Alfred Hitchcock Prints

When we were young and watched Tony hart’s art shows (remember Morph arsing around with pencils?) we thought we were going to be the next Van Gogh (without the “issues”). Alas, in reality our efforts at design have always been dismal.

Which is why we leave it up to the professionals, such as graphic artist Ryan Tym, who has recreated the whole collection of Alfred Hitchcock DVD covers with a clean, minimalist style (see below). Even better, some of his work is available to buy as special limited-edition posters, celebrating 90 years since Hitchcock made his first film.

The Worlds Ugliest Dog Dies

There you were going along your regular Thursday, enjoying the countdown to the weekend and all of a sudden BAM!, this happens.

We hate to be the ones to tell you this but Yoda, the winner of 2011’s ugliest dog contest, has sadly passed away. The 15-year-old mix of Chinese crested and Chihuahua died in her sleep late last week.

She had a tough life, living on the streets until she was found by Terry Schumacher. He originally mistook her for a rat (hey, stop laughing back there) but soon welcomed the unconventional pet into his life. And boy, what a life they shared.

After scooping the World’s Ugliest Dog trophy last summer, along with $1,000, they also went on the chat show circuit, appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where she received a glamourous makeover.

Washington McNugget Sells on eBay for £5000

“Not Eaten, New In Box.”

People will sell anything on ebay. From Michael Jackson’s underwear to a cornflake shaped like Illinois, there’s a myriad of odd-ball treasures waiting to be discovered.

Now added to that list is the chicken McNugget, which bears a resemblance to former president George Washington (pictured above and below).

The nugget was found by Rebekah Speight of Dakota City and was sold on ebay for over £5,000 ($8,100), when the auction ended on Monday to an unnamed bidder.

Speight discovered the nugget three years ago, after taking her children to McDonald’s. She was about to throw the final nugget away when she spotted its likeness and stashed it in her freezer (the obvious thing to do).

According to the Sioux City Journal in Iowa, USA, Speight sold it to raise $15,000 and send 50 children to summer church camp in Sioux City.

eBay had temporarily taken down the auction last month because it violated rules regulating expired food. Speight later received an email saying the site was “willing to make exceptions to help your cause.”

On the auction page for the McNugget Speight wrote: “By bidding on this rare President George Washington Chicken McNugget…not only will you have an opportunity to be the new owner of this rare find, but you will be investing in the lives of children.”
