"The king of IT/Software industry Infosys (Infy) is going to set up a new unit at the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Falta West Bengal, within Info-valley complex planned in about 500 acres of land and minimum of 1000 human resources"

More Details-
The IT behemoth, which is the anchor tenant for the Info-valley project, is authorized to have software development and consultancy/ information technology/ information technology enabled services (ITes) operations. The company has been allotted 20,961.94 square meters (50.919 acres) of land in the SEZ spread over 262.52 acres.

While giving its approval, Falta SEZ has set some conditions. The terms, among others, stipulates that the Infosys unit will export the goods manufactured/goods imported/procured for trading services, including items of trading, as per the provisions of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and rules made there under for a period of five years from the date of commencement of production or service activities. For this, the company will execute a bond cum legal undertaking as prescribed under the Special Zone Rules, 2006.

The approval follows the letter of the state-run Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Idco) to Falta SEZ requesting to issue the letter of permission (LoP) to Infosys to start operations at its Info-valley campus, the second development centre of the IT major in the city.

Idco said, the Bangalore-based company was allowed to act as a co-developer of the SEZ by the Union Commerce Ministry. After executing the lease deed for the land on August 29, 2013, Infosys had sought a consent letter from Idco to obtain LoP from the development commissioner, FALTA SEZ. Acting on the request, Idco had conveyed its consent to Infosys for operationalizaton of its unit in accordance with the Clause 18 sub-clause 2(ii) of SEZ rule, 2006, of Government of India.

Sometimes in SQL Server Database table, we need to insert a new record with explicit value in identity column. at that time we face an error with error Message: An explicit value for the identity column in table 'TABLE NAME' can only be specified when a column list is used and IDENTITY_INSERT is ON. Here I am explaining with example how to resolve this issue.

Example of Identity Insert

Suppose there is a table CodeImagine_TblEmployee having below schema.

I am getting this error message

but even after I ran

I am still getting the same error message

Have a look onto the best,simple & easiest way-

SET IDENTITY_INSERT dbo.TblEmployee ON

You have to make a column list for your INSERT statement:

Have Tricks to play with Windows 8.1

Move any tile by clicking and dragging the tile. While moving a tile, if you need a larger view of the Start screen move the tile towards the top or bottom of the screen to zoom out.
Use your mouse wheel to scroll left-to-right through your tiles.
Any Desktop shortcut or program can be pinned to the Start screen by right-clicking the icon and choosing Pin to Start.
In the bottom right-hand corner of the start screen is a magnifying glass with tiles, click this icon to get a zoomed out view of your Start screen. In this view, if you right-click on a group of tiles you'll be given the option to name group, which can be useful if you have a group of related tiles (e.g. games). In this view, you can also click and drag a group to organize your tile groups.
Create a new speed bump between tile groups by moving a tile to a speed bump.
Resize any User tile or Live tile by right-clicking the tile and choosing resize.
If there is a tile you want on your Taskbar, right-click the tile and choose Pin to taskbar.
Show admin applications on the Start screen by clicking Settings in Charms, click Settings, and change the Show administrative tools from No to Yes.
In Internet Explorer 10, you can also pin any of your favorite web pages to your Start Screen.

Use a picture password to log into your computer

Windows 8 includes a new feature called Picture password, which allows you to authenticate with the computer using a series of gestures that include circles, straight lines, and taps. Ques: Explain .bind() vs .live() vs .delegate() vs .on()

This is one of the frequently asked question related to event handling using JQuery.

All these 4 JQuery methods bind(), live(), delegate() & on() are used for attaching events to selectors or elements. But they all are different from each other.

.bind(): This is the easiest and quick method to bind events. But the issue with bind() is that it doesn't work for elements added dynamically that matches the same selector. bind() only attach events to the current elements not future element. Above that it also has performance issues when dealing with a large selection.

.live(): This method overcomes the disadvantage of bind(). It works for dynamically added elements or future elements. Because of its poor performance on large pages, this method is deprecated as of jQuery 1.7 and you should stop using it. Chaining is not properly supported using this method.

