We’re currently at that awkward end-of-season stage, where the Pre collections are slowly starting to arrive in stores but the discounted summer stock is still hanging around too. So this week my wishlist is mostly filled with pieces that aren’t really needed but are most definitely wanted. Whistles’ slogan sweater is selling out fast – probably because it’s a great fashion pick-me-up. And the same can be said for Markus Lupfer’s crystal beanies. Sure, a £140 is a LOT of money to spend on a beanie, but they certainly make people smile – and that’s what fashion should be all about!

Also, don’t forget to shop the Net-A-Porter end-of-season sale, which is now on in the UK and US! So many bargains…

My belted cardigan memory is a little bit rusty, and I can’t remember the exact season the look became popular. Sadly the internet isn’t much help here, as the quality runway archives only date back to about 2005/6, but I do remember owning a slightly-questionable pale pink cardigan in my early teens which I used to belt at the waist. I think it had something to do with the first ever Marc by Marc Jacobs collection in Spring/Summer 2001, which featured those iconic elastic waist belts with the fruit-shaped clasps. They weren’t actually worn over cardigans on the runway, but everyone had one of those belts – whether it was an actual Marc by Marc design or a high street copy. Today the only (famous) women who regularly wear a belted cardigan are Olivia Palermo and Michelle Obama. Granted, that’s definitely not a bad selection, but considering the look is so versatile, flattering and feminine you’d think the style would still be a mega-trend.

With the British weather in such a dismal state at the moment I think the belted cardie could actually end up being the summer style saviour. I’m going to start belting my cardigans again… How about you?

If I’m honest, the ‘festival’ look is a bit make-believe, as I’ve never actually attended a festival or worn UGG boots with a dress before. But if I was going to camp out in a muddy British field you can guarantee I’d take a pair of UGG boots with me!

The ‘running errands’ outfit is my favourite way to wear the brand: the classic short boots in chestnut are always my go-to pair as they complement skinny, blue jeans. And last winter I also started pairing the black boots with leather leggings when it got really cold. It’s my snow-survival look!

So far this year there haven’t been many US Vogue cover debuts. The June issue featured Kate Upton, which was a first for the model, but otherwise Anna Wintour has stuck to familiar Vogue faces. I’m hoping that we’ll see some more newbies for the second half of the year. Jennifer Lawrence is sure to score the October or November cover ready for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire‘s release.

I’d also welcome a Lena Dunham cover (wouldn’t it be AMAZING if Anna surprised everyone and booked her for the September issue?) and I think it’s about time Karlie Kloss was given the newsstand treatment. Nothing against Kate Upton, but she definitely didn’t deserve to get a cover before Miss Kloss! And, finally, both Zoe Saldana and Kerry Washington are constantly topping the Best Dressed lists, so they’re in desperate need of Vogue covers! Here’s the dream Vogue lineup for the rest of 2013. Please make it happen, Anna…

It would be pretty amazing (and bizarre) if my entire wishlist came true, but I’m hoping Anna Wintour and team will make a few of these covers a reality.

Last summer I was one of the first to visit the new Victoria’s Secret flagship store on London’s New Bond Street. And last week I was invited back to experience the luxurious Angel Suite. Tucked away on the second floor, the Angel Suite is a beautiful private shopping area where customers can experience the Angel lifestyle. The suite is regularly used for VIPs and celebrity shoppers, but anyone can book a relaxing experience in the stylish by-appointment space.

As soon as I arrived in the Angel Suite I was invited to relax on the plush, velvety sofas. The lounge area has a homely yet glamorous feel, with framed photos of the Angels in every corner, vases filled with fresh pink flowers and piles of VS coffee table books. The suite has four private fitting rooms – each decorated in a dark, romantic style – where you can try on all the latest styles and receive a complimentary bra fitting.

Luckily I discovered I was wearing the correct bra size, but the Victoria’s Secret staff did suggest some fits that might be more comfortable and flattering for my figure. As I’m a small 32 A I usually stick to soft bralette styles, but I was also encouraged to try the low-cut Demi bras, which I’ll definitely continue to buy. The fit is absolutely perfect!

