Glowing Skin w/ NO SHIMMER | Perfect base makeup for dry/mature skin

In the winter time, I think glowy skin is stunning. I know for me, my skin gets really dry and dull in the winter time, so I love makeup looks that make me look really bright and radiant. This look contains no shimmer at all, so it is very easy to wear, and will suit 99% of people!

MARIO BEDESCU FACIAL SPAY WITH ALOE, HERBS AND ROSEWATER | This is my new favourite thing. It is amazing! Not only has my skin cleared up from I started using this, but it keeps the makeup looking fresh and flawless all day long.

YSL TOUCHE ECLAT BLUR PRIMER | This is a gorgeous product to blur any imperfections and give you the perfect base to apply makeup on top of!

YSL TOUCHE ECLAT LE TEINT | This is by far my favourite dewy foundation. It isn't too dewy, so I love it with my combo/oily skin. It stays in place all day and has a lovely skin like finish!

BENEFIT DANDELION SHY BEAM | This was a gift from one of my friends, and I am obsessed! I apply a few strokes of this under my eyes to brighten before applying my concealer. Gorgeous product! (thanks Nicole :) )

CLARINS INSTANT CONCEALER | I always get so many compliments about my makeup when I have this concealer on. It doesn't look or feel heavy, but leaves a lovely radiant finish. Its full coverage, with the most beautiful finish!

BARE MINERALS MINERAL VEIL | A light dusting of this is perfect to set your makeup, but keep your makeup dewy and radiant! Love this!

ZOEVA ROSE GOLD BLUSH PALETTE | The blush in this is gorgeous, it does have a slight shimmer, but its more glowy and radiant than it is shimmery. The highlight it also gorgeous, with a slight gold Iridescence that can be built up to the intensity that you want!

Finish by setting with the facial spray again, and your good to go!

I am so excited to share these photos with you! This is my first photo shoot, and I am so happy with how everything turned out. I want to mainly specialize in bridal makeup, so that is the theme that I went with for this photo shoot. I had a brilliant time working with my model, and creating this look!

This look is obviously very subtle and natural, but all bridal looks are up to the bride, which is discussed during a consultation/trial!

ZOEVA ROSE GOLD BLUSH PALETTE | REVIEW

I was browsing Beauty Bay the other day and came across this palette from Zoeva. I have never seen this before, but it instantly caught my eye. I have also never tried anything from Zoeva, so I was very excited to give this a go.

This palette comes with a blush, ‘Palace door’, highlight ‘glowing still’ and a contour ‘heavy crown’. They are all gorgeous shades, but I was really interested to see if the quality was as good.

The blush is stunning. It is a gorgeous pink shade with gold going through it, to give a rose gold effect. This would work on so many different skin tones, which is great because more than only one or two skin tones can benefit from this palette. The blush is also extremely easy to work with. It isn’t too crazy pigmented, but it isn’t sheer either. It goes on so smooth, and blends out like a dream.

The contour shade is gorgeous. Its a lovely cool tone shade, but it is very light, so if you are a medium-deep skin tone, this contour shade would not be ideal at all. However, if your light/medium skin tone this is amazing. It is so creamy and blend-able, and it stays in place all day. It also doesn’t apply or go patchy throughout the day.

The highlight. Oh my. It is incredible. It is one of my favourite highlighters that I have ever tried, and because it has gorgeous gold shimmers going through it, it looks amazing on so many different skin tones. It goes on really nice, and can be built up too. It also stays in place all day without going patchy or disappearing!

I love this palette, from the packaging, to the colors and quality, it is great, and I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a gorgeous rose golden themed face palette!

The Weleda Pomegranate Range | AD

I have been meaning to review these products for such a long time! I was sent this many months ago, and have been trying them out for myself and my mum. I have some good thoughts on these, and I am able to give a more detailed review on this range, after having them and using them for months now. Also, to avoid any confusion, Beauty Spin is now notino.co.uk

The Regenerating Body Oil, has to be my favourite from this range. It is lightweight, and absorbs super fast. To be honest, at the start I wasn't in love with the scent, but as I have continued to use it, I love it. I apply a 50p size of this into the palm of my hand and start massaging this into my skin in circular motions, going towards the heart at all times. This is to be applied on clean, damp skin, so it is the perfect thing to apply right after you get out of the shower, morning or night. It absorbs into the skin right away and doesn't leave a greasy feel on my skin. This is amazing, and perfect for the cold winter months coming up.

The Body Care Hand Cream with Pomegranate is amazing. It is full of essential oils and very good for your skin. There is no parabens or nothing nasty in any of the Weleda products, which is great. This is quite thick, so it is great to apply at night, pop on some cotton gloves and sleep with this one on to really deeply moisturise and sooth any dry hands. Amazing!