.delegate(): The .delegate() method behaves in a similar fashion to the .live() method, but instead of attaching the selector/event information to the document, you can choose where it is anchored and it also supports chaining.

.on(): Since live was deprecated with 1.7, so new method was introduced named ".on()". This method provides all the goodness of previous 3 methods and it brings uniformity for attaching event handlers.

Both UNION and UNION ALL concatenate the result of two different SQLs. They differ in the way they handle duplicates.

UNION

UNION performs a DISTINCT on the result set, eliminating any duplicate rows.
The UNION command is used to select related information from two tables, much like the JOIN command. However, when using the UNION command all selected columns need to be of the same data type.
A UNION statement effectively does a SELECT DISTINCT on the results set.

UNION ALL

UNION ALL is much faster than UNION

A checkpoint creates a known good point from which the SQL Server Database Engine can start applying changes contained in the log during recovery after an unexpected shutdown or crash

Why check points

The Database Engine performs modifications to database pages in memory—in the buffer cache—and does not write these pages to disk after every change. Rather, the Database Engine periodically issues a checkpoint on each database. A checkpoint writes the current in-memory modified pages (known as dirty pages) and transaction log information from memory to disk and, also, records information about the transaction log.

Categorization of Checkpoints

Checkpoints are categorized into four categories-

1. Automatic Checkpoint

2. Indirect Checkpoints

3. Internal Checkpoints

4. Manual Checkpoint

Automatic Checkpoint

It is issued automatically from the background based on the [recovery interval] defined.
[Recovery Interval] parameter is specified in server level.
Default [recovery interval] value for automatic checkpoint is 0(zero) in which target recovery interval is 1 minute.

Indirect Checkpoints

These are new added to SQL Server 2012, provide a configurable database-level alternative to automatic checkpoints. In the event of a system crash, indirect checkpoints provide potentially faster, more predictable recovery time than automatic checkpoints. Indirect checkpoints offer the following advantages:

Indirect checkpoints can reduce overall database recovery time.
Indirect checkpoints enable you to reliably control database recovery time by factoring in the cost of random I/O during REDO.
This enables a server instance to stay within an upper-bound on recovery times for a given database (except when a long-running transaction causes excessive UNDO times).
Indirect checkpoints reduce checkpoint-related I/O spiking by continually writing dirty pages to disk in the background.

Internal Checkpoints

Internal checkpoint are generated only when following events occurs:

Database files have been added or removed by using ALTER DATABASE.
A database backup is taken.
A database snapshot is created, whether explicitly or internally for DBCC CHECK.

An instance of SQL Server is stopped by stopping the SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) service . Either action causes a checkpoint in each database in the instance of SQL Server.

Bringing a SQL Server failover cluster instance (FCI) offline.

Manual Checkpoint

It is issued when user executes T-SQL Command CHECKPOINT.
[Checkpoint duration] parameter is specified in database level.
[Checkpoint duration] parameter specifies requested amount of time in seconds for the checkpoint to complete.

How to change your laptop keyboard step by steps

I am using Compaq Presario C 740 laptop from last 7 years. This was working fine but before some days my laptop stopped working automatically. I went to a shop and purchased a new keyboard that was compatible with my laptop and applied the following steps- An external keyboard is an easy to replace device. The user can look for a new keyboard it is easy to replace but for a built-in keyboards its more difficult to replace, but it is still possible. The user can purchase a new keyboard for the make and model laptop that has the broken keyboard on it. Then, the user can follow these basic steps to remove the old keyboard and install the new one.

1. Turn off the laptop. Remove the battery pack, if possible.

2. Turn the laptop upside down.

3. Examine the bottom to determine which screws are connected to the keyboard. These are usually indicated by a small keyboard icon. There may also be screws underneath the battery pack.

4. Find and remove all the screws holding the laptop and keyboard together.

5. Turn the laptop back over.

6. Pull up the plastic strip at the top of the keyboard.

7. Unscrew the screws holding the keyboard in place underneath this strip.

8. Lift up the keyboard to expose the data cable connecting it to the laptop.

9. Pull the data cable out of the connector. You may have to lift up some small plastic connectors holding the cable in place to remove it.

