

As I have been busy training away at the gym one of my colleagues has found a fantastic way to increase her weekly exercise and lose inches from all over her body.
She has joined Gymophobics in Southport and as someone who has always steered clear of gyms in the past, she is loving this new way of toning her body.

Boot Camp on the slopes

I'm now back from my skiing holiday feeling much fitter and much more relaxed.
The training I put in before I went along with the weight loss really helped but I know there is so much more I could have done that would have eased my aching body.

When I started this blog and my diet and fitness regime the first goal I was aiming for was my skiing holiday.
It felt like I had ages to prepare but time has flown by and now I am all packed and ready to leave for the airport.

It now three weeks into the new year and I have lost a further pound and a half, taking my total weight loss up to six and a half pounds, which I am really pleased with, especially as I have been faced with temptation!

However, just like the exercise dvds the choice of different diets is unbelievable.

Still on the fitness wagon.....

Well it's January 6th and I haven't fallen off the health and fitness wagon!
I've managed to go swimming twice at the weekend. Swimming is great exercise for your whole body as you use some many muscles, meaning you are toning up with every length you do.
You can also reward yourself with a bit of relaxation in the sauna or jacuzzi afterwards!

I went to the gym!

I did it, it is only January 2nd and I have already been to the gym.
I find the easiest thing is to go straight from work, that way you are not tempted to flop on the couch or find any number of other things to do.

New Year New Me?

Another year has come to an end and I am still overweight and unfit so I am determined to make 2008 the year that is different. As the clock strikes twelve the new, dedicated and focused me is going to emerge.
In the next twelve months I am going to make some lifestyles changes that will result in a much healthier, slimmer and fitter me and I am going to share all the knowledge I gain along the way with the readers of my blog.
