I've totally slacked on the whole 'trying beauty box products' this month. I usually give myself a couple of weeks to try the products before doing a full review but i just haven't had a chance to fit them in to my routine as I'm either in the middle trying similar products or i just haven't had a chance. So for this post is more of a general overview and initial thoughts.

Another lovely box from the people at Jolie Box with a good selection of products. They usually have one box so everyone gets the same but for this month I've seen another Talika product and different China Glaze shades. But I'm really happy with the box i got. I've never tried an eyelash growth product before so I'm looking forward to trying this and see if it actually works, i think it uses natural ingredients so that's always good. I sometimes dislike getting creams in beauty boxes, sometimes they're quite hit and miss for me and my skin. Unfortunately i really don't like the floral scent, but it's a nice rich cream. A nice travel size primer from RMK which I've heard great things about, I'd be interested in trying other items fro RMK if this lives up to the hype.

Jolie box is my favourite beauty box, i just find their boxes so consistent and i just think their products are more fitted to what i expect from a box. I think they listen to their subscribers and try to bring something and varied to us. As usual, I'm excited to see what they come up with next month.

NEXT A/W 2012 PRESS DAY

Last Thursday i went down to London with Kavita to attend the Next A/W press day in one of the rooms at Somerset House. It was the most perfect location with balconies over looking the courtyard and we we're spoilt with drinks, sandwiches and sweet treats. It was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon to the hottest day of the year.

I'm a real A/W fan, i always find it so hard to know what to wear in the summer and feel comfortable (I'm all for chunky knits, layers). In true A/W form Next will have a lot of dark colours so there's your typical burgundy, greys, browns and blacks but there's a lot of lighter neutral shades too which i really like. They have the transition between Autumn/Winter spot on with light weight jumpers and cardigans in lighter shades such as oranges, reds and cream. Of course it wouldn't be A/W without your tailored jackets, tweed and tartan cardigans/coats so it's great to see a good selection of items featuring those themes. Next have catered for the party season too as sequins were everywhere! Lots of sequin details on tops, dresses, shoes and bags. Studs will also continue to take this year by storm with studded detail on blouses and accessories.

The selection of home wear is beautiful, a lot of it takes a vintage feel with the white wash units, tarnished wire frames and clocks. There's a nice range of floral accessories which is a trend we've seen for a while now. My ultimate favourite item though is the thread candle holders! How amazing are they?! I want one in every colour!

I fell in love with so any items from this collection and I'm really looking forward to seeing them hit the shops later on in the year. I really did have a lovely day so big thanks to Next & Ellie for inviting me!

WHAT I WORE

I wore this outfit when I went to London last week for the Next A/W press day (more on that tomorrow!) I bought this dress especially for it as with the colour and material I thought it would be really cool on the hottest day of the year (ignore the tights and blazer – figure issues) What I didn’t think about it how creased it would get and how said creases made it a lot shorter (que dress riding up to my bum whilst walking across kings cross and not realising until on the train) but after a wash and iron it's back to normal.

So i'm going to be typically British and say HOW AMAZING IS THIS WEATHER?! I'm one for routines and don't like to deviate from it but everything went out the window this weekend as all I wanted to do was sit outside and enjoy the sun! I've never faked tanned in my life so if the chance comes up to get a natural one I go all out. It also means I don’t have to wear foundation as the sun does a great job of giving me an even skin tone so that takes a few mins off my make up routine in the morning. I even washed my hair purposely this morning just so I could sit outside and let it dry naturally. Please don't leave us sun!

This is my last full week off before I start my new job (yay) so I’m hoping to get loads of blog post written up and scheduled for the days when I’m working (I really don't want to break my blogging every day rule) and hopefully I can keep on top of it all! I was going to go home this weekend for the bank holiday but there are lots of reasons for not going so if anyone knows of any events going on in Leeds please let me know! I'm going down to London again on Thursday for the Debenhams press day which i'm really looking forward to because I get to spend the day with Gemma which is just as amazing!

Today i'm off in to town to meet the beautiful Summer and help her with some bloggy things! She's FINALLY rejoined Youtube again so everyone go and say hello!

