A new kind of system to replace KPK. Will it work?

*Corruption* as we know is the main issue which causes huge dire damages in internal system of government of a country which lead to massive destruction in all of aspects in that country. Corruption itself has rooted in Indonesia since Soekarno became the first president in Indonesia. In Soekarnos presidential term, much way had been tried to fix this huge issue by forming an anti-corruption organization but it didnt last long. Only 1-5 years this anti-corruption organization survived in Indonesia and then it vanished like the dust in the wind.

It didnt happen only in Soekarnos presidential term but it also happened in the next generation until SBYs presidential came. In SBYs presidential term ,a strong organization which have a strong and strict power to overcome corruptions issues and acts has been built and it has survived till this very second albeit many organizations (government/non-government) has been *trying to bash KPK to the ground*

But the point is, Does KPKs system to overcome corruption is effective enough? Will it overcome, let say a half of this issue, within a short term? Do the ratio between the corruptions issues that has been solved in KPK and the escalating number of corruptions issue is good enough? Will KPK last forever?
That is why I would like to introduce a system which maybe for some of u seems new. This system, that I want to introduce to all of you, is a system which has been framed in Chinas parties to overcome corruptions issues in their internal system and surprisingly it works fine. This system is an extremely strict system which using a threatening and physically abused kind of stuffs.

Okay, so here goes the explanation

*Shuanggui* (pronounced shwang-gwei) is a very unique anti-corruption system which is controlled by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China which is an organization run under the National Congress of the Communist Party of China charged with rooting out corruption and malfeasance among party cadres. Shuanggui itself means dual designation which refers to a designated time and designated place for further inquiry. This system is created to discipline all the cadres in parties in China (without any exception).Shuanggui itself does not relate directly with a legal Chinese law enforcement, so its purely a party regulation.

Shuanggui system is A very strict system which is feared by all the cadres and once there is an infamous quote about this system which said, *Fear not the heavens or the earth, but fear the summons of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspections Anti-Corruption Office. *Cadres who is accused of doing any kind acts that is related with corruption will have a private meeting with shuangguis officers in a designated time and designated place which is not known by public. This designated place is often a desolate remote area which is separated far away from towns, cities or any place that is habited by people of china. Once you have arrived in that place, Shuangguis officers will start immediately to inquire the corrupt cadres to find out the real truth and surprisingly the time required for that corrupt cadres to start confessing about their acts its approximately only three days. The reason why so many cadres confess only with the count of days is because this system has a very abusive way to handle the corrupt cadres.

Sleep deprived, mentally and physically abused, human right violations, and many more all the suspected cadres must derived from shuangguis system. Some said that* days will seem like years* .And its not a joke. Many of shuangguis victims has been suspected committing suicide.

Even though it is only a part of party regulation, but some of the alleged cadres mostly addressed to china's law enforcement to be sentence to death or forever locked in the cell. Many of them choose the short way, like I said before, suicide.

And yeah,I got a list from internet about the victims of this system

So EFers,Do you agree with the motion which asserted that Shuanggui system is to be the one to replace the previous anti-corruption system in Indonesia in a hope to press the escalating number of corruptions acts in the short term? Will it work as it works in China? Will it cause a good or bad impact?

Agree?disagree? lets throw it all up in this thread. thanks :iloveindonesias:iloveindonesias

As part of a curriculum overhaul that will come into effect next year, English will no longer be a subject taught in elementary schools, says Deputy Education and Culture Minister Musliar Kaslim.

He said that the omission aimed to give ample time for students to master the Indonesian language first before diving into foreign languages.

Elementary schools wont have English lessons because [students] havent even learned to understand the Indonesian language yet, Musliar said on Wednesday. Now, even some kindergarten students take English courses. I pity the kids.

He stressed that all schools had to implement the change in their curriculum. The ministry, however, is still mulling whether private schools will be allowed to teach English to their students as a secondary subject or not, according to him.

But for public schools, its definitely forbidden, Musliar said as quoted by kompas.com on Thursday.

As for international schools typically using English as their main language of instruction, the ministry had not decided what to do, he added.

Besides omitting English as a subject, the ministry also plans to trim the existing primary school subjects into six, namely religion, Indonesian language, civics education, arts and skills, physical education and general knowledge, according to Musliar.

The planned trimmed subjects include math, science, social studies, local content and self -development.

Musliar said that science and social studies would not be removed completely from the new curriculum, but rather would be incorporated into other subjects, such as Indonesian language.

The new curriculum will focus on character development for elementary school students, skill development for junior high school and knowledge building for senior high school. (han/swd)

[left][right]Guys u must be know about that song, yeah this song is the most cover versions of any song ever written. The song remains popular with more than 3,000 recorded cover versions, waow i think is wonderful. and how about the story about that song?did u know guys?oke i'll tell u....
It's taken from the book "The Beatles, the stories behind the song 1962-1966". The book created by steve turner. Yesterday personally created by Paul McCartney, he got the idea to make a song by dreaming. When Paul woke up in d morning, with tune for "Yesterday" in his head. And he was tried that tune, there was a piano by the bed and he went to it n started playing of that tune. He said "A complete thing, i couldnt believe it". I dont understand actually, but the point is hes only playing the tune without lyric. But Paul worried that the tune it self might as plagiarized, thats why he went to round people in the music business n asked them wether they had ever heard it before. He said to them "Eventually it became like handing something in to the police, but i thought that if no one claimed it after a few weeks the i would have it" well well well, here it isss, take ur seat belt, we fly to the high place brrrrrrr!!!!!!
He then came up with the provisional title "SCRAMBLED EGG" and began singing it,
how could the title of the song change into yesterday?here it is, but i still didnt get about it,
In 1965 Paul took a brief holiday in Portugal at the villa of shadows guitarist Bruce Welch (i dont know exact about him) then he had completed the lyric. He then choose n hit on the idea of using a one-word title 'yesterday'. Bruce Welch said on that book " i was packing to leave n Paul asked me if i had a guitar". "He'd apparently been working on the lyrics as he drove to Albufeira (airpot at Lisbon), he borrowed my guitar bn started playing the song, we all now know as "YESTERDAY".
Two days after returning from Portugal, Paul recorded it at Abbey Road. The song started pop fans at that time cos it featured a string quartet with Paul as the only Beatles on the session. In America, it became a single n reached the Number 1 spot.
It rapidly became a pop standard, covered by everyone from Frank Sinatra to Elvis Presley. Nowadays, some 30 years on, it is still one of the most played tracks on America radio.

