Arriving early next year, the 2013 Nissan Patrol is, please excuse the cliché, set to be a real game changer. The new Patrol has the heart of the new Nissan V8 Supercar and a class-leading 3,500kg braked tow rating.

The new Nissan Altima ST (from $43,990) and Altima Ti ($53,290) are available from our showroom right now after what was an incredibly exciting and at times nail biting first year back on the V8 Supercar series.

The Altima race car featured a modified 5.6L V8 engine borrowed out of the all new Nissan Patrol which actually had to be stepped down a notch to comply with series regulations. The number one selling Nissan model in the United States for many years the all new Altima is now available in New Zealand for the very first time.

Available in two grades featuring a 2.5L petrol engine producing 127kW of power and 230Nm of torque and mated to Nissan’s latest Xtronic CVT automatic transmission with reduced friction by up to 30% on previous generations, the all new Altima has improved acceleration response and boasts impressive fuel economy, all with a 5 star ANCAP safety rating.

Intelligent key, push button start, zero gravity seats, advanced driver assist display and dual zone climate air are all standard specification. The high grade adds a whole host of technology and safety features including Nissan Connect smartphone integration that allows access to online apps like Google Maps which then work in conjunction with the in car satellite Navigation system. The Around View Monitor system provides a bird’s eye view of your surroundings and makes parking or manoeuvring around in tight spaces a breeze.

Add the Blind Spot and Lane Departure warning systems, as well as a rear view camera with Moving Object Detection, and the all new Altima really is the whole package.

Despite all this, the styling is where it’s really turning heads. If you’d like to have a closer look for yourself, drop by our dealership on Moorhouse Ave in Christchurch or contact us now to arrange a test drive.

The awesome new Nissan GT-R NISMO has now arrived in New Zealand and it brings a wide range of exceptional features.

New extreme version of Nissan GT-R super sports car joins GT-R Premium Edition and GT-R Track Edition in New Zealand.

2017 GT-R NISMO sets new performance standard for legendary Nissan super sports car with 441kW / 652Nm high-capacity turbocharged 3.8L V6 engine, motorsport-inspired body, chassis and suspension developed by NISMO.

First NISMO-developed vehicle in Nissan New Zealand’s lineup, additional NISMO models planned.

Auckland, New Zealand (10 February, 2017) – If ever there was a vehicle designed to explore the upper limits of performance, the Nissan GT-R has always been it. While by its very nature evolution never stops, the advancement of Nissan’s iconic super sports car has established a new high point in the form of the 2017 Nissan GT-R NISMO.

Bearing the name of Nissan’s legendary motorsports and performance group – NISMO, an abbreviation of NISsan MOtorports – the GT-R NISMO is without question the flagship of both the GT-R and NISMO, as well as the entire Nissan brand. Now available in New Zealand, the 441kW GT-R NISMO joins the established 2017 GT-R Premium and GT-R Track Edition vehicles as the pinnacle of the revered GT-R model range.

Drawing on Nissan’s long history of sports car design, the GT-R NISMO model itself was inspired by a NISMO-prepped GT-R racecar that competed successfully at the 2012 Nurburgring 24-hour endurance race in near-production form. As proof of concept, on 30 September 2013, a “time attack” GT-R NISMO was driven to a new volume production car and Nissan GT-R Nurburgring lap record of 7 minutes, 8.679 seconds around the famed German road course. On the 19th of November 2013, the GT-R NISMO was officially unveiled on the eve of the Tokyo Motor Show.

Not surprisingly then, while the extensive refinements made to the GT-R for 2017 place an emphasis on balancing speed with the total driving experience, the new GT-R NISMO, which is based upon the MY17 GT-R, places a stronger emphasis on the “R” – as in racing – of the GT-R name. A quick glance at the GT-R NISMO specs shows:

An additional 22kW of power and 20Nm of torque compared to the GT-R Premium Edition and GT-R Track Edition

A NISMO-tuned suspension with additional roll stiffness

The addition of adhesive bonding (in addition to spot welding) for increased body shell rigidity

NISMO-tuned aerodynamic exterior elements designed to increase downforce, including carbon fibre bootlid and spoiler, carbon fibre front and rear bumpers and lower front undercover

Ergonomically sculpted Alcantara®-trimmed Recaro® front bucket seats

NISMO racing-style Alcantara®-trimmed three-spoke steering wheel with red centre mark, designed to provide the best combination of feedback, grip and comfort.