The Smoothing Facial Serum with Pomegranate is so good! This is designed for skin over 40, so I couldn't give this a good test on myself, so my mum tried it out for me (even though she's not 40 lol). She loves this stuff, and it is now a staple part of her skincare. It hydrates the skin and plumps the skin up. It also gives a gorgeous glow. If you apply this right after toner, and then moisturise, you will wake up with soft and plump skin. Amazing for anyone looking for something smoothing and anti-aging!

Konjac Sponge | The best skincare tool for amazing skin? AD

I was so excited when the Konjac Sponge Company got in touch to send me a sponge to try out and review for you all. I have been wanting to try something like this out for the longest time, and I was very eager to try and see if they actually work as good as people said they do.

I was sent the French Green Clay Konjac Facial Puff Sponge. Which is designed specifically for oily/combination skin, which I have. I love clay masks, so I was hoping that the green clay in this would have the same effect on my skin. It is amazing. I am in love with this little sponge.

They come rock hard, which is a little scary when you first unpackage it, but after soaking it in some warm water in puffs up and becomes really bouncy and soft. I apply a little bit of cleanser on to the flat side of this, and start rubbing it all over your skin in circular motions. It creates a nice lather, and really makes sure that the cleanser works nice and deep into the skin. I also think that it is great for makeup removal. It really scrubs all of the excess dirt and makeup from the skin and pores, which, in turn, helps your skin clear up and all round become much more healthy and glowing.

I love this, its only £8.99 and the delivery is crazy fast. I love this, and will definitely repurchase this product, along with other products from the Konjac Sponge Company.

A Festive Cut Crease

I love any sort of a cut crease, wether it is winged, rounded, half or a negative space cut crease, I love them all. I think they are the most fun to recreate, and I think they look quite nice too! I have posted quite a few cut creases, but I thought that I would add a tiny little Christmas touch to it... gold glitter.

STEP ONE:

Always start of by priming the lids, I used Urban Decay Primer Potion, and then set it with a nude bone shadow, I used Too Faced Divinity. This will ensure that all of the shadows that we will add on top will blend really easily and seamlessly, over a flawless base.

STEP TWO:

I took a medium brown shade, Milk Chocolate from Too Faced, on a small crease brush, and applied this into my crease and upward, winging it out into the shape that I roughly want my cut crease to be.

STEP THREE:

I then took a small, precise, pencil brush, with a dark brown shade, Triple Fudge from Too Faced. I carefully draw this along my crease line, in the exact shape that I want my cut crease to take. Then following that with a medium brown shade once again, and blend the line of brown upward. Make sure the top line is as seamless and smooth as possible.

STEP FOUR:

I then took the dark brown shade, and continued to reapply until I got the desired depth and colour. I then took a tapered crease brush, and a little of Salted Caramel from Too Faced, and applied that right above the previous shades, to add more gradient and blend. Also, I like to add a little more warmth to the crease.

STEP FIVE:

I then took a small definer brush, and with a little of the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer, I carved out the bottom portion of the crease. This is the part that we "cut" the crease! This does have to be really sharp and precise, so take your time, and make sure to keep the line as precise as possible. Set this with a nude powder.

STEP SIX:

I took the Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Liner in Midnight Cowboy, and carefully drew a line of this along where the concealer meets the crease. Also line your eyes with your favourite black liner and apply mascara/falsies!

STEP SEVEN:

Repeat the same shades from the crease on the lower lashline, smoking it out as much as you like, not forgetting to highlight the inner corner and the brow bone.

2 Products Anyone for Anyone Who Loves Colourful Makeup | AD

I have to admit, I love bright colours, I may not wear them all that much on my eyes, but I think they are really fun to play around with. I do however, love to add a bright colour to my lower lashline, and blend it out to add a pop of colour! I think coloured liner is great, and a little bit of eyeshadow on top is perfect.

I was sent these two products a few weeks ago, and I have been trying them out to see what I think. If you love anything that is bright, fun and colourful, or you just want to add an extra pop to your glam, keep on reading!

The BH COSMETICS EYES ON THE 80's palette is full of every colour you would ever need (except the boring nude and brown shades). Blues, pinks, yellows, even green. I don't completely adore this palette, I think some of the shades are better than others. Some are really pigmented and smooth, while others are quite powdery and patchy, however they are easily fixed with a little bit of Fix+ sprayed on the brush before dipping in to the product.

The colours are very bright, and they do blend very nicely. They don't take a lot of effort to blend, and they stay looking good for a long period of time, without any creasing.

The other product I want to talk about is the DERMACOL COLOUR EYELINER IN ELECTRIC BLUE. This is stunning. I did not expect this to be so good! This is so pigmented and crazy long wearing. It is extremely easy to apply because of the felt tip applicator, and it does not irritate my eyes at all! I love this for a fun and different winged liner! If you are wearing a really simple makeup look, this can add so much to your makeup look, and really make blue eyes pop!

