Pete Tong has just announced the details for the biggest weekend in Ibiza in a lot of peoples eyes and the main thing that stood out to me is Cream@Prililege.

Radio 1 have had parties with cream on and of for a long time now, they have also had parties in Privilege but this year they seem to have gone for something a little extra, Cream will be hosting there Radio 1 special at Privilage. Highlights of the night as usual will be broadcast on radio 1.

The Secret Is Out For Azuli’s Secret Beach Parties

It started out as an alternative to the usual Ibiza offering a season of turmoil that saw an end to all day parties, outdoor event and even clubs closing all together. Now beach azuli has become one of the most talked about events on the island with a series of secret beach parties each season taking place in amazing locations across the white island. The second of which in 2009 takes place on Tuesday 14th July.

During the season of 2008 the secret beach parties greeted DJs such as Andy Cato from Groove Armada, Crazy P, Pete Tong and Alex Neri among others. Beach Azuli became the talk of the island with a range of jaw dropping coastal locations all kept under wraps until the night before. The word certainly seems to be out as Mixmag recently name the Azuli beach parties as the second best in the world, high praise indeed.

So to 2009 and as the island gears up for another monster season, those in the know will once again be searching for the word on the latest Azuli beach party. The second party will take place on Tuesday 14th July as always at a secret location. The special guests are also top secret but you can be guaranteed the calibre will be high with azuli’s constant eye for quality.

The only way to get to this party is to visit www.azuli.com/secretibiza where tickets can be purchased. However no information on the location will be released until the morning of the party, when you will receive a text message with all the details. Make the effort to find it and you will be rewarded.

Release Yourself Opening

Roger Sanchez returns to Ibiza tomorrow for another another season with his Release Yourself night. This year he will be playing on the terrace in Amnesia on Tuesdays with Armada taking control o the main room. This year signals change for Roger Sanchez who up until now has been having his parties in Pacha. The new terrace at Amnesia however has become very popular and with that popularity comes bigger names! Moving his night away from Pacha is a big step as for many part of going to Release Yourself is also about having a night in Pacha. Saying that however i don’t think he will have any problems packing out his new home!!

The release yourself camp have been busy recently promoting the new night. If you want a little teaser or a sneaky peak of what to expect tomorrow night then here is a nice video to get you going

Roger has also given a great interview to Ibiza Voice. In the interview he talks about his facial hair, his move from Pacha to Amnesia as well as his record label.

Fierce Angel @ El Divino 2009

The only news i have managed to bring you so far this season about El Divino is about nights leaving. Hed Kandi have moved over to space and Miss Moneypennys has took up a weekly slot in BoHo.

Now there is a new night on its way over; Having their opening party on Friday June 26^th is Fierce Angel. The guy behind Fierce Angel is Mark Doyle who you may recognise from being part of Hed Kandi a few years back.

Well now Hed Kandi has moved away and Mark has returned to his favourite club on the Island with his night Fierce Angel. The night will run on Fridays with Dj’s which include Doyle, Eric Kupper, Seamus Haji, K-Klass and Whelan & DiScala including live PA’s

The Fierce Angel pre party will take place at Up Lounge in San Antonio with more venues to be confirmed and announced. Fierce Angel will also have a pool party every Saturday afternoon at Es Vive Hotel wich will finish off by a late night VIP party at the Electric Cabaret Bar at Es Vive.

If all this isnt enough for you then on Thursdays and Fridays Fierce Angel will be broadcasting one hour shows on Ibiza Sonica (95.2fm in Ibiza or online at www.ibizasonica.com) and also the nights will be filmed and broadcast on YouTube.

The closing party will be held on Sept 4^th.

in his press release Mark had this to say

it’s an honour to be back at El Divino and we will be giving the island a night of pure unadulterated fun. The music policy is strictly up-lifting vocal and funky house and its not just about one DJ but the entire team fierce experience. I hope everyone will come and have an amazing night out

DC10 Loses Appeal

As i mentioned earlier this week there have been lots of rumour about DC10 opening this Monday June 1st. I have always been sceptical about the club reopening because no matter how much people wanted it to the club knowingly broke the rules. Now DC10 have been told in court that the club will remain closed fo the duration of the ban. The Tribunal Superior de Justicia de Balears re affirmed that the reason the club was closed was because they were operating a nightclub with a café-concierto licence which only aloud a capacity of 65 people.