10. Set the old keyboard aside.

11. Slide the data cable of the new keyboard into the connector.

12. Screw the keyboard back in. Press the plastic strip back into place, and flip the laptop over to reinsert the rest of the screws.

Power up the laptop and test the keyboard. If the keyboard is installed properly, the computer should recognize it automatically. There is usually no need to download keyboard driver software.

Pass complex object to Web API in MVC

ASP.NET Web API is one of the most powerful recent addition to ASP.NET framework. Sometimes, you have to post a form data using jQuery-JSON to Web API or MVC method, which have so many input fields. Passing each and every input field data as a separate parameter is not good practice, even when you have a strongly typed-view. The best practice is, pass a complex type object for all the input fields to the server side to remove complexity.

"Shadowing and overriding are both used when a derived class inherits from a base class, and both redefine one declared element with another. But there are significant differences between the two"

When you extend a class, you shadow fields with the same name in the base class and override virtual methods with the same name and parameter list in the base class. Overriding makes the base class method invisible. Shadowing a field only hides the field from view. You can still explicitly touch the hidden shadowed field if you wish. You can't touch an invisible overridden method.

We have two similar type of variables in C# sometimes we get confuse that which one in better with optimization point of view and which type of variable should used where.

Let’s have a look now at object keyword first. I’m not going to talk a lot about it because it’s been around since C# with old versions while dynamic introduced with later version of C# 4.0. Object keyword is nothing more than a shortcut for System.Object, which is the root type in the C# class hierarchy. and as we know everything in C# derives from object. so you can assign almost any value to instances of this type.

Examples How and When to use Object keyword

Here is a short example that demonstrates some of the benefits and problems of using the object keyword.

object obj = 10;
Console.WriteLine(obj.GetType());

// Prints System.Int32 because
// this is the type of the value stored in this object.

// A compiler error, because
// at compile time the type of obj is System.Object.
// obj = obj + 10;

// You need to explicitly cast obj to a necessary type.
obj = (int)obj + 10;

// However, this does not mean that you are really safe.
// You can cast to a wrong type
// and the compiler will not detect it.
// Here you get an exception at run time,
// because obj is an integer, not a string.
// obj = (string)obj + 10;

// You also get a run-time exception
// if you cast to a wrong numeric type,
// even if there is an implicit conversion in the language.

As you can see, although obj stores an integer, the compiler does not let you to perform any mathematical operations without a cast. It may look like casting helps you to ensure that you really have an integer, but it doesn’t. You can cast to a completely different type and the compiler will not detect it. As a result, you get a run-time exception.

So you have to perform an explicit cast that does not guarantee anything just because the compiler doesn’t let you to run your program without a cast.

Examples How and When to use Dynamic keyword

Here is where the new dynamic keyword in C# 4.0 comes in. It tells the compiler not to enforce additional rules upon your code.

// Prints System.Int32 because
// this is the type of the value stored in this object.

// No compiler error, because
// the compiler does not try to identify
// the type of the dynamic object at compile time.

dyn = dyn + 10;

dyn = "10";
dyn = dyn + 10;

This is one of the main differences between object and dynamic – with dynamic you tell the compiler that the type of an object can be known only at run time, and the compiler doesn’t try to interfere. As a result, you can write less code. And I want to emphasize that this is no more dangerous than using the original object keyword. However, it is not less dangerous either, so all the type-checking techniques that you need to use when operating with objects (such as reflection) have to be used for dynamic objects as well.

The next question that often comes up is something like the following: “Since a dynamic object can be anything and the compiler doesn’t check what it is, does it mean that you can pass a dynamic object to my unsuspecting method/system and make it crash?”

Let’s assume we have a simple method.

Now let’s look at how you can pass a dynamic object to it.

dynamic dyn = 10;

// You get an exception at run time here.
Print(dyn);

As you can see, although the compiler allows you to pass a dynamic object to your method, your method never gets this object if it has a wrong type. An exception is thrown before the method is actually called. The only way you can pass a dynamic object to your method is if it contains a necessary value, in this case, a string.

dynamic dyn = "10";
Print(dyn);

Again, this is not that much different from the behavior you get with the object keyword.