Is It a Dupe? Sleek Glitter Liner VS. Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Liner

In a recent blog post, I raved about how much I loved the Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Liners, but recently I found a much cheaper product, which claims to do a very similar job, for under £5. (UD Glitter Liners are £14 each) So, if this Sleek Glitter Liner does the same job, I will be saving quite a bit of money.

The UD liners are very highly packed with glitter. They are extremely pigmented, and the extremely thin brush makes it really easy to do precise liner. The Sleek liner is also really pigmented, but it is more pigmented with the colour, and not as much sparkle. But after building it up, you can get it very sparkly.

The Sleek liner takes forever to dry, it honestly feels like you have been sitting there for hours, just waiting for it to dry, to layer on top of it. The UD does take a little time, but not as much. Working in thin layers, it may only take up to 30 seconds for it to dry, which is also a huge benefit!

UD have 7 shades total, Sleek only has this one, which is called Steel. So, if I was going to buy some more shades, I would just go back to UD, because you can see and feel a quality difference, and it is also a lot more gentle on my eyes, causing no irritation or stinging!

They are both great, and they are similar, but I would't say that it was a dupe unfortunatly. It just doesn't have the same quality or shade range that the UD ones do. I do like the Sleek glitter eyeliner, but I just wish they had more shades to choose from!

My Favourite Lip Colour for This Christmas? KYLIE COSMETICS REIGN

I love Kylie Cosmetics. I think the quality is very high, and the prices aren't too crazy (its the customs that are overpriced!) Everything that I have tried from Kylie, I have loved. So I decided to treat myself with a Metallic Lipstick from her, in the shade Reign.

Oh my goodness. This is such a gorgeous shade! It is a beautiful deep red shade, with a lovely metallic red sheen coming from it. It is the perfect winter, Christmas shade! I think the metallic finish is very trendy right now, and also it is not uncomfortable or drying on the lips at all!

It is a little bit darker than what I expected it to be, and to be honest, I bought it actually because I thought it wasn't too dark. However, I really like how it turned out. I don't think I would have bought this type of shade for myself, but I actually really love it!

I do find that the regular matte formulas last a lot longer than this one. It doesn't feel like it sets completely on the lips, but it does feel like it is moving around throughout the day, and it does come off a lot quicker than the mattes. But it does stay on for a good few hours before having to touch it up.

I love this. I think it is so different, but so unique and lovely for this Christmas! This is maybe going to be my Christmas day lip colour! This is $18, which is roughly £14, which is not bad at all for a great lippie!

Yves Saint Laurent Teint Touche Éclat | First Impressions/Review

I am always looking for the perfect foundation. Not too heavy, not cakey, not too matte and lighweight on the skin. I have heard really good things about this YSL foundation, and being a fan of the brand for a long time, I thought I would give it a go!

This is £32.50, which is kind of pricey for a foundation, but I do have to admit that I am willing to spend the most on my foundation, because I think it is the most important part of the makeup. If your skin is looking good, the rest of your makeup will also look good! ]

This is the claims that it makes on the website:

Is it actually full coverage? No, I would say that this is a medium coverage when you initially apply it. I think it can be built up to a full coverage, but it isn't quite the full coverage at the start! It does however give a flawless radiance. It isn't oily or shiny looking, just luminous and healthy, I do tend to set this with a powder, because I am oily, but it stays in place all day, with no touch ups needed at all, so it does last 8 hours, and longer!

It is one of the only foundations that I can say is completely weightless on my skin, while giving good coverage, it doesn't feel like I am wearing a mask of really thick and heavy foundation. Plus, this smells so fancy, haha! If you have tried other YSL products, you know the smell I am talking about!

I love this stuff, and I would highly recommend it! I also think that it is great for most skin types, maybe not if you are super oily, but if you are normal, dry or slightly oily, like me, this is great, and you will love it! Let me know if you have tried this, and what you thought of it!

RCMA VK 11 Foundation Palette | The Perfect Palette for Pro Makeup Artists?

Since I have started my makeup artist career, I have been working really hard on building up my kit. The one area that I knew I was probably going to have the spend the most money on was base. Foundation, concealers and powders. I knew that not only was it going to cost me a complete fortune, but it would take a while to get all the shades, undertones and different types of foundations/concealers for all skin tones and types.

I remember years ago when I first started watching Kandee Johnson on YouTube, she raved about the RCMA VK11 Palette. It is basically a palette with 18 shades of foundation and concealer. So I decided to purchase one for my kit, for professional use. I also knew that I would probably go through this very fast, so I decided to also buy the Graftobian HD Creme Foundation Super Palette, so if you want me to also do a review on that, comment below letting me know!

