Like in Call of Duty 4, users may have problems with the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer or single player executables crashing or failing to launch.

As always, the default advice is to make sure you have all of your drivers updated including graphics drivers and your audio/sound card drivers.

You may also try plugging in a microphone, that worked with the iw3mp.exe error in Call of Duty 4.

Modern Warfare 2 Preload Available on Steam

Steam has opened up preloads for Modern Warfare 2 through their digital distribution platform. If you have a slow connection it would be best for you to start downloading now so you have the game ready by November 12th when the game is activated on Steam. If you bought the PC game at a retail outlet you can start playing on November 10th.

What do you think of Infinity Ward's movement away from the traditional PC multiplayer model in Modern Warfare 2 by offering no dedicated server?

Modern Warfare 2 PC NOT Delayed + Prestige and Steam Support

In a recent update on his twitter, FourZeroTwo said there will not in fact be a delay on the PC, against the speculation last week that the PC version would be delayed until November 24th. There will also be Prestige support for PC players in Modern Warfare 2 unlike Modern Warfare - and it appears there will also be Steam support right off the bat or at least closer to release than last time.