“The GT-R NISMO is a concentrated dose of NISMO’s long-standing expertise in the form of an ultra-high-performance car,” said Takao Katagiri, President and CEO of Nissan Motorsports International Co. Ltd., President and CEO of Autech Japan Inc. and Head of NISMO Business Office in Nissan Motor Co. Ltd.

“The inspiration for this extraordinary vehicle can be found in our long and successful history in developing cars for motor racing and it’s this extensive experience we have gathered from the track that has resulted in this focused version of an already special car.”

“The Nissan GT-R NISMO is arguably the most complete transfer of motor racing know-how into a production sports car, as done by a car-maker, not a tuner,” he said.

Innovative, Uncompromising Engineering

The 2017 Nissan GT-R NISMO employs innovation, uncompromising engineering and motorsports-inspired technologies to achieve extraordinary levels of power, speed and handling. Under the bonnet, the 3.8-litre V6 VR38DETT engine benefits from the expertise that NISMO has gained from participating in motorsports events around the globe. Engine power has been increased (versus standard GT-R models) and is rated at 441kW at 6,800rpm and 652 Nm of torque from 3,600rpm-5,600rpm. High-flow, large diameter turbochargers, used in the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 racing car, improve breathing, while optimised individual ignition timing control for each cylinder and upgraded fuel pump improve combustion.

Engine

As with all 2017 GT-R models, each GT-R NISMO engine is hand-assembled from beginning to end in a special clean room by specially trained technicians, a process similar to racing powerplant construction. An aluminium plate is added to the front of each engine showing the name of the “Takumi” engine craftsman, of which there are fewer than 10.

The engine features innovative plasma-sprayed bores (versus cast iron liners) for reduced friction, lighter weight, enhanced cooling, power output and fuel efficiency; a symmetrical independent intake and exhaust manifold system featuring twin NISMO-specific high-performance turbochargers; a secondary air management system for improved cold-start emissions performance; a thermostatically controlled oil-cooling system; an oil scavenger pump to maintain oil flowing to the turbochargers; and a lateral wet and dry sump oiling system. The GT-R NISMO’s rate of fuel consumption is 11.7 litres per 100km* (combined cycle). Recommended fuel type is 98 RON premium unleaded petrol and the fuel tank capacity is 74 litres.

As with all MY17 GT-R models, a special factory tuned Titanium exhaust system is fitted to the 2017 GT-R NISMO. The system is made of Formula One race-car-grade titanium (Ti-1Cu), with its alloy construction generating a high strength-to-weight ratio and delivering a weight savings over the stock exhaust unit – along with a clear sound that is unique to titanium. The system offers reduced thickness, integrated fins and undercover ducts, allowing it to endure high temperatures without affecting performance under extreme driving conditions.

Transmission

The VR38DETT V6 is backed by an advanced paddle-shifted sequential 6-speed dual-clutch transmission (wet clutch system, not dry), which can be driver selected to shift at race car-like speeds. The sequential-shifting trans-axle features separate wet clutches for the odd (1, 3, 5) and even (2, 4, 6) gears and pre-selects the next highest and next lowest gear for quick shifts.

It also features Hill Start Assist for easy starts on uphill inclines. High performance differential oil, used in GT-R motorsports competition, is standard. Along with Nissan GT-R’s unique Premium Midship platform, the GT-R NISMO utilises an independent rear trans-axle ATTESA E-TS (Advanced Total Traction Engineering System for all Terrain with Electronic Torque Split) all-wheel drive system, which optimises weight distribution and handling capability. The rear-drive-biased all-wheel drive system can vary torque split depending on speed, lateral acceleration, steering angles, tyre slip, road surface and yaw rate. Of note is a special GT-R-specific yaw-rate feedback control, which measures the differences between the target yaw rate calculated from steering angle and actual yaw rate detected by the yaw-rate sensor and G sensor to adjust torque bias.

The Premium Midship Platform layout places the transmission, transfer case and final drive at the rear of the vehicle, without the use of traditional torque tubes, allowing the suspension to operate independently and optimising tyre grip at each corner. Contributing to overall vehicle balance and low centre of gravity, the unique offset input and reaction shaft design of the rear trans-axle enables a shorter design profile versus a typical manual transmission, moving the concentration of powertrain weight lower in the vehicle.

Suspension

The GT-R NISMO’s suspension set-up has been developed using NISMO’s racing experience and technologies and tuned for stunning agility, road holding and handling finesse, without compromising refinement. The springs and custom-developed Bilstein DampTronic dampers in the front and rear suspension are specially tuned to deliver exceptional grip levels and progressive handling response at the limit. Three suspension modes can be selected: Comfort, Normal and R, for circuit applications.