RCMA | PROS

-Very full coverage / 50% pigment, regular foundations from highend or drugstore usually range from 10% to 20% pigment, so a little goes a very long way!

-No nasty ingrediants

-Suits most skin types

-Has a great range of colours

-Can be used as concealer too!

-It contains only vegetable oils, pure waxes and FDA approved colours

-Safe for use on everyone, including pregnant women and vegans!

-Very lightweight and extremely long lasting

-It does need to be warmed up on the back of the hand first, as it can be a little hard to work with straight from the palette!

-You don't get a huge amount of each shade of foundation in the palette

So you can obviously see that the Pros definitely outweigh the cons! I love this and would recommend this specifically to anyone who is a pro makeup artist, but it is amazing for anyone using it just for personal use, as it is awesome as a cream contour and highlight palette too!

This is amazing, and would highly recommend! This is definitely a five star product in my opinion.

Morphe Brushes | Worth the hype?

Ok, I am 100% sure that all of you would have heard of Morphe Brushes by now. They are a relatively new brand, which everyone has been going crazy over on social media. Since I am a makeup artist, I love trying new brushes, because brushes are so important when it comes to doing good makeup. So I decided to give these a go, and heres what I thought...

First off, the brushes themselves are affordable. I ordered them direct from the Morphe site however, and shipping it to the UK is not affordable. I paid $40 for shipping, and then another £30 for customs. Safe to say I will not be ordering direct from them again, but from Cult Beauty because it doesn't have to go through customs, and it comes from the UK.

To get to the point, these brushes are amazing. They are so soft and so easy to work with, so easy to clean and are completely cruelty free. I chose a goat hair set, and also a synthetic set, so I would be able to review both. I loved both, but I personally preferred the synthetic set. They are much easier to clean and I find that they don't absorb as much product as the natural hair set. I find that the synthetic brushes are a little softer too!

Both sets of brushes give a super airbrushed finish. Very smooth and very flawless. I love these, and I will for sure be ordering some more of these brushes in the future!

Benefit KaBrow vs. Freedom Brow Pomade | High End Vs. Affordable

As many of you will already know, Benefit Ka Brow is my all time favourite brow product. It is so quick and easy, although it is a little bit more on the pricey side. I was in Superdrug the other day, and I came across the Freedom Brow Pomade, and thought it was a similar idea as Ka Brow, so I thought I would try it out for this post!

Benefit Ka Brow is quite dry for a pomade, which is nice because you get good control that way with it and it isn't as messy when you blend it out with a spoolie. However, the Freedom one is a lot softer, which means yes it is super pigmented, but when you come to blend the product through the brow, it can get very smudged and messy!

Ka Brow comes in 6 shades, while the Freedom comes in 11 shades, so there is definitely something to match you perfectly, if you can't find your perfect shade in Ka Brow. So that is great, and something that certainly makes the product seem better!

They both stay on all day, but I do find that the Ka Brow is a little harder to get off, and it is waterproof. The Freedom Brow Pomade does stay on all day, but as far as I am aware, I don't find this to be waterproof, or as long lasting as Ka Brow.

So in my opinion, I do prefer the Benefit product. I think it is quick and easy to apply, and it stays on better than any other brow product I have ever tried. However, if you are looking for an affordable brow product, then the Freedom one is for you! It's only £5, and there is very little differences between the Benefit and it.

This was sent to me a few weeks ago, for a review, and I can't wait to share this with you all! I haven't really seen anything like this for an affordable price, so I was really excited to try this out. You can find this on Beauty Spin, for a discounted price! This is very good! I was sent the medium/dark shade, which I am actually really happy about! Although I am very pale, I needed some new products for clients with darker skin tones, and this is perfect. It comes with a bronzer, contour, blush, banana powder and highlighter! All in one palette!

The blush is gorgeous for autumn time, and is very flattering on darker skin tones, however, I find it can be quite strong and hard to blend out once applied, but the colour is gorgeous on the eyes and the cheeks!

The bronzer is stunning! It has soft gold flex running through it, and it is such a gorgeous shade. It is warm, and just adds the perfect sunkissed glow to your skin, without being too much. The contour shade is similar, but completely matte and cool toned. It has a lovely pigmentation that isn't too much, and it blends like a dream, it also doesn't look ashy!

The highlight is ok, it isn't too intense, but it just gives a natural glow to your skin, enhancing the look of a sun kissed glow! The banana powder is great, I really like it. It is very fine, but not too powdery or cakey. Its perfect to sweep under the eyes to set and highlight the under eye area!

