Very little new with the best credit cards for balance transfers, Santander have dropped from 15 months to 13 months, however Nationwide Gold Credit Card has come in at the 5th spot offering the same as what Santander did previously.

Sainsbury's are back with a new offer of a Zero Percentage credit card. This time it's for 12 months and has a slightly lower APR than the Tesco card. If you're a Tesco clubcard member you will get twice as many loyalty points per pound spent on the credit card than you will at Sainsbury's. Tesco 1 point per pound, Sainsbury's 1 point per 2 pounds. On other news about Zero Credit Cards most have increased their free period from 9 months to 10 months which maybe good for those that are into stoozing, I will do a bit about stoozing when I get Saver Scene and the Credit Cards section up and running.

Sainsbury's seemed to have dropped it's 10 months interest free on new purchase credit card, Tesco is still the best and with Tesco clubcard points you can do quite well using this card, I've had a few friends organise entire mini breaks with their clubcard points. This update we also see play.com come into the top 5 with 9 months interest free spending as well as a 6 month balance transfer option with an arrangement fee of only 1.5% one of the best on the market if you're in debt it's a great way to get it lower quicker!

In this update of the best interest free balance transfer credit cards we see Virgin drop out of the top 5 for the first time in a while, there's so many offering 15 months with a 2.9% transfer fee it's a very tight market! If you think you can pay off your debts in 12 months the Santander 0% credit card is a good option as it has many benefits, my personal favourite being: 0% foreign exchange fee - Use it while you're away to pay for everything and pay no additional fees, great to have whilst travelling, but as usual do not withdraw cash from an ATM as this gets charged at 27.9% APR! Interest charged on all cash transactions from date of transaction, is pretty much standard rule for all credit cards.

If you think you can pay off your credit card debt in only 6 months then you may want to look at play.com credit card, they're offering a 6 months interest free period on balance transfers but the arrangement fee is only 1.5%: Play.com Credit Card, not bad for a 0% 6 month period!

in this update we see Halifax drop it's interest rate from 8.9% to 6.9% great to see Halifax... Yet I couldn't find this on most comparison websites, I'm getting sick of websites advertising that they compare the whole market but then only show the cards they get a commision on! All well and good to say "we don't have ads" but to say things like "We help you to compare the best low interest credit card deals across the market" but then have the best interest rate at 15.9%!!! useless! I try hard to get the best deals but of course run a few ads which pay for the hosting of this website and the others.

Once again nothing new on the 0% balance transfers, no company has come in to take on Virgin with their 16 months of interest free, but as I said last update: Compare the five best Zero percent credit cards for balance transfers, February 12th 2010 if you think you can pay off the credit card in 15 months you'd be better off with the Barclaycard, or another idea is to get the Virgin credit card for your balance transfer and for all your new puchases a Zero Percent for new Purchases Credit Cards or a Low Interest Credit Cards, that way you can take control of the transfers and have low rates or no interest for new puchases.

this month we see Barclaycard raise it's Platinum Simplicity Credit Card up from 6.8% to 7.8% and their Goldfish Credit Card has gone from 9.9% to 19.9%!!! Forcing it out of the top 5 by a long way. Not good when bank base rates are 0.5% and news reports of BBC: Anger at credit card rate rises. A real shame!

This month we see Barclaycard come in at second place with yet another credit card offering 15 months interest free at a transfer rate of 2.9% however it has 0% on new purchases for the first 3 months and an APR of 15.9% on purchases after that, if it had 16 months zero percent on transfers it would be our number 1 card, if you can pay back your entire balance in 15 months it's a better deal than the Virgin card.

It's amazing how few comparison websites list the MBNA, I've just checked 7 different sites for the lowest Interest rate possible, not 1, that's right not 1 listed the MBNA card, the lowest listed on one website was a high 9.9%!!! That was the lowest APR they could find, a whole 2.7% higher than what is actually available on the market. This is why you should go to true independant websites like here, as I don't get any payments from these companies. One thing I must advise even though there's a free interest period on all purchases for these credit cards you still have to pay off the minimum owing or they will charge you a late payment fee, usually around £12.