// Compiles, but there is an exception at run time.

// This code works because obj is now a string,
// but you still need a cast.

Print((string)obj);

Some people say that it isn’t hard to read (int)obj, so why bother with dynamic? Well, there are situations when you have to perform so many cast operations that it makes your code almost unreadable.

Also, the dynamic keyword and dynamic language runtime enable many scenarios that were either impossible or difficult to do before, including interoperation with dynamic languages.

So, if you often use the object keyword and have to perform a lot of casting and/or use reflection to call methods and properties of objects, you probably should take a look at the dynamic keyword. In some cases it’s more convenient than object and with less code to write.

Hence, he conclusion is that there is no need to fear that someone can break your code by using dynamic features. It is no more (and again, no less) dangerous than the object keyword.

No new feature added to VB and C# in Visual Studio 2013- Says MSDN Team

Bofore some days I had a curiosity that what new features are added with C# and VB dot net in Visual Studio 2013 new version. I browsed from MSDN and got this surprised information about the new version changes in VS 2013.

"As you can see in the VS2013 Preview, we have not added new language features to C# and Visual Basic in the next version of Visual Studio. I’d like to share our thinking on this. There are essentially two main reasons why we chose not to evolve the languages this time around."

The most important is that we just shipped new versions of these two languages less than a year ago, with support for asynchrony being a major new and impactful language feature in both. Developers are still learning how to integrate and benefit from the asynchrony shift in languages and APIs. We are very excited about the quicker pace of release for VS, but we believe from experience that language versions need a little more time to settle in. Our current thinking therefore is that C# and Visual Basic should stay closer to the pace they have been on for the past decade. It’s a balance between providing stability and new value, and we feel like we already have that balance about right.

There is a more tactical reason for us as well, which is that we are nearly done reimplementing the compilers and language services for C# and Visual Basic from the ground up. You may have heard of this effort as the Roslyn project, and there will be many end user benefits to this work when it ships. From our internal perspective on the language team, the new infrastructure makes it vastly easier to implement and test new language features with confidence, quality and great tooling. While the old compiler infrastructure is rock solid and supports VS 2013 beautifully, any effort we spend implementing new language features on it takes away from investing in the tooling, language features and compiler APIs that will power the future.

We are actively working on the next versions of C# and Visual Basic. The language design team is in full gear, led by Anders Hejlsberg as usual, and we are considering lots of new language features, big and small. We are looking very much forward to sharing more details about this work as the ideas mature, and to ultimately ship these new language features in a future version of Visual Studio.

Disable laptop keyboard to use an external USB keyboard

Solution 1: It will help you to disable your laptop keyboard by uninstalling your keyboard driver.

Go to Start–>Search type in gpedit.msc
Click the file to open the Local Group Policy Editor and show Windows who is in control!! You want to go here: Computer Configuration->Administrative Templates->System->Device Installation. Click on the sub folder Device Installation on the left and on the right side you will see the possible restrictions.
Right Click on Prevent Installation of Devices not described by other policy settings and edit this option, set it on ENABLED.
Reboot Windows and enjoy its inability to pollute your system with its standard driver, open gpedit.msc again and revert the change so you will be able to install your driver.

Solution 2: This is shortest as well easiest way
Please go to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\.... You will see some files start with kb, change kbfiltr to kbfiltr_del. And you will have done it.

This will disable laptop keyboard. At the moment, Now use USB keyboard and there is no problems for keys anymore.

On the Web server, the .NET Framework maintains a pool of threads that are used to service ASP.NET requests. When a request arrives, a thread from the pool is dispatched to process that request. If the request is processed synchronously, the thread that processes the request is blocked while the request is being processed, and that thread cannot service another request.

Thread Starvation & HTTP 503 Error

This might not be a problem, because the thread pool can be made large enough to accommodate many blocked threads. However, the number of threads in the thread pool is limited. In large applications that process multiple simultaneous long-running requests, all available threads might be blocked. This condition is known as thread starvation. When this condition is reached, the Web server queues requests. If the request queue becomes full, the Web server rejects requests with an HTTP 503 status (Server Too Busy).