My Favourite Cruelty Free Beauty Brands

If you have seen my last few posts, you would have noticed that I have been talking a lot about cruelty free makeup and beauty. I have explained it before, so I am not going to go in to too much detail, but long story short, I love animals, and the thought of any of them getting harmed really annoys me! So I have been doing research on some cruelty free makeup, and thought I would share my top favourite cruelty free brands!

INSTANT EFFECTS

I got to know about this brand a few months ago, when they kindly sent me some products to review, and I have been obsessed with their brand ever since. They are 100% cruelty free, and they work! The lip plumper is the best I have ever tried, the eye cream is magical and the lash serum makes your lashes and brows very long and thick!

TOO FACED

I feel like this is an obvious one, since I am always using their products and sharing photos of their products on my Instagram. Not only are they amazing for your skin, because they include skin loving ingredients, but they are such high quality, and they have such a good range of products.

BLANK CANVAS COSMETICS

I first started using this brand last Christmas, after receiving some of their goodies as a Christmas present. I was not expecting anything huge to be honest, but these are some of the best brushes that I have ever used. They are so soft, and easy to work with. They do such a good job at evenly applying and blending out makeup, so they are perfect for even professional makeup!

CLARINS

I was so happy to find out Clarins were cruelty free. They have some of my favourite products, their concealer and foundations are so good! Such a good brand, and 100% cruelty free!

BARE MINERALS

Like the Too Faced, if you have been here for a while, you seen this coming. This is one of my top 3 favourite brands. Their cosmetics are so good for your skin, so pure, and very high quality. When my skin is going through a hard time, I always resort back to this, and within three days, the original foundation clears up my skin! A really amazing brand to try out!

THE BALM

This is a high end brand, which is not extremely expensive, but so good! Their highlights are amazing, especially Mary Lou! So happy this is another brand that does not test on animals!

URBAN DECAY

I have been buying Urban Decay since I was about 13 or 14, so if they weren't cruelty free, I would be pretty upset! Thankfully, they are cruelty free, and their products are amazing. Their new All Nighter foundation is my new favourite, and the Naked palettes, are just a holy grail staple in so many peoples makeup collection, including mine!

Burnt Orange Glam Cut Crease with Glitter / Ft. Morphe 35O

I recently got the Morphe 35O palette, and I am obsessed! All the colours scream autumn time, and they are all gorgeous for so many different looks! I was playing around with it during the weekend, and I created this cut crease look, with a pop of glitter. I think it is so pretty and perfect for this time of the year! This look is also really nice with blue eyes, as the orange/red tones really bring out the blue in the eyes.

Step One

Start of by priming the eyelid and setting it with a white/cream shadow. I used the shadow in the top left hand corner of the palette.

Step Two

I took the light orange shade on a fluffy crease brush and applied this into my crease as my transition shade.

Step Three

I took the orange shade in the top right of the palette and applied it to my crease using a fluffy pencil style brush. I then went back in with the previous shade and brush to blend this out.

Step Four

I then took the much darker, almost red orange, and applied this to my crease to deepen the look. I used an even smaller crease brush, and then took the previous shade and brush to blend this out.

Step Four

I then took a small, precise concealer brush and carved out my eyelid to crease, to create the cut crease look! Be sure to be very precise with this, and take your time with the concealer.

Step Five

I then took Makeup Atelier glitter, and using a small liner brush, applied this along the crease, just above where you carved the crease out with concealer! I then set this with the white shade in the palette!

Step Six

I then took the same shades that I used in my crease and on a small pencil brush, I applied them to my lower lash line. I then took a blending brush and blended outward, in to a wing shape from my lower lash line.

Step Seven

I then applied a thin layer of liquid liner to my top lashline, and then applied some false lashes on top, which is optional, you can just apply mascara if you like!

YouTube Made Me Buy It

I will admit, I have bought things because of the hype and buzz around it, on YouTube. I have been watching beauty videos on YouTube since I was about nine, and to be honest, I have bought a lot of products based on YouTube recommendations. Comment down below if you have too, because I am pretty sure I'm not alone on this one!

URBAN DECAY ALL NIGHTER FOUNDATION

This is something that was raved about so much on YouTube for the last month or so, so I had to try it out for myself. It is now my favourite, go-to foundation. I have a review that goes into much more detail on this, so if you want more detail, you should probably give that a read!

URBAN DECAY NAKED SKIN CONCEALER

I have pretty much used every drop of this concealer up, and I will be repurchasing this! It is the best concealer for the under eyes. Jaclyn Hill, Kandee Johnson, Sinead Cady are just some of the YouTubers who have raved about this, and they are so right about how good it is!

BENEFIT HOOLA

I am pretty sure a few years ago, every single beauty vlogger had this product! I my first Hoola for Christmas a few years ago, and I have been hooked ever since. It is the perfect bronzer, but also the perfect cool toned contour shade!