Specially developed links fitted to the front double wishbone suspension increase castor trail to optimise wheel position during high-G cornering and improve straight-line and cornering stability.

Additionally, large high-rigidity bolts are used to increase stiffness of the wheel-hub attachment area. To minimise body-roll during cornering and changes of direction, the Nissan GT-R NISMO features a 17.3mm hollow rear anti-roll bar (15,9mm in other GT-R models), which raises roll stiffness.

Brakes

Stopping power is provided by Brembo® monoblock six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers with 390mm diameter front and 380mm diameter rear Brembo® full-floating, cross-drilled two-piece rotors and low-steel, high-stiffness brake pads that minimise fade and provide intense stopping performance. The calipers use a race car-style radial mounting to minimise caliper flex during extreme braking.

For the GT-R NISMO there are additional front and rear brake air ducts made from carbon fibre to aid brake cooling in extreme driving conditions.

Wheels and Tyres

The rigid forged metallic black 6-spoke RAYS® forged lightweight aluminium 20-inch wheels, manufactured by RAYS®, are inspired by Nissan’s legendary GT500 racecar from Japan’s Super GT racing series. Both light in weight as well as strong, much of their strength comes from their H-pattern spoke design, an I-beam-like sectional layout similar to that used in an engine connecting rod. This wheel design feature is new for the 2017 model year and further reduces weight while retaining the necessary stiffness. These wheels also feature knurling inside the bead lip to help keep the tyres from slipping around the wheels under heavy acceleration or braking.

The GT-R NISMO’s wheel dimensions are 20 x 10J (front) and 20 x 10.5J (rear), 0.5-inches wider than the GT-R Premium Edition. As such, the GT-R NISMO’s front fenders are wider compared to the standard GT-R model variants.

The GT-R NISMO’s tyres – developed by Dunlop with a NISMO-specific compound – exhibit outstanding grip and handling characteristics. The front tyres are 255/40 ZRF20, with 285/35 ZRF20 in the rear. These tyres bear the unique product identifier of ‘NR1’.

Exclusive Styling with Improved Aerodynamics

Using the latest Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) simulation techniques to analyse airflow, NISMO developed an aero package for the GT-R NISMO that improves road holding and minimises the negative impact of drag, while giving the car a more menacing and muscular appearance.

Together, the front bumper, engine undercover and carbon rear spoiler increase downforce and lower the car’s centre of gravity compared to the standard GT-R models. The car’s aerodynamic characteristics are tuned to ensure the downforce is equally spread front to rear at all speeds for progressive handling characteristics. A widened front bumper configuration and elongated yet tapered rear bumper design keep the drag to Cd 0.26, same as that of standard Nissan GT-R.

The GT-R NISMO’s hand-made dry carbon rear spoiler features a special coating that allows carbon fibre “weave” to be felt by touch. The lightweight dry carbon fibre material is also incredibly strong.

The GT-R NISMO creates frontal visual impact with efficient multi-LED headlights that provide a distinctive GT-R “lightning” motif, generating a bold exterior visual signature. The four LED units are configured with new LED high beam and three different low beams, including long distance illumination and wide illumination.

At the rear, GT-R’s distinctive four-ring tail light signature forms coherent circles of illumination, giving the GT-R an equally distinctive rear appearance. Upon start-up, the full lighting signature is illuminated, creating a dramatic start-up procedure.

The Nissan GT-R NISMO is available in five body colours: Jet Black, Solid Red, Pearl White, and Super Silver. As expected, GT-R’s advanced technology is present even in the vehicle’s paint, which utilises a durable anti-chip finish and “double clear coat” process. Matte Gray is also available.

A Racing-Inspired Cockpit

The Nissan GT-R NISMO cockpit inspires driver confidence through both its craftsmanship and optimised driving position. Ergonomically sculpted Recaro seats upholstered in leather and Alcantara, comfortably – yet firmly – support the driver and front-seat passenger.

NISMO racers influenced the design of the steering wheel, which is dressed in Alcantara®, with three spokes, red centre mark and red stitching to give the best combination of grip, feedback and comfort. The combi meter has a carbon-like finish, and the NISMO tachometer features a red design. The instrument hood is also dressed with Alcantara®. Interior trim features include discreet red stitching on the seats, centre console, door trim and steering wheel.