I'M LOVING... YANKEE CANDLES

Apologizes for my lack of designer inspired post today, I've been outside enjoying the sunshine and the thought of spending hours sat on my laptop doing a post makes me want to cry a little bit. So here i am, with still an eBay themed post but not quite the 'usual' Sunday one'.

Yankee candle samples - £1.31 each
Last month for my birthday i received my first ever Yankee candle (vanilla cupcake) and fell in love with it straight away. It's quite a rich scent, so i don't burn it for long and i really wanted to try some others. Yankee candles are quite expensive, a large jar is usually around £18 so i wanted to get some smaller ones first to see if i liked the scent enough to buy a bigger one. In true me form i headed over to eBay to see if i could find any offers on and this amazing seller came up selling all various sizes and scents. I decided to go for the sampler offer (£1.31 each) and i ended u buying 7 (the ones above) which i think is an amazing deal as i only paid £1.85 postage for them all.

So far I've burnt midnight jasmine, mandarin cranberry and pink sands and I'm already eyeing up a large jar for the cranberry one. I probably wouldn't buy the other two again. I think getting samples is a great way to find out if you like the scent enough to buy it and because they're so small you can burn whichever scent fits your mood that day. Burn time is around 8-10 hours i think, from what I've worked out anyway. I really love these candles and I'm excited to try some others!

Lolita Lempicka L'Eau en Blanc Giveaway!

I must admit i've never actually heard of Lolita Lempicka, I tend to stick to the same perfumes and don't really pay attention to any others but after reading about L'Eau en Blanc I think i'd actually really like it. It's a powdery-floral fragrance which delicately reveals its sweet, sensual notes. There's white violets infused with crystalline iris notes with a hidden sugared almond feel. The fresh, energetic top note is violet Leaf with green Iris. How beautiful does that sound? So perfect for summer.

PRODUCT REVIEW - LANCÔME 'ROUGE IN LOVE' LIPSTICKS

LANCÔME 'ROUGE IN LOVE' LIPSTICKS - £21* each
I have a wide collection of make up such a £1.50 pressed powder from ELF and then £11 eye shadows from MAC. Most people say you get what you pay for, which I think can be applied a lot of the time but I've paid a lot for certain products which ended up being rubbish. There's a reason why high end make up has the price tag it does, sometimes I think it's justified and others not so much. But these lipsticks are worth every single penny, they deserve the high end title and I think everyone should own at least one in their make up bag.

The 'Rouge In Love' lipstick collection from Lancome has over 20 shades which have been categorized in 3 moods: Jolis Matins: Fresh shades for daytime wear. Jolis Matins shades are identified with the letter M in the shade number. Boudoir Time: Pop shades for cocktail hour. Boudoir Time shades are identified with the letter B in the shade number. Tonight is My Night: Intense shades for magical nights. Tonight is My Night shades are identified with the letter N in the shade number. As you can see I have ones from the Boudoir Time , the first being a nice neutral pinky/taupe colour called 'Lasting Kiss' which is my most worn one. The next two are 'Rouge In Love' (worn here) and 'Rose Boudoir' (worn here) which are very similar in colour with rich pink undertones, but Rose Boudoir is a little softer in shade. Finally there's 'Violette Coquette' which is a rich purple colour which I must admit I was a little unsure about at first, but it's a lot lighter on the lips (worn here) and I love it!

These lipsticks are far from your typical lipstick texture, they have a balm like feel, aren't dry in the slightest and they leave your lips feeling hydrated. They has a really long wear time too, maybe not the 6 hours as advertised but you can certainly eat and drink with the product on and the pigmentation is powerful. It's a very light product which I really like, there have been times where I've forgotten I've actually had the product on! I've had these lipsticks for a few weeks now and I must admit all of my other most used lipsticks have taken a back seat. I think they're brilliant value for money and I already have another couple of shades on my wish list!