SLEEK SOLSTICE HIGHLIGHT PALETTE

Jaclyn Hill was the first that I heard talk about this, and then it went huge! Everyone seemed to love it! This was sold out almost everywhere, so I had to hunt for this, but it is so worth it! It is such a beautiful palette, and for such an affordable price tag!

THE BALM MARY LOU MANIZER*

This was sent to me, but I would have totally bought it if not. This seems to be in everyones top ten highlights, and this is definitely one of my favourite highlights, perfect for us fair skin girls! Totally worth all the hype on YouTube!

KYLIE COSMETICS LIP KIT (KOKO, CANDY K)

YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, the list goes on, they were all flooded with Kylie Jenner's lip kits. I managed to get my hands on two of them, and they are so good. I know a lot of people don't like these, but I love them, and use them a lot!

TOO FACED CHOCOLATE BAR PALETTE

This was consistently popping up in tutorials, and everyone was raving about it, including Kandee Johnson, and when Kandee recommends a product, you just know that it is going to be amazing! I love it, and use it everyday!

BENEFIT THEY'RE REAL

Again, who didn't have this a few years back. I have repurchased this so many times, and it still remains very popular on YouTube, so if you haven't tried this, go buy it, you will love it!

What To When Your Foundation Doesn't Match

We have all been there. We buy a foundation, super excited to try it, pump it out and WOOHOO. Wrong shade. The most annoying thing ever. Well, there are some things that I have found that could help the situation not to be so annoying! These are just the things that I think help in an emergency, let me know if anything that you find helps, in the comments below!

IF ITS TOO LIGHT

Bronzer is your best friend

Sometimes it's as easy as swirling on a little bronzer all over. High points of the face, and maybe just a light dusting over the whole face. Make sure to use a very light hand if your applying to the whole face, with very small amounts of product, but focus it on the normal bronzing areas mostly!

Darker face powder

This is really easy, grab a face powder, that you know for sure is darker than the foundation, and matches you perfectly. This can be a pigmented setting powder, or even a powder foundation.

Hold off on any lighter concealer

If your foundation is too light, its not a good idea to add more lighter products on top, obviously. So, use a concealer around the same shade as the foundation, so your not making anything lighter.

Mix in a little darker foundation

This is the easiest, and probably the most used trick. Take a foundation that is too dark for you, and slowly add to the lighter foundation, on a mixing palette, or back of your hand. Slowly add this in, and keep testing to make sure you get the perfect shade.

IF ITS TOO DARK

Highlight!

Take a concealer that is lighter than the foundation, and highlight under the eyes, bridge of the nose, under the hollows of your cheeks, centre of the forehead and chin. This is going to lighten the shade of your face right away, and help lighten the face up. Don't apply this lighter concealer on blemishes, only on the highlight areas.

Blend it down the neck

Now, this obviously depends on how dark the foundation is. If it is just a few shades darker than your skin tone, blend it on to the ears, and down your neck. You could also blend it down to the chest, if you really need to!

Mix in some moisturiser

If you take some of your foundation, and mix it in with some moisturiser, it will sheer the pigmentation of the foundation, so that the colour won't be as intense. Its a good idea, if you are really in a hurry! Its also better on the skin as it is lighter and more breathable on your skin!

Have a light hand with bronzer

This is pretty obvious. Applying bronzer will only darken the face even more, so instead, focus more on applying a lighter powder, to still give a contoured effect. You can apply the lighter powder right under the area that you would contour your cheeks, the bridge of the nose and the centre of your forehead, basically non-touring!

I know the first time that I walked into Boots to buy makeup for the first time, I did not know where to look first, I really had no idea what I was looking for. I ended up with a lot of different coloured eyeliners, and very bright, very light pink lipsticks, not to mention a foundation 5 shades too dark for me. This post is to help any of you who is starting out, and maybe help you avoid the mistakes that I made!

L'Oreal True Match Foundation | £9.99

I love this stuff, and if you are new to makeup, this is the best one to go for. If you have amazing skin, skip on foundation, just go straight to concealer, on the areas that you need it. It suits all skin types, and it isn't too heavy, not to mention that it comes in every shade and undertone! (Click here to find out what your under tone is)

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer | £4.19

This is really good. It is full coverage, easy to apply and blend and it stays in place all day long. Plus, its very affordable! Perfect if your starting out in makeup.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder | £3.99

This is a great powder, as it is transparent and works for all skin types. A light dusting of this sets the makeup, and keeps your skin matte and fresh all day long.

NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer 'Sunny' | £2.61

When I first started to buy makeup, this was my favourite. Everyone talked about it on YouTube, so I thought I was really cool owning my own, haha! It can be used not only to bronze, and warm up the face, but to also add definition and contour.

MUA Blush | review | £1

These are only £1, and they are amazing. They are super pigmented, very blend able and come in every shade you would ever need!

*Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter | review | £3.00

This is a gorgeous highlight. It can be quite intense, but if you use a light hand, this is just a nice, glowing touch to your makeup!

L'Oreal Brow Artist Shaper | £4.99

This is great, you get the pencil, wax and a little brush to blend. It comes in a range of different shades, and is very easy to apply.

Maybelline The Nudes Palette | £9.99

This has got some really good shadows, matte and shimmer. Easy to blend and decent pigmentation, really good for beginners too!

L'Oreal Super Slim Liner | £6.99

This is the best eyeliner I have ever tried. It is a very easy liquid liner, so if you want to only do a very slim line, or a more dramatic winged liner, this makes it very easy to do!

Maybelline Big Eyes Mascara | £8.99

This is great for any beginner because it has an upper lash wand, then a lower lash line wand. Its such a great mascara, for lengthening and adding lift to the lashes. It really does open up your eyes, and enhance your eyes.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lip Liner | £2.99

This lasts all day long and it doesn't feel to drying on your lips. They also come in so many different shades.

Wet n Wild Long Lasting Lipsticks | review | £2.00

These are my favourite affordable lipsticks. They come in every shade and a lot of different finishes. They last all day and don't dry out your lips!

NYX Butter Gloss | £5.00

These are really nice glosses. They are highly pigmented, and don't feel sticky or gross on your lips! The perfect affordable lip gloss!

Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation Review

I love trying new foundations. Whenever I see a new foundation coming out, I instantly want to try it out! Especially if it is long wearing and full coverage. I think this Urban Decay foundation came out about a month ago, and I have been wanting to try it out. I have been using it for about a week now, so I have a good amount of thoughts and I am able to do my review now!

This claims to be a full coverage, long wearing, waterproof and it has a matte finish! So, it is definitely something that appealed to me! These claims are not lies either! This foundation is the most full coverage thing I have ever tried. Redness, acne scarring, freckles, you name it, this covers it! You only need one pump, and that leaves a full coverage finish on the whole face!

My favourite way to apply this foundation is with a Beauty Blender. I find when I use a brush, I can kind of look cakey, but the Beauty Blender just gives a more skin like finish. It blends really nicely, the only thing I don't love about this, is that it sets very quickly, so when you dot this on your skin, you have to start blending quickly. But it blends seamlessly, and very quickly. I tried to build this foundation up, and it does build really nicely. It doesn't go cakey, or patchy, but it layers beautifully, just adding a touch more coverage to the desired area!

This stays on all day long without fail. It doesn't get oily, it doesn't break down, it just stays looking amazing all day long! I do set this with a very light powder, but throughout the day, I don't feel the need to touch up, or apply any additional products. If you have oily skin, you will adore this foundation, but if you have dry skin, try mixing it with a dewy product, like Dew the Hoola from Benefit. I tried this, and it was stunning. With one pump, it doesn't give too much of a bronzed effect when mixed in with your foundation, but just adds a healthy glow. Even something like the Cover FX Highlight Drops, would work really well in this!

This is amazing, and I would highly recommend this, especially to any of you more on the oily side!

One Blush, 3 Different Uses | Nars Dual Intensity Blush | AD

So this is my first NARS product. I feel like they are iconic for blushes, and they all look so amazing. I came across this beauty on Beauty Spin, and instantly ordered it! Beauty Spin kindly sent this to me for free, in order for me to do this review. I am so happy that I have this, and I can't wait to let you know about the three ways you can use this dual blush!

Nars Dual Intensity Blush 'Fervor'

This is not only beautiful as a blush, but I found some other uses for this, meaning you get more out of your makeup, and you don't have to use as many products in your makeup routine.

I thought this was good as a blush, but this is a stunning shade on the eyes. The darker shade has been my go to shade for all over my lid recently, and I think it is so flattering on blue eyes. It stays in place for a really long time. I don't really use the pale pink shade on my eyes, but the darker shade is stunning!

This is also gorgeous shade to apply in the centre of the lips, on top of lipstick. The pale pink shade adds a really pretty highlighted effect to the centre of the lips. I pat this on with my finger, then slightly blot my lips, it leaves such a pretty finish!

So there you have it, one product, three uses. I love this stuff, and I will definitely be purchasing more NARS products in the near future!

Skincare Mistakes That Could Be Breaking You Out

I have always stressed, and known how important a good skincare routine is. Morning and night, its really important to take good care of you skin on a daily basis. It brings so many benefits to the skin, and you can really see a difference in your skin, after you have been doing your routine for a while. However, sometimes, there are mistakes in your skincare routine, which may actually be making your skin worse. I have made so many of these and I can assure you, once I stopped them, my skin got so much better, so fast! These are just the things that helped me out, and could maybe help you out too! Comment below if you have any mistakes that you know of, that I haven't mentioned.