As with all 2017 GT-R models, the GT-R NISMO’s instrument panel is dominated by a video game-inspired, multi-function display that was created in collaboration with Polyphony Digital, makers of the Gran Turismo electronic game. Eleven pages of information are available on this system, including mechanical and driving information, acceleration, brake pedal pressure, steering angle and a recording function with playback. Additional on-screen information includes a Navigation system and Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System.

The NissanConnect NISMO feature is also available to GT-R NISMO owners. This app-based system provides live performance meters and a data-logger that can be shown on a suitable mobile device. The NissanConnect NISMO app can be downloaded to a suitable mobile device from the relevant app store and connected to the car via Bluetooth.

All 2017 GT-R models include a specially designed, 11-speaker Bose® audio system that features two forward-facing woofers in the rear centre armrest area. Rigid aluminium die cast panel mounting of all speakers allowed Bose® engineers to perfect the acoustic performance of the GT-R sound system. Streaming Audio via Bluetooth® is also standard. The BOSE audio system also incorporates Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which uses the speakers to cancel unpleasant sound frequencies should they enter the cabin, as well as Active Sound Control (ASC), which allows more desired frequencies in.

The GT-R: Handbuilt in Japan

The engine and transmission of the Nissan GT-R are built one at a time, by one takumi (the highest skilled of all Japan’s craftspeople), working in a dust-free clean room and each engine has a nameplate of the takumi that hand built the engine.

Although some other supercars have engines built by hand, no other mass manufactured supercar approaches it the way we do. This is the kind of dedication to precision and attention to detail normally reserved for F1 vehicles.

News from Nissan suggests that there are just four takumi who are sanctioned to put their name on this halo vehicle. Our particular model was built by Izumi Shioya. Izumi Shioya has built many engines in his two decades, but still aims for perfection.

“What I consider a ‘perfect engine’ is one that I am convinced will have the highest performance,” Shioya says.

Making supercar engines is only part of the story, as Yokohama plant chief Nobuhiro Ozawa says owners want to meet their GT-R’s builder.

“We sometimes receive comments from GT-R owners such as ‘Who built this engine?’ Some even come to the Yokohama plant wishing to meet the actual engine-maker. When they met, he said, ‘Thank you for building my GT-R engine.”

Features:

Handbuilt 3.8 Litre Twin Turbo V6 Engine (404kW/628Nm)

Asymmetrical Suspension System

High Capacity Braking

High Performance 4WD

0-100km/h in 2.7 Seconds

Advanced Information Displays

The Multi Function Meter uses a 7-inch monitor in the centre display to help you gauge your ultimate driving performance.

Choose one of four displays:

Vehicle mechanical info like water temperature, oil temperature and oil pressure.

Accelerator, brake, steering and G-forces.

Optimum gear selection for fuel economy.

Trip distance info.

The design of the cockpit is centred around the driver, to concentrate on what matters most – pure driving exhilaration. Start button, paddle shift, Multi Function Meter, stripped back dashboard gauges, tachometer and shift indicator – all pointed right at you to get the most from your driving performance.

Refined Engineering

The best place to test a supercar’s speed and safety is incredibly dangerous – the Nürburgring, one of the fastest and most notorious circuits in the world of motor racing. And every time we shave a second or two off the car’s lap time, using exactly the same type of tyres, suspension and specification you buy we get a little bit closer to making the safest supercar available.

Nissan NZ took a GT-R for a spin on Germany’s Autobahn. But there was a twist. They set a goal of talking with someone in the passenger seat while driving at 300km/h, and didn’t miss a word. Although there are no roads in New Zealand that allow that kind of speed, you’ll know that if it’s possible at 300km/h, you’ll be able to do it at 100km/h.

We’re excited to announce that the new Nissan X-Trail has won the 2014 AMI Insurance NZ Autocar Car of the Year award for the $45k-60k class! With some really tough competition in this segment for 2014, this is an awesome achievement and one that makes us even more proud to represent Nissan in Christchurch.

The 2014 release saw some significant changes to the Nissan X-Trail, particularly in terms of design. These changes were well-received by motoring journalists in New Zealand, with Damien O’Carroll summarising the new vehicle in his article for the NZ Herald as:

“… comfortable, extremely competent and largely unfussed by whatever atrocities local roading contractors care to throw at it. The X-Trail may not have its quirky square ways going for it anymore, but there is still certainly more than enough to make it a very strong competitor in a super-competitive segment.”

Dave Moore, for Stuff.co.nz Motoring also penned a fantastic review for the new X-Trail in his article: Nissan family favourite revamped.

The X-Trail has long been a favourite of our own team, and it’s great to see that this fine vehicle has now been recognised with this prestigious award.