I love discovering a new accessories brand, and truly exciting collections don’t come around that often. So I’m happy to introduce the Canadian-Swedish handbag label, ela. Co-founded by husband-and-wife duo, Ela and Martin Aldorsson, the sophisticated designs play with the idea of humble luxury. The ela collection started with the M.I.L.C.K (money, ID, lipstick, cell, keys) clutch [above] and now features an insanely impressive array of colourful leather pouches and cute cross-bodys.

Those of you in North America may already be familiar with ela, but they don’t have a European stockist yet*, so I didn’t come across their gorgeous clutch bags until Clinique kindly sent me one as a gift. Part of me liked having the clutch as my little secret, but it would cruel not to share this beautiful collection with you. Let’s just hope it won’t be long until My-Wardrobe, Net-A-Porter and Selfridges put in an order….

I’ve been championing Juicy Couture‘s ready-to-wear collections for a number of seasons now, and the Resort 2014 line is yet another hit for the brand. As always, the focus is on clothes you’re actually going to go out and buy, rather than new trends that will redefine the fashion landscape.

Highlights include the slim-line puffa jacket (which has interestingly been paired with a swimsuit – I guess the current weather is pretty confusing), the luxe black tracksuit bottoms with the silk tie at the waistband, and the black and white bomber jacket. I’m pretty sure everyone will be able to find at least one piece in this Juicy Couture collection they’d like to wear – it really is a people pleaser!

1. Jo Malone London are constantly launching new fragrances and I’m struggling to keep up. The latest, however, is an absolute gem and has quickly become my favourite scent. Saffron Cologne Intense is dark, heavy and has a spicy kick. I was lucky enough to be gifted a press sample, but I’ll happily splash out on another bottle once I run out, as it’s absolute perfection! Make sure you have a sniff next time you pass a Jo Malone counter!

2. I’ve had my eye on these Bop Basics hair ties (available at Shopbop) for a while now. It seemed a little excessive to have them shipped over from the USA, however, so I eventually bought a set of lookalike hair bands at H&M for under £3. They look just as good worn as bracelets as they do in my hair…

3. If you’re heading somewhere sunny this summer you may want to pack Goldfaden MD’s Sun Visor Spf30 spray. The sunscreen is fairly pricey, but the ultra-light oil-free formula sprays on as a fine mist and can be applied over makeup, which is incredibly practical. It’s a great product to have in your handbag if you’re going on a summer city break. And you can now find the newly-launched Goldfaden MD skincare collection at Space NK. It’s the first ever dermatologist developed natural skincare brand.

4. Stila is one of my favourite makeup brands (nerdy fact: the founder, Jeanine Lobell, is married to Anthony Edwards, aka Mark Greene from ER). So naturally I’m excited to try out Countless Colour Pigments, their new long-wearing eye shadows. The collection features five colour palettes, and it’s the shimmering neutrals that have caught my attention!

5. I very rarely use hairspray, but I was recently introduced to Oribe Superfine Hairspray and I now see what all the fuss is about. The slim, glossy aerosol can looks seriously glamorous on my dresser, and the spray gives a fabulous, flexible hold. Perfect for taming flyaway hairs and setting slick styles. Plus, it smells gorgeous!

6. Ever since Aerin Lauder launched her namesake makeup range, last summer, I’ve been a big fan. The latest additions to the AERIN collection are the Pretty Bronze Portable Illuminating Powders. The pretty bronzers come in two shades: a golden highlighter “to accentuate features” and a matte bronze “to add depth to the contours of your face.”

7. Urban Decay do the best eye liner pencils, and I’m currently trying to decide which of their fabulous 24/7 Glide-On colours to add to my collection. I use their black kohl liner in ‘Oil Slick’ almost everyday, but I’m tempted to try a vibrant purple or metallic blue. Currently ‘Electric’ [above] and ‘Deep End’ are my favourites. Which shades would you suggest?
