Just because you have always used oil paint, does not mean you always have to use oil paint, or pastels or fix motor bikes, or whatever it is that allows you to express your creativity.  

Don’t be afraid to try something different. Change your medium, change your style, change your subject… change your mind.

Just because you always drive the same route to work every day, doesn’t mean you can’t vary it. Just because year after year, you always have the same opinions about politics and religion and television etc. does not mean that you are right.

Sometimes you need to try an alternative point of view just to get a proper reference on what you already have.  It is good to have a shakeup every now and then and to be forced to review your situation.

Get out of your routine and experiment with different styles, ideas and mediums. You don’t have to be predictable, that is very similar to being boring.

Well I hope I convinced you that you are boring… and I hope you intend to do something about it! And now that you realise just how boring you really are, isn’t time you took a risk and tried something new? It might work… it might not,  but change sure beats boredom!

So you think you are smart? What is smart? Is it being intelligent enough to read a newspaper and to believe the fiction that is presented under the guise of news?

Is it going to university and passing endless exams that only require the ability to remember and not so much the ability to think?

Is it building a business empire that enslaves you for the rest of your life?

I think smart, intelligent, brilliant, brainy and bright are all adjectives invented by the ever self-glorifying human race. At the most smart is being able to create a life that has pockets of peace, enough wealth to be comfortable and a lot of love.

Humanity is selfish, self-destructive and generally stupid. Smart is something that humans invented but don’t really have.

Over the years, a lot of people have come into our gallery, then found a painting they loved, they said that they could afford it but put it off to later because ‘I’m not quite ready yet!’

Then a few months (or sometimes years) later they would come in and say ‘Have you still got that painting I loved’. Like, yeah, I’m going to hang on to my art just in case it is time for you to buy!

There is no perfect time. Things happen in spite of you and because of you. Sometimes you are lucky… mostly you are not! If it looks good and feels good, then it is probably time to act, no guarantees.

There is no magic in the moment, there are millions of moments and they are all different. If you act or don’t act, it is always your choice and the consequences are the result of that choice. Whether the consequences could have been better or worse if you waited… that is only a guess, you will never know!

So if you want a painting or an ice cream or a Ferrari and there’s nothing in the way, then do it or don’t do it but don’t complain months (or even years) later!

It is a human trait to expect some type of reward when you have been ‘good’. This is probably carried over from childhood when your parents rewarded you for being ‘good’.

However, life is not like that. Life does not reward good or bad behavior. Life is not some giant schoolmaster that keeps a register of good and bad deeds so that it can award appropriately. Life does not care what you do or do not do.

Everything is simply yourself in expression. You put caring values on a non-caring world.

The universe does not judge and punish – it is simply a stage where each living thing plays out expressions of itself. What you see returning to you as rewards or hardships are simply your very personal and biased interpretations of events.

When you are angry, your universe is reflected back to you as discomfort and anger. It is not verifying your behavior, it is only reflecting it. Likewise, when you are happy, life seems brighter and more agreeable. Life is a mirror reflecting your changing mindset.

Most people spend their days on a roller coaster of feelings. One minute they are happy, the next they are offended or frightened or whatever. It never stops changing, up and down, round and round. No wonder the world looks like a muddle of unpredictable situations.

The world is a picture of your mind. It can change as quickly as you can. There is no hideous bank called karma that is collecting all of your evil doings to drop them on your head when you least expect it. There is only you expressing and witnessing yourself.

You are never actually doing anything, you are simply experiencing actions and reactions on some sort of reality called earth. There is no purpose. Your life is not going anywhere. There is only yourself expressing your actions and reactions. There are no lessons to learn.

Even this writing is only a reflection of myself. It is not the truth. It is an expression of my creative imagination. It is not the answer to anything.

Use your own imagination to get some new personal interpretations of this crazy experience. Who knows you might even get enough to start a religion!

I cannot be held back.
I will not wait.
I arise from each moment and I am new creativity in action.
You cannot wait to use my expression, you need to act it out immediately.
You cannot control my expression for it is like trying to control water bubbling from a fountain.
It will glide through your fingers in its haste to conform to its own natural patterns.
I am the natural pattern of life that passes fleetingly through each moment.
I am the answers to your questions.
I am the creative doorway to new roads.
If you think you can look for me later, you will only find nebulous remnants. I am your dreams and when you try to recall them, you are only left with hints of what was.
If you want to enjoy my fullness then you need to act without thought.
You need to drop your fear of failure and to caste yourself into the depths of your heart.
You are your fate, so what have you got to lose?
If you want an answer.. ask and then seize that flash of an image or word or feeling that immediately tickles your senses.
You want to hit that ball perfectly… then drop all expectations and let me move your body.
You want to sing the perfect song… then don’t interfere as I play with your voice.
The truth is found in my unbridled expression now, in this perfect moment.
I am the creative artist.
I am the intuitive musician.
I am spontaneity and I show you clearly and immediately, what you want to know and how you need to act.
You had better be alert because I won’t stay around and talk about it.
I am the Essence of spontaneity… oops too late, I’ve gone!