WHAT I WORE - MATALAN STYLE PROJECT

So i'm a few days late for my usual outfit post. I've actually been wanting to post this for a couple of weeks but i've had to wait as this outfit is actually for a competition. Last month I was asked if I’d like to take part in this months Matalan style comp which was to style an outfit based on the theme 'girlie' which they describe as cute cuts and sugary sweet colours with a bit of 50s Americana mixed in, this was the outfit I came up with. I absolutely love Matalan and their fashionable and affordable pieces so I was really excited to take part! I actually really like my outfit and I feel like I’ve stepped out of my usual comfort zone for it which is always a bonus! I think this outfit will become a summer favourite. It feels like I haven't posted an update in forever. But i'm still here and doing the same old. I went home this weekend just gone for my Dads birthday which was so nice, I made him his own chocolate Glossybox and had some cupcakes made (pics on my instagram vipxo). It always makes me sad to leave but hopefully we'll be down again for the bank holiday weekend!

How glorious is this weather we're having? I've been really lucky enough to enjoy some time out in it and I think i've actually caught it on my face if my freckles are anything to go by. I'm going down to London tomorrow for the day which i'm super excited about, I haven't been down since February (I think) so it's been long over due. I'm going to be popping along to the Next A/W preview which i'm sure will be lovely! I'm having an absolute nightmare with what to wear as I have to wear something suitable for the hottest day of the year, but also suitable for the 5 hours i'll be travelling. So yes, having a bit of a self loathing moment. But anyways, will I be seeing any of you there?

A couple of things i'm looking forward too... starting my new job in June, road tripping down to London to see the new Prometheus film and for October to hurry up so I can watch the new series of The Walking Dead which i'm actually obsessed with having watched the first two series in a week.

PRODUCT REVIEW - SLEEK I- DIVINE V1: BRIGHT

Sleek ultra matte i-Divines: V1 Bright - £6.99
As much as i love a good smokey eye, i also love bright eye shadows too and have worn them numerous amounts of times on the blog (here, here and here). So when i got the chance to try the new V1 Brights palette from Sleek i was pretty excited. As I'd already tried the new blush palette and was really impressed i hoped this palette would be just as good! You can see that the eye shadows are indeed very bright and there is a good range to choose from (apart from the two pinks which are practically identical) the only downside to this palette is that some of the colours are less pigmented than others (pink, grey, white) and some were very chalky (light pink, orange & yellow) but this isn't much of an issue. I did have to do a couple of swipes on my wrist to show the true colour, but to me that's a good thing as they can be build able for a more intense look or you can keep it subtle. They do blend very well and are ok for lasting time, i would seriously recommend an eye primer as that seemed to make a difference with how long the colour lasted. I would suggest you don't buy this palette if you think you only need to use one brush stroke to get the X colour as an intense it looks, you will have to use a bit of product and build it on. But i think the kind of looks you can create with it make that worth it. I do really like this palette, I'm glad i own it and i do think it's worth the price.

Just a heads up, Superdrug currently have a 3 for 2 on all make up!

PRODUCT REVIEW - APRIL GLOSSYBOX

I'm sorry if you've already seen this box a million times,
but i like to give it a couple of weeks of trying the products before giving a full review.

The April Glossybox arrived through my letter box a few weeks ago now complete with natural products and packaging. I honestly didn't expect to like this box much, i had read some spoilers and i wasn't wowed but i must admit this box has to be my ultimate favourite from Glossybox (I've had at least 10) but i simply love it.

BURTS BEES BODY LOTION 70G
I've recently got in to Burts Bees products, the price kind of puts me off though! But I've been working my way through the lip balms for a while now so i was really excited to see a product i hadn't used before. The milk & honey body lotion is a very nourishing product which leaves the skin feeling/looking silky smooth. The main thing i like is the thick consistency which for me makes it easier to rub in and last longer.

MONU COLLAGEN CREAM 50ML
This hand cream is for dry,very dry or dehydrated skin which doesn't really apply to me. I can totally see how it would be perfect for those skin types though as it's a very rich cream, a little too rich for me. I'm not overly keen on the scent either, i think it might be the primrose that i don't like, for me it just seems a but too much. I know my Mum will love this product so I'll give it to her and it won't get wasted.

FIGS & ROUGH LIP, FACE & BODY BALM 8ML
I think this is my favourite product from this box, I'm an absolute sucker for cute packaging and the fact it's a lip balm is even better. I have all kind of lip products in every single bag i own and I've put this little number in my most used bag. The sweet scent reminds me very faintly of love heart sweets and gives your lips a subtle shine. I would only use this product on my lips as it is quite greasy.