If you’d like to experience the X-Trail for yourself, be sure to get in touch with our team or view more information on the Nissan NZ website.

As a demonstration of Nissan’s expertise in design and future vehicle development, Nissan have produced a concept car simply called the Sport Sedan. Displayed at the 2014 North American International Auto Show, the Sport Sedan went on to win Autoweek’s coveted title of “Best Concept” at the show, beating stiff competition in the form of the Kia G4 Stiner and Toyota FT-1.

“The Sport Sedan Concept is an extremely important vehicle for Nissan because it demonstrates a new and energetic design direction that builds on Nissan’s legendary approach of applying sports car principles to a sedan. To receive this recognition reinforces that Nissan is headed full speed in the right direction, and this is only a sign of good things to come. We are elated to take home Autoweek’s ‘Best Concept’ award from the 2014 NAIAS.” – Nissan Senior Vice President and Chief Creative Officer, Shiro Nakamura.

Each year, Autoweek editors select Best in Show, Most Significant, Most Fun and Best Concept at the auto show in Detroit. Editors pointed to the Sport Sedan Concept’s forward-looking design themes, including a flow-over “V-Motion” grille, a “floating” roof, boomerang light clusters and diamond-shaped seat graphics, as notable qualities that helped earn the award.

The Sport Sedan Concept was created by Nissan Design America and developed at the Nissan Global Design Center in Japan. It is the third vehicle displaying signature design aspects that will be adapted to all future Nissans following the previously-revealed Nissan Resonance and Friend-ME concepts. The “V-Motion” movement of the front end flows from the dramatic chromed grille up through the hood. The front of the Sport Sedan Concept also incorporates the large LED boomerang headlights, a deeply scooped front fascia and wide, sloped windshield.

The profile of the vehicle is equally powerful, with its dynamic bodyside lines adding a strong sculptural feel and connecting the wheels and tires – which are pushed out to the four corners.

The unique “floating” roof adds a sense of openness and lightness in contrast to traditional sedans’ heavy cabin appearance. The design is meant to evoke youth and adventurousness, intended as a reward to customers for their hard work and success.

The concept is powered by a 3.5-litre V6 engine capable of 300-plus horsepower. At this stage, the Sport Sedan Concept is a design study created to explore future design cues for Nissan’s sports sedans and is not directly affiliated with any current or future production models.

The awesome new Nissan GT-R and GT-R NISMO actually made their debut back in 2013 at various motor shows.

The 2015 Nissan GT-R

Evolution never stops for the Nissan GT-R. Nissan’s iconic sports car brings a refreshed vision of “innovation that excites” with the introduction of the 2015 (in the U.S.) model offering a new level of sophistication, yet with no compromise in performance.

The 2015 Nissan GT-R offers smoother ride comfort, more refinement and benchmark fit and finish, in the spirit of a great “GT,” while delivering breathtaking performance and road-holding. Its “multi-dimensional performance” means the driver can enjoy the full depth of the GT-R’s capabilities, whether navigating corners of a winding mountain road, cruising on the highway or even in an urban environment.

Nissan GT-R Driving Performance

With outstanding adhesion from its tires, the GT-R is capable of stunning confident acceleration and braking performance. The suspension was fine-tuned to reduced load fluctuation between the four wheels, giving better stability and more consistent grip. More constant tire contact is achieved by optimized electronic control of the shock-absorber valves, as well as modified front stabilizer spring rates and updated bush link.

The tuning of these parts, which makes best use of the suspension strokes and enhances road-holding capability, gives a poised, confident ride and outstanding traction on rough roads.

Advanced Body Construction

To achieve the project’s ambitious targets for high-speed handling and ride comfort, Nissan enhanced the level of precision-constructed body elements and advanced assembly methods to create the 2015 Nissan GT-R.

Each part is made of materials selected for optimum performance: Precision-constructed, multi-material hybrid body combines steel, carbon fiber and die-cast aluminum to achieve high stiffness and light weight.

The much-loved Nissan Pulsar name is returning to New Zealand from March 2013. With more space, more performance, and more value than ever before.

Powered by an advanced and highly efficient 1.8-litre engine, the Pulsar sedan launches first, with the all-new hatchback following in June 2013.

Pulsar sedan will be available in two trim levels: ST and Ti. While both grades feature a stylish 16-inch alloy wheel design, the Ti sedan is differentiated with a boot-lid spoiler, front fog lights and LED accent lights, and indicator repeaters within the exterior mirrors.