I do feel very sorry for the owners of DC10 as the club has been operating for 10 years now. The club became a victim of its own success (the amount of people going there every Monday) and the enforcement of licenses up to a few years ago. Up until a few years ago a lot of premises had been aloud to operate outside of their licence without any bother. There was then a change in the people who run Ibiza which resulted in the clamp down on premises breaking the terms of its licence. Over the last few years there have been countless stories of bars being closed down for breaking its licence. Bora Bora was the first big name victim which resulted in DJ Gee upping sticks and leaving for Brazil. Kanya in San antonio got closed for a short while and Ibiza Rocks went through a tough time trying to put live bands on in Bar M

The DC10 saga simply boils down to the fact that if they are let of and aloud to open again then the authorities will have just gone against everything they have been doing for the last 2/3 years and they cant do that. Many people see the situation as DC10 being picked on but if you take a step back DC10 are the place that are continuously and knowingly breaking the law when everybody else has fallen into line, this is probably because they had the most to loose.

Pure Pacha 2009

Pure Pacha as you might be able to tell is in Pacha in Ibiza town! Friday nights have always been a big night for Pacha, Fridays used to belong to Ministry Of Sound before it turned into a clubland cheese-fest. When i started going to Ibiza i remember Ministry being a massive night that everyone wanted to go to. Ministry left Pacha quite a few years ago now and into the big gap it left stepped up Pure Pacha. Ove the last few years it has grown from strength to strength Pete tong has been at the helm until last year when he moved his night to Eden. I dont think this has knocked Pure Pacha to much though, last year had nothing but positive comments and reviews and if anything Pete Tong leaving meant they booked better lineups to fill the void.

This year is no different, there will be stiff competition from Wonderland but Pure Pacha will still pull in the crowds this year.

Hed Kandi @ Space 2009

Everything was set, Eden had attracted another big name from the other side of the island and it was all looking rosy, Now it seems that Hed Kandi have made a last minute switch back to the other side of the island and they will not have their 2009 season in Space.

In a news letter i have read on the Ibiza Spotlight forums it says that Had Kandi needed more space, the addition of a Nu Disco room just meant that the back room at Eden didn’t provide what they wanted to achieve this summer.

The decision to move has been amicable and on good terms. Either way it is still a bit of a blow for Eden however i do think Had Kandi will do really well over at space, The music policy they have attracts a lot of people and to have that gathering in the surroundings of space means that this season will probably be one of the best seasons for Hed Kandi.

BoHo 2009

BoHo is an exciting new night that is starting this year in San Antonio on May 30th. It can be found underneath the Picies Park Hotel on the Egg and it has the potential to be one of the most talked about clubs this year.

I dont think i have seen a club in Ibiza have so much exposure before it has even had its first night but with the people in charge and the nights it has lined up then there is no reason why it shouldn’t.

One of the new owners has in the past been responsible for the parties at Es Vive Hotel which people always spoke about in a good way. The club has even got Miss Moneypennys as one of the weekly nights which has upped sticks from its long standing home of El Divino’s to join Hed Kandi with the move across the island.

Im sure ill be spending a night there when I’m over and id recommend you do the same!!

DC10 - Circo Loco - Ibiza 2009

There are some things that never go away, Things like Oxygen, The Sun and the Moon, People who love to predict the end and the downfall of Ibiza!! Also on that list is the rumour and Gossip surrounding DC10 / Circo Loco in Ibiza!!

For those of you that don’t know; towards the end of last year DC10 got shut down by the authorities in Ibiza and were ordered to close for 12 months, If you want to catch up you can read my posts DC10 Shut Down For 57 Days, Another blow For DC10 and DC10 Closed YET AGAIN.

In now seems that the rumour mill is in full swing! A thread over at Ibiza Spotlight that has been going since the end of last summer has turned its attention to when and ware the club will open in 2009. Many people are reporting that the DC10 will be open June 1st. One blog run by someone on the island has stated that the club will be open with a strict capacity of 500 people. There are plenty of people claiming to have spoken to the owner of DC10 the dj’s of Circo loco, people are claiming to have friends of friends that make the decisions and it all point to the club opening as normal, You have to remember though at this time its all rumour and chinese whispers.

One suggestion that has been made by McRakin from spotlight is that Circo Loco are attempting to Rent Summun in San Ann bay to have their parties in 2009.

My views on it are that it is unlikely that DC10 will open as normal this year. I do however think that Circo Loco will be throwing parties in Ibiza. I would believe McRakin’s news about them trying to get Summum for their parties as i dont believe he would say it if it wasn’t true. In the past DC10/Circo Loco have always had news on their myspace about what has been happening but now it is all quiet.

Ciroc Loco once said that they will not be in Ibiza if DC10 is not open but they have already had a closing party at Privilege.

All we can do now is wait! If DC10 opens on the 1st of June then expect chaos! There will be a lot of people dancing in the car park outside if they only let 500 people in.