INIKA - ORGANIC EYE LINER 1.2G
You can't go wrong with a black eye liner, a must have item in every make up collection and 99% of make up lines out there do their own version. So when i saw this had the hefty price tag of £11.75 i was a little shocked! I can't help but feel the price is because it's 'organic' which doesn't really matter to me. It's a fab eye liner, very long lasting and deep in colour. But i think I'll stick with my £1.99 one from Miss Sporty when I've used this one up.

CLAUDALIE QUENCHING SERUM 10ML
After getting completely hooked on the Claudalie Beauty Elixir (review here) i was really happy to see another item from them. Again this is another product aimed for dehydrated skin which i don't have. But it's a lovely product and I've been applying it before my make up in the morning. It's a very liquidated product, but a little goes a long way and it smells divine.

Like i said before this box is my favourite, to be able to use 4 products out of 5 is pretty good going and I'm really happy with the box i got. I think it's a little bit mixed with the whole natural theme, some products i get why they're in there and others not so much. I like the colour scheme of the box and it does scream natural, but i can't help but feel maybe the crinkle paper shouldn't have been there? But then again is their~ thing.

I'M LOVING... SEQUIN COLLARS

I'm a bit late to the party on the whole collar obsession but it's safe to say I'm well and truly there now, i feel like I'm a magpie drawn to embellished collars at the moment and this sequin one is a prime example. Usually I'll just feature a gifted item in an outfit post or Fridays Face but this blouse from Krisp is just so gorgeous i thought it deserved its own post. It's a beautiful light weight satin like fabric with fitted cuffs and a small key hole back. I have this blouse in taupe but it also comes in a rich coral colour, both of which are perfect for summer.

Collar details are a trend which i can see being around for a long time. But it doesn't have to be expensive, you don't have to go out and buy brand new blouses. Adding detachable collars or adding collar tips to your own ones are really easy. I've found some really nice and affordable ones here, here and here.

PRODUCT REVIEW - GOLD BY GILES POLISHES

Fashion designer Giles Deacon has teamed up with New Look to bring you a brand new beauty range for their high street/online stores. The collection has a wide range of beauty products from mascara, lip gloss, false Eyelashes, highlighter, bronzer, blusher, eye liner and nail polishes which i was lucky enough to try. Here's what i think about then...

New Look - Gold By Giles Polishes £2.99 each*

Colours:: A nice range of colours from really rich shades, brights and then this seasons pastels.

Drying time: They were pretty average, I’d say 10mins was the maximum with 2 coats. The lighter shades took a lot longer and needed more coats as they went on quite patchy to begin with. The darker colours only needed one coat and seemed to be thicker in consistency.

Wear: I tired the baby blue shade first which lasted a full two days without any chipping, but when it did start to chip it would come off in chunks, not just the odd bit. By the end of the 3rd day it had chipped so much I had to take it off. I had similar problems with the other lighter shades too. However the dark red and blue lasted a lot longer, but still continued to come off in large bits.

Packaging: I really like the square bottles and lids, the 'Gold By Giles' is a really nice touch and it's very sleek and simple. I have found the square lids tend to get stuck on the lid underneath so you have to take the square lid off to open the polish which is quite annoying. It's only happened with a few of them though! The bar code/price sticker is right over the back of the bottle so you have to break (or remove) the label to open the polish which leaves a tacky mark.

Price: £2.99 each

Overall: I think these polishes are ok, they're certainly not high end but for only £2.99 you get what you pay for. I will be using the richer colours again but I had too much hassle with the pastel ones with their drying time and consistency. Personally I think these polishes would be best suited for those who like to switch up their colours a lot and change them a couple of times a week. I think the beauty collection looks great and i will certainly try some other products, I've got my eye on the lashes and bronzer. They're all so reasonably priced too which keeps in with New Looks affordable fashion. I would give these polishes 3/5.