I think learning has to be fun. Being a long time Warkop DKI fan, I can't help to wonder what their movies English translation would be.

Not sure what some of them can be translated to, but some of the translations are hilarious nonetheless.

Maybe some of them need corrections?

So here's the list:

Mana Tahaaan - Can't stand it/Can't Hold it

Gengsi Dong - ??

Pintar Pintar Bodoh - Smart/Intelligent but Stupid

Geer - ??

Manusia 6 Juta Dollar - Six Million Dollar Man

IQ Jongkok - Low IQ

Setan Kredit - The Credit Devil ??

Dongkrak Antik - The Antique Jack

Chips - Chips

Pokoknya Beres - You just need to know it's done / Don't worry / It's done! ???

Itu Bisa Diatur - That can be arrange

Tahu Diri Dong - Know Yourself

Gantian Dong - Let me have my turn

Atas Boleh Bawah Boleh - Up can, down also can ???

Sama Juga Bohong - It's the same thing ??

Depan Bisa Belakang Bisa - Front can, back also can ???

Makin Lama Makin Asyik - The Longer, The Awesome it is

Saya Suka Kamu Punya - I Like What You Have

Jodoh Boleh Diatur - Mate can be arrange

Malu-malu Mau - Shy but Want

Godain Kita Dong - Flirt with us

Sabar Dulu Dong...! - Be patient

Mana Bisa Tahan - Can't stand it/Can't Hold it

Sudah Pasti Tahan - Of course I can hold/stand it

Bisa Naik Bisa Turun - Can go up, can go down

Masuk Kena Keluar Kena - Go in get hit, go outside also get hit

Salah Masuk - Wrong Entrance/No Entry

Bebas Aturan Main - No Rules Bared

"How strange is the lot of us mortals! Each of us is here for a brief sojourn; for what purpose he knows not, though he sometimes thinks he senses it. But without deeper reflection one knows from daily life that one exists for other people -- first of all for those upon whose smiles and well-being our own happiness is wholly dependent, and then for the many, unknown to us, to whose destinies we are bound by the ties of sympathy. A hundred times every day I remind myself that my inner and outer life are based on the labors of other men, living and dead, and that I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received and am still receiving...
"I have never looked upon ease and happiness as ends in themselves -- this critical basis I call the ideal of a pigsty. The ideals that have lighted my way, and time after time have given me new courage to face life cheerfully, have been Kindness, Beauty, and Truth. Without the sense of kinship with men of like mind, without the occupation with the objective world, the eternally unattainable in the field of art and scientific endeavors, life would have seemed empty to me. The trite objects of human efforts -- possessions, outward success, luxury -- have always seemed to me contemptible.
"My passionate sense of social justice and social responsibility has always contrasted oddly with my pronounced lack of need for direct contact with other human beings and human communities. I am truly a 'lone traveler' and have never belonged to my country, my home, my friends, or even my immediate family, with my whole heart; in the face of all these ties, I have never lost a sense of distance and a need for solitude..."
"My political ideal is democracy. Let every man be respected as an individual and no man idolized. It is an irony of fate that I myself have been the recipient of excessive admiration and reverence from my fellow-beings, through no fault, and no merit, of my own. The cause of this may well be the desire, unattainable for many, to understand the few ideas to which I have with my feeble powers attained through ceaseless struggle. I am quite aware that for any organization to reach its goals, one man must do the thinking and directing and generally bear the responsibility. But the led must not be coerced, they must be able to choose their leader. In my opinion, an autocratic system of coercion soon degenerates; force attracts men of low morality... The really valuable thing in the pageant of human life seems to me not the political state, but the creative, sentient individual, the personality; it alone creates the noble and the sublime, while the herd as such remains dull in thought and dull in feeling.
"This topic brings me to that worst outcrop of herd life, the military system, which I abhor... This plague-spot of civilization ought to be abolished with all possible speed. Heroism on command, senseless violence, and all the loathsome nonsense that goes by the name of patriotism -- how passionately I hate them!
"The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion that stands at the cradle of true art and true science. Whoever does not know it and can no longer wonder, no longer marvel, is as good as dead, and his eyes are dimmed. It was the experience of mystery -- even if mixed with fear -- that engendered religion. A knowledge of the existence of something we cannot penetrate, our perceptions of the profoundest reason and the most radiant beauty, which only in their most primitive forms are accessible to our minds: it is this knowledge and this emotion that constitute true religiosity. In this sense, and only this sense, I am a deeply religious man... I am satisfied with the mystery of life's eternity and with a knowledge, a sense, of the marvelous structure of existence -- as well as the humble attempt to understand even a tiny portion of the Reason that manifests itself in nature."