On the interior, Ti features luxurious leather upholstery, and leather steering wheel, plus a colour display for the audio system. Both ST and Ti have the added convenience of steering-wheel mounted controls for cruise control, audio system and Bluetooth handsfree phone.

The new Pulsar sedan has a longer cabin than any of its key market rivals and many mid-sized family vehicles, combined with an exceptional 510 litres of boot space.

The Pulsar’s long-stroke 1,798cc four-cylinder engine is equipped with twin continuously variable valve timing control (C-VTC) and develops 96kW of power and 174Nm of torque.

The Pulsar sedan is available with Nissan’s new Xtronic CVT transmission, which offers much smoother acceleration and a broader gear ratio range than a conventional automatic.

Considerable efforts have been made to reduce friction in both its engine and CVT transmission in the interest of greater fuel saving and driving comfort. Fuel economy is rated at 6.7 litres per 100km, on the ADR combined cycle.

Despite its larger size, the new Pulsar sedan matches the best vehicles in its class for aerodynamic efficiency, with an impressive drag coefficient value of 0.30.

Considerable attention has been paid to sculpting the underside of the vehicle, with air flow controlled by the large front spoiler past the front and rear wheels by strategically-placed deflectors.

The front of the new Pulsar sedan immediately stamps its authority as a beautifully designed small car and includes distinctive styled headlamps.
Chrome exterior door handles and accent mouldings complete Pulsar’s upmarket presence and elegance.

With exceptional rear seat room, the Pulsar sedan matches and in some dimensions surpasses the interior dimension of many larger ‘family’ cars.

Modern and ergonomically correct, the Pulsar’s interior immediately identifies it as a class above comparative models in its segment.

Soft-feel coverings are employed for the dashboard, door and centre armrests, combined with low gloss finishes to minimise dashboard reflection, enhance the vehicle’s inviting, high quality feel and ambience.

The new Pulsar sedan bristles with safety features including four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, Electronic Brake Distribution and Brake Assist, Traction Control and Vehicle Dynamic Control, front, side and curtain airbags and three-point seat belts for all occupants.

Pricing is as equally attractive as the Pulsar itself. The ST sedan model has a recommended retail price of $29,990 plus onroad costs, and $33,490 plus onroad costs for the Ti sedan. At these aggressive retail price points the all new Nissan Pulsar really does deliver on its promise of More for Less.

With more and more tradespeople coming to Christchurch, and the existing trade guys starting to build their fleet and company branding, we thought it was appropriate that we took a group of our customers out to a muddy hill in Christchurch so that they could experience the Nissan Navara at its finest.

The Nissan Navara has really excelled over the years and has become the work-horse of choice for any builder, plasterer, painter, or farmer looking for a vehicle that not only performs when it needs to while keeping its occupants safe and comfortable, but also stands out on the road. If you’re looking at putting sign-writing on a vehicle – a vehicle with some road presence is exactly what you need to help your branding stand out.

Test-driving the Nissan Navara around Christchurch streets can only reveal so much about a vehicle such as this – one that’s been designed to transport the team around a city but also make its way across un-finished roads, bumpy building sites and rugged farm land with ease. So that’s why we put together the 4x4xFUN event.

The 4x4xFUN Off-Road Event in Christchurch

4x4xFUN was created a few years ago by Cockram Nissan, and it was held most recently last weekend at a muddy and steep hill in Christchurch in very wet conditions! We took along a group of Nissan owners and fans and introduced them to Pete Ritchie and his wife Deb of Natural Instincts.

Pete has over 30 years’ experience in 4WDing, including a long history as a truck mechanic. These days he spends his time demonstrating the off-road capabilities of 4WD vehicles in terms of vehicle features and off-road technique. Basically, the man really knows his stuff.

As guests arrived, Pete took them on a long course over the hills and down steep muddy slopes in a Nissan Navara ST-X 450 while talking about the vehicle’s handling. Following that, passengers transferred to a white ST where they sat in the driver’s seat while Deb guided them over another course so they could put into practice everything that Pete had taught them.

Obviously, while we would love for hundreds of Nissan fans to join us at these events, we like to keep the numbers down so that everyone gets some quality time with the vehicle and is free to ask questions of Pete and Deb. However, so that anyone can get a sense of how the day pans out, we’ve put together a couple of videos for you to enjoy!

Commercial Nissan Navaras in Christchurch

And Gas Installation Specialists have been more subtle with their sign-writing and yet their branding still stands out really well. Especially with the extra accessories on their Navara.