OVER EXFOLIATING

Looking back 2 years ago, I used to scrub my face everyday. I used to use St. Ives Apricot Scrub, which is quite harsh. This is so bad for your skin! It strips all of the essential oils out of the skin, and dries your skin out so badly! I now use a very gentle exfoliator a few times a week, but it is much more gentle than the apricot scrub! The more gentle, the better. Its also just way to harsh on your skin!

SKIPPING MOISTURISER

This is something that I was very guilty of a few months ago. I used to only apply moisturiser in the morning, before makeup, but never at night. If your like me, and you have oily skin, then you may think you don't need more moisture, but you do. If you cleanse and tone your skin, if you don't re-moisture your skin with an oil free moisturiser, your skin will over produce oil, causing more blocked pores, and in result, more acne! So make sure you never skip moisturiser!

NOT REMOVING MAKEUP BEFORE BED

This is something that I always make sure to do. I always remove my makeup before bed. If you don't, your skin won't be able to breath through the night, which is when your skin is supposed to repair itself. Your pores will get blocked, and you will probably end up breaking out within a few days!

SQUEEZING/PICKING ACNE

This is one of the worst things you can do! Squeezing acne, can spread bacteria, and can actually leave a scar behind. Its very bad for the skin, your better to just apply an acne medication / spot treatment on to the area instead!

USING ACNE MEDICATION / SPOT TREATMENTS AFTER MOISTURISER

When you apply an acne medication, make sure you do it on bare skin. No serum, no moisturiser. Applying it on top can actually make it less effective, because it has to fight through the other products to work, instead of working instantly on the acne. So always apply it, let it dry, then apply your creams!

My Updated Daily Makeup Routine

My makeup routine is always changing, and you all seem to really love these types of posts. So this is my new updated version, which actually uses a lot less products than my last routine! You may think this is a lot of makeup, but I don't wear this everyday. This is only on the days that I want to wear a full face of makeup, but I don't wear makeup every single day!

BARE MINERALS BB PRIME TIME | £23

I apply this all over my face, using only a small amount, and working it into the skin with my fingertips! Its lightly tinted, so it will give a little coverage, and also has SPF 25, so it protects your skin!

MAYBELLINE FIT ME MATTE AND PORELESS | £5.99

I dot this all over my skin evenly, and blend it in either with my Beauty Blender, or a Blank Canvas F20 brush, if I want more coverage. It gives a nice medium to full coverage finish, and stays perfect all day long!

CLARINS INSTANT CONCEALER* | £22

I apply this under my eyes, I don't focus on highlighting with this, just to cover up darkness and add a little but more brightness under my eyes. I usually blend concealer out with my damp Beauty Blender, but I prefer to use Real Techniques Contour Brush to blend this, in patting motions.

MAC STUDIO FINISH CONCEALER | £15

I just apply a little of this onto any more areas that I need a little more coverage. Using a small liner brush, and a small crease blush to blend.

BLANK CANVAS CONTOUR AND HIGHLIGHT POWDER PALETTE | £14.14

I use the yellow toned shade to set my whole face on a fluffy brush, then a damp beauty blender to use the white powder to set and highlight my under eyes. The white is really nice to highlight the under eyes, without being too harsh! I also apply this white powder to the bridge of my nose, centre of the forehead, and chin, also under my contour to clean it up.

I also use the contour shade in this to contour my cheekbones, forehead, jawline and nose. I use a RT contour brush to apply this.

The bronze shade is also such a beautiful shade, which I apply to the forehead, and anywhere the skin would naturally hit my face!

BENEFIT ROCKATEUR BLUSH | £23.50

This is the perfect everyday blush, it gives a soft glow, and just a healthy glowing flush to the skin! I apply this with a small blush brush, and blend it with a large stippling brush!

SLEEK SOLSITCE HIGHLIGHT PALETTE | £10

I use the peach tone and the white highlight mixed together on the tops of my cheekbones, tip of the nose, cupids bow and brow bone, using a Blank Canvas F14 brush.

TOO FACED CHOCOLATE BAR PALETTE | £39

This is no joke what I use every single day! The warm tones are my favourite! I will also be doing my go to eye makeup soon, but this is the palette that I always use!

LANCOME HYPNOSE MASCARA* | £23.50

I apply this to my lashes, focusing it on the base of my lashes, and wiggling upward. I apply two or three coats of this!

BARE MINERALS LASTING LINE 'BLACK' | £15

I use this to tight line and waterline my eyes. I also like to softly smudge this on my lower lash line to give a very soft smokey effect.

TOO FACED MELTED LIPSTICK 'MELTED NUDE' | £19

This goes with almost any makeup look, and it is very comfortable and long-wearing on the lips.