PRODUCT REVIEW - JOHN FRIEDA 'FULL REPAIR' RANGE

I'm a massive John Frieda fan and I’ve been using nothing but their hair products for years. I totally swear by their brilliant brunette collection and thought it was the holy grail of shampoo and conditioner, but that was until this ''Full Repair'' range came out which has totally changed my hair routine. I know sometimes when a beauty product comes out it promises you the world and just doesn't live up to the hype, but with this collection you can totally believe it. As much as I love the brilliant brunette items, I think you could say my hair got used to them and it didn't leave my hair in the condition that it used to (I didn't realise until I used the full range products). I've been using nothing but these items for the past couple of months and it's put my hair back in a brilliant condition, it feels soft, nourished and well looked after.

After using the shampoo I give my hair a deep condition every time I wash it (I only wash my hair once a week) which I think helped an awful lot. I've actually ran out of that product now but I will certainly be buying another one. The styling products are equally as good, I find running the
deep infusion gel through my hair when it's still damp takes away any kind of frizz and gives my hair a silky look/feel. I try not to use hair spray on my hair, so using the Styling spray is a good alternative as it keeps a hold on curls without being heavy.

This collection is really fantastic and I’ve been recommending it to everyone. It's well worth the money and I can promise you won't be disappointed!

I'M LOVING... BLOCK COLOURED BAGS

I came across these bags whilst looking for items for this weeks eBay designer inspired and thought they deserved a whole post of their own. I really like the simplicity of them and the gold detailing makes it look very chic! They are shoulder/cross body bags with gold chains, i didn't show this in the picture because it looked really strange! I love the variety of colours these come in which make them perfect for this seasons trends, and you know i like my block colours! I think these bags are just perfect, a great size for all your handbag necessities and can be easily dressed up or down.

PRODUCT REVIEW - MUA BB

I like to keep my blog a nice and happy place, so when I try a product I don't like I don't usually give it any 'limelight' and just stick to telling you about the ones I do like. But this post has been requested a lot, so I think it's only fair I give it my full attention. When I tell you I really wanted to love this product, I honestly did. MUA Cosmetics is one of my favourite make up lines and I can't big up their eye shadow palettes enough, so I was totally expecting amazing things from this product too. However, this just wasn't the case. I first tried this product a few weeks ago now, and my first thoughts were it's very thick. Like it's thicker than a lot of my foundations and therefore it's very difficult to blend, which then ends up not actually blending in well at all. I don't like feeling like I have make up on, but with this product it felt like I had another layer on my face and it was just really uncomfortable for me. This feeling didn't go away either, there were odd times when I would take it off as soon as I could because it just didn't feel nice. I've used this product about 8 times now and I just really can't love it. The only positive thing i've found is because of it's thickness it's great for coverage (if you can blend it in!) and it'll last for hours. But unfortunately the negatives out way the positives and this is something I won't be using again. Like i said, i've used this product a lot so to see it in action just look at recent Fridays Face.

(Please note this is just my personal opinion and experience. What doesn't work/feel nice for me could quite possibly be the best product for someone else.)

I am absolutely head over heels in love with dress! The print is fabulous and the cut is perfect. It's really loose fitting too which makes it very comfortable to wear. I can see myself wearing this a lot this summer as it's just so fresh and fun! I actually really like the brand AX Paris, they have such a wide selection on their website and it's all so reasonably priced!

I hope you're all having a lovely bank holiday weekend whatever you're up to! It looks like the whether has stayed pretty dry in Leeds which makes a change. I've probably had the laziest weekend known to man. But it's ok because I’ve hardly seen Matt due to his deadlines so we've spent past couple of days catching up with our favourite TV shows (Game Of Thrones & Big Bang Theory) and totally chilled out. I've been a little naughty and bought some things from the ASOS sale earlier, free delivery and returns just makes it so much more appealing.

You might remember last month I did a post about some fabulous designer inspired sunglasses from eBay and how I was very kindly sent some to giveaway. I'll be randomly giving away a pair every few weeks or so and I’m kicking off with this Prada inspired pair to give to one of you lucky ladies! I'm really tempted to make some more for myself, it's just so much cheaper to do it like this rather than spend a fortune on one from the high street. You know me, I’m all about saving. Someone remind me to put some more items on my eBay too, I'll only keep forgetting and it'll take me a million years to upload again!
