Google has been developing a new algorithm for indexing textual content in Flash files of all kinds, from Flash menus, buttons and banners, to self-contained Flash websites. Recently, we’ve improved the performance of this Flash indexing algorithm by integrating Adobe’s Flash Player technology.

In the past, web designers faced challenges if they chose to develop a site in Flash because the content they included was not indexable by search engines. They needed to make extra effort to ensure that their content was also presented in another way that search engines could find.

Another very important factor of having a successful website is ensuring a good ranking with search engines such as Google. This is achieved by means of Search Engine Optimization (SEO). SEO is the process of improving the amount and the quality of traffic that is directed to the website via a search for targeted keywords. This is an initial service that should be included by a good website design company, but that will need to be maintained on a regular basis, such as by adding new content on a regular basis. A website that makes use of correct spelling and grammar (i.e. that has been proofread and has had all errors corrected) is also of  the utmost importance, as a small error might put off a potential customer, thereby costing you money without you even being aware of it.
